Ferd doesn’t know either way, but he is certain the Angel is the most beautiful creature he’s ever seen. He’ll lie to his friends and shirk his duty just to stay near her…, until he finds out the truth. Then, he’ll do whatever it takes to free her. The Reverend Michael is not all he seems, but he still has a plan for your salvation. All the signs point to the end of days. His personal Angel only confirms what is written right in the Good Book. Just look at the weather, then dig into your pockets…, if you want to be lifted up. The stallion Gus wants for his father is hurt and can’t travel. While waiting for it to heal, he burns to dip his toes in the ocean and see the mission where Crocket and Bowie died. But his friends’ problems have always been his. And it looks like Ferd’s bitten off more than he can chew. Pick up this Classic Western, 8th book in the Marshall Family Western Series, to find out who lives and who dies.
Another wonderful story. Very hard to put Kindle down. I've been reading a book a day except two days ago, I read two books. Story of Ferd and his special love for Angel from the first time they met. Also the struggle of Gus in finding that special stallion for his dad.
They rode here and then they rode there. Where is everybody going. Then they rode back and then they rode to a river, then back to Zion. Rode to town, then Bounty hunter appears. Then they rode to two cabins. Who is going where. Loved that Ferd got the evil preacher. What happened to Aloysius? Gee who got the rewards. Ferd couldn’t gotten it all? Where was Gus and the Sheriff? Still going here and there? Like usual, a character quickly appears and then he is gone —lost out of the story. Where is Aloysius? Ferd is sure a able to do a lot considering his nature and simpleness especially riding , shooting, and killing the bad guys. Down syndrome at it’s killing best?????!
Gus was still on the hunt for the perfect horse for his father, his friend Ferd was still with him as they finally make it to Texas. They have also managed to make more friends along the way and attract trouble no matter how they try to avoid it. As they get ready for another cattle drive, Gus decides that he wants to see a little bit more of the country and maybe dip his toes in the ocean, but even the best laid plans don't always work out the way that we want them to. This was really good read for those of us who love to sit back are enjoy a good old fashioned western. They are almost as good as watching a movie!
Some of the names are inter mixed for example it’s said Gus did something but he wasn’t in that part of the story...other then that it was like watching an old western with my dad!
The author has sure shown he can truly write. This ongoing series is still as fresh and exciting as it was in the first book. I'm now getting ready to read book 9.
