From the outside, Ally Wallace had the perfect life. Married to a gorgeous, successful husband, with a beautiful home and a future all mapped out for her. Life couldn’t be better.
But looks can be deceiving. Jacob Wallace is far from the perfect husband that he appears to be. He is controlling, manipulative, with a very short fuse.
Jacob has dreams of becoming a senator, possibly even one day making it all the way to the White House. The only problem was, Ally didn’t want to be a senator’s wife. She didn’t want to spend her life in a gilded cage. She felt trapped and very alone.
When Ally discovers she has a stalker, Jaxson Stone, an ex-marine, is the man assigned to protect her. Despite his own demons, Jaxson can’t deny the instant attraction he feels towards Ally.
But Jaxson is an honourable man. He is determined to push his feelings for Ally aside and protect her from the monster that is watching her every move.
But just who is the real Monster?
Does Ally’s happy ever after lie with the dashing bodyguard who she longs for? Or will she remain true to the man she promised to love through better or worse, even though she knows deep down, she no longer loves him.
Or can the Monster that seems determined to destroy her life, be stopped before it’s too late?

Life is too short to read a story that is all ‘tell and no show’. The h’s husband was awful, but I didn’t understand why the h just didn’t leave him. She had a loving family and a wonderful best friend.

"I hated him. I hated everything about him. But more than that, I hated myself. I hated I allowed myself to become this weak, pathetic person who accepted whatever Jacob did to me."

Wow. Just wow! This is a much darker side to Ms. Webb than I've seen before, but I'll tell ya, she knocked this one out of the park!! My heart broke for Ally. It broke for Jax. I hated Jacob with every fiber of my being and it only got stronger as the pages turned!

Jacob. There was a time Ally had been swept off her feet by this man. He's a handsome, successful man, with aspirations to run for political office. She thought he would give her the world. But, all he's given her is misery. And bruises. He's isolated her from friends and family, convinced her to quit a job she absolutely loved, and now, someone is after her - all because of him. Having a personal security guard a.k.a. babysitter is isolating her even more. But, when Jaxson shows up, something in her stirs - a feeling telling her that this life - her life - doesn't have to be this way.

As the stalker becomes more aggressive, more persistent, more......threatening, what is uncovered will rock her to the core. Will her life ever be one of happiness and freedom, or will whoever is behind this take everything away?

I was riveted to this book!! I felt the tension, the despair, the hatred, the manipulation, and the desire to just be free, that Ally was feeling. I didn't trust Jacob from page one!! And Jaxson? Well, he's my favorite kind of damaged hero. I think you'll love him too.

I'd definitely recommend this one!!

There are triggers of domestic violence and war-time PTSD. So if you're sensitive to those, let me say, I'm sorry you went through those experiences and please know, you are not alone.

Imagine the life you thought you were starting with your husband turned into something completely different. Imagine your home becoming your prison. This is what happens with Ally.

“I didn’t know why I couldn’t sleep. I didn’t know why I felt so miserable, but I did. I felt so alone, and I knew there really was no one that I could talk to about how sad I was feeling.”

Ally has been so lonely but has decided to be the loving wife she’s suppose to be even if she’s miserable. She gave up her job and her friends when she married Jacob so she could be there when he needed her.

She was living her life day to day barely surviving with very few joys left in her life. Then something happened and Jacob realized she had a stalker and hired a personal security guard to keep her save. That’s when everything changed...

Jaxson was hired to keep Ally safe and from the first moment he saw her he knew she was special. He told himself that this was a job and it couldn’t become personal...we’ll see how well that goes.

“Where is she, Trav?” I cried as my heart jumped up into my mouth.

Jaxson knows that the relationship he sees between Ally and Jacob isn’t right. The way he treats her and the way he talks to her. He wants to help her see her true worth.

Ally’s life is in shambles and then Jaxson walks in...will he be the saving grace she needs? Will she see how much she’s worth? Will she do the right thing? Will Jaxson be able to save her before it’s too late?

Monster by Holly C. Webb is a dark, forbidden romance. Monster is different from the other books Ms Webb has written. This one more dark, more gritty. And a storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Ally is married to Jacob and on the outside looking in these two have everything... A successful, happy marriage, a beautiful home, but not everything is as it seems.

When Jaxson Stone, an ex-marine, is hired to protect Ally from a stalker new secrets come into the light. I ADORED Jaxson so much!! He's everything I love in an alpha male.

When Ally and Jaxson have to fight their growing attraction to one another it could mean game over for Ally. I can't express how much I LOVED this storyline! I'm definitely looking forward to more dark books from Ms Webb.

Monster was a PHENOMINAL book. This book gave me all the feels. One minute I was laughing and the next I was crying. Monster had everything I look for in a book…love, sadness, heartbreak, and turmoil. There were so many plot twists and main characters I do not know where I would begin to describe this book. It is a must read!

This quote pretty much sums it up,” Right now is all that matters. You are here; safe from him, safe from that life that was killing you; that’s all I care about right now.”

Monster, a new intriguing story from Webb. It's darker and more grittier than her usual stories. But the author nailed it!

A fast paced story, about a married couple, a stalker and a bodyguard.

"Love is moving mountains, just to see the person you love smile. Love isn't something you should fake, Ally. Life is too short to be sad. You deserve to be loved by someone who knows every single day, just how amazing you are, and how lucky they are to have you in their life."

Th writing was okay, cover is gorgeous and the storyline had potential.

Did not care for the heroines misguided inner monologue.

Also don’t know if the author is from across the pond, sounds like it from the vocabulary and slang used in the book. Unfortunately that is a huge pet peeve of mine. If you’re writing a story about a couple based in the states then the slang and verbatim should reflect that. I just couldn’t go on. I tried. Meh.

Holy cow, I think I'm in love with Jaxson. Poor Ally got in over her head and was deceived from the beginning and stuck with a monster. The Jaxson crosses her path and things start to look up. Some definitely scare bumps along the way but she has a strong support system in Thatcher, Teddy, Travis and Jaxson. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and definitely recommend it.

This was such a phenomenal story! Jaxson is a war hero thats somewhat broken. Ally is beaten down by a controlling husband. When these two meet, they build each other up and show each other what real love is. Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down. There was so much raw emotions from the characters. If you love dark, suspenseful stories, this one will give you all the feels.

Just ok

What was the big deal about Ally? She cries,
complains, gets angry, or is near death through the entire book!
Her beauty must be earth shattering to cause so much love and passion in men.
