Infection. Invasion. Chaos. A weaponized virus ravages the U.S. and hundreds of millions die. For those left, surviving is only the beginning…

Isaac Race thought he'd found a new family and home. A new Life. He had, but it's all about to be snatched away. When an ambitious enemy launches a sneak attack on the USA, his peaceful life is shattered and Isaac, by his very nature a loner, must band together with a ragtag group of survivors to make their way to a sanctuary, three states away in the depths of a vicious east coast winter.

It won’t be easy, the invaders aren't the only dangers unleashed in a world suddenly turned upside down, and if they're going to survive, they'll need to be resourceful and ruthless and rely on others in a world where trust has been shattered.

I don't know if I can say this enough times, but I absolutely loved this series. From the start the characters took hold of me and they never let me down. A virus attack by the Chinese (hummmm) has left America decimated, killing off most if not all the adults.
The Story revolves around Issac and his friend Luke and their struggle to survive in a new world. A world where the virus is no longer the enemy.
The characters (all of them, good and bad) are so believable this reader found it hard not to feel for them and their predicaments. We laughed, we cried, we hoped and despaired, there are moments of great tragedy and sacrifice, yet what drives the story forward is love, trust and faith in each others.
An excellent post-apocalyptic story that hits all the high points in great story telling.

Good premise

I enjoyed the plot. My concern with this book was in the portrayal of women. Women were victims to be saved by a man and always in “traditional”roles.

Not usually the genre I got for, though I do love a good dystopian novel. I feel like this book was geared toward male readers but I was hooked from the first chapter and read all 7 in roughly a month. Definitely watch out for this author to see where he goes. The the last book seemed very left field and switched to a completely new character and storyline, while it was good I did find the somewhat obsessed focus on the attempted assault of the female character a bit much and not needed, like at all. It was dragged out way too long. Regardless I’d gladly read 10 more books in this series if the author were to write them.

Interesting and provocative. This seems prescient...all this COVID talk has gotten me thinking about the big picture and global geopolitics. I am only on book 2, but I am generally pleased with the details of how this story is presented. A good read.

Proofreader, Where Are You?

I liked this story because almost all of the primary characters are in their teens when it starts, and are left to fend for themselves as adults are killed by a man-made virus. What drove me nuts were the plethora of typos and grammar errors.

america falls

as a concept, what a fantastic idea, i did however feel cheated by the rushed ending, the series kinda spent 5 and 3/4 books setting up the story, and the last 1/4 cramming in an ending…

Trigger warning, they eat dogs in this book series which was a total no for me. Other than that, enjoyed the series

I am going to attempt to write this without giving anything away. I love this series and while I don't read much anymore due to an eye condition I am listening to it via Audible. I was/am fully invested in the storyline and all of the characters UNTIL where it starts a new book in Texas instead of the North East. That is all I'm saying as I don't want to give anything away. But the drastic change was kind of wrenching and left me wanting to crawl back into the last book to the familiar scenery I had come to love and know.
Part of what makes this series so hard to put down is that after Covid this is pretty much something I could see really happening so it's fascinating to see how the people learn to cope and survive especially since it is almost all teenagers or younger.
I highly recommend reading this and since I don't usually do reviews that says something. ( I also am listening to the 11 book omnibus so I might be further into the series than the one's reading this part of it)

Great read

I chose to read the series because it contained the effects of planned biological viruses killing the majority of Americans over a certain age. Intriguing concept and one that in real life concerns many of what our present future holds. The Chinese as the creators of the virus and their attempt of complete take over of America along with many other of America's advestaries, is always a present concern. Very close comparison to our present situation of Covid killing millions around our globe and the current situation of social decline in America today,. So the series is a somber close to home of imaginary yet possible what ifs. The characters were believable and drew you in to root for their fight for survival. Readers who are true Patriots of personal freedom will enjoy reading Medbury's America Falls series.

Surprisingly good! I started this series with a bit of trepidation. It was billed as teens facing TEOTWAWKI and sounded like it might be YA work with lots of teen angst. But I was pleasantly surprised.

It may well be considered a YA work. Medbury's style isn't all that different than the way my mind worked as a teen. But the difference is that it doesn't wander. There is a well defined plot and continuing action scenes mixed with introspective tracts that blend well to tell a compelling story. It was a page turner that completely caught me up in the drama of young people trapped in a brutal apocalypse and how they overcame every obstacle. Thoroughly readable. Thoroughly believable. No zombies (well, close, but not stretching credulity). It's not Steinbeck but I thought it was quite good and highly recommend it.

