Snow Angel: "Old secrets, new lies"

As a child, Jill read so obsessively she got kicked out of the school library. But her passion for words continued. She graduated in English Literature and Theatre Studies from the University of Wales and set up a theatre company. Since then, as an actor, director, teacher, writer and journalist, she’s worked in fifteen countries. She learnt something from each one.
Now, with her husband and three dogs, Jill lives in Switzerland, a country with four languages and mountains of new words.
She works as a language trainer all over Europe, collaborates with Nuance Words and Triskele Books, and contributes regularly to Words with JAM magazine. But most of the time, she writes. And reads.

Behind Closed Doors is the first Beatrice Stubbs novel, a European crime series set in compelling locations all over the Continent.

I love this series! I am going to buy and read the other four books. Beatrice Stubbs took me around the world, and I was glad to go there with her. The Detective turned Private Investigation was one of the most interesting characters I have met while reading a book.

The storylines, plots, settings, and characters were well-developed and believable. I bought the first three books in the series on audio. I was captivated and had to continue reading the series.

I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so I will just say that it is a great read and well worth the effort!

A great discover

I happened upon the Beatrice Stubbs series while looking for something new to read and I am glad I did. Stubbs is retiring from her job as a DCI and looking for something to do. Of course she got caught up in solving mysteries flying all over Europe from her town outside of London. Interesting characters, some humor, and travel details. My kind of book.

Crazy loveable and great adventure. So human all the characters and so diverse. Laugh out loud and holding and breath taking moments. Thank you JJ I’m in it for the long haul x

I read all 12 of the Beatrice Stubbs books and enjoyed each one. Beatrice is portrayed very realistically and the books move along fairly quickly.

Well done, J.J. Marsh, you did it again. My only disappointment with this set of three was that it came to an end. Roll on Boxset Four....
