I skimmed the majority of the book, I just did not connect with the story.
Lust at first sight.
No chemistry. We are just told days pass, a week has passed and they have this amazing connection
Mia is sexually assaulted bc of Nick and the next day he roughly accosts her to have sex with her! He literally rips her clothes off her, the day after a group of men hold her down and assault her! She’s just okay that he put her in a situation where she was assaulted and it’s all okay bc she is so Infatuated with him. Gross. Then Nick is assessing the situation and he says that Perhaps the men who assaulted his girlfriend have also assaulted other women in his club, and that he would “look into it” but the main issue he has is that the men “abused his trust”. Ummm so them assaulting women isn’t the most offensive thing in your eyes? You’re more concerned about the trust? Nah not for me.
Then the main villain in the entire series is Mias brother. And he’s a psycho, drug addict who went to the bad guys bc Daddy didn’t love him enough. Give me a break.

I got about 30% of the way and it was just not working for me. The plot was alright, but it was one of those books that felt like I had to push myself to keep giving it another chance before I finally decided it was enough.
What also didn't help was that there are certain words/phrases in romance books that are not pleasing to me, and this had a couple of them that were repeatedly mentioned, along with a nickname for the FMC that kinda gave me the ick too.

This is one of those books that really drew me in. I first have to say that it is a dark romance and has some triggers. If that bothers you then this is not the book for you. I mean there were times when I was like wth but I loved every moment of it.
Nick is the owner to a club called Odyssey and he is also part of the mafia. He loves his club and keeps a strict policy of what happens there stays there. Then one night he sees a girl who looks lost and he asks her what she is doing there and she tells him she needs a job and would like to be a waitress.
Only thing is Nick wants her for himself and as a play thing but he is not sure she will be up for that. This is where the story really kicks off and things start to happen so much so that you will not be able to put this book down until you are finished it. I know I couldn't and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

*New to me author
I LOVED this story! Tease Me is a mafia story but a "normal" kidnap and killing story. This is a hidden mafia story that doesn't wrap around so much around it. Nick is the mafia with his family. But his family has a business outside that too. The Dark Odyssey is that business. When Mia comes in to get a waitress job Nick takes an interest in her. Neither Nick or Mia realize that their lives are so intertwined.
The heat, intrigue, and mystery draw you right in from the very first page. You have to keep reading until you know what is going to happen next. I was up until 1 a.m with blurred eyes because I HAD to finish this story. I can not wait to read the next one.

I liked the setup here. Heroine needs money to pay off brother's debt & father's medical bills, works for mob boss.
I didn't see the twist at the end coming, so that was fun, too.
But after her initial bravery, our heroine was kind of lame. If she'd had more (any) agency in the second half of the book, I would have given this a much higher rating, but she becomes a complete pawn/object, and that's not my jam.
Also, after reading Asher Black and friends, who are all about security and guarding themselves, it seemed like this book was a little light on that, though I don't actually know anything about the mafia.

I was so surprised when i saw this was written by a woman because it screamed ‘written by a man that has never seen real boobs”
Like how does the fl have humongous perfect round boobs that are also rlly perky and soft but firm when they bounce? (And natural ofc 🙄)
Also they just randomly throw you that the fl has a Harvard law degree, has credentials “as long as my arm” and also worked at a top firm in LA but somehow can’t find a job anywhere?? Like i get that the job market is rough rn but come onnnn.
Plus its only ever mentioned when the fl wants to feel better than others or needs an excuse for her dumb decisions with
“why am I doing/saying this, i have a Harvard degree, I’m smart!!!”

Don’t write characters who are supposed to be smart if you can’t handle it. This chick is supposed to be a Harvard Law graduate with a masters. She’s supposed to be a Harvard lawyer. Straight from the beginning she’s an idiot. DNF before the third chapter. I can’t stand supposedly smart characters being unbearably stupid. Why make her “smart” if she’s going to make dumb decision after dumb decision. Glad this was free.

HOLY HELL! Tease Me was a deliciously dark read that I couldn't get enough of. Nick's family is mafia, and when Mia comes in to apply for a waitress job at his club, the Dark Odyssey, she catches her eye, which starts them on one hell of a journey, filled with next level sexiness. The intense chemistry seriously tried to short circuit my kindle while reading, and the point when it won't be denied?! OMG I needed the air conditioning set to the highest level. There's not just the sexiness, there are those twists that kept my f-bombs dropping like crazy, but I have to say it again, it is a dark read which may trigger some, and others who may or may not always like the content. Me?! I'm a dark & twisty person deep down, so while I did get mad at times, this story still fed my dark & twisty self. I CANNOT WAIT for more of this series, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND to those who crave the darkness!

I really enjoyed this book and I thought it was a great way to kick off this series. This book offers up plenty of sizzling heat, excitement, suspense, powerful emotions, tension and drama. Nick and Mia made a great couple. They had intense chemistry and shared a very strong attraction. There is a compelling cast of secondary characters hold a wealth of potential for future books in this series. The story is lush and engaging with its intoxicating blend of gritty mafia and steamy kink. Just as a heads up: This is a dark romance and as such it does contain content that will not appeal to every reader or even be triggers for some. So be aware before choosing to read. This is my independent, impartial review.

This book is ok. It just drug in parts so I had trouble finishing it. I was still going to give it 3 stars but it had the dreaded leaving you for your own good trope. I would love to never encounter this tired trope ever again.

