I am so disappointed that Bri’s book is a novella. It feels like such a let down that a female author would write 4 novels about the men in this series and then short change the females story that is responsible for saving their reputations.
Not only am I disappointed Bri’s story was only a novella. I’m disappointed that it wasn’t that good. I like Hudson but I don’t feel like the relationship was fleshed out at all. It’s like she wrote these great stories for all the Prescott men and then got to the sister and was like, man I’m ready to be done with these Prescott siblings. There was plenty to work with his family. Additionally, they fell in love over the weekend in New York. Just terrible. I’m being generous with rounding up to 3 stars. It’s just because I like Bri so much.
Bri is the last of her family to find love, and it's with her twin brother's best friend, Hudson. Yeah, not exactly something said twin is thrilled about, but Bri and Hudson don't mess around with Braden, and let him know they can date whomever they choose. Now the only question is: is Hudson true in his intentions, or is his father's demand behind Hudson's interest in Bri?
No matter that this is a novella, it's still a complete story, and a great one at that. Carly doesn't skimp on story when penning Bri and Hudson and their falling in love. Their chemistry is smokin' hot, they're both wonderful characters with depth and substance, and act like the adults they are, which makes for a nice touch not always present in contemporary romance. I loved seeing the final Dare find love, that it's with Hudson, a man with a heart as big as hers, makes it all the sweeter as this series seemingly comes to its close.
Dare to Tease is novella #4.5 of the Dare Nation series by Carly Phillips. It is a stand alone story told from both points of view and has with a happy ending. Genre: contemporary romance Trope: brother’s best friend
Brianne Prescott doesn’t just have access to famous sports stars because of her job as a publicist, three of her four brothers are in that same category. She’s not only used to dealing with cocky alpha males, she’s also learned that most just want her for her connections. Except for her twin’s gorgeous best friend.
Dr. Hudson Northfield loves his job and his pro-bono work, but he needs money to transform the run-down clinic where he volunteers into a state-of-the-art health center. In order to do so he needs access to his trust by marrying and popping out an heir. Which is something he’d never consider, but can he convince Brianne of that?
Novella’s a great way to get to know a new author. Carly Phillips writes a fun and enjoyable story with two very likeable characters. This is a light and fast read with an easy flow.

It's okay. I haven't read previous books in series, there are small references to other couples and their books. No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. Small other woman drama, his mother mentions other woman that is interested and hints to heroine they have history. The Hero is not interested and says there is no history. Small separation. Neither are with others during this brief time. It is mentioned the Hero had committed issues but he feels noone he has dated in the past has stuck. The heroine has had bad experiences as mentioned in the blurb. HEA.

A fast paced novella with a cute story. Carly Phillips doesn’t skimp on the story even for a novella. It was sweet and sexy with little angst.
The chemistry between Bri and Hudson was combustible. The connection was unbreakable. I loved Hudson's protective side it was so damn sexy. These two just fit together.
Brianne is the last of the Prescott siblings to get her happily ever after presumably making this the last in Phillips’ Dare Nation series. If you’ve read earlier books in the series, you’ll recognise both Brianne and Hudson from those stories. It definitely stands alone but I feel that you’ll definitely benefit from having read the previous stories in the series - especially since this is a novella which always have less detail and character development than a full-length novel.
Brianne is the twin sister of Braden, the hero from the previous book, Dare To Stay. She’s a no-nonsense sports agent who’s been burned by love in the past and doesn’t put much faith in men or love. She came across as a kind, smart and successful woman who made a life for herself, assuming she’d never do so with a man. I liked the way she went after what she wanted but still seemed relatable and with her own insecurities and fears.
Our hero, Hudson, is Braden (Bri’s twin)’s best friend although there’s little to no angst about that fact. Hudson is a fairly laidback, caring and kind guy who feels a spark with Bri, wants to explore it and is delightfully honest when he realises it’s more than he’d hoped for. I liked and understood him although I did groan when he used his male “logic” to decide to keep a secret from Bri. At least he was doing it for the right reasons but sheesh!
