Romy thought that being kidnapped by a pack of douchebag werewolves was the worst thing that could happen to her. Turns out she's the worst thing that could've happened to them.
Romy isn't going to let a little something like getting kidnapped get her down. She's determined to turn the tables on her captors. Using her wits and somewhat questionable charm, Romy uses her time in captivity to learn her captors secrets.
But the secrets she discovers still hold her captive. Can she find a way to save more than herself? Or will the secrets she learned hold her prisoner long after she’s escaped?

First off I want to say that I want to be Talia when I grow up, that girl is my spirit animal. Ok, this book picks up right where TGWCW, left off without missing a beat. The storyline is just simply amazing. The way all the characters interact with each other is just amazing and realistic. You feel like you are right there with them. The chemistry between Kash and Romy is hot, and then we got our newest couple.... they are just amazing together and I can't wait to see what that goes. Then we have the storyline of the book, it will draw you in, spit you out and make you wonder what happened and how you finished the book already. This is one series that you need to read
Ack! Another cliffhanger! But this one won't destroy your heart. This was another nail biting, laugh inducing and stand up and cheer book by the Magnificent Mavens of Mischief. I'm totally naming this creative duo the above because they know how to write characters and scenes that will keep your face morphed into an incredulous and fangirly smiling face with raised eyebrows! My husband walked into the room and from his expression I looked bizarre. 🤷♀️ Whatcha gonna do!? Things get mightily interesting and super entertaining. Ramp up the Charlie's Angels escapades, the flirty flirtations and bring on those Midnight Kisses!! These good guys are just so delicious and easy to sigh over! This will draw you in and you won't want to stop reading. I loved the front row seat to this memorable thrill ride!! I can't wait for more!! Do yourself a huge favor and read this series, but make sure you've got nothing else on your schedule, you won't be able to put this down!!
Just got better! Well, not in happy ever after way. But in hilarious lols and wahay that she's scary cool way!
Lynch and Talia suddenly appear as a ready-made fun element to the growing family gang. I say suddenly because it's not their story, but you know, however, they finally met was hilarious. Their interaction is different but just as fun as Kash and Romy.
This is a darker book and describes physical abuse using fists to control someone. It also goes over gaslighting and other forms of abuse suffered. It made me feel better to her the FMC tell a survivor it is not their fault. They are not stupid, and they have nothing to be ashamed of. The abuser is the person who should be ashamed. Or something like that. It was addressed in a great way.
The plot continues with the search for the missing girls and trying to stop Brody and his pack. It ends in a cliffhanger. And there is spice, there is no time for smut and I respect that considering realistically little could be done in that condition...although I would and have done the little when I'm safe but in a bad after experience condition...was worth it 👌🏿 😉
Okay, this is not a drill, this is a real problem - how do I rate this book if the first one was already five stars and this one is just ...wow!? I can't rate it higher than five stars but if I could, I definitely would! As much as I already loved The Girl Who Cried Wolf, this sequel simply blew me away.
I loved the world-building, the story and the characters in the first book and this one, The Girl Who Cried Captive has all of this and so much more. I can't count the number of times that I burst out laughing, that I grunted something like, "Ha!" and "Yes!" or "Take that!", ranted and raged a bit and smiled indulgently. Somehow the story flows even better, the wit and the intensity are off the charts - oh, well, and the guys are not that bad either.
I started to read this book the moment it turned up on my kindle because...did you read the first one?!? Do you know where we left our heroine?!? Right. That's why. Many action-filled fast-paced moments and emotional outbursts later, this book kept me glued to my reader till the very last page. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book, I'm dying to find out what happens next!
The second installment following Kash and Romy, her two sidekicks/best friends Anna and Talia, and werewolf beta Lynch who follows drooling after Talia, starts off with a bang. Well, it picks up where the cliffhanger of a last book ended. If I had had to wait any amount of time to follow this story, I most likely would have been a mess. Romy is held captive and uncovers the reason behind all the disappearances of girls on campus, which she unfortunately cannot tell anyone because she is now one herself. With an unexpected ally helps her to escape, she and her friends work to undermine the tool who is kidnapping girls with the help of Kash and Lynch. Oh and Talia's mobster shows as she continually whips out weapons from seemingly nowhere. Don't get on her bad side; she has people to clean up her messes.
More sass, more action, more gooey relationship-ness between Romy and Kash, this book was a quick and wild ride. I loved the banter between Lynch (the surprising party planner with a secret stash of goodies) and Talia (the she could be a mobster friend who has an arsenal including grenades???). Their love story is going to be epic even if poor Talia can do everything but flirt. And Kash....mmmmhmmm he protects Romy when she needs it, but really lets her make decisions which is so adorable. He's all growly Alpha man, but is so sweet with her. He's definitely book boyfriend material.
