#1 Bestselling Military Science Fiction author Terry Mixon served as a non-commissioned officer in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division. He later worked alongside the flight controllers in the Mission Control Center at the NASA Johnson Space Center supporting the Space Shuttle, the International Space Station, and other human spaceflight projects.
He now writes full time while living in Texas with his lovely wife and a pounce of cats.
How could I not give this collection 5 stars, given my untimely Denise in Terry Mixon's tale. I enjoyed all of the stories, which covered a wide range of possible apocalypses, as well as emotional tone.
Full Disclosure: I have a story in this collection. My rating is for the other stories included in this.
I really enjoyed this epic romp through the universes of the authors contained in this anthology. This was definitely worth my time and now I'm going to track down some of these worlds over on Audible with those two credits burning a hole in my account.
I really enjoyed author IQ Malcolm's story "A Girl with a Bird" and it made me want more from him. He's a new author, but he really hit this one out of the park and I expect more big things from him. The story was nuanced, insightful and made me visualize the world he spun up through his fiction. Well done, seriously, I loved it.
Anyone who follows me won't be surprised that the story by Terry Mixon made my list, I'm an uber fanboy of his stuff. His story "Girls Night Out" was a lot of fun and had me hooked from start to finish. The only thing missing was the narration by the lovely Veronica Giguere!
I also loved the story "Monsters Understand Beauty Too" by Tim C. Taylor, but again there should be no surprise there. This story has everything we love about Tim's writing; dry British humor, copious amounts of action and dialog that makes me laugh out loud. Give this one a read, give his whole back catalog a read for crying out loud!
Finally, I really enjoyed Walt Robillard's story "Lost Horizon: The Surge." He brings all of his snark into this action story that you should read. This one is bucket list quality story telling here. Seriously, I wish I could say more but this is a spoiler free review!
