A talk show host under attack. Odelia and her feline sleuths to the rescue.
When Odelia was hired by Opal Harvey, the country’s most famous talk show host, I was happy for her, and eager to help. Until she told me the job involved flying out to LA. Everybody knows cats don’t travel. Not by car, not by boat, not by train and most definitely not by plane!
So why did I decide to throw caution to the wind and catch that flight? Simple. I had no choice in the matter! And so my latest adventure began. Luckily my friends all got to tag along, and so did all of Odelia’s family members—even Grandma Muffin, who decided to bring her boy toy. Or is it toy boy?
It turned out to be a blast. We had pedicures. We had manicures. We got to meet celebrities, we got to visit movie sets. We were also shot at, chased, screamed at, and had the dubious pleasure of meeting Opal’s cloned cat—who revealed we might all be cloned, too! So did we catch whoever tried to permanently retire Opal Harvey? Read on to find out!
PS: no cats were harmed (or cloned) in the making of this story.

Winner again!
Love Nic Saints feline characters! This time, instead of the group coming to a conclusion on the problem at hand, Dooley came up with an observation that started everything in motion.
Odelia's whole family was flown by private jet to LA and given the royal treatment while Odelia looked into a possible murder attempt. As so often happens anymore, Gran inserted herself into the investigation. She lost track of her traveling companion. She kept breaking into the investigation with obnoxious attitude. That's par for the course though.
I loved the characters that were new to this series but probably not to be met with again. Prunella was an interesting feline character that I enjoyed learning about too. The other human characters put me in mind of some real life celebrities but with a twist.
The Mysteries of Max is a great series I would recommend to anyone who enjoys quick cozy mystery reads. There is something vaguely paranormal here but a fun, quirky storyline. The best way to enjoy the series is starting from the beginning as characters are developed along the way and you learn about more characters and how they fit into and grow with the story. There aren't any cliffhangers so they CAN be read in any order but full enjoyment starts from the beginning.

Dooley shines in the limelight
A much better read than the last book. The characters shine in this one and I must admit that their new friend has added an extra sparkle to our intrepid cat detective team. A plot of jealousy, revenge and greed has our heroine and the rest of the gang heading for LA on a private jet. Who is trying to kill the well known host of the tv show.
However things aren't as easy to investigate as back home. The host doesn't want anyone to know her life has been threatened. Her cat is a clone and makes our foursome wonder if they are too. Especially as she seems to have problems with her memory. The staff are hiding secrets, a set of lights fall down unexpectedly, there's a bad reaction to Botox and a BFF is kidnapped. Can they find out who is behind the attempts? Who will solve the case?

It’s first class all the way until the cats meet Prunella, a ditzy clone of the original cat Opal owned. This leads them to wonder if they’re clones. So now there’s two mysteries. Who’s trying to kill Opal and how can the guys find out if they’re clones? The answers will surprise you.

I just can’t get enough oh Odelia and her quartet of cats! This time someone is trying to kill the star of a talk show. So, much to the dismay and fear of the cats, they are flying to Hollywood. Oh course, Grandma Muffin invites herself (and her boy toy) along and the whole gang winds up going! Alex and Chase are going to attend a Seminar in Community Policing and Marge and Ted are excited about sightseeing. But the question is, who is trying to kill Opal?

Opal has been targeted for killing so she calls Odelia to fly out to Hollywood to find out who is doing it. Odelia takes her entire family plus cats. Prunella is Opal's cat that she had cloned. Odelia's cats worry that they have been cloned. They solve the mystery. Gran has hired a gigolo/boy toy and loses him to Hollywood when he gets a part in a movie. As usual the focus of the book is a character with a close resemblance to someone real and famous..in this case...Oprah.

Great read!
Another great work in this series! The cat detectives, Chase and the Pooles all head to Hollywood all for different reasons! The cats struggle with one of the latest medical technologies which blows their kitty minds! As always they team up with the odelia, gran, chase and Uncle Alec to get their man!

Very interesting and entertaining!
Loved how Nic Saint turned Oprah Winfrey
into Opal Harvey. You could tell she was
patterned after Oprah. Made for interesting
reading. Even adding in the tv network - OWN.
This was a great story line. Wonder if Oprah
has a cat!!?? As always enjoyed the kitties

Max and company wonderful as always
Another great escapade for Max and family. All the cats are adorable and Vests is Vests. She keeps everyone on their toes during any investigation.All the books in this series are great. Keep 'em coming.

OMG What Next?
The plots Nic Saint whips up for his characters are so over-the-top it would be ridiculous if they weren't so hilarious. I loved every minute of this book and I'm more in love than ever with Max, Dooley, Harriet and Brutus. Great story, great series.

I thought this was a pretty cute installment in the Max series. They travelled to Las Angeles and helped a talk show host find the person trying to kill her. As always, the cats played a major role in solving the crime. Looking forward to the next one.
