I tried. Its been a while I read MC romance. I was expecting something gritty and dark. What I got is a lame,feel sorry for himself, hero.

There is no story just a very cheesy and pathetic romance. There is no character development. Big NO for me to finish.

This was an intense book. From the very beginning, it tugged at my heart and yet kept me utterly hooked.

Nix is tortured by the loss but is still ultimately a good guy despite some less than sensitive actions. He was well written and I really liked him.

Synne was a total bada**. She was different from the previous leading ladies in this series. I really liked that. But she was also just perfectly suited for Nix.

There was a certain level of suspense in this story I liked. It kind of kept me on edge in an exciting way.


This is a must-read for Betty Shreffler fans but also for anyone who likes a good MC romance.

Whoa, this is a HOT, HOT, HOT MC read! This book is about the King of the Kings, Nix. There is a lot that goes down between Castle of Kings and this book and it is a bit heartbreaking. Nix is caught up in a personal struggle for wanting to get close to the gorgeous redhead that just came into his life that is absolutely perfect and wanting to protect those he cares about. What is a guy to do?

This is the best kind of MC romance, there is the violence, the lust, the alpha male and the spirited leading lady. There is heartbreak and it is not a light story, but it is a pretty darn good read that is super hot. I liked this one the best out of the Kings series and really hope that there is more to come! 4.5 outta 5 stars from me and if you like MC romances, King of Kings is one you should definitely check out!

Who does not like a good Mc Romance?? I know I love them!! Betty, IMO, can write one hell of a MC story. This brotherhood give us action, suspense, alpha mc's and romance.

Here we have Nix's story, who is the president of the Mc. He has loves his family and his woman. But with a great mc comes enemies. Enemies that take the love of his life. This send Nix into a dark place, one he stays in for years. Until Synne walks into his life. Running from her past. Can one broken souls help each other, or will they push each other away like they do everyone else?

If you have not read one of Betty's books, I would highly recommend this author. She always writes with heart, and it shows in how good her stories are. And if you are a MC Romance fan, this is a must read for your library!!

This author knocked it out of the park with this addition to her already fabulous series!! Nix has not had it easy most of his life and it literally broke my heart. The pain and grief he goes through would have broken a lesser man. Synne has had it rough for all of her adult life but especially the last five years. She makes her escape and finds herself at the Kings doorstep. Luckily for her Liz, being the voice of reason, hires her despite her big brother’s objections. Synne is perfect for Nix and brings him back to the land of the living. Synne is the Queen to Nix’s King. When old enemies show up to wreak havoc for the Kings will Nix and his brothers be able to dispose of them once and for all? I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!!

Betty Shreffler shredded my heart with King Of Kings. She slowly taped the pieces back together again. Get ready for one emotional ride. We knew Nix's story would be explosive, I just don't think anyone expected just how explosive.

I cried, I screamed, I laughed, I swooned, and I loved. Not only was the writing phenomenal but the characters are real. They will grip your heart tight and refuse to let go. Once again, I was swept up in the MC world Betty created. I didn't want it to end and I hope we get more from this mismatched group of bikers.

King of Kings by Betty Shreffler is book Three in A Kings MC Romance Series. This is the story of Nix and Synne. I have read the previous books (Loved Them!) which added to my enjoyment and understanding of this one. So I do think you should read the other books but with that said you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Nix is the President of the Kings MC and suffered the lost of a women he loved do to a rival group. This has put him in a tail spin of sorrow but also into protective mode for those he cares for. While swirling in self destruction Synne walks into his life. Synne is no stranger to the club life so she is no weltering flower. Synne is looking for a safe place to land after walking away from her past. Nix of course is immediately attracted to her and wants her but he knows that he can only bring her danger. So a dance of fighting his emotions begin where he tried to keep away and resit. This is a dark book with violence but it also send you through a lot of emotions. Loved it! I hope to read more from this author.

My favorite book so far in this series. Extremely well written plot, sexy, steamy, awesome supporting characters, bit of drama, danger and not to mention the extremely hot cover. I was NOT prepared for the beginning of this book. The blurb was vague enough for me to be cautious going into it but I seriously did not see that coming.

I honestly feel like there isn’t anything I can saw without giving spoilers away so I will just say beware for the emotional ride you will get in this book. You will love it but it will serve some hard pills to swallow.

