Wildflowers #5

Summer's End

Rate this book
Just because she has fiery red hair, doesn't mean that Aubrey has the temperament to match it. Actually, it was quite the opposite, Aubrey was the shy one out of the group of friends. Maybe it was the horrors she'd had to endure growing up or maybe it was because until she'd met her four best friends that summer long ago, she'd never felt a connection before. Now, as her best friends find love, she starts to dream about the day she could open her own life to something bigger, and she'd been dreaming for a while now about who she wanted to share it with.

Aiden was the first employee the five friends had hired on at River Camps. He'd been there since the first nail was struck on the remodel and was excited when they had decided to keep him on around the camps to build more cabins. Seeing what his hard work had done for the place, he couldn't help feeling pride as he walked around the place. The only thing that made his steps falter was bumping into the very sexy but shy Aubrey.

Summer camp has never been so much fun! This series makes me long for an adult summer camp just like it to visit as I think it would be a blast! This book in the series is no exception! While a lot of the story takes place away from the camp, you'll quickly become absorbed into the story and longing for camp too! I would love to take Aubrey's self defense classes and then jump in the pool! The characters are well developed and you'll be wishing you were half as skilled in self defense as Aubrey and that you had a hunky contractor to enjoy as well! I had thought that this might be the end of the series as this is the last of the original "Wildflowers" to be paired off, but it sounds like we are going to get to come back to camp at least once more as Brett and Val's story sounds like it is about to heat up! Yay...I just wasn't ready to let go of this series! Now, to do some research into adult camps while I wait for the author to write the next story for me to devour!!!

Another awesome addition to the series with Aubrey and Aiden's story. Aubrey has always been the quieter one of the 5 girls and she's been keeping a secret for a few years from her sisters. As the truth unfolds so does more truth about Aubrey's upbringing and the reasons for why she doesn't believe in love. There's also mystery, attempted murder and more. An entertaining read.

Aubrey's story is of a rather sad childhood making her think she wants nothing to do with love or relationships. She didnt feel she deserved either. She's a very focused and strong woman who thinks she knows what she wants from life.

Aiden was something Aubrey wants, but only as friends with benefits. This suited both of them for a long time. As soon as Aiden showed any signs of wanting more, she backed off. Aiden was determined to get into her heart.

We get to find out why Aubrey is the way she is, and also how determined to win her heart Aiden is. Lovely story, and catchup on all the other "Wildflowers".

This is such a good book!
I truly enjoyed reading it.
It's a captivating, sexy, emotional
& suspense filled romance.
Aubrey, is the remaining single one of
the Wildflowers. She's happy with her life.
Happy that all her friends found love.
Aiden, is the head of construction for
remodeling the camp. After a bad
break-up, he was not looking for a relationship.
When Aubrey & Aiden meet for the
first time, their chemistry is undeniable.
Now, if only she can get her father
to back off. She decides what is wants
in life.
I loved it from the first page to the last.
It keeps you guessing what will happen next. Must Read Story!!

This book might have been my favorite of the series so far. This is the 5th book in the series and follows Aubrey and Aiden. To be honest I did not think that this was how the book was going to go but Ms Sanders always throws us for a loop. Aubrey grew up in a loveless home when her mother died. Her father tried to mold her into what he wanted without any love or encouragement which lead Aubrey to believe she was not worth loving and that she doesn’t know how to love.

Enter Aiden, apparently they had a FWB arrangement going on for YEARS, see my above comment. At first it suited Aiden because he was coming off a bad break up but when feelings start showing up Aubrey distances herself. It was fun watching the two of them get past their issues to move forward.

Last Wildflower finds happiness.
Aubrey is quiet, shy one. She want to forget about the time she was growing up. Wildflowers are everything to her and when she got news, that she can help with camp and be a part of it. She is more than happy.
Aiden, was helping with the camp from the moment Wildflowers decided to run it. He had his eyes on Aubrey too.
Loved this book.
Whole series is wonderful.

I have loved this series from the beginning. Aubrey and Aiden have been having a sort of relationship for about 3 years. Her sisters didn't even know it. Aiden wants more, but Aubrey doesn't. He thought he would be OK with their relationship as it is, but he really wants to make it permanent. Aubrey has been manipulated by her father for most of her life and has always disappointed him. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't please him, so she quit trying. Being at the camp every year was the only thing that brought her any happiness. Her father keeps trying to do things to make her come back, but she won't budge. When her father's lawyer delivers a will to her, she goes to NY to see what is going on with him. She gets a big surprise. He's getting married. Aubrey knows his fiancee and knows that she doesn't want his money, but she won't let her have it either. Aiden goes along to help her and understand why she feels the way she does. But how can he help her? How can he get her to admit that she loves him? Can she reconcile with her father?

What a beautiful summer's end...growing up without the one thing most people take for granted has Aubrey's heart jaded to love but with patience and love Aidan tries to show her that love is possible. But then her father throws a kink in all the hard work, with the help of unscrupulous people out for a quick buck. Can they work thru this mayhem to come out on the side of love?? Or does the hurricane blow it all away? Loved this book❤❤❤❤❤ I volunteered an honest opinion for this book.

Well, this book took a turn I wasn't expecting. And that was great!