I clowned this book from the beginning when he started calling her angeldoll. I was getting through it for just seeing how cheesier it could get. It was fine, it wasn't anything too good. I was going to give it like 2 stars. BUT It hit me with a truck of feels at the end and just shot up in terms of story and emotion. I had to give it an extra star for making sob unexpectedly 😭 I won't be reading any of the others in this series. They don't seem as interesting to me.

This is dark but super sexy and I loved the underlying mafia storyline but it didn't detract from the main one. Nick and Mia have amazing chemistry together and the story has some twists and turns I didn't see coming which kept me on edge.

I went into this book without reading what it was about. The first half of the book is all spice and then it finally gets into the story line and holy cow...a few chapters before the end...I won't say anymore, give it a read. It was different and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

These two together are like dynamite. They ignite at their first meeting and just keep burning the more into the story I got. I loved this story, there was so much going on in the background, but it didn’t distract from Nick and Mia at all, it only added to their story. I enjoyed the twist that the story took as well and did not expect that at all. I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to Gabe’s story in the near future. If you are a lover of mafia, billionaire, suspense, dark and Alpha men who want to play, then this is a great read for you. The Giordano brother will not disappoint.

Annoyed
Spoiler: I was all for this book until she blamed the man who hired her for getting attacked. She accepted that job knowing full well it was a sex club. She signed the contract on her own free will so to blame the man that hired her for other people’s actions was crap.

DNF 11% I am not sure how this book got so many good reviews. It was ridiculous and extremely disjointed from the very beginning. I got a few chapters in and could just tell I wouldn’t be able to take this book seriously at all.

WOW. THIS WAS A PRETTY LENGTHY MAFIA STORY, THAT WHILE AVERAGE IS STILL ENJOYABLE.
NICK is a cocky son of a bitch. And why wouldn't he be? He's part of one of the powerful mafia family in the U.S and he owns Dark Odyssey, a sex club. When one night he catches sight of a beautiful blonde outside his club, and she comes up to him asking for a job, he gladly offers it to her - a 'Personal Waitress aka Personal Sex Toy' after an interview session of 'Take of your clothes' and shoving his fingers up her wet pussy. Nick and Mia never lacked for passion, it was the driving point of the story apart from the murder mystery plot going on. Nick's pretty close knit with his brothers, and when his best friend Tommy gets gunned down, he's determined to investigate What The Fuck happened and get payback on behalf of Tommy. But as he digs deeper, he realizes that he may not have known his best friend as well as he did if the man was involved with another triad, drugs and some other dangerous shit. While Nick's life wreck up a havoc, the only sanctuary he has is Mia and their mind-blowing sex. To say the least, the poor man has a ton loads of shit on his shoulders, mostly emotional. But, I have to say unlike most mafia stories, it's refreshing to find one who has loved and isn't afraid to love, even if he does try to push Mia away later.
MIA, a harvard law graduate who had her life paved out for her, to be a professional career woman and the husband and kids one day, until family pulls her back home and now they are littered with debts no one can pay. Desperate, she takes up her friend's suggestion to work as a 'waitress' at the high end club 'Dark Odyssey'. Mia's never slept with anyone except for her ex of 6 years who cheated on her with other best friend. Now, the man she's going to work for is expecting her to get naked around him. Can she do it? Mia's not a prude, but she's also wary of Nick and the dangerous aura he exudes. He certainly makes her lose all inhibitions and turns her into a wild sex cat. Desperation drove her to sacrifice her body for her family but it also leads her to find love in the arms of a complicated mobster who is the only who can satisfy her.
OVERALL the story dragged a little but it definitely covered the areas of - PASSION, RAWNESS, A LITTLE GRITTY, ACTION AND DANGER and yes ROMANCE. It's not intense, and probably not the most EMOTIONALLY driven one, SEX DRIVEN yes, but in terms of it TUGGING AT YOUR HEARTSTRINGS? No.

When one night he catches sight of a beautiful blonde outside his club, and she comes up to him asking for a job, he gladly offers it to her - a 'Personal Waitress aka Personal Sex Toy' after an interview session of 'Take of your clothes' and shoving his fingers up her wet pussy. Nick and Mia never lacked for passion, it was the driving point of the story apart from the murder mystery plot going on. Nick's pretty close knit with his brothers, and when his best friend Tommy gets gunned down, he's determined to investigate What The Fuck happened and get payback on behalf of Tommy. But as he digs deeper, he realizes that he may not have known his best friend as well as he did if the man was involved with another triad, drugs and some other dangerous shit. While Nick's life wreck up a havoc, the only sanctuary he has is Mia and their mind-blowing sex. To say the least, the poor man has a ton loads of shit on his shoulders, mostly emotional. But, I have to say unlike most mafia stories, it's refreshing to find one who has loved and isn't afraid to love, even if he does try to push Mia away later.

Desperation drove her to sacrifice her body for her family but it also leads her to find love in the arms of a complicated mobster who is the only who can satisfy her.
OVERALL the story dragged a little but it definitely covered the areas of - PASSION, RAWNESS, A LITTLE GRITTY, ACTION AND DANGER and yes ROMANCE. It's not intense, and probably not the most EMOTIONALLY driven one, SEX DRIVEN yes, but in terms of it TUGGING AT YOUR HEARTSTRINGS? No.