I loved this book The King MC books are a great read I recommend reading them in order so that you have the back ground story of the other characters. Nix and Synne are a couple like no other Nix has been through hell and Synne is just someone who is as broken but can they see beyond that and find each other or will they push each other away?

Oh my heart! Betty Shreffler what have you done? Shreffler did not hold anything back with Nix's story. She came in strong and finished stronger. She had me feeling all kinds of different things.

We all know Nix is the President of the Kings MC. He's ruthless, and alpha as they come on the outside, on the inside he is sweet as pie. (Yes I really did say that) Synne has been around the MC life for most of her's . She knows what to expect and she isn't a barbie doll, and she got that pretty red hair Nix can't forget.

When Jenna dies in Nix's arm his entire world crashed. The bullet that killed her was meant for him. He no longer believes he deserves a happy life, that everything around him gets destroyed. Synne was only looking to ease the tension between them, little did she know she wouldn't be able to quit him. Both have ugly past with different MCs, that will come back around. Can't have a future without a past.

I didn't expect Nix's story to be so utterly heartbreaking and filled with so much emotion. Thinking about it now, I really should have seen it coming. The toughest guys are usually the ones hiding the most. My heart hurt so bad for Nix. When Jenna died his everything was gone. instead of picking out engagement rings like he planned he picked out a casket. He was drowning himself in booze to easy the pain that never went away, using women to forget but could only forget for a few minutes. Synne walked in and was like nothing he had ever seen. She was beautiful, but fierce. She has fire to match that red hair.

King of Kings is the best book in the series to date! I loved everything about it! The heartache, the pain, the plot, the writing, the characters. Shreffler has created an amazing cast of characters in the Kings world and I'm beyond hooked. With each of these books they get better and better and I know that no one will come along and take Nix's place in my heart I can't wait to see Betty Shreffler try. I'll be one of the first in line for the next Kings book!

I LOVED this book sooo much! Definitely getting added to my favorites list! I forgot a little about Nix because it's been a while since we've seen him, BUT I LOVED everything about him!!! His devotion to his women and to his club is absolutely amazing. Synne was everything that I thought Nix needed in a woman too. Being the prez of a club, you need someone strong by your side, and Synne is 100% that woman!

These two had SO much chemistry!! I really enjoyed seeing their cat and mouse game at the beginning. They had some serious sparks the moment they met! Nix had so much to overcome in this book though, it was super admirable to see him try and stay away from Synne for the reasons he did. The rivalry with the Royals had a huge impact on this club and an even more major impact on Nix. Seeing the crap he went through was so heart breaking!!

Then of course we got more of Lix, Jake, Dom and Erika! I love seeing past book leads in future books and learning more about their lives. Jake and Dom played a big role in this book and their characters really made a difference! Between the amazing guys in the club, the fire between Nix and Synne and the drama with the Royals this book had EVERYTHING. It had all the twists and turns, curveballs and emotions you need. It was perfection!

What the heck did I just read.....*fans herself*. Wow was there some steamy scenes!! LOL.

Nix is the President of a motorcycle club. He is the epitome of an alpha male, is super hot and liked by all. The love of his life is killed due to a war going on with another club and Nix is thrown into a tailspin. He mourns his love and cant seem to get it together and the club is worried about him.

Enter Synne….she is running from another club looking to start a new life and happens to land a job at Nix's garage. Nix see's her for the first time and his breath is taken away. Not because she is gorgeous, which she is but its because she looks eerily similar to his lost love. Their attraction is palpable and the love scenes are off the charts smoking hot.

Of course these two are drawn to each other like magnets but Nix soon realizes that she is a target by their nemesis club...the ones who killed his first love. So like any alpha male would do, he pushes her away for her protection thinking that will keep her safe. The push and pull between these two was so much fun to read, the chemistry even though immediate had me thinking I needed a cigarette after a few scenes. It was a page turner and I was sad it was over so quickly.

This book had a ton of great supporting characters that I truly hope will be getting their own books at some point. Great start to a series!

