3.5 STARS!
My first by this author and it won't be my last. The easy charm of the writing had me eating it up in a day. Exhibit A:
Where this one fell short, however, was in the details. I had to squint sideways at a lot of what was going on. But hey, I was here for the romance and it was solid, so I'm rounding up!

He also wore aviators. Inside. It's always sunny in Doucheville.LOL, I'm still giggling. And the premise of being undercover was so well done. I really felt the stress and pressure that the main characters were under, and the chemistry between them? Wow. 🥵

Two undercover officers from different agencies trying to find their way in a drug cartel for different reasons. One searches for her brother, the other to bring down the entire cartel.
Ines comes from a family of cops. Being the only female in the family means that she has a handful of brothers at home not liking her cover story or what she is being asked to do, but she will do anything to find her missing brother.
Brody is a DEA agent deep undercover trying to bring down the entire cartel. He is a lone wolf and the last thing he needs is any sort of emotional entanglement. When he witnesses the murder of Ines’ brother, he can’t just walk away.
Can they find any sort of happiness knowing they both are living a double life? Or will the cartel be the straw that breaks so much more than their proverbial backs? Their interactions are steamy, the characters felt real, and I read the book in a day, I couldn’t put it down! I definitely enjoyed the story and wonder now if it will continue in future stories...

I truly enjoyed reading Ines and Brody's story. I never knew what would happen next in their undercover adventure. Their story was true to heart how undercover agents can be pulled under, and not be sure of who they are anymore until they meet that person that makes them remember who they are and want to be. I loved the danger and attraction that pulled these two together. What a way to end the story , by having the kick ass female save her man's life. Awesome story.

This book reads so fast you might want to have your favorite drink & snack handy because you aren’t going to want leave it.
A strong female lead and and equally strong hero make up this suspense filled story. Just enough hot sex and plenty of action rounds out this action packed story.

~ Nothing is ever what it seems ~
Brody has been undercover for so long, so deep into his character, that he sometimes loses touch with reality, especially with the nasty tasks he has been asked to perform to prove himself in order to rise up in the ranks of the cartel he’s infiltrated. Until the girlfriend of his boss’ nephew gets his attention and raises a few flags in his mind. He finds himself drawn to her, wondering why she is with that sniveling and entitled man-child.
What he is not privy to is the fact that Ines is actually undercover Chicago PD, there with a specific goal of her own…one which could mean life and death to a loved one. And time is ticking…
Very enjoyable characters, undercover action and suspense as well a great first read of a series I want to follow up!

This was a good read. There was romance but also filled with a suspenseful and action-packed storyline. I do look forward to reading about Victor and Estelle.

Ok, feel better now, and absolutely loved this story.
Felt very real, the struggle Brody faced from being undercover for so long, the things he had to do and see have made him a changed man. He wasn't ready for Ines at all and knew his secret was gonna push them apart!
Ines was changed as well, and she just had a brief glimpse of how hard his life had been. I have to say she was pretty awesome, they make a great pair and I LOVED how this story played out. It had all the emotions, was super sexy and the action kept me glued to my kindle until the end.
Very highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good read. Contemporary, suspense, no matter what you read, you will love this one, guaranteed!

Love Undercover is a captivating and entertaining suspenseful story. The characters are interesting and realistic, their chemistry burns fast but there is still a lot of sexual tension between the two characters. I enjoy reading a book that fill of drama and the characters are very believable. This is the first book of Ms. Shaw I have read but it will not be my last one to read. I'm so happy and excited that I won this book in a contest it's so entertaining.

Brody is undercover with the Cartel as Tomas, working to take down the organization. Ines is undercover at one of the Cartel's businesses as Gabriella, looking for her brother, also a cop, who was investigating the cartel. They find themselves drawn to each other, but that could compromise their missions, or worse, their lives. It is a hot steamy read, laid over a well-executed police procedural. a strong 4.5 stars

The attraction between the two is palpable, and could get the both of them killed. And though they both try to fight it, situations continue to keep throwing them together. A very good story.

This book made my heart pound so hard, there is so much suspense in it! IN MY OPINION this is one of LK Shaw's best works. For me it is one of the best books I read this year. It brought me out of my comfort zone a bit and had my heart pounding. If you love suspense and strong female characters, this is the book for you. From a True Fan... Pam James

This book had me hooked! Twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat and unable to put the book down. Ines and Brody are both strong, undercover agents deep in with the cartel which left me holding my breath at times. Hot, steamy, and suspenseful.

