HayleAnna is just a small town Oklahoma girl and is the only daughter of Seraphina and Taven Mayall. She has been training her whole life to join E.R.A since it is the closest thing to a military that America has left. After a complete government fall in the year 2040, there are no laws, no rules and they only people trying to stop all of the rogue groups from taking over and making America a dictatorship, is the E.R.A. HayleAnna tries to juggle getting recruited, dealing with losing the only person she has left in her life, and not getting kicked from the program for falling head over heels in love with her hand to hand combat instructor, Jasper Moore. She knows that the consequences are great but she thinks that the rewards just might be worth the risk.

About the author

Rebecca has always loved everything fiction and while growing up in a place that wasn't the best of places, she buried herself in anything that she could read and keep her mind from all of the negative.

As a stay at home mom of four boys and the wife of a truck driver, she started writing to cope with the loss of her daughter.

The stories that she wrote to help her keep her mind occupied were never meant to go anywhere but her scrapbook.

After her husband read one of her stories, he pushed her to see the potential that she had and he encouraged her to try writing for someone other than herself.

She now has eight books in two different series and has no plans on stopping anytime soon with two more books in the works and several more stories climbing into her head every day.

A fast paced, action romance with a little bit of tragedy thrown in.
The storyline is fantastic and ever changing, with characters that you can't help but fall in love with (and a couple that you hate right along with Anna). You really feel all the emotional highs and lows Anna faces throughout the book.
An alternate universe set in the future where civilization as we know it has been destroyed.
There are a few typos throughout but the storyline is strong and it was easy to overlook these little errors and still enjoy the book thoroughly.

With every chapter I traveled deeper into Hayleannas dystopian world. Action packed, romantic, steamy, and full of hilarious wit I couldn't put it down. As I progressed I shut out the world to engulf myself in this amazing After America. I can't wait to read the sequel to this unforgettable story!

outstanding first book in this series! love the character building & the spin that the future isn't necessarily "futuristic". This book was so good. I love all the characters . AZ AND HayleAnna are true friends . Loved how Anna connected with Jasper. They make the perfect couple. Anna is one very strong woman. She has overcame a lot in this book. It was so sad when her mother was killed on her birthday . She had her mind set on justice for her and she knew she would get it. Can't wait for the next one to see what happens next . I could not put this down .

Surprisingly great read! I’m OCD about spelling and even the few mistakes I found couldn’t stop me from reading this nonstop. Besides I know how expensive editors are lol. I started reading at midnight, I finished at 4:14am. I’m going to be completely crap for brains useless today but it was worth it! I’m NOT a futuristic fan at all and absolutely fell in love with this story.

This book had me on the edge and I could not put it down! It reminded me of Red Dawn and Divergent but funnier and hotter😍 it was full of suspense and some crazy plot twists! Anna is a total bad a**, she’s strong,compassionate and doesn’t take s***! you can’t help but LOVE and admire her! Jasper is literally every girls wet dream🔥🔥🔥 I don’t know what else to say except, I loved this book and cannot wait to find out what happened next! Fan for life now!

Yes...just so much yes! I have never really read to much futuristic stuff other than like Doctor Who but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this book! I found myself emersed in the story and plotlines easily. I couldn't put it down. I can NOT wait to find out what happens next. I freaking love Jasper! HayleAnna is such a strong character and I found myself deeply invested in her story. I would definitely recommend this!

I read this with an open mind, I read it for what it is an introduction to the world. I enjoyed the fast paced read. The character developement and plot lines are well constructed. I look forward to reading more from this world. I can imagine there will be many great stories to come from these two authors!

Futuristic novel

I really liked this book. Not something I normally would read. But it flowed nicely was easy to follow. Still could use some proof reading, but it didn’t interfere with the flow of the book. If you like future romance type novels you will love this book..Good read.

Love Anna! She is just this normal southern girl in a crap world and has spent her whole life preparing to help fix it. No big deal, right? With her insanely sexy man and her badass BFF she's got it in the bag. Until her world gets turned upside down in a way that had me bawling like a baby. I could not put this book down, it was amazing! I loved the fast paced story line and there was never a dull moment. So much detail, was an absolutely vivid read. I loved the end with the slight change up with Jasper❤. I can not get enough of the characters and their live changing moments.

