I’m going to almost guarantee that the majority of people giving this books high scores have never actually read it. According to the “author” the characters were based on real people and I’m willing to also bet that it was a case of “I’ll put you in my book! Just give it a great (fake) review!” There is no other explanation.
Seriously. DO NOT waste your time, this “book” is horrible. It reads like a very poorly written short story for a freshman creative writing class.
Let us take a look at the sin count:
1) Due to the third party, jumping around narrative, it was impossible to become invested in any of the characters.
2) There are too many characters/ there are too many characters with similar names.
The writing is so poor that for several chapters it made no sense that some twit was all over “Pete” who was not “Peter”. It was never made clear.
3) Just as the story would start to actually go somewhere good. It would drop off and focus on another group of characters and never pick up again.
4) You pretentious nit. You put yourself in your own book! For no fricken reason! It did not add to anything to have all these famous people talking about their pal “Shane Moore”. You’re not Stan Lee. Take a seat.
5) This is a book about zombies. Your readers are already suspending disbelief, so when you do something even more outrageous then ZOMBIES and your readers are calling you out on your shit. You need to rethink what is going on.
6) What is with all the biblical quotes and rapture talk when apart from a small blip in the beginning, you don’t go into it AT ALL!?
7) Did you even have an editor, Shane Moore!? Do you know what an editor is?!
8) In the back of the physical copy there are places for celebrities, actual celebrities, to sign their names. Why the hell would anyone want to sign this book? Because some F-List “writer” felt the need to name drop to try and make sales?
Honestly I can’t keep going. This “book” is utter garbage and there is so much more to tear it apart on, but I don’t have the time. Is this book self-published? If not, the publishing company needs to shut down for this horrific piece of inexcusable crap they have allowed to come into the literary world.

"The Apocalypse of Enoch" was a contract from New Babel Books that I initially turned down. Being offered a shot to write yet another zombie novel is not exactly something a writer wants to hear. With nothing new to add to the genre, I politely declined the offer.
A few months later while at dinner with my wife, we were discussing the rapture and the details of bodies left behind if only the soul was taken. She contended that the living shells would be like zombies. ..."The Apocalypse of Enoch" was born.
In order to correct the zillion plot holes of a zombie apocalypse story, I enlisted an ordained minster, a seminary historian, a medical PHD and a molecular biologist. The end result was a Hitchcock/"The Exorcist" style end of days zombie thriller that cemented my foray into the horror genre.
While I admit the title was rushed (only 60 days from contract to submission deadline), I believe the story will still captivate and entertain. Included in the novel as characters are "real life" people who are in the story as themselves. Such as Peter Mayhew (Chewbaca from Star Wars, Terry Naughton (Disney Animator), and April Simpson (TV Anchor from Saint Louis). While my inclusion of these people create a sense of realism to the story, I hope that it does not take away from the horror that you surely wish to experience.

Could not finish this book, lost track of all the characters, lost track of the story, totally lost interest and gave up.

Overall i thought it was a very good read. The idea behind the "zombies", and i use that term loosely, was refreshing and original. The plot flowed well and the book had some great ideas for an apocalypse. The only flaw i had with the book was the revolving cast of characters. There were so many characters with bit parts it detracted some from the story. Fewer characters with more in depth character development are the only things i would have liked to see. The characters of april simpson and corey were outstanding. I can't wait to see what direction he will take these characters in the next novel.

This book is a roller coaster of reality! With real life people being portrayed in a piece of fiction is gives a real sense of suspense and emotion when those people you may know are in jeopardy.

I enjoyed reading this book. I'm not a big reader. I used to never really read. But I'll actually sit and read Shane's writing! The day The Apocalypse of Enoch showed up i was so excited. Luckily i was off work that day because didn't stop reading til it was time to sleep . Its awesome and i love it. Shane.... you rock!! Can't wait for the next one :)

So far the only problem i have with any of Shane's books are that they end way to soon leaving you hungering for more like a salivating creeper. This book is no exeption. You get totaly emirsed in his world hours seem like minutes and then over. Keep up the good work Shane!

I LOVED this book! I was totally into every part of it and could not put it down, finishing it in a day and wishing it was much longer, and wanting the next to be out sooner than latter! Amazing job in every aspect of it very well worth the time!

Truly a new and original telling of the struggles to survive the end of days. Shane Moore does not disappoint in his description of the horror and agony of being what is left of humanity.

The book started out as the apocalypse was already happening. Some disliked that there was not a central character to get attached to. In the apocalypse you can’t get attached because you are going to lose people. I enjoyed the entire cast of characters and especially the real people that the story involved. Eventually it all comes together and now I am longing to read the second book in the series. It’s not just your typical zombie story. But a true biblical end of times.

This was the first "zombie" book I ever read, and I loved it! The zombies are unique, and the characterizations are extremely well done. The book is well plotted out, and super fast paced. I especially loved the way the author includes all his celebrity friends in the story, which added a nice touch of realism to the zombocalypse. You feel like your right there in the action, which is all you can ask from an author. I recommend this book to any fan of horror, zombie or Sci-fi, its that good.

A TALE OF SOMETHING IT IS...
Hello, the story is good, maybe a little crowded, but good. Lots of stuff going on with little explanation as to how or why. For instance, the civilian world is in chaos, but the military can try to silence a single news lady and drop nuclear bombs all over the place. Thanks.
