Assassins #3

Assassin's Heart

Rate this book
My brother believes he made me a killer. The truth is, I’ve always been different. I can smile while sliding a knife between your ribs—and not feel a moment of regret.

Until Leah.

A man like me shouldn’t have a family. But the minute I opened my eyes from a coma and saw her, I knew I’d forever be tied to her. A nurse who nurtures life. A mother.

I’ve watched her for two years, unable to stop but refusing to give in to the need to have her. To love her. Until the night her daughter is taken. I’ll light up the world to get Leah’s child back to her.

And then I’ll walk away for good. Not because it’s the right thing to do, but because I know how she’ll look at me after seeing who I truly am.

She’ll see the murderer inside me. And God help me, but she’ll be right.

description I enjoyed this couple a lot more than I did the previous couple. 🙌 Remi was a decent guy who treated Leah respectfully. 💑 He was all in from the start and there wasn't very much resistance from Leah. 💏 This author has an ease to her writing that makes it very enjoyable to read. 👍 The story flowed well. 👍 The plot was engaging. 👀 There was a nice amount of steam. 🔥 There was no OW or OM drama. 👐 It is never stated in black and white whether Remi was celibate for the eighteen months he was watching over Leah. 😳 I felt that he probably was since he was taken with her. 🙊 But if you are a reader who likes that spelled out for you, then you'll be disappointed in that regard. 🙈 Personally, I would have liked some confirmation myself...but what can you do? 🙏 Again in this book, we have a good cast of secondary characters. 👫👤👫 A cute kid. 👧 Remi's brothers, and Abby. 👩 Last, it was all wrapped up in a decent happy for now. 👍👍

Side Note: There were a couple of plot holes in this one that didn't overly bother me. I found them a bit amusing. Both pertained to her job. Like, HOW did she go to school to be a nurse in the first place? Especially given her situation. 👀

ALC received from Audibly Addicted for an honest review

I liked Leah and Remi in the first 2 books in this series , and now we have their story, and I liked it better than the first two.

We are back with the Agozi brothers and all their lives entail, and I liked seeing them awhile down the track from the other books.

Hunter and East bring these stories to life and leave me wanting more.

I need Eli's story, stat!

Assassin's Heart by Ella Sheridan is book Three in the Assassins Series. This is the story of Remi and Leah. I have read the previous books and we did meet Remi along with Leah in the previous book, so that added to my enjoyment and understanding of this one. I did feel you probably could make this a standalone book if wish to do so.
Leah is a nurse who was apart of the team that was there for Remi when he woke up from a coma. Remi knew from his first site of Leah that he had feelings for her but felt he was not a good man and could not be a part of the good women that Leah and her daughter are. But he wouldn't let his feelings rest and took it upon himself to watch her from afar for the last few years to make sure she was always safe until the day came when her daughter went missing. Now he has come forward to help her get her back and plans to go back into the background but Leah isn't so easy to walk away from now.
Really enjoyed their story and hope to read more from this author.

The third book in the series is The Assassin's Heart Which is a story of Remi and The nurse, Leah who treated him when he was shotted by the bullet. I think you can read this book stand alone as well. Though obviously, It would be better if you read the series from the start But as the focus of the characters has been changed so, you can read this stand-alone if you want.

Their story started when Remi opened his eyes from an unconscious mind and see The woman, her saviour standing in front of him and he falls in love with her with just the first sight. Though, he didn't want her to be part of her gang so he left her due to his insecurities but he never stopped keeping tabs of her or you can say loving her and when he came to know that the daughter of the woman he loved has been kidnapped he leaves no stones unturned to find her daughter.
Leah didn't want that the Assassin helps. She never liked them, the cruel world they live in. They never cared about anything and anyone and even if they cared they are all dead. They are failed to protect them. she just wanted her daughter back and normal life to live in. Is it too hard to get one?

This story is great and as the pages turned the story is getting more thrilling and started containing more action. The author writes so amazingly that I was feeling that I can connect to the characters. The portrait of the little girl in the Book has taken away my heart. This book is great. Worth reading it!

4.5 stars!