The pair have have been eyeing each other for a while and when they come together there’s a nice flare of heat. But it’s actually once the pair become a little more serious when the heat ratchets up. They’re also a lot more intimate because it’s clear that our pair are catching deep feelings for each other. I adored the way that both Bri and Hudson could be themselves with the other - I love it when a pair fall in love as well as becoming best friends.
Once again Carly Phillips delivers a fast paced, fun and sexy tale about the incomparable Dare family - or at least an offshoot of it! The book is short and you’ll just race through it, delighting in the love of both our couple and a big, ride-or-die family most of us wish we were a part of. It gave me the happies and it’s a book I would recommend. 5 stars.

DARE TO TEASE is instalment 4.5 in Carly Phillips’ contemporary, adult DARE NATION erotic, romance series focusing on the Dare/Prescott family- a spin off from the author’s DARE TO LOVE series. This is physician Dr. Hudson Northfield, and sports agent Brianne Prescott’s story line. DARE TO TEASE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. You do not have to have read the previous series to understand or follow the current timeline but like the original series, there is a back story involving the Dare family, and by extension, the Prescott family as well.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Brianne and Hudson) DARE TO TEASE follows the building romance and relationship between physician Dr. Hudson Northfield, and sports agent Brianne Prescott. Hudson Northfield is one of the team physicians with the Miami Thunder, the team owned and operated by the large Dare/Prescott family. Having recently served alongside Braden Prescott in Doctors Without Borders, Hudson’s return to America comes with demands from his family, and the attraction to Braden’s twin sister Brianne Prescott. With the approach of his cousin’s wedding in New York, Hudson invites Brianne to spend the weekend, but more importantly as a buffer between Hudson and his immediate family. Needing something from his father, Hudson is stunned with the prevailing conditions, conditions he refuses to place upon the woman with whom he is falling in love. What ensues is the quick building romance and relationship between Hudson and Brianne, and the fall-out as Hudson’s secret is about to be revealed.
The relationship between Brianne and Hudson is a best friend’s sister relationship; a friends to lovers romance in which Hudson and Brianne both know what they want but Brianne’s well meaning family, and Hudson’s cold and distant father begin to build barriers between our leading couple. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense, without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Brianne’s siblings: Austin and Quinn, Jaxon and Macy, Braden and Willow, Damon and Evie; Hudson’s parents Martin and Lucille Northfield; Miami Thunder owner Ian Dare.
DARE TO TEASE is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; a story of secrets and lies, revelations and acceptance. The premise is captivating; the romance is seduction; the characters are strong-willed, dynamic and charismatic.

This is the fifth (4.5) book in the series - and whilst you can definitely enjoy this as a stand-alone, I would highly recommend that you read this very enjoyable series in order. This book concentrates on the one female sibling of the family, Brianne. She is somewhat fed up of her brothers cramping her style, and her attraction to Hudson, her twin's best friend and colleague is finally given a chance to flourish.
Hudson rescues Brianne from an overzealous beggar outside his outreach clinic. He patches her up and enjoys the chance to be close to her ... so much that they share a kiss. And with that the journey to becoming more begins. It is hugely enjoyable watching them navigate around her protective brothers, and rather sad how Hudson's father abuses his position of trustee to blackmail his son. As both leads are over thirty, they are well able to think on their actions and admit their mistakes. It makes for a nice change which adds richness to the story.
I was very pleased that not only did Brianne finally get her HEA, but we also got to catch up with the family and see that all previous romances are still going well.
Dr. Hudson Northfield is partners with Brianne’s twin brother Branden. It is nice to see men with money work for free in a clinic in downtown Miami. I was glad to see Brianne have to go to the clinic to take back her brother’s wife’s dress after she borrowed it. After Brianne hurt herself when a homeless guy scared her, Hudson carried her into the clinic to fix her up. The two had known each other for awhile, and ended up sharing a dynamite kiss! Brianne had stayed away from dating as most men wanted her for her contacts. I was glad to see the two fly together to New York to attend Hudson’s favorite cousins’s wedding so they could get to know each other better. The down part of the weekend was Hudson’s parents. They exemplify the snooty, controlling rich people you hear about. I had a hard time with the way Hudson’s parents treated him. Especially what his father tried to do to him when Hudson wanted some of his trust fund money to fix up the clinic. This ends up causing some misunderstandings. I love the whole Dare Nation books and strongly encourage you to read the book. I won a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Dare to Tease is book 4.5 a novella in the Dare Nation series by Carly Phillips and the last Prescott to find love. Short, sexy read!
