These stories just keep getting better. If I was in the apocalypse, would definitely want Mike on my side. Love the characters and their families and faith. It is one difficult situation after another. And the group does not always win. It is real and heart breaking at times.
Dealing with a nationwide EMP attack, a Christian leads a group of acquaintances towards a safe haven. They deal with serious conflicts on their way. Life and death situations are dealt with. No gratuitous sex or cursing. Good pacing, keeps your interest.
An interesting apocalypse series. A little more gratuitous violence than I expected in a story based around religious characters, but considering the situations that arise in a lawless world, not out of line with the setting. The third volume develops an unexpected turn that was foreshadowed in the second volume. I am interested to see where this new theme is headed. Some of the character's names are similar enough to leave me asking myself, which group am I reading about now. I will definitely continue reading the series.
Good episode, but I do wish there were only a couple of places/groups of characters. If this had been done focused more on one or two areas, then in later books going in depth to what happened in an area the first group passed through, I think it would be easier to keep track of some of the characters. But, it is what it is, and I've made a list to try and keep people straight. He does add more characters to each group now and then, too. That's why 3 stars instead of 4.
This book is hard to put down. The only issue I had was keeping all the characters straight A bit confusing at times. I enjoyed the concept. I would be one of the unprepared people. Loved learning about the Faraday cage and different ways preppers use to stock pile supplies. Very good read, waiting for number 4.
Good families seem to grow when they share faith and love for each other as well as their extended family. Friends can become family. Nothing is more important in our world and the world the author has created than children.Great reading a series where families, faith and children are at the forefront. Now on to book four.
I had a difficult time engaging in the first half of the book, not sure if it was the story or just me. The second half however, lit up! Lots of action, lots of tension. There was also some revealing backstory for some of the key characters. I'm looking forward to more of this series.
A realistic action packed novel exploring different possible situations a group of people with different skill levels and background could face in a breakdown of society. Clean language and no misuse of God's name.
This book is addictive. I haven't been able to put the past three books down. I love this type books this is the first I ever read with some hopeful scenarios. Onto the fourth in the series!!!
This is the third book in the series. They are relatively short and at times a little confusing about which group you are presently in. Regardless, they are very interesting.
I have loved this series. Having gone through what they are, and still together and growing. Can't wait to see the happens next. Thank you for your hard work on this book and the whole series.
I couldn’t believe when I hit the last page!!! This third volume of the series was fast paced and page turning! I’m ready to dive into the next book to see where this saga goes!
Book 3 continues with the same quality as the first two. The storyline as suspense and twists not seen, with characters just like family. Can’t wait for book 4!
Families First: A Post-Apocalyptic Next World Series Volume 3 Second Wind is easy to read, enjoyable, thought provoking book. Well worth your time reading.