And Romy....well she continues to grow and surprise me as a character. All of the characters are so strong and developed that it's almost like the story is for all of them, not just Romy and Kash. But as their relationship develops, we start to see Romy finally start relaxing into the home Kash wants to give her after being orphaned years prior. They both have hurts and struggles, but Romy is taking strides to really come into her own. And it was so great to see her kick some werewolf butt.
What a brilliant second volume to this trilogy! Romy finds herself kidnapped and tossed into a cell, pushed beyond her limits, and feeling like she'll never escape. How will she get back to her friends, her newfound family, the werewolf she loves? It a game of wills and a search for strength deep within herself is she's going to survive. And her best friends, Talia and Anna aren't about to give up on her either.
What a terrific collaboration these two authors have going. This story is not only an intricate weaving of two imaginative minds but it's filled with angst and tension and humor that gives us an exciting adventure, one that leaves us hanging on the edge of our seats in anticipation for the last in the series.
The characters were phenomenal. I still love Pepper, Talia and Anna. They are an amazing force to be recogned with. Along with their kick butt werewolves makes this story so enjoyable.
The storyline is unforgettable. I was completely and utterly sucked into the story from the beginning. And the way this story starts off where the first one ended made that much more addicting. And the cliffhanger, yeah I NEED book three now!! This dynamic duo is amazingly talented at bringing to life this story and keeping me on pins and needles throughout the entire story!! It's so full of action, suspense, humor and steamy parts that I can't find any boring parts within the story and I highly recommend it!!
The Girl Who Cried Captive is the second book in the Of Fates and Fables series by Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd.
This story continues on from where we were left in book one with Romy being knocked out, but she’s also been kidnapped. Plot twist by who and where. Unfortunately, as she was already missing once before it might take a lot longer for her friends to come looking for her this time.
I really enjoyed this story, and the deep relationship Romy has with her friends, as well as the building romance with Kash.
As per book one, this is a fun and easy book to read with a few cliche moments, plus a little on the darker side this time - the title should give that away. I can’t wait to read more in the Of Fates and Fables series with the next book.
Rescues, adventures and girl power all in one fantastic book 2
This was a thrilling sequel to book 1 that had something of everything. This book 2 was gripping with rescues, and amazing women with enough snark and swagger to put a pack of werewolves in their place. I would definitely have to say that I'm team Talia. My favorite quote by far:
“He’s like the Pied Piper leading them all away,” Talia says, “except instead of a magic flute, he’s using his magic ass.”
Thank goodness the final book 3 comes out on March 3rd as I can't wait to see what trouble Romy and her friends get into as the attempt to stop Broody and his "werebros."
Another slam dunk or home run, depending on your favorite sport. Every turn of the page our heroines leave us on the seat of our pants while they are pissing off their growling wolves by trying to save the world without the help of their strong werewolves. We are strong woman why do we need wolves...lol.. I imagine that is what they are saying.
Sometimes I am not sure which woman I love more, Talia or Romy. But I imagine their mates are going to have their hands full. But dang it, I want the bad guys to pay.
Will you woman quit making me wait for my retribution???? NOW!!!
5 stars for The Girl who Cried Captive by Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd. This is book is book two in the Of Fates and Fables series. Romy is so bada**but so is Talia which I was kinda of waiting for (LOL MOB ). This book picks up right where book one left us. Romy has been kidnapped by some werebro. I am telling you this story/book has everything: Love, romance, suspense, trouble, bada** heroines, great side characters, drama and even more. Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd are amazing authors separately but together; words cannot even describe how awesome they are. You just have to read this series to find out.
If you haven’t started this series yet, you are seriously missing out! These books are so freaking good! They are well written and have awesome world building. I love Romy and the gang! The things they say are glorious. And omg can I just say that I LOVE Lynch. For reals. #bookboyfriendrightthere His and Talia’s relationship was so much fun to read. I’m starting to think Talia is a legit ninja at this point...she’s hardcore. This story sucks you in from the first page and you are glued to it till the end! It’s definitely a must read!
Things just got real. Romy is abducted and now she knows too much. She is torture daily and nobody seems to bee looking for her. time is running out.To make matters worse the person responsible for her kidnapping and torture is non other than one of her supposedly “friend” 😭. Aint that a b!? But not everyone is bad and Romy finds herself finding a new friend. Must read! Follow Romy and her bad-ass friends to the rescue, Laughter in the most unexpected times, and definitely more cupcakes 🧁. Also definitely more Kash-alphaWolf❤️#iLuvHim
First off I absolutely love that this book is YA, I am able to share read this series with my daughter who absolutely loves Romy. Second I love the humor that is put into the book. The authors really come up with some quick wit and the characters really have personalities that make you want to be friends with them. I cant stress enough how thoroughly written this book is and how bo one who reads it, young, Salt-n-Peppa generation or old will be disappointed.
Lynch & Talia are what have me coming back to this series. They’re adorable. I also love Justice.