I started reading this book as soon as I had finished reading the second book! I was really excited about who the main characters were going to be because their story started in the first book, so I couldn’t wait to read more of their story! After reading this book, I can say that I really enjoyed it! In fact, I enjoyed it more than the first book, but as much as the second book! The plot kept me intrigued and wanting to read on to find out what was going to happen next! It developed at the perfect pace as well! There was also plenty of action and suspense to keep the plot interesting and it developed it nicely! There was plenty of romance in the plot as well and it allowed for quite a few seriously hot scenes between the two main characters! The ending was left at the perfect place as well, but I still felt like there was more to the characters story! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Leah was the main female character, and in this book she was in a panic and she did go through a lot! I completely understood why Leah was panicked and it was easy to see how much she loved her daughter and how much she wanted to protect her and keep her safe! Leah also grew a lot in this book and she did come a long way in a short space of time! She was easy for me to connect with as well! Remi was the main male character and love interest of Leah! I loved Remi a lot in this book! I got to know more about him and understand him a bit more! He was also very rough, but did have a lot of love! I felt like Leah taught Remi a lot as well and she made him think about what he really wanted in his life and what was important! Leah changed everything for Remi and he was very protective of both her and her daughter! I wasn’t sure whose point of view this book was going to be written from because the first book was written from the female character’s point of view and then the second book was written from only the male character’s point of view! I’m really happy that this book was written from both Leah and Remi’s point of views because it allowed for more things to happen in the plot, especially as they did do some things apart and did have their own goals! It helped me connect and understand Leah and Remi too! I’m not sure if there’s going to be more books in this series because I can’t find any information on Goodreads and there wasn’t anything at the end of this book! There’s still one brother that’s to have his story told, but maybe we’ll get it as part of another series or something! I was also really excited when I got to the end of this book and it said that there’s going to be a book for King and Charlotte! I can’t wait for it to release and I’ll definitely be reading it and checking out the other books in that series! I also love the cover for this book! I love how well it suits the covers for the first two books and it suits the feel of the book! The cover image and models are also the perfect Leah and Remi!

Oh Jeremiah AKA, 'Remi' —Assassin by birthright and the loyalest of brothers. Remi tiptoes that fine line between distance and obsession—deliberate and impulsive. Only Remi can justify his reckless behavior because he is damn good at what he does.

Remi and his brothers live by a strict code.
Targets are always justified.
Protect women and children, above all else.

Leah is so much more than another job—she is a light that Remi cannot stay away from. Leah is effortlessly beautiful, a single mother and hardworking nurse hiding from a past out of her control. The past catches up to Leah, taking advantage of her only weakness—her little girl.

Remi won't let her fight alone. Leah's brain warns her to be cautious, while her heart, her body, screams to hold onto Remi and never, ever let go.

Remi's brothers are not pleased by another reckless decision. Leah was in there life once and shit hit the fan. The brothers revert to the code, while emotion and business blur for Remi...

Leah's fight becomes his...
Remi will risk it all to make it right.

So Why Not 5 Stars?
I've never read any of the other books. I highly recommend reading those before you dive into this book. Remi and Leah have an intense connection when they "first meet" in this book, but they've already met, so it comes off insta-lovey if you don't read the other books first. My fault.

Remi was perfect balance between passionate and protective without being a ridic-caveman, which I can appreciate. Leah was a headstrong character, a real smart cookie that one.

Dialogue was on point throughout the book, especially the banter between brothers. Secondary characters all played a role and added to the plot. Child character wasn't there all the time but still incorporated into the story. Plot was well thought out with a couple twists. Conflict in this story was mild, more background noise with the relationship at the forefront.

Sexy time scenes were full of delicious dirty words, mild angst, and just enough intimacy--coughhh--and 'poor' contraceptive judgement.

Overall it was a great book.
I plan to dive into the series.

So if you're looking for a sexy assassin with high morals and headstrong damsel in over her head with an undeniable connection defying all logic then you will wanna check out this book. Go now.