Bri Prescott, publicist for Dare Nation Sports Agency and the only Prescott daughter. She is good at her job and has learned that everyone wants something from her...not just her as a person with a heart full of love...
Hudson Northfield, Physician, her brother’s best friend and partner. When he rescues her outside their clinic, sparks ignite, he invites her to a family wedding, she has his back when asking his father for his trust fund money for the clinic except he has a secret that could destroy their relationship...
Can he prove to her that she means more to him than the trust fund money or will her past with men always wanting something from her that isn’t her heart be what breaks them apart?
Dare to Tease (Dare Nation #4.5) by Carly Phillips 4 stars M/F Friends to lovers I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Bri knows that she is the baby of the family, but she also wants to live her own life. Despite her attraction to her brother's good friend, Hudson, she thinks that she'll just have to appreciate him from afar.
Hudson knows what he wants in life and it isn't having his parents meddle in his life. He wants to be his own man. But, with the sudden death of his older brother, his dad and mom are pressuring him to move home to run the family business. Hudson needs money from his trust, but knows that his dad isn't one to do good deed out of the goodness of his heart.
Bri and Hudson have great chemistry. They know each other and already have an attraction. While they don't have an instalove connection, their story felt slightly rushed, so it has the same feeling. I wanted more of a conclusion regarding Hudson's parents and his relationship to them too. It felt that this story was unfinished.
Bri and Hudson have to decide who they want to be their family. Hudson is already part of her family because of his connection with her brother, but can Bri trust Hudson with her heart too?
Dare to Tease is a novella listed as book 4.5 in the Dare Nation series by Carly Phillips. The story is stand-alone but there are mentions of the couples from the previous books so it can become a little weird to those who haven’t read the other books. I strongly disliked Dare To Stay so this one was definitely an improvement. I liked most of the story, but I wasn’t a big fan of the reason Bri and Hudson got separated. I felt sorry for the man and that he didn’t deserve the treatment he got. Overall though, it was a good book and a nice way to end the series.
I love Carly’s writing and all her books!! Now with that being said this final book in this series I loved it! Hudson is the best and Bri OMG! She gives boas vibes! Loved them
Stupid - I hate that word and rarely use it, but unfortunately it applies to the female protagonist in this book.
I gave the book 3 stars because I did enjoy the majority of the book, up until the protagonist goes stupid and decides she is going to believe the one sided comment/story that she overheard between her twin and Hudson. Her twin's words ring so true, she was acting like a spoiled princess not giving Hudson the opportunity to explain before she decides she was betrayed. I get that Hudson didn't divulge the conversation he had with his father but he did not proceed to use her to access his trust fund and that should have been all that mattered in the end.
It's been a while since I've wanted to throw my iPad against a wall in frustration but this heroine definitely had me frustrated. Fair warning to future readers...
I read this book out of order. I was going to go back to read the first four books but if the other female protagonists are the same I am going to pass.
Bri and Hudson know each other and her family considers him part of the family. Bri has been burned in the past with men using her to get to one of her famous brothers. Hudson, a doctor in his own right, doesn't need Bri to connect with her brothers. He is partners in a clinic with her brother, Braden, and they get along well. When Hudson decides to go for it with Bri, she is pleasantly surprised and they take a trip to NYC for one of his cousin's weddings. Hudson's family seemed like they were out of the middle ages, and his father tries to come up with a plan to get Hudson to give him something he and his wife want in order to access his trust fund. Bri, not knowing the whole story, eavesdrops and makes an assumption that is incorrect. For being a 32-year-old she really did have some immature moments. Macy, who I do not know as I have not read her book, was pretty invasive. Who calls their sister-in-law on a Sunday morning knowing they were attending a wedding the night before and that this was their first "date" for Hudson and Bri? It seemed off to me. Also, there were some flow issues. In one paragraph, Bri takes a fast shower and throws her hair up into a bun, the page she needs to hurry up and take a shower so she's ready when Hudson returns. There were a few more instances like this and it was kind of jarring. Overall a good read though.