Aiden and Aubrey have been sneaking around for years. Now he wants more and she freaks. Enter her past. What a rollercoaster this story takes and the ending. OMG!!

Loved it and hoping we see Brett's story so that we can visit the Wildflowers soon!

She's Everything!!!

Aubrey Smith, one of the owners of River Camps had a tough childhood just like her Wildflowers sisters. One would have thought thay she was outgoing because she could handle herself a bad*** but au contrary, she was the shyest one of the group. Now that her four friends/sisters have found love, she wasn't ready to take that leap. She just wanted to keep things casual and she knew who she wanted to take that step with.

Aiden Stark, was the first person that was hired by his second cousin Elle ( SUMMER HEAT ) and her four friends to work at River Camps. He was extremely happy when they'd decided to keep him on after the remodeling. He and his crew were building more cabins, he was proud of all their hard work. He found himself drawn to the beautiful, strong and shy Aubrey Smith.

They were both attracted to each other but their views on relationships were different. She didn't believe in true love and who could blame her after the way she was raised and he believed in love with all his heart. For over more than two years they have been carrying on a relationship in secret. But something had changed and it scared Aubrey to death.

Aiden was breaking down her wallls and instead of talking things out, she broke it off with him. Yet she found herself missing him like crazy, when their affair came to light. Deep down she was happy but she was still keeping more secrets from her friends. She shared them with Aiden. Together with her Wildflowers sisters and Aiden they came up with a plan to keep her controlling father (Harold Smith) out of her life for good.

Things didn't go as they'd hoped, her father dropped a bomb on them that had Aubrey calling her sisters for back up. They were able to stop Harold from making the biggest mistake of his life.

Loved catching up with previous characters and couples. I also love the dynamic between the five Wildflowers sisters and their partners.

SUMMER'S END is the fifth installment in Jill Sanders' WILDFLOWERS series. It was heartwarming, fun and intriguing. Jill Sanders did an amazing job. I'm going to miss this series very much. Two thumbs up! 👍🏾👍🏾

Original review: https://myshelfbooks.wordpress.com/20...

Contemporary romance: This is the end of a summer thas has lasted about three years in book time. This saga has been more or less the same story over and over again, with a couple of deviations. One of them pretty bad and the other rather good. Sadly, that last one didn’t set the mood for the following stories. This story with Aiden and Aubrey is nothing out of the ordinary, but it is easy-to-read and enjoyable. It has been a nice last meeting with the Wildflowers and company.

Boom: If I liked something from the first and third book was the good mystery plot that was presented. This last story doesn’t have much of it, but it is capable of doing something that its older brother couldn’t: surprise me. It ties Aubrey’s life with some events of her friends’ lives rather beautifully. Too bad the final boss fight is a copy/paste from the previous books… They should have known by now that falling in love means being attacked by crazy women. They should have been prepared after four books with the same outcome…

What?: How is it possible that five very young women who started a crazy business with barely any money are capable of talking about buying land and homes just three years later? Exactly how much does it cost a night in River Camps? Are they using slaves instead of employees? Or is maybe their stupid wine diet that allows them to ignore expenses in food? It didn’t make any sense in book one and it is still not making any sense in book five.

4.25⭐

Summer's End is the fifth and final Wildflowers story, and it's a sweet, engaging, fun, and at times emotional read. That brings together a really satisfying mix of mystery, romance and friendship and proves that everyone is worthy of love no matter where you come from or the family you're brought up in. And I loved the romance between Aidan and Aubrey, and how even after three years of being constantly brushed off Aidan still pursued an actual relationship with Aubrey, and was always there for her no matter what was going on.

Not to mention I loved the time spent with the other four Wildflowers and their significant others, even though a lot of this story was set away from Florida and River Camp. But that didn't take away the bond these five Wildflowers have and that really has been prevalent not just in this story, but the whole series.

Would happily recommend as this is the sort of story that you could easily read by the pool or even curled up on the sofa with a big glass of wine. 😊

Aubrey is my favorite wildflower and her story is an enjoyable read. She doesn’t believe that she deserves love. But, we all do! It didn’t end up the way I thought it would, which is always a nice bonus for me. This would be great read for an end of summer beach or pool day. Aiden and Aubrey keep each other and you guessing. I am always entertained with a Jill Sanders book, and always look forward to the next.

Hoping this isn’t the last one as do many other support characters to write about. Also need to see a keys baby and the other Wildflower weddings. Loved Aiden’s character and couldn’t wait for his and Aubrey’s story. Such a twisted evil plot revealed in this book that I definitely didn’t see coming. Would love to go to a camp like this one. Hope that Aubrey’s father realises before it’s too late to make amends. Hopefully we get Brett & Lea’s story next. Can’t wait.

This is the last in the series, although there's a hint for possibly one more. This one starts out with secrets and then moves on to twists and turns. Aubrey's childhood turmoil comes out in full force and she will need Aiden to help deal with her dad and his fiancee. The Wildflowers support will keep them going through all the heartache, attempted murder and hurricane that follows.

Aubrey did not have the best childhood and was afraid of love.

Aiden was willing to take a chance on her and see where things went. They kept their relationship a secret for 3 years.

It took family drama and almost losing their lives in a hurricane to realize she loves him.