What an amazing read. I loved it! It's emotional, sweet, action-packed, and quite romantic. At times it made me sad and at times it made me smile. I enjoyed every single minute of it.
The story is about two people with a tragic past who are beginning to realize that they still deserve happiness & love. Synne is running away from her old life and looking for new beginnings. Nix is still blaming himself for the death of his girlfriend. They both know the pain and that is probably why they understand each other so well. The moment they met, they're drawn to each other. But it's a dangerous life that they live and love might not be in cards for them. Still, it might be worth the try...
This book is a whole package and in my opinion a must-read for all book lovers. It's well-written, the characters are all amazing, and it has the emotional depth that we as readers look for in books. It makes you feel and I think such stories are the best kind.

King is the President of the King’s MC who has learnt the painful way that letting anyone close can have deadly consequences. He and his club have enemies and those enemies will stop at nothing to try and topple the club. He is dealing with the regrets and guilt by trying to numb the pain with alcohol until Synne comes into his life and makes him do the one thing he has sworn to never do again, feel.

Synne has a painful past of her own and all she wants is a fresh start. She is feisty and fiery so when she starts working with Nix the chemistry between them ignites but they are about to find out their pasts are connected in a way that is sure to cause more destruction and devastation.

This story is full of emotion, the characters are captivating and compelling and the heat explosive. It is always great to catch up with the characters in the other stories and I hope for more stories set in this world.

They were both emotionally broken people,due to their pasts, but they are trying to put it behind them, by living life as much as they can.
She comes to the shop the MC owns, and it immediately puts his back up, because of the instant attraction to her.
He is trying to keep it together and be a strong president for his club, but he’s been beat down by life. When he sees her he is trying to ignore the sexual tension between them, but it comes to a head and they come together.
A rival MC is out to try to take out the KIngs, and that is why he try’s to push her away.
The Kings take care of the rival MC and builds up the MC again.
Together they build a stronger foundation for the MC family and for their blood family.. they build a strong love for each other and for the future.

This book was a fast paced emotional read. Nix was a though but loveable alpha male character. Synne was his equal. She knew and understood MC lifestyle. Both had heartaches and suffered more than enough by the hands of others.
I do love Betty Shreffler's writing and her well crafted characters. King of Kings was an entertaining and engaging read, it swept me up.

I had to break out the crying towel for this story!!! Out of all three books in this series, this one touched me deeply. I hurt so bad for Nix and it just ripped my heart out. When Synne comes into the picture, there is suddenly hope that Nix will get another chance at love, if he'll only give in! LOL The twists and the turns in this story just made the reading experience an epic journey where I felt all the emotions! Don't pass this book up, it will punch you in the heart and then heal it right up!

I did like this book, truly I did.. There was just a lot that didn't work for me. That in no way takes away from the incredible writer this author is, I just didn't love this book.

Nix, who is the president of his MC club, has it all: his members are like family, his sister and best friend just had their first child together, and he has the woman he loves by his side. When the unthinkable happens, and the woman he loves dies in his arms, Nix is a shell of who he used to be. My heart broke for him, and I just can't imagine his pain, but the one thing that really made me angry was that two months after his girlfriend's death, he's already having sexual relations with other women. Maybe it's just me, but that made me so angry.. And I get that he initially fought his attraction with Synne, but with the short period of time between his girl dying and then falling in love with another girl so soon.. I just didn't buy it. He didn't really grieve.. He spent two months being sad and drunk, then he was over it. That just infuriated me.

Then we have Synne, who I liked but didn't altogether love. She is getting out of a five year relationship where the man she 'loves' keeps cheating on her, but she ignores it. When she's finally had enough and leaves (but not before he hits her and insinuates that if she walks out, he will find her and him and his brothers will have their 'fill' of her. Maybe it's because I don't read a lot of MC books, but the rape threats and actual sexual assault seem to mean nothing..) Synne ends up leaving and finds work with the Kings and meets Nix. She immediately attracted to him, and the two begin a sexual relationship shortly after meeting one another.

Nix tries to keep her at arms length, especially since he can't handle another woman being in danger because of the fued him and the rival gang have, but soon they are progression their undying love for one another and making a life for themselves outside of the danger.

The other thing that I had an issue with is that all the sex scenes were for Nix's pleasure only.. it just felt like that Synne was completely overshadowed by Nix's wants and needs.

I did enjoy the book, i just didn't buy their connection or their love. It seemed more like lust to me.