This was a short, sweet novella, to close out the Dare Nation series.
Brianne Prescott works for the family sports agency, Dare Nation, and she loves her job. But, her famous athlete brothers, and her close proximity to other big time athletes, has made her search for love difficult. She can't ever trust that a man is only interested in her, and doesn't have any ulterior motives. She finally gave up on dating a while back, and she doesn't know how to change her predicament. But, then her twin brother's best friend comes into the picture, and she really wants him to be different.
Dr. Hudson Northfield and his best friend Braden Prescott have returned to Miami from a stint with Doctors Without Borders. They are working for the Miami pro football team as staff doctors, and they are also giving their time at a local clinic that needs a lot of help. He and Braden have grand plans to renovate the space and make state-of-the-art medicine available to more people who need it. But, to do that, they need money. Hudson has a trust fund from his grandfather, but it's controlled by his father, and he's not sure the old man will give him the money. Especially when what he really wants is for Hudson to be running the family business in NY. Hudson and Brianne have become friendly but he knows they both want more. He asks her to come with him to his cousin's wedding in NYC, for them to have some time alone together, and for her to be a buffer with his parents.
When Hudson and Brianne finally decide to go for it, they GO FOR IT! I loved their chemistry, and their banter as well. Brianne is so relieved to finally be with someone who only wants her for her, and Hudson has never really been interested in a relationship before, until he met Bri. They really had a strong connection.
Brianne's family was a delight as always, and I loved catching up with the prior books' couples. Hudson's family was terrible and I truly felt bad for him. I was so glad he now had the Prescott/Dares to be his family.
The dark moment here for me didn't work as well as I'd hoped. I hated that Brianne wasn't willing to listen and just walked. Even her twin was telling her she didn't have the whole story, and she wasn't willing to hear it. Ultimately it made some sense, due to her past bad experiences, but I didn't love it. Braden should also have been honest about everything he and his father discussed, but he was in a bit of a predicament too, so I understood why he didn't.
Ultimately, I did enjoy this story quite a bit, and I believed at the end that they were going to be happy together, which is all I ever want. If you loved the earlier books in this series, you'll definitely enjoy this fun conclusion.

Brianne Prescott grew up with four brothers, and works as the publicist for the family’s Dare Nation Sports Agency. She’s used to working with top named athletes, but has found that the men she dates only choose her to get closer to her famous family.
Bri’s twin brother, Braden returns home to Miami from Doctors without Borders with fellow doctor and best friend, Hudson Northfield. Hudson made the choice to settle in Florida to continue doing what he loves, instead of returning to his family company in New York City. Hudson has been included in all of the Prescott family events and has noticed Bri, but because she’s Braden’s sister, has kept his distance.
All that changes when Bri is frightened outside of the clinic that Hudson and Braden run one night. Hudson swoops in to save the day and a spark ignites. It’s hard to ignore. Before too long, Bri flies to New York to accompany Hudson to a family wedding and for Hudson can ask his father to release his trust fund, so that he and Braden can upgrade their Miami clinic.
Hudson’s family is nothing like Bri’s. His parents are cold and distant. Their lives center around their company and who’s now going to run it since Hudson’s brother passed away unexpectedly a year ago. On the last morning of their visit, Hudson goes to see his father alone, who makes a crazy demand in lieu of him releasing the funds. Hudson doesn’t mention the conversation to Bri on their way home, basically telling her his father denied him.
