I wasn’t the damsel in distress type. And yet here I was, wrapped up in a shit-show of epic proportions, with a gang of bad guys after me and a leak somewhere in the ranks of the police department charged with keeping me safe. The next thing I know, I’m holed up in a talking house with Brian, the butter-voiced superhero who ‘rescued’ me against my will. He has a hard-as-steel body and even harder hands, but there’s something about him I just can’t resist. I’ve never needed anyone, and I don’t want to start now, but when he tells me to call him Daddy, I almost believe it when he says he can keep me safe…

Almost…

I am a full-time mom to two sassy, strong-willed, loveable little girls. What can I say? They take after their Mama. I’m on the wrong side of 30, and I have been married to my best friend for over ten years and I couldn’t imagine doing life with anyone else by my side. We are Southern California transplants, currently residing in a very rural part of the east coast. I have two crazy dogs that I adore, even though they drive me out of my ever-loving mind most days.

Writing and graphic design consume all of my spare time and I could not be happier. This journey I am on is a crazy one, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

This story walks a fine balance, and there are times it tips over to one side or the other. There were a couple of scenes that didn’t quite sit perfectly right with me, but it helped being able to live in Brian’s thoughts during some of those moments. I don’t like bratty heroines in Lifestyle stories. However, what I’m learning I dislike even more is seeing women under extreme emotional stress and reacting in what I consider a “normal” way to those stresses being accused of being a brat. The authors did an excellent job showing us Brian’s confusion between his Daddy desire to punish Angela for apparent self-destructive behavior and the reality that she’s reacting to stressors that he triggered. There’s explosive chemistry between this pair and I enjoyed their story very much. Now, I think I need to investigate the story of a couple of our supporting cast.
I read this story in the original Super Daddies anthology.

WITHOUT RULES, CHAOS ENSUES

Once again, the writing duo of Allysa Hart and Rayanna Jamison has created a superhero, super daddy tale. While this series is Fantastical Daddy Doms, I would not consider it an age-play storyline, but more speech and behavior of Daddy-little girl talk.

The story will have our superhero, Brian, rescuing the damsel in distress, Angela Shue, from thugs who are after Donnie and plan to get to him through her. But Brian is there to rescue her, whether she wants it or not—and she does fight him on it—she just doesn’t get her way.

“Listen to me, little girl. You are under my protection now, and that means I will do near anything to keep you safe and healthy. That includes keeping you out of harm’s way and taking care of your needs. I may not be your father, but it’s painfully obvious that you would benefit greatly from a little Daddy-style discipline. So, don’t test me.”

The story has the good, the bad, the ugly, and the secrets of people. It doesn’t take long for Brian to realize that Angela isn’t safe, even in police protection, and somewhere, there is a leak that places her life in jeopardy. The only thing left to do is take her to his place, where no one knows exist. The problem, he is a very private individual with his own secrets, and now he is bringing her into his home. With the help of Marshall, can they keep Angela safe, even from herself?

“He was so much more than muscles and a cape. He was kind, considerate, and caring. He was the first person I’d met who actually gave something of himself to help other people. He didn’t deserve to be saddled with babysitting brats.”

The story has plenty of angst, misunderstandings, clashes, and eventually will have Brian disciplining a naughty Angela who he is trying to help. The more time they are together, the closer he becomes to her and sees she needs his dominance, and the Daddy Dom in him is more than willing to give it to her. But what happens when Angela learns he knows more about her and her situation than she even does? She feels betrayed and acts defiant, destructive, and leaves—and that is when the danger really begins. Can Brian rescue his angel and get her back on the path of safety?

“Going from being a scientist to a superhero is a big leap. And of course, Brian doesn’t do anything halfway.”

The story has great chemistry between Brian and Angela, with many spankings and disciplines. What Brian shows his little girl is that he is here for her, unlike her foster families, he isn’t throwing her away when she is a brat or disobeys. Daddies have other ways of making their little girl's behavior better and Brian isn’t afraid to discipline and then show her love.

“Above all, I want you to remember that I love you, I will protect you, I will defend you, and you better believe I will punish you each and every time it becomes necessary. No matter what.”

The story was previously featured under the title of Super Daddy in the Super Daddies—A Naughty Nerdy Romantic Comedy Anthology in 2019.

When trusting your gut is not always right.
Angela was locking up her porn shop when there was loud knocking came from the door. When she went to have a look they told her they were police but something was off. They were asking about the man who worked for her sometimes. So when she went to get his paperwork she made sure to keep the door locked. Just when she went around the corner there was a loud crash and then Angela was grabbed by a man who was holding her tight. He told her the men outside were not police and she had 2 minutes to pack a bag. Angela is not impressed and tries to fight this masked cape crusader off her and quickly get thrown over his shoulder and smacked on the bottom to put her in her place.
Brian is not impressed why doesn't she see he is there to help her get to a safe house so the police can look after her???? She is being a royal pain in his butt and he thinks she needs to know who is in charge but at least once he drops her of to the safe house she was someone else's problem.
But it doesn't happen that way
what would happen between these two when they are alone together in Brian's home.
This is a great fast read. I really enjoyed there getting to know one another. I do like a feisty woman who knows what she wants and likes. And Brian is the man to give her what she wants.