All together this book continues in the vein of not taking itself overly seriously, while also taking some darker paths in the process. What Romy goes through is genuinely disturbing, and if you have triggers involving abuse, you should probably skip this.
I’m looking forward to Brody getting what’s coming to him. Also looking forward, mostly in fact, to more Lynch and Talia.
Book two of the Of Fates And Fables brings out the big guns (Talia, mainly). It's action-packed. There’s a little romance, and Romy puts her brain to good use!
This one will suck you in and hold on tight as you fear for Romy’s life, cheer her on, and get all the laughs from Talia, Girlfriend, and Lynch. Seriously if the authors wrote a spin-off featuring Talia, I’d totally read it!
Action packed and a lot of great detective work. Can I just say Talia and Lynch together are going to be so awesome! They are perfect for one another. I just don't get how Talia doesn't see it. Talia has so many connections it's scary! She has to be mafia or in the mob. The amount of weapons she owns, knows about, & her fighting skills are insane. No wonder she scares people. This is a great sequel. The first book was a bit slow in the beginning, not this book. It makes up for it and then some! My only prayer is that Anna, Talia & Romy can stay friends. Ok, on to the next book to read about the war.
That ending!!! 🐺 The Girl Who Cried Captive starts where book one finishes and it hits the ground running!! It is filled with action from beginning to end with emotional and crazy moments throughout. I love Romy and her friends, their banter and strength they bring out in each other is wonderful and I love the weird and fun sides. I NEED the next book as I have to see what happens next and get answers! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Where do I start? Right with saying to both authors that I need book 3 stat!
This book is just simply AMAZEBALLS. I thought the first book took me on a rollercoaster but this part took me by whirlwind of emotions.
But the best part is that there were moment where I could laugh and it was such a good laugh! You have moments where you are sad, angry and seriously you just want to kick some butts!
Amazing! Cannot wait for next book! Well done ladies! Proud of you!
Y’all!!! This series just keeps getting better and better!!! Talia makes it even funnier! The girls night with their Midnight Kisses and funny things while a certain girl is sleeping and others were awake! Bam and Heather are an amazing duo and I will read any of their books they release! This book catches you from the beginning to the end and it doesn’t let you go! I absolutely loved it and can’t wait for the next one!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
OMFG!!!! This book. This series. God this, everything about it is life!!!! Talia is my soul sister. I never developed a huge girl boner until I met her. And I absolutely flove her!
This story packs it all! Love. Shock. Despair. Everything you need for a good story, this book has it all!!! And I can't wait to read more!
Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepard are effing Goddesses of writing duos!!! They are #author goals!
And....they did it again! A pull your hair, out March 3 is too far away cliffhanger!! I love these characters and I have to say Talia is my favorite. My momma said find the biggest bad butt on the playground and make her your bestie and she's it. Between Romy and her friends kicking some mutt butt and my side splitting laughter I couldn't put this book down. These books have it all. Highly recommend!!
A great follow-up to the first. I love the tongue in cheek humour of this series (a signature of the Bamther author pairing). I found myself laughing out loud several times throughout. Once again kept me on the edge of my seat so it should be no surprise that there is indeed a cliffhanger - thank goodness its a complete series! Don't mind me whilst I go download the next book.
Cash & Romy part 2: ANOTHER FRACKING CLIFFHANGER!!!! 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ TRIGGERS: assault, mention of rape and forced impregnation, kidnapping.
No really "romance" in this book but I have to say there was a lot more action both in human and wolf form. We even get a few female surprises. I found that this book was funnier than the last book despite the really dark subject matter.
It's getting really good and then... The freaking End! FML
Fantastic continuation from The Girl Who Cried Werewolf! I loved it and can't wait for the third edition! Some questions were answered (woo-hoo!) but another cliffhanger here!!! Talia and Lynch are here to save the day. This is an amazing continuation, but you definitely have to read TGWCW first!
Book 2, picks up a little while after book 1 ended and answers the question we were all snarling about. LOL. Unfortunately sexy time isn't a priority, but we have a serious story going on here that continues to twist and turn, as well as surprise you. I couldn't put it down and I'm so looking forward to book 3, The Girl Who Cried War.
Holy Roller coaster of emotions. This book having crying from the beginning. I can’t believe everything that happened in this book I’m totally shocked. I hope they take that Alpha out Because that whole pack deserves a swift kick to their throat’s. Plus I need answers like now please. I can’t wait for next book in the series.
This second book in the series is just everything I hoped for!!!! I read this whole story in one sitting because I simply couldn’t put it down and I laughed so much; my jaw hit the floor plenty of times too with all the plot twists and drama!! What a fantastic book....bring on number 3 🥳 this gets 5 stars from me 😁
this was a really good second book in the series. It was fast-paced, hilarious, and just plain awesome. We get more insight in the side characters which was probably my favorite part of the book. I was on my break reading this and I finished work so fast that the Doctors I work with were astonished just so I can go home to read this.