I love how this story turned the bad situation into an HEA plus. I love the constant going on in the story the kept you on the edge of your seat till the end and even then I want to see if there is another book in a series to this.

I loved this story by LK Shaw. Ines and Brody are both very strong characters and it was great to read their story with all the twists and turns in this story. I totally got into it and couldn't put it down. I would love to see LK write more stories like this!!! Great job!!

Love Undercover by L. K. Shaw Is a wonderful story. This is a wonderful sart to a brand new series and author for me. I fell in love with this brand new series with the strong characters and the wonderful story line. I can not wait to see what comes next and I highly recommend this story to everyone.

Love Undercover prides itself on intrigue. Shaw makes sure there's always a twist that turns out to be bigger than the one that came before. Everyone has an agenda and it's up to the reader to figure out the score. Ines and Brody are playing a dangerous game in a world made up of booby traps, boogeyman and cutthroat drama. Love Undercover is my first LK Shaw read and it's an adrenaline rush. From nailbiting action, breathtaking, danger Shaw delivers an intense, edge of your seat, page turner.

Admittedly I Dnf'd at 52%. I just couldn't take it anymore.
Boring, jumpy, editing errors, all kept me from feeling any connection to any of the characters.
The story is Slow paced and filled with Clichés.
Unfortunately, I actually already own the 2nd book in this series. I sincerely doubt I will ever read it.

OH MY HELL! There are no words to truly convey my feelings on Love Undercover, but I'll try to do so anyway without spoilers, but it means this review will be short & sweet. Ines comes from a long line of cops, all them male though, which makes it hard to do anything that a handful of brothers deem dangerous. So when she asked to go undercover to infiltrate a dangerous cartel, they don't love what she's being asked to do by the Chicago PD, but they have a missing brother out there that she's just as willing to do anything to find him. Brody is a DEA agent, who has been deep undercover for a such a long time, that he forgets who he is more & more. That is, until Ines showed up as his boss' nephew's girlfriend, setting off red flags in his head. He feels a strong attraction for Ines, but he can't afford any complications, because it's literally their lives on the line. Unfortunately, that doesn't change the fact that they have such a potent chemistry, it won't be denied, and in between making sure they don't end up dead, they're setting stuff on fire during sexy times. And you already know that a story like this is going to have some HUGE twists, and there were, so HUGE that I lost all sense of communicating except dropping loud f-bombs. I can say this, I feel like Ines & Brody are actual friends of mine, so I'm hoping that there will be more of them in future stories, since Love Undercover kicks off the Covert Liaisons series with a big bang! So, do yourself a solid, and one click this super exciting story that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Ines is strong, fiery and determined, whilst Brody is haunted, guilt ridden and inherently good. They are wonderfully written characters who don’t even realise where the line between them is drawn, whilst having to trust their instincts to guide them.
The heady mix of passion and the race to the conclusion kept me reading from the first page until the very end in one sitting. I loved it!

WOW. This book is so full of danger and suspense that I was pulled in from the moment I read the blurb! I loved watching Ines try to fight her attraction to Brody. She's undercover and trying to take down the cartel, and falling for "one of the cartel members" while trying to find out what happened to her brother isn't something she's sure she can manage. Brody is also undercover and doesn't want to have any entanglements, but he can't fight their attraction either! This is such an amazing, emotional adventure! Loved it!

This story moves quickly, but in a way that made it hard to put the book down. I was engrossed for several hours, trying to figure out the which way the story would go next. While it certainly had its sad moments, the action and thrills made for exciting reading. I liked that the author tried to show as many sides as possible when it came to undercover work.
I recommend this book, and look forward to the next in the series and more from the Rodriguez clan.

Ms. Shaw, it seems, can write so well in so many genres. Another of my favorites, romantic suspense, she has nailed it. I was biting my nails and fanning my face while reading about under cover agents trying to bring down a cartel, find a brother, but romance... who has time for that? So glad Ms. Shaw found a way to bring some goodness to the agents who work so hard for justice. I read this book unashamedly, in one sitting, or laying. I did not turn the light off until the wee hours of the morning! If you love your sleep, don't start this when you go to bed!