They fall for each other hard and fast, but of course the truth has a way of coming out. When Bri hears his father’s demand, she feels like Hudson’s just like all the other guys she’s dated and doesn’t give him a chance to explain. Will she ever listen to any of Hudson’s messages? Will she just completely shut down and think that no one could ever love her for her? Will Hudson ever get through to her or will his best friend/her twin brother be the one who makes Bri see she at least needs to hear Hudson out? Will their Happily Ever After ever see the light? This is a novella not to be missed.
Dare to Tease is the latest installment in the Dare Nation series by Carly Phillips. In Dare to Tease we finally get Brianne Prescott's story, and it was so worth the wait! I loved Bri and Hudson's story so very much!!! Like all the love for these two characters in this fast-paced novella length story.
Bri has grown up surrounded by 4 over protective brothers, and has been burned in the past by men who have used her to get to her famous brothers. Bri finds herself insanely attracted to her twin brother's best friend Dr. Hudson Northfield. I love that Hudson rescued Bri when she got into a sticky situation at the clinic, and their very first kiss was absolutely off the charts HOT!!! Hudson has never thought about acting on his attraction to Bri, as he is following the Bro-code of not messing with your best friend's sister. However, after their first kiss, all bets were off. I loved Bri and Hudson really opened up to one another, and their chemistry only made me love them even more as a couple. Yes, their relationship moved really fast, but it totally worked for me. Even when they weren't communicating as well as they should, I still loved everything about them.
Dare to Tease was the perfect wrap up to the Dare Nation series from Carly Phillips. Ms. Phillips once again delivered a sexy romantic story that gave me all the feels. I fall in love with each new couple in her books, and Bri and Hudson are absolutely one of my favorites to date. I highly recommend both Dare to Tease and the entire Dare Nation series of books to fans of contemporary romance.
Rating: 5 Stars (A) Review copy provided by publisher
Brianne is caught off guard. Hudson just acts on instinct – right place, right time. These are two people who already know each other. However, they’ve never taken things to a romantic level.
You would never know that this is a novella. Our author packs a lot into her story. Nothing feels as if it has been chopped or anything added just for the sake of putting what might be expected into a scene. It can be read as a standalone but it can also be considered an incentive. It’s a taste of the Prescott family. Her brothers make up the other four books of the Dare Nation Series.
Thinking this was going to be Brianne’s chance to shine, I felt this was more about Hudson. Hudson’s passion and what he wants to accomplish. There are things that he needs in order to get to the next level. Brianne has experience that will help but I was just expecting a little more of how her job fits into things. We get to see the heat that quickly develops which was a nice addition and didn’t seem out of place. Since it is a novella, you can expect to finish the story in just a matter of a couple of hours – which is good for those that may have a busy day scheduled but still want to get some reading in.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
I thought it was a good short story. Bri was with the Dare's football team Miami Thunder and was in public relations so she helped players get out of trouble. She was the last in her family to get married. She met Hudson who was a partner with her twin brother in an under privileged clinic in Miami he asked her to go to New York with him to a wedding where a friend of his was marring a friend of hers. He got them a suite at a hotel so they could visit his parents while there as he was going yo ask his father to let him have some of his trust fund to improve the Clinic. He had met Bri when she fell in the clinic parking lot and got gravel burn an both hands . He took care of her then and wanted to date her. His parents were not very kind to her or him. His father would not let him have any trust funds without him getting married and having a child as an heir. While there he told Bri he loved her and she said she loved him. They enjoyed their trip. Hudson told her brother about his father's stipulation before he would give him any trust funds. This upset Bri and she thought he was trying to use her. but they worked it out and her brother told her he wasn't. So they got back together. Happy Together with no problems.
Brianne is the PR for the Dare Nation sports agency and does her job well. She is used to dealing with conceited, bossy, temperamental jocks all day. So nothing really fazes her. Until Hudson comes along. In the past men have always wanted something from her, connections to her brothers or the famous athletes she represents. They never seem to want her for her.
Hudson has had the hots for his best friends twin for awhile now. After an opportunity to escape to New York for a weekend, their relationship changes and for the better. They have an instant connection and she handles Hudson's stuck up parents like a champ. Everything is great until a misunderstanding takes place. Is this enough to break them apart? Is Brianne really enough for Hudson or is he like the other guys in the past that have always wanted something out of her?
