Discover the supernatural power of spiritual rest.
Be still, and know that I am God (Ps. 46:10).
In the journey of faith, there are times for work and times for rest. While its true that breakthrough sometimes come through discipline, many times God invites us to simply rest in His presence so that he can accomplish His work in us.
Carol Arnott, co-leader of the Toronto Outpouring, has been teaching believers to soak in the Gods presence for over twenty-five years. This practice of soaking prayer has released thousands of Christians to receive divine healing, hear Gods voice, and experience His love like never before.
In this important work, Carol teaches you to
Practice soaking as a powerful form of prayerDevelop a consistent lifestyle of abiding in Jesus presenceAccess the healing power of the SpiritEncounter the Fathers love in radical new waysWhen we wait on the Lord, He does amazing things! Its as simple as Soaking in the Spirit!
Soaking in the Spirit is a good book, there are great number of tips you can take always from this book. We are called by God, in His word, to do a great many things in order to not just learn His word, and understand His will & purpose for us, but also “soak” in His word & spirit. The Holy Spirit is our advisor, our comforter, counselor and advocate. So, it only makes sense that the Holy Spirit would guide us in God’s will and purpose. If we will only seek to follow God’s will, God’s Spirit will guide us the rest of the way!
In today's world, it's easy to feel that we do not have time to just be still in the presence of God. This book contains a great deal of information on resting in the presence of God, developing a consistent lifestyle of abiding in Jesus' presence, and accessing the healing power of the Spirit. I particularly enjoyed the idea of setting a timer to remind myself to worship and pray throughout my day. Though I don't do it every 10 minutes as mentioned in the book since that's difficult to do at work, I am making a habit of worshiping and praying much more frequently throughout my day.
This book has help me in a way I don't even know how to put into words!! I've received begun searching for a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit!! I'd kinda begun doing this, but this book has helped me understand what the Spirit has been doing in me!!! I'll be forever grateful!!!! I had also recommended this book to other's who I felt would benefit from it!!!! Thank You!!!!💛💛💛
I highly recommend this book. Carol Arnott has a very sweet and gentle spirit in her writing. Each chapter has activation exercises at the end of them. Soaking prayer works!
This is one of the rare books that teaches you practically how to draw near to God and develop a life of intimacy with Jesus. I love it and so glad I read it! It contains practical guides and activation.
This book help me understand things about the Holy Spirit that I didn’t understand before reading it. I highlighted very important takeaways from this book. If you want to go deeper, this is a must read.
Skeptical, but hopeful. I may not fold into all that was presented, but entering and lingering in God's presence: definite Yes. Our world does shutdown and out many things because we no longer rely on God, just ourselves.
"Soaking in the Spirit" by Carol Arnott was easy to read and digest. I found it very informative and helpful for understanding what soaking in the Spirit is and how to do it. The chapter on a practical guide on soaking was particularly good. As a result, I'm making my own playlist of worship songs for soaking. If anyone has some good suggestions for my playlist, please put them in the comments. I didn't agree with everything Carol said, but there was much that I did, which made it worth reading.
Exactly what I hoped for with this title, author and forward writers. Very practical advice and prayers for spending meaningful time with the Lord Jesus. We know the pre-believers in Jesus Christ have loads of books concerning meditation. This book helps the Christian deepen his/her relationship with Jesus. No “One Size Fits All,” simply good suggestions and examples.
Well written and practical. The author speaks from experience and encourages the reader to determine what works for him or her. Particularly helpful for those who struggle to slow down and allow God to strengthen and speak into their lives.
This book was water to my parched soul. A must read for those who aren’t familiar with soaking or who simply must have more of Jesus. I’m so thankful for this reminder of what is birthed in stillness before God.
The main idea is great and there were some good thoughts throughout. It might be irrelevant but I had an issue with the word 'soaking' and I could never get past it. The image of 'soaking' doesn't fit the theme. I think the word 'immersion' fits much better.
