Long bio:
Theresa Paolo lives in Long Island, NY with her fiancé and their fish. She writes steamy small-town romances with sassy heroines, sexy heroes and feisty townspeople. When she's not writing, she's reading, brewery hopping, or daydreaming. She loves coffee, all things Christmas and fall, and making lists.
To be honest, this book just wasn’t for me. I felt confused like I was missing pages or something, because it was so instant romance that it didn’t even make sense to me and it felt like it was jumping ahead and missing details.
Edited: my original review stated that I thought this was way into the series based on the way the book was written and lacking details of lots of characters & feeling like I jumped into the book in the middle. I just found out this is the first one which makes this book make even less sense!
The Female main character was soo obnoxious. She somewhat grows on you, but she is so materialistic that it was hard for me to relate to her. I liked the male main character better.
Although this story had lots of interesting twists and turns, that "HAWT "cover is really what encouraged me, to move it up to the top of my TBR list! lol!!!!!!
I really admired Shane's courage to travel to a brand new city to meet his deceased father's family. A group of people who had never reached out or traveled to meet him. Only after his mother died, did the truth why, come out.
When he meets Olivia, who has just escaped from her sleazy, deceitful boyfriend, we clearly realize just how Shane's family's rejection has affected him. He will do just about anything to avoid a relationship. Great story!
After finding out that the life she was living with her boyfriend was nothing, but a lie Olivia heads back home to her family while she decides what direction she wants her future to take. On her way there a chance encounter with a stranger on the worst day of her life might just be the best thing to ever happen to her.
Losing his mother was devastating enough but hearing her deathbed secret has Shane heading to Morgan’s Bay to try and connect with the family he never knew he had. He is drawn to Olivia in a way he hadn’t expected but with so many questions in his present could she be the answer to his future?
This is a heartwarming story about love, family and new beginnings.
Olivia catches her fiancé cheating on her. She leaves him and heads to her parents out on Long Island. On the train from the city, she falls in love with a hunk sitting next to her. Lots of family angst ensues. They break up, they get back together. Like the shampoo bottle says - lather, rinse, repeat.
I would not have finished it if my next book had been available at the library.
Olivia and Shane meet on the train to Long Island right after Olivia has just found out her boyfriend of 3 years has been cheating on her. Shane is on his way to Morgan’s Bay to meet family he didn’t know he had. Olivia has been crying and Shane talks to her and they discover they are going to the same place. Olivia having grown up in Morgan’s Bay knows everyone but Shane doesn’t tell her who he’s going to see. Shane wants to know his family and why he never knew about them. He wants to find out about the Father he never knew since he died before Shane was born. He has to learn to let people in and accept love to enjoy the gift of life he has been given. Olivia has always dreamed of getting away from Morgan’s Bay and she wanted the material things, but as she heals from her break up she comes to realize that money doesn’t buy happiness or love. This is a very good, fast reading book. I would definitely read more books by this author and this series.
Olivia strives to always have the best and be the best. She left her small hometown of Morgan's Bay for Manhattan to live her best life. Her seemingly perfect life crumbles before her when she finds out her fiance is cheating on her. She retreats back to Morgan's Bay to figure out her life. Coincidentally, Shane is on his way to Morgan's Bay to reconnect with a family he just discovered he has. Having chance met on the train, the two of them forge a connection that only grows the more they encounter each other. Olivia, Shane and their family/friends are lovable and the story is a nice one that enforces the importance of family and finding yourself when you find yourself at a rough time in your life. This is a sweet and easy read, I liked the characters enough that I will definitely read the following books in this series.
It was a good book, very predictable from the beginning and it took a while for me to like the heroine. Her priorities were so off and there was of course character development but came mostly to the end. The hero was cute and understanding but also kept repeating his thoughts on not wanting to hurt someone IF he got ill again. Overall entertaining but not much depth to the book.

[1.5 star] okay i guess. was waiting for the heroine to punch her douchebag ex in the face actually, lol. the last chapter was kind of fast though, i don't understand the quick changeover of the hero's mind. also, i think there wasn't much history on both characters.

It was okay I was hoping it would have been better… I honestly skimmed the whole book just going to the conversation parts. Best line of the book was at the end. 🤷🏼♀️ glad it only took a couple hours.
“I don’t want to be your rebound. I want to be your end game.”
This one took me along time to get through. I DNF’d it for a while but finally pushed through. I’m glad Shane came to his sense in the end but it was a bit painful to read.

