Dragon Shifters of Elysia #2

When Fire Dragons Fall

Rate this book
It’s raining men…sort of.

After waking up to a severe snowstorm, schoolteacher Emma Miller thinks the most exciting things she would do while snowed in at home are stream a few movies and sip hot chocolate. However, when a breaking news report of a sizeable island with unnatural structures suddenly appearing off the coast of England throws a wrench into her plans, she never dreams that shocking incident across the pond would repeat in Texas until a scorching hot—in more ways than one—dragon shifter crashes into her back yard, putting him at her mercy at a time when sheltering him could get her arrested.

Dragon shifter Sevek was warned over and over by the royal scholars not to fly too close to the ghostly city of another world that was currently bleeding into Elysia. Ignoring their warnings during one of his patrols, he consequently finds himself severely injured and trapped within the very alien world he has been obsessing over for centuries, forced to rely on Emma, a Terran woman whose sweet scent awakens desires he hasn’t felt in years. Princess Briana warned his people about the danger her home world’s governments would pose should they discover the existence of dragons, a danger he sees with his own eyes. It would be stupid to court a woman who could betray him to her leaders at any moment no matter how much Emma’s lovely blushes suggest she would be receptive to his advances. His priority should be getting home without exposing his dragon nature, not chasing after a potential mate he may not get to keep…

Two worlds collide in this thrilling and steamy paranormal romance adventure!

Contains mature content, language, and hot dragon shifters.

I live in West-Central Texas with my crazy cat and about a dozen bookcases full of fantasy worlds and steamy romances. I also have a degree in Computer Science which totally qualifies me to write romances. Fantasy is my first love, and if I can inject a little love into the fantastical, along with a few steamy scenes, then all the better.

Really enjoyed this! Fun ideas and an unique idea for a shifter story. Plus, I love the snowed in aspect! Emma is snowed in when the news starts reporting strange islands and buildings appearing where they weren’t before, and what appear to be dragons flying around. The government sends the military to investigate, but that just causes more of a problem. All around some shady stuff is going on. Emma has been keeping up with the news and is in wonder of what is going on. When she hears some type of crashing sound in her backyard, she’s surprised to find a unconscious naked man that is hot to the touch. Love how well Emma handles things and she’s a smart lady! She’s very good at seeing things clearly, and getting to the heart of the issue. Sevek, a dragon shifter, isn’t quite sure how he ended up with Emma, but he does know something seriously weird is going on. Emma and Sevek have a great connection, but they are facing some dangerous things. Dragon shifters wouldn’t exactly be treated kindly by the governments on Earth. Emma and Sevek are trying to figure out what in the heck is going on without getting in trouble; they begin to grow closer as they work together.

Entertaining story for me from beginning to the end! Looking forward to reading the next book in the series! Looks like it’s going to feature Emma’s sister, and I liked her character in this book, so I’m hoping for another intelligent, strong female character!

I’m really happy I can’t across this author’s work. I have enjoyed the first two books in this series. This one was better than the first.

With the veil between the human and dragon world disappearing, parts of Elysia have appeared on earth. Needless to say the government acts the way it’s always done and started shooting. Along with the land masses that suddenly appeared, the hero literally fell from the sky to the h’s back yard.

She now has an injured dragon to care for and big course he’s hot and she falls for him. So when things get hairy, the heroine does what she has to to save her man. And it pays off in the end.

Oh, I also adored the h’s sister. She added a lot of character to the story.

A cute fun read. However, if you are into action this is not the book for you. The majority of this book takes place with the lead characters chatting in a living room. It's not boring, but there is hardly and conflict or impending doom or danger. It's just a girl and a dragon getting to know each other. It makes them falling for each other more believable, but there's still a bit of instalove. Overall I enjoyed the story and would read more in this series.

This is the first book I've read in this series and I loved it! Emma is a school teacher in Texas trying to figure out why there is a snowstorm. While watching the news weather, breaking news informs the public about bodies of land that just appeared where there was nothing. Then when a mountain appears right outside of her small Texas town, everyone freaks out. Dragons have been sighted, military called in and people ordered to stay in their homes. Sevek is a dragon warrior for Elysia and was flying patrol around the mountain palace and next thing he knows he's lying in the snow unable to move or even think. What Emma finds is a naked man in a hold in the snow badly injured. Good thing she has an open mind about alternate realities. There is some drama and intrigue but mostly it's about the love growing between Emma and her dragon. This looks to be an interesting and exciting series. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.