The author, Scott Medbury, must not have ever lived in the United States. Through the first 4 books the teenagers are going through loads of territory but are only armed with a handgun (book 1 & 2 it was a single .38 revolver). A quick Google search would tell the author how many gun shops are in the area in which his story takes place. If for some reason those were raided already one would just need to check 2 houses to find more handguns, shotguns, and rifles. Much of the story takes place (so far) in New Hampshire for god’s sake, guaranteed that if they were to search just 10 houses they would come across the home of some libertarian doomsday prepper and have an arsenal of weapons, and all that “patriot” stuff that they sell on podcasts and YouTube.

This was a really great series, all of the good guy characters are well thought out. It is different from some of the Apocalyptic books I have read. It starts out with China setting loose a virus that killed anyone over 16-17 and not of Chinese descent. It then moves to them bringing the virus to America and the Chinese basically take over the Uzs But there are pockets oof teens that will fight to keep that from happening. This was a really GREAT series. A great plot, lots of action and a whole lot of thought put into the characters.

I would have given this a higher rating, but I have to wonder, was it written for people born in the 1960s?? The teenage girls are told to "take a walk" when there is a surgical operation that will be too difficult and greusome for a girl to witness - an operation which is performed by teenage boys. Seriously?

Then the teenage girls "prepare dinner."

I don't know how ancient the author is, but we are long past that. Not the message to be giving in a day and age when teenage girls are growing up to be surgeons.

A fantastic series!

It's not common for me to find a writer like Scott Medbury. He captured me in Chapter One, Volume One and never lost me. I laughed, cried, chewed my nails, whooped for joy, you get the picture. Intrigue, action that young people like Isaac, Indigo, Luke, Brooke and Ben should never have to face at16. Their growth and maturity throughout this series was remarkably written. This is definitely one of the best.

Suspenseful Read …

… with plenty of gore. This very lengthy book is a thriller about a post democracy America, where the Chinese have wiped out the adult population through a fatal virus and the many battles in the fight for dominance. Some may find it too gory and some may be troubled by the possibilities given our politics today. The good guys too often lose though some prevail There is more to the collection, but I’m going to take a break before I resume reading.

One of, if not the best series I’ve ever read. Author is brilliant.
Great characters, engaging story etc. sometimes while listening to books I have to constantly go back when realizing I wasn’t paying attention. NOT WITH THESE BOOKS!! Other great books and series include, going home series by A. American and invasion Alaska series by Vaughn Hapner. If you love any of these you will love the others!! I can’t highly recommend the above books enough!!

This is great

Oh wow. This series is very exciting. The vast majority of the characters are kids. After a virus wipes out most adults. Children are left to figure out how to survive. They have to fight off invaders, build a sustainable way of living, and figure out how to be adults, all on their own. This is a very exciting series. You won't want to miss it.

AMAZING

You will truly enjoy this series. From page 1 to the very last this series has it all covered. Love hope tears cheers. The characters all come to life before your eyes. Absolutely loved this series. Only thing that was wrong with it is that it ended. Definitely read this series.

Good story

There were some dry parts, especially, after leaving the young Orton and friends. Also, why didn't get in contact with the people in the forest to help them before the final battle. You don't say if a y joined them or any group. Also, for the counsel of the brotherhood had to know what was going on with Diana' tribe.

Really good read... but becomes R rated, foul language

This was an enjoyable series for the most part, well crafted with great characters. Luke is an interesting one. The reason I deducted two stars is because towards the end the author decided an abundance of expletives was in order. It ruined a perfectly good story.

I've read books 1-6 and just downloaded 7-10. I'm really enjoying the series and the characters. I like that it's not just another EMP scenario. I enjoy the premise behind the story and how everything plays out with in fighting after the collapse and how territories are developed and grow. The story is very realistic in my eyes.

Intriguing

This whole series so far is intriguing. It’s most intriguing & interesting because it is a possible scenario of what could happen. It’s a fantastical story that blends possibilities with imagination & one hopes it is never seen in real life. It’s good to see how the good guys in this series comes out on top. Look forward to reading the next set of the series.

Incredible series!

Tbh I wasn’t sure about this series simply because, as a 40 year old woman, reading from the perspective of a teenage boy felt annoying! But I’m so glad I stuck with it! Reading as the characters expanded and grew it just got better and better! Highly Recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre!

My husband and I listened to this series on audiobook. I’m not usually into apocalyptic books but he is. I got hooked on it and had to finish. I definitely will probably pick up more of these kind of books in the future! It’s a great series and fast pace. It keeps you wanting to know what will happen next.

Good

Good book, but maybe just not for me. This is one of those books that makes me so thankful for kindle unlimited in the sense that I did t have to buy this book. This was one of the very few books that although good, clearly wasn’t meant for me.

Loved this series. I didn't know who would survive this crisis. Not going to spoil it for anyone so you need to read this for yourself. Great books Mr Medbury. Now I'm going to read "Messenger" . I like Luke.

This is a unputdownable read from start to finish and so appropriate with the virus going on at the moment. With great characters,it would make a great movie. Well done Scott