If you like a fast paced, intense, romantic suspense with a fair amount of action and scorching chemistry, then you will love this book. Both Remi and Leah were introduced in Assassin’s Mark and this is their story. These two are quite the unlikely pair. An assassin and a nurse. One takes lives while the other saves lives. Remi is a killer who deems himself as not good enough for Leah and is also a bit of a stalker. Okay, he is a full on stalker - loving and watching Leah at a distance because he refuses to bring her and her daughter into his dark life. He is the ultimate alpha male - commanding, obsessive, protective, and of course sexy. I couldn’t help but love him. Leah is a single mom and a nurse and you can see just how caring and protective she is of her daughter. Her life is completely wrecked when her daughter is kidnapped and she must rely on Remi and his brothers to help her. She is a strong heroine and like Remi, her past is traumatic and I found my heart breaking for her many times over. This book is told from a dual POV which I really liked - I always love getting a peak into the mind of a dark hero, but I also enjoyed getting to witness Leah’s mindset. It was also good to see Levi and Abby again! The book has a lot of suspense, some kindle-melting scenes, and also a bit of sweetness. It is the 3rd book in this author’s Assassin series and if you liked the previous books, then you will enjoy Assassin’s Heart. I’ve read a complimentary version of this book.

Oh, I liked this book- 4.5 outta 5 read! We have gotten Levi's story in the first couple of books in the series and now it is Remi's turn and man this guy is a brute, but he is a brute in love. Not gonna lie, he is a complete and total freaking stalker, but he stays in the distance just watching and not doing anything (not sure if that makes it better). I never thought I would justify a stalker, but man does Ella Sheridan have me doing it!

My analysis- Remi just wants to be loved and have a family, which broke my freaking heart.

For all his crazy stalker-ish ways, I freaking adored Remi. He was definitely a predator, but man could he be loving and sweet, especially to Leah's daughter. Leah is freaking awesome and I totally dig the reason why she shys away from Remi (other than the stalker-ish ways). I think it was an interesting concept that Ella Sheridan came up with and I am 100% behind it!

All in all, I liked having Remi and Leah the main characters. I am used to it being Levi and Abby, but am happy that Remi is getting his story told and how everything played out! I totally recommend this book if you have read the other books in the series and loved them too. This possibly could be a standalone, but it would be so much better getting the backstory of all of the characters!

Now when is Eli's story coming?!

Note: I received an ARC of this book to read and review honestly.

Remi and Leah's story started at the beginning of the series when Remi was shot and Leah was the nurse kidnapped to help hem heal.
Now after 18 months Remi is following Leah, making sure she is safe but also to keep his feels at bay. When Leah gets home Remi notices that her front door is open and he follows her inside. Her home has been ransacked and her six-year-old daughter is missing.
Leah can't believe what she is seeing, people from her past have found her. Where is her daughter and where did Remi come from? She has been dreaming about Remi since she last saw him and now here he is.
Can he help her find her daughter without losing her heart? Will Remi and his brother offer to help her? Will Remi see that he can be what Leah and Brooke need for the future?
I loved the other stories in this series but Remi and Leah have stolen my heart. I have laughed, cried and didn't want to put my kindle down while reading. I hope we get Eli's story next. This series is fun and family and one you can not miss.

Remi is an assassin along with his brothers Levi and Eli. He met Leah in the hospital after he woke from a coma. Leah is a nurse with a six year old daughter named Brooke. Remi keeps tabs on Leah so when he notices something wrong he knows he has to step in and get Leah to trust him and his brothers. Leah has a past that puts a twist on the story. Her daughter is kidnapped and she needs someone to help her get her back. The brother's story of how and why they became assassins comes out. A great read and awesome series.

He will burn down the world to get back her daughter, but will he be able to walk away when he does?

Holy heck but Assassin's Heart is an intense book. It tells the story of Remi and Leah. Remi is Levi's younger brother and Leah is a nurse who was kidnapped by Levi to look after Remi in an earlier book in the series. Remi is a man who has darker thoughts and is okay with doing darker things, like murdering people when needed. He fell in love with Leah but realizes that he cannot be in her life because of who he is. That does not mean that he completely forgets about her. Oh no!!! This man is still a protective and possessive Alpha thru and thru. So he ensures that Leah and her daughter Brooke are watched over and kept safe. That is until the one night that Brooke is kidnapped and Remi is the one who can get her back. However, he has to convince Leah that he can first and that she needs to come with him to keep her safe also. Well Leah does go with him and before long these two are really burning up the pages with their scenes. But Remi needs to get Brooke back and he is ready to tear down the world and destroy anyone who stands in his way of his mission.