Emma hear a loud bang and finds a bloody naked man lying in the snow outside.
School teacher Emma Miller turn on the TV to see if it was another snow day due to the storm and is shocked to see on the news that an island has appeared off the south coast of Britain then a mountain appears in Quebec then another appears in North Point near Dallas. The most shocking sight is that there seems to be Dragons flying over these places and that there is an invisible shield around them. As the storm continues outside Emma is glued to the TV until she hear what sounds like a branch crashing to the ground and goes to look out the window but all she can see is what looks like red petals in the snow. Putting on her coat she goes outside and what she finds is a large hole in the deep snow with the bloodied figure of a naked man in the middle.

This is the second book in this series and like the first it flows well keeps you engaged and has enough suspense and drama to keep you turning the pages

Emma a schoolteacher has a fairly quite life and snow bound as she is she is looking forward to a day of TV and hot chocolate. She is stunned when watching the new to hear that islands and buildings are suddenly appearing all over and even more startling dragons have been seen flying around. The she hears a crash and runs outside to check and finds a naked man laying in her yard. Sevek a dragon shifter has always wondered about the strange world that is appearing as a ghostly image in his own world what he didn't expect was that he would crash through into injuring himself in the process. Noe he has to rely on Emma to care and protect him and why is his dragon calling for her.

In this book you will get a good and balanced mix of adventure, angst and romance. When there was snowstorms and mountains forming out of no where, Emma didn't think she would meet the man that would be destined to be hers, but that is exactly what happened. From the moment that Emma and Sevek met, the odds were not in their favor when it came to being able to stay together. He comes from a mystical, and what was a secret land, and she is just a school teacher. The two of them must face the odds, as well as danger in order to be together, but luckily thy love each other enough to want to face it together, no matter how difficult the path in front of them may be. I really enjoyed reading this book and getting to know the characters and look forward to reading more books from the author in the future.

Emma is snowed in looking forward to hot chocolate and reading. She's listening to reports on TV about islands appearing, building appearing where there were none and best of all flying dragons. What! That's just crazy until she hears a commotion and finds an unconscious naked man in her backyard. Sevek is a dragon shifter that ends up in another world while flying patrols. This story has mystery, action, adventure, danger and steamy hot love. Emma and Sevek have a super connection but they are facing some really dangerous things. Emma is doing her best to hid Sevek so the government doesn't get him. As the government gets closer Emma and Sevek have to work together to survive. This is the second book in the new dragon shifters story. I do recommend that you read the first book Where Sleeping Dragons Lie so you will understand the story more.
My only complaint was that some crucial points were omitted from the beginning of this story and I found myself thinking if this was a different series?
Overall the story kept my interest throughout and there was enough sexual tension between Sev and Emma to heat of the pages.
Overall the concept was a bit different and at the end of this story we get to know who the next story is about.
Overall I recommend reading any of the stories by Cristina Rayne, you won't be dissappointed.

Emma is snowed in she’s looking forward to a quiet night she’s watching the tv and it’s reporting that islands and buildings are appearing where they weren’t before and there are dragons flying around dragons yeah right when suddenly there’s a crash in her back yard so she goes outside and finds a naked man unconscious. Sevek a dragon shifter was warned not to fly too close to the place that was bleeding into his planet so one night out on patrol he drops from the sky and he ends up in the care of Emma who he knows is his mate but with the government on his tail can he trust Emma. Fantastic story I loved it and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

displaced dragons

Damaged dragons , displaced worlds, danger from everyone and the love of a lifetime to protect and fight for. A well written story that will make you crave more. Part of a series but can be read as a stand alone although there are lots of questions you will want the answer to by the end of it. Some hot scenes and lots of danger but nothing too gory .Next time it snows where you are make sure to watch the sky in case it starts raining dragon men for you too

Emma is a schoolteacher. During a blizzard, her town becomes embroiled in turmoil. A mountain and an island have appeared from nowhere. Then there are sightings of dragons. Yes, dragons. What on earth is happening? To top it off, she finds a gloriously naked man in a snow drift in her backyard. Wow, what a story and I thoroughly enjoyed it

Great addition to the Paranormal Romance genre!

The writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story, I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world she created.

The attitudes toward the events that are happening make the story even richer and the characters more relatable.

dragons arrive

Interesting slant on the story. A dragon crash lands in a backyard, but the why and how are only mentioned briefly at the end of the story. There is a lot of the book dedicated to the military response and martial law, and running and hiding, and jail time. Emma gets her happy ending with Sevek at the end, but the book just didn’t grip me