Hudson and Bri are fire!! They connect, they understand each other, and they fall fast and hard. But are their feelings enough for each other to overcome a misunderstanding? Loved, loved, loved this story and can't wait for the next one!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Brianne Prescott has spent her whole life being the only Prescott girl. Having to deal with four overprotective brothers hasn't always been fun....especially when it turns out that guys are after you only to get closer to said brothers. For once in her life Bri wants to be wanted just for herself....enter Dr. Hudson Northfield, best friend of her brother Braden. Hudson actually sees Bri for who she is and she likes it....a lot! After going away together for Hudson's cousin's wedding, their romance really heats up. Bri and Hudson both feel as though they have found their person, too bad Hudson has a secret his is keeping that could ruin everything. Luckily, the stars align and Bri and Hudson find their happy ending.
Dare to Tease by Carly Phillips is a sexy, brother's best friend trope novella in the Dare Nation series. I just adored Hudson. All he has ever wanted was a normal family....nothing like his rich, pompous parents and he found that with Bri. Together they make a perfect relationship where they both just completed the other.
Brianne, twin to Braden the team Doctor. Brianne is a publicist at Dare Nation. She goes to the clinic to take back a dress she borrowed from Willow. She is injured outside and Hudson helps her, and cleans her up. Braden walks in on them kissing. Hudson invites her to NY to his cousin's wedding. He wants to access his trust fund to sink money into the clinic, but his Dad says he needs to marry and give his Mom a grandchild to get his money. He and Brianne spend a lot of time together, say 3 words then go to a party. Hudson tells Braden what his Father said, Brianne walks in to the end of the conversation, and runs without hearing Hudson's side. They meet up after a game, Hudsone explains, Bri admits she should have listened. They have a fundraiser that Bri put together to raise money for the clinic. Hudson asks an important question, Brianne says one special word.
I received a copy via Booksprout in exchange for an honest review.
Wonderfully sexy, quick read with the Dare clan. Brianne has given up on finding a man. Everyone she dates wants something from her, usually a connection to one of her athletic brothers. Her brother’s best friend Hudson, is super sexy but never seems to give her the time of day until one day, he kisses her. When he needs a plus one for a wedding, she jumps in for a fun weekend with him in New York. Hudson is working hard to break away from his father’s demands but needs his trust fund to be able to invest in the clinic. Needing to attend his cousin’s wedding is the perfect chance to also meet with his father. Getting Bri to come along is an added bonus. Of course, having his father demand that he gets married and have a child is something he won’t agree to just to get his trust. How can he make his dream a reality for the clinic? Will he find a future with Bri? Or will his father’s demands shatter their chance? I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
I loved that we jumped right into the story. A quick background on characters was all we needed, no wasted space for long backstory. I love that Bri felt that way about the homeless man. We could put ourselves in her spot, feeling empathy but yet, still some fear and concern on what would happen. The indecision in that situation was so relatable. I like that we see how strong Bri is, but yet she’s still vulnerable. You also get to see that in Hudson. It’s nice to have “real” characters. The story was complete, which we don’t always get from novellas. I left feeling I got the whole story, without any holes. I have enjoyed the Dare series, but I think I still would have enjoyed this without it. We see their relationship grown and have steamy scenes. The chapters feel real and I really enjoyed the twist of the female taking something wrong instead of the blame all going to the male. Great, fun story.
This was an awesome story and I really loved it. All the characters were awesome and its also a story I have looked forward to. Its a fun, easy and romantic story and a novella in size. If you are looking for a romance with all the feels then this is the story for you.
In this Dare series we have met the heroine, Brianna in several books as her brothers found love. Now its finally her turn. Hudson is her brothers best friend and is a hottie doctor who with her brother run a clinic for the poor.
It was a really great story and not heavy on drama except relating to Hudson's family. It was great to see Brianna find her own man and it was awesome seeing her brothers and wives and watching them get involved and try and help out Hudson.
It easily can stand alone but its definitely better told if you read this entire series.
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