What Shane doesn't expect is uncovering secrets & lies dating back to long before his father's death. Nor could he predict the beautiful hot mess Olivia Green that he sat next to on a train to the Morgan Bay would find him opening his heart to love, that he never let into his life.
With the emotional struggles that both characters have to deal with. They rely on each other. Which is why its possible that they fall in love. As their attraction is undeniable & the town can see the chemistry explodes into passion. Will Shane tell Olivia about his remission? Will he let love into his life. Allow Olivia to make the decision if she wants to be involved with a man that could be sick again? Or will Shane make the decision for Olivia?
All Because Of You is the first book of the series. This is a story about appreciating where you came from, accepting what you can’t change and realizing that the simple things are what matter in life. This is Olivia and Shane’s story.
Olivia has it all, or at least she thinks she does. Coming from a small town she aspired to live like the McConnell family. They owned the town and the largest home in it. She couldn’t wait to graduate and move to the big city because small town life wasn’t for her. She has what she believes is the perfect life now, a rich loving boyfriend, expensive things and the best apartment in the city. She decides to spice things up one day and surprise her man only to have the tables turned in her. The lying, cheating bastard could have cared less about her and reality hits her pretty hard. Now she is heading back where she started years ago, with nothing but her pride holding her together. A stranger on the plane is the last thing she wants to deal with, but he turns out to be just what she needs .
Shane has nothing left, but the hope of a family he never knew he had. His mother just passed away and she left him with the information of his father’s family. His father passed away before he was born, but his mother kept him alive through stories and memories. He only had his Mom in his life because being a sick child didn’t warrant too many lasting friendships. Now he is all alone with nothing to lose heading to meet the family he never knew he had. He has questions and wants answers and is not planning on leaving without them. He needs to get through this flight first and encounters a stranger in distress that he can’t just ignore. She is the perfect distraction to the uncertainty heading his way.
This story is full of self discovery and heartwarming moments . The chemistry between Olivia and Shane is immediate although a little contentious at the start. He shows her her worth and how to appreciate what she has right in front of her. She shows him it is ok to let people in and even let them love you. Their journey was enjoyable to read. There is plenty of sexy time mixed in too! The secondary characters add value to the storyline and you can tell that Olivia’s childhood friends are next in line for their HEA. I will say the ending was kind of an abrupt about face, but it didn’t affect the overall storyline for me. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
All Because of You by Theresa Paolo is the first in a new series entitled Morgan's Bay. Paolo is a writer of feel-good, small town romance books and she never fails. Olivia had a surprise in store for her boyfriend, Daniel. Instead she got one when he cam home knocking against the walls on his way to their bedroom. Turns out that was happening because he was locked in a steamy embrace with another woman. Some hard truths had to be faced before she flew out of the room with a small suitcase in hand. She was devastated. Why had she not seen it? Her makeup was a mess. She was a mess, but she got on the train home anyway, only to be faced by a person wanting the seat next to her on which sat her suitcase. He was a kind stranger. He mostly left her alone but when she did open up to him she felt instantly better. By the time they made it to the end of the line she offered to split the only rideshare in town.
Shane was a good character who carried a lot of baggage. He was strong, mostly, and kind and pleasant, and boy, could he kiss. Olivia was, indeed, a mess. Not only from the breakup, but also from the fact she has not idea what she wants or where she is going. She couldn't wait to get out of this little town to the city and she had loved it there. Did she want to go back or was she happy here, knowing everyone in town, having her best friends a moment away, living with her parents? Lots of angst here, both fighting to figure out who they were and where they belonged. The reader takes that journey and enjoys every moment of it. Love Paolo's books, including this one. I recommend it.
I received a free ARC of All Because of You from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions and interpretations contained herein are my own.
All Because of You by Theresa Paolo is the first in a new series set in Morgan's Bay. This a wonderful new feel-good, small town romance book and Paolo never fails to deliver on the charm, the romance and heartwarming stories. The characters in this new series are fabulously fun and quirky, and it will be amazing to get to know them all as this series unfolds.
Olivia had a surprise in store for her boyfriend, but it turned out that the surprise was on her when she found out he was cheating on her. Her supposedly ideal if life in NYC came crashing down around her. She immediately got on the train home to Morgan’s Bay, only to meet a kind stranger, and how often does that happen in NYC.