This story is filled with a lot of action, drama, suspense, some humor and of course a lot of smoking hot chemistry. The book is well written with a captivating story-line that you cannot put down and characters that have a lot of depth and are multi-dimensional. As you fall in love with Levi, you will admire Leah and you will adore Brooke. This is a

"I don't love you, Leah."
"What I feel for you isn't anything as fragile as love." Reaching up, he gripped my jaw, his thumbs brushing my lips. "I thought that's what it was for the longest time, but not now. I'm not even sure there's a word powerful enough to describe what I feel for you. I can't breathe without you. I can't think. I can't bear to think about you not being with me; I think it might destroy me if we have to go back to living without you as a part of me. I need you, Leah. You're mine."

HEAT LEVEL: 🔥🔥🔥🔥

This book is my favorite in the series. Jeremiah (Remi), the middle child who feels so deeply and is protective of Leah and Brooke and who is willing to be patient and tender yet fierce and rugged against the people posing as a threat to the woman he loves. I love the foreign language endearment that he uses for her, I love how untrusting Leah was in the beginning yet could not deny the connection she has with Remi, I love how Remi and Brooke (Lea's daughter) relationship blossoms from safety and trust. And of course, the action-packed, mystery-filled plot is ever present in the book!

If you are looking for a book to pull you in and keep you entertained, this is the book you want. Book 3 in the series, it can stand alone, but is better if you listen in order. Remi is back after being shot in the first book, and he is captivated by Leah, the nurse who healed him. It's 18 months later and he is following her and loving her from afar. That is until she comes home one day to find her daughter kidnapped. Remi is there in a flash, and the story takes off. Not only does Ella Sheridan give us an engaging plot, but the chemistry between Remi and Leah is off the charts. Levi, Remi and Eli have that dangerous enticement that kept me captivated. I love the bad boys who have a heart! And the story flows with exciting suspense. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to see what Sheridan has coming up next!

The narration for this is impeccable. Stella Hunter has an incredible voice and she brings it all out with Leah. The fear, the passion, the motherly instinct all come through with her inflections. Jason Clarke comes through as Remi with the dangerous assassin voice, yet his love for Leah shines through. I love this team and enjoy when they are narrating in duet!

I have really fallen for Ella Sheridan's Assassin's series, it just gets better and better!

Remi is an awesome hero, super protective and possessive, he has been watching Leah from a far for two years thinking he was not good enough to be part of her life.

Leah's daughter Brooke is her whole life and will do anything to protect her, she is hesitant to start a relationship with Remi for many reasons but he really proves to her how much he cares and wants to look after her and Brooke.

I listened to the Audiobook and love the narrators for this this series, Jason's Clarke's voice is so addictive and is a great pairing with Stella Hunter.

Before listening to this book I did not realize it was 3rd in a series (oops my bad!). I do not believe that took away from the experience; however, it did not take away from the story, in fact it just makes me want the rest. I loved this story, the characters, their family, just everything. They dynamic between the three brothers is fantastic! I want more, I need more!

Assassin’s Heart was fun and yet extremely serious at times. You never got confused when those times

The line about kids being like a t-rex is absolutely hilarious and I laughed a good bit on that one.

My brother believes he made me a killer. The truth is, I’ve always been different. I can smile while sliding a knife between your ribs—and not feel a moment of regret. Another great read in this series that follows the romance between Remi and Lea, the characters are lovable and sexy with a great chemistry, the story line is addictive, full of action, suspense, intrigue and twists, the sex is steaming hot. The only problem I had with this book is Lea's reaction to her daughter being taken, it was not the normal way a mother would react or think, but that's just my opinion and a small annoyance.

I didn't really like this one because of both the MCs.. Remy constantly coming at Levi and Leah constantly blaming Levi and Remy for her daughter being kidnapped when she knew exactly who had her and why they had her.. I didn't like how Leah judged Abby for staying with Levi when she was in love with a man just like Levi and had a baby by said man.. And I didn't like how she withheld info that could've helped them find her daughter.. So much inner dialogue from both Remy and Leah.. this was a 2.5 for me

Remi!!! Incredible!

It's been a while since I've read a series that has captured my heart and attention like the assassin series. It's good from beginning to end. It's action packed, sexy, a bit dark and suspenseful. Since every book has the 3 brothers, Remi has been my favorite, and I was happy to get his story. It's heart warming, hot, and gives hope!