Angela owned a pawn shop in a dark part of town. Just after locking up and going upstairs to her apartment she heard LOUD banging at the door. Sneaking down the stairs she saw a set of headlights shining through the glass of the door demanding she open it. They claimed to be the police looking for her only employee Donnie who had called out sick. Then out of nowhere, a man in a cape grabbed her around the waist, hauled her upstairs, gave her a two-minute deadline to grab what she felt was irreplaceable before they left for her own protection. That started this adventure. What a great way to spend an afternoon curled up with an entertaining story that just took me away.

Angela and Brian meet under stressful circumstances. Angela is running for her life and does not want to be pegged as the damsel in distress. Brian is the guy to keep her safe until the danger is past. However, when the chemistry between these two continues to heat up well we know that it will relieve itself at some point. This book contains thoughts and scenes that left me unsure of the story and the characters. Overall though, I enjoyed reading the whole story and could understand the moments I questioned previously. It all came out in the wash.

Brian has superhuman powers. When he saves a woman from bad guys, he knows she needs a superhero to keep her safe. It has been a while since he could be a daddy to someone and she definitely needs one - him. Keeping her in his house and away from danger is not easy, but his hard hand and spoon should do the trick. This is a cute spanking romance

Angela and Daddy Brian have incredible chemistry with a great story. Angela is sassy and has a great personality. I think at times calling Angela a brat. and punishing accordingly, when her reaction was reasonable to her stressors was a bit much. Overall this is a great DDlg steamy superhero romance.

As always

This author always delivers the best reads. This story is no different. Brian and Angela had a rough beginning but her Super Hero would always protect and discipline her as she quickly found out. Marshal his super cool talking house was a bonus for me, don’t let anyone tell you AI’s don’t have a sense of humor!

This is a charming story full of humour even though it is predicated on a threat to Angel’s life. Brian is a superhero and learning how that came about was fascinating. It was fun to see Stella and Bobby again and find out Stella’s part in Brian’s story. A really fun book and well worth reading.

He’s a super

Brian is a supe. Saving unsuspecting damsels in distress like Angela. He takes her bratty self home with him. Something he doesn’t do. Supers and relationships don’t mix.

I liked the supe aspect but not the bratty punishment part.

A fairly slow story with scenes that seem forced. Like the one where Angela smokes in her room, despite being told she couldn't do that. And when she stead fastly refuses to listen to Brian. While I enjoy the stories in this series, this one just didn't quite measure up.

Great read

I love this series. The Daddies in each will definitely bring out the little girl in you and have you wishing for a Daddy of your own. Brian was an excellent Daddy and gave his little Angel everything that she needed, but she was definitely a handful.

Disappointing

Sorry to say, this story wasn't as enjoyable as the others in the series. I was glad that Brian got his own story; however, he wasn't very heroic. Angela is a true survivor and deserves her HEA; however, this ending isn't it.

I reviewed this when it was part of Super Daddies: A Naughty Nerdy Romantic Comedy Anthology. Because not much appears to have changed, I'm going to leave my original review below.

I so hated "Taming Teri" (their story in Witness Protection Program), in which the male co-worker beats, humiliates, and rapes his female co-worker, who has never in her life been in a BDSM club or done a scene, AFTER she says her safe word, that I almost didn't read this story. I wish I hadn't. Once again we have a "hero" who can't bother to explain anything to the heroine; kidnaps her against her will; asks her to trust him even though she knows nothing about him; locks her up without telling her that he's doing so; has meetings with people about her own future without her; and doesn't tell her a vital piece of information she more than has a right to know (this is yet another book when the h is punished if she lies, but the H can or keep secrets with impunity). And somehow it ends up being her fault , and he never apologizes. These authors did not convince me that she "deserved" her punishment.

And this is yet another story in which the H says he would never "hit" the h and then he does. There is NO difference between hitting and spanking when both are not consensual. Brian isn't as OTT as he might be, his punishments weren't as harsh (though, he also doesn't prep her anally), and it did get more consensual, but this story is very, very unpleasant, particularly when he insists upon beating her with a spoon because, I don't know, it "will clear the air"?

Finally, details are missing; for example, at one point Brian mentions her outfit, but we have no idea what she has on; and we don't hear the conversation Brian has with her when she calls herself a "bad girl," though it's referred to. I did like Angela's strength and the humor of the "house," however. Note: This story features some of the same characters as Robot Daddy.

2 stars.