Shane was heading to Morgan’s Bay to meet family he had no idea existed even a few weeks ago, and with no other family or friends left in the world, he is struggling to find where he belonged. Whilst Olivia felt lost and confused, she could at least help Shane find his way into town.
This was a fabulous book and I can’t wait for the rest of this new series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
(I've been very fortunate to receive a free copy of this book to review).
I wish I had fallen in love with this stories the way I usually fall in love with Theresa Paolo's books.
The magic of the author's world building is still intact. Morgan's Bay is an amazing place, and in just a few chapters I was completely charmed by the decor and most of the characters. Most of the characters, but not the heroine. I did not enjoy spending time with Olivia, who was in my eyes extremely shallow with very few redeeming qualities. And that's so bad because I almost fell in love with Shane. His backstory was quite touching and he was really endearing. I was far more invested in his storyline than in their relationship, and at times was hoping I could have more chapter focused on him and less on her.
It's just a matter of personal preference. I'm sure a lot of people will love Olivia. I sadly couldn't stand her.
Olivia came home early to surprise her boyfriend, but she was surprised instead when she found him with another woman. That led to her running out of the house quickly, crying with makeup running so she was a mess on the train to go home to Morgan's Bay with her parents. While on that train, she is sitting next to Shane, who has some baggage of his own, but he & Olivia do have a connection instantly. However, there's a lot of angst to come because both of them have had some pretty big things happen to them, and Olivia is still a hot mess. It gave this book a ton of push & pull which had me dropping colorful metaphors throughout. Will these two find their way for a shot at a new future?! You'll have to hit those one click buttons to find out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
One of the things I love about romance is when the characters show real growth over the course of the book. In All Because of You, one of the characters really had a LOT of growing up to do. I really had a hard time connecting with Olivia at first. There was a moment when I questioned if she would really see what was important in her life. Thankfully, she grew on me and grew up! Shane was my favorite character of the book. His story was heartbreaking and I was rooting for him to find his home. I did ultimately love these two together. The secondary characters rounded out the story very nicely. Olivia's dad was hysterical. I can't wait to read Milo's story next! I do recommend picking this one up.
What a let down. The cover is the best thing about the book. Olivia was shallow and doesn’t realize it until you’re 80% into the book! That’s a long time to mostly dislike the main character. Shane was immature and stupid when it came to relationships of all sorts. He thought never forming one was better then possibly hurting that person by dying. I mean you could be perfectly healthy and still die. Such immature logic. So needless to say, the book was very ho hum, boring. It was somewhat intriguing not knowing about Shane’s dad and then the random ring being found moment. But even that explanation was very meh. Not going to continue this series for sure. Not worth the time spent reading.
Olivia has decided to move back home to her parents in Morgan's Bay after finding out that her boyfriend was having an affair. When Shane's mother was dying she told him about his father who died before he was born had come from a wealthy family so he sets out to Long Island to spend time with the family that he didn't know about. When Olivia and Shane meet on a train little did they know that it would change there lives. This is a brilliant book and so well written by Theresa Paolo. I definitely recommend you read this book as it is well worth it. I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy of this book.
Morgan’s Bay is a beautiful small town where everyone knows your name, and your business. After a humiliating breakup, Olivia has no choice but to return home with her tail between her legs. Shane McConnell is on a mission to get to know a family he didn’t know he had! The two meet on a train and thus begins a story about secrets, getting to know yourself and coming to terms with life. The characters were well written and I really felt for Shane, his grandfather is a piece of work! But the relationship between Olivia and Shane was very sweet, with some hot moments in there too.
Really enjoyed it and can’t wait to return to Morgans Bay
What a remarkable story about finding family, oneself, and love after losing everyone. Olivia and Shane met by fate on the train ride to Morgan's Bay. Neither one knew how their life would impact the other on that fateful day. It was fun watching Olivia grow up and gain strength in who she was and what she really wanted and needed in life.
I enjoyed all of the secrets and trying to figure out how the story would end. This is one of my favorite stories I have read this year and I cannot wait for the next book to be published. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Olivia thought she had it all a great job and a boyfriend who has a lot of money. Olivia got her boyfriend cheating on her and headed back home to her small town where her parents live. Shane had nothing when he came to Morgan's Bay- no money, no job and no friends. Shane is hoping to find a family when he arrives in Morgan's Bay. When Olivia and Shane meet they need to decide what is the most important thing that they need to have in their lives. This was a great small-town romance read and can't wait for the next book in this series to come out.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