It’s based in the future and has a military vibe to it. The heroine is a badass and her hero is a gorgeous specimen of man meat! It’s an absolute read for everyone over 18

i was given this book for an honest review. I love the story line. I haven’t read an actual fiction/futuristic/romance book in a long time. It felt good to sit and read something with spunk. Though there are a few things that need fixing, it is a really good, easy, saucy read.
It had a Hunger Games/ Divergent futuristic feel with very erotic love scenes. This isn’t for your kids mommas! It’s your night time read 😉 Yes there is quit a bit of language in this book, so if you do not approve of the language (cursing) this isn’t the book for you.
Being a native Oklahoman I enjoyed reading about places that I know. Being able to envision what it could possibly be like in 50 years was neat. Yes the chapters were a bit short and it could have used a bit more meat to bite into, but I truly loved this book.
R and B you guys did a wonderful job and I am so very proud of the work you two put into this book. I can’t wait to read what your brains put together in book 2!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down til I was done. The story was very captivating. I honestly cried tears, laughed out loud, and felt true anger with the characters. Few editing flaws, but I still loved it. It had love, passion, anger, heartbreak and you literally could feel everyone of them. I would honestly read it again and I can't wait for book 2.

I agree that there are a lot of mistakes in this book, but I did mention that I am not a professional. 😂 However, the story line is great, the characters are well rounded and while it may be a "fast read" it is an introduction to the world it is based in. Stick around for book 2! It only gets better!

DNF @ 61% - REVIEW DOES CONTAIN SOME SPOILERS (AND A BIT OF A RANT)

This sounded rather good so I downloaded it but the more I read, the more I disliked it. That sounds bad but when I generally enjoy almost 95% of books I read, I think it's fair. It might be because it was self published and needed a really, really good proof read and edit as the amount of misspellings and simple errors drove me mad. 

So this starts with HayleAnna waking up for her first day of training to join E.R.A - America's army of the future - so she can follow in her dads footsteps. She meets the trainers, a group of five, and makes friends with her roomie, AZ, before embarking on her schedule of training throughout the days and weeks so she can help stop the crazy madman who is trying to rule America after the government collapsed a handful of decades ago.

I had a couple of other issues with this book, just simple things I didn't understand.
One: Her name is HayleAnna but everyone calls her Anna. Surely Hayle with it coming first would be her shortened form?
Two: The romance. I didn't buy it. One minute they're sharing looks and winks and then the next they're pretty much dating and getting married?
Three: The continual use of the word "setting" instead of "sitting". "Setting up in the bed..." Maybe it's because I'm British but that made no sense to me. I set an object down but I sit down.
And four: I felt like I missed something in that 61%. She leaves the training completely to go see her mum amid a possible threat, but when her birthday rolls around everyone from the training is there wishing her well, including the instructors who told her she would be kicked from the program if she left? And then she actually gets a place with E.R.A?

WTF?

That was about the point where I gave up with the story. It wasn't making sense to me anymore. None of it was. I didn't buy the romance between the characters, either, and I wasn't a fan of the explained conversations without having it written in full.

It did have a promising storyline and I'm sure if the authors gave it a full proper once over that it has the potential to be a good book but currently I really wasn't feeling it at all.

This was given to me to review.
It started off with having a lot of potential from the storyline. Overall parts of it were sweet but just bored me.
So I'll break it down to Pros and Cons:
Pros:
The book is a fast read at 133 pages.
Cons:
It had a lot of unnecessary cursing
Less choppy chapters- a few of the chapter could've been combined to make it a better layout
Parts of the book are very predictable
Needs a new editor-grammar and spelling usage, not sure if an actual person was used or if it was editing program but needed a 3rd look before release.
The character development is very one dimensional
Remind the reader in the first few pages where the character is from don’t wait till after chapter 3 to remind them. Yes, I read the book description but it doesn't hurt to remind them of where the character is from.
Certain colloquialisms are fine if it moves the book along but if it doesn’t it’s unnecessary

Our heroine wants to protect and the only way to do that is to join the local militia-type force. What she didn't count on was developing an attraction for her combat instructor. Talk about hands on training.

This book has a heavy mix of action and romance in something of a dystopian future. I found the story to be well written and generally easy to read with a fast pace that keep me engaged and turning pages. The characters were well developed with good solid backgrounds that fit into the setting and brought the story to life. I really enjoyed the chemistry between our characters and the way it developed as the story progressed. Overall, it was a fun read and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

This was a new author to me until recently. I'm so glad I gave her a shot because I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters are awesome. There's excitement, swoon worthy moments and the end leaves you ready for more.

The author did a wonderful job at writing this futuristic book. You get pulled into the story and that's my kind of book. I look forward to reading more from Rebecca!! You're going to want to give this book a read so grab your copy!!