Maybe MC books and I just aren't made for each other, but if that subgenre is one of your favorites, then I'm sure you'll love this book! I will definitely continue to read this author's work!

First of all, be prepared because this book will break you down emotionally, but by the end you'll be stitched back together.... but it will totally be worth it!!! I do have to say that this book is my favorite in the series!!

This is book 3 in the King MC series and the first that I have read of this series. Each book can be read as a standalone. However, after reading this book, I will be going back and reading the first 2 in the series. I need to more of the MC. This story will keep you on the edge of your seats. The chemistry and attraction between Synne and Nix was so hot and intense. Loved them as a couple. Highly recommend this story.

Nix and Synne are amazing together
I had refused to read MC books until my must-click author, Betty Shreffler, decided to write one, so of course I had to go there, and I absolutely loved it!!! She has opened up a whole raft of new books that I now enjoy, but to me, Ms Shreffler will always be my number one MC author.

This is the third stand-a-lone in Ms Shreffler’s Kings MC series, but oh holy hell, you really, I mean REALLY want to start at the beginning!!! If you don’t, it’s no problem, the characters are naturally introduced as a part of the story as you begin to read through.

While the Kings MC is not an outlaw chapter, Betty Shreffler does not shy away from the brutal and violent reality of gang life, and depths of depravity that other chapters have dropped to. Our guys treat their women with love and respect, not so some of the other chapters, so when I got to see Synne’s back story, it was easy to see why she was perfect for Nix. Hell’s teeth, this chick is bad arse, rides a Harley like a demon and fights like a man. She also carries so much family loss related guilt and acknowledges that she let a man treat her like a doormat for years. But, having been a part of a gang for so long, she’s used to the life and fits in with the Kings perfectly.

And Nix, I have to say I just loved this deep and complicated man. After the woman he cared about died in his arms, he wasn’t going to carry the guilt for any more lives lost, so when another red head walks into his custom bike shop for a job months later, he tells her to leave. Like I said about the characters from the previous books showing up, Nix’s sister, Liz from Castle of Kings helps in his bike shop as well, so when she decides to hire Synne anyway, he just has to deal with it.

I loved the chemistry between Nix and Synne and for me, the best part is meeting the characters from the previous books again. I also have to say, the sex between the characters in this book is pretty adventurous! The thing is though, that the relationships, set amidst the MC background is their normal, so, Ms Shreffler has represented the characters beautifully. To do anything else is a dis-service to their story.

It was an involved read, and one that I didn’t want to put down. It was intense, dynamic and oh so hot at times because these characters live, play and love hard. It was an adrenalin rush from beginning to end and truly, it deserves more than 5 Stars. 🖤

If there's a genre that can make me start reading right away it's MC. And if it's a book written by one author that I love, then that's a hell yeah... It doesn't matter what time it is...
Betty Shreffler has written one MC series that you can't miss. You'll be hooked in a sec. Just saying.
Her writing is hot, wild, hard, raw and super hot...
King of Kings is her latest release and it's the third book from the KIngs MC series.
This book explores the lives of Nix and Synne.
Nix is the president of the Kings MC. He's very protective of his family and his brothers. He doesn't have time to fall in love again and all that crap because he had lost so much until...
Synne thought that she had found the one. The one man who would give her what she wanted. Her happily ever after but she was wrong. After getting fed up with being betrayed she said Enough.
Getting on her Harley she took off.
Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.
It was the perfect story like I knew it would be.
Superb plot, very well written, super engaging and intense.
This book just stole my heart.
While reading it, my heart was racing and my nerves on edge.
Wanna know why? Because this book was surrounded by a cloud of drama, crime, and punishment.
Chapter after chapter spiked my curiosity and that made me keep reading and reading until The End appeared on my kindle.
There were parts of the story that I wanted to to kill someone but then there were others that I wish I could be there to help them out.
This book made me realize that friendship sometimes is stronger than blood. Loyalty is earned not taken for granted.
Love is forever as well as true friendship.
These two deserved this book, deserved their stories being told.
The way these two broken souls had the pleasure of getting together a second chance was brutal and emotional.
It was perfect and I want more.
Betty Shreffler, you are the best. This book was brutal. Heck, the entire series is perfect.
It was one perfect book after the other.
And... What's next? There will be a next, right?  I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
