Rate this book
She’s home on the ranch, and turning up the heat…

Trevor McCall never wanted to settle down. But now he’s forced to take over his late parents ranch, and to raise his cousin’s four-year-old daughter, Jade. Sure, he can run the place for a year to satisfy his parents’ will. But take care of a kid? No way…

To make matters worse, Lacey Cameron, his sweet housekeeper, is leaving to open her own Bed and Breakfast. Desperate for help, Trevor makes Lacey a deal: stay and help with Jade, and in return he’ll help her fix up the B&B. But as the two of them work together, Trevor realizes the girl he’s known all his life has grown into a beautiful woman…

For years, Lacey’s been saving to start her business, and nothing’s going to stop her from leaving the McCalls. Not that she doesn’t love the family… It’s just that she loves one particular McCall a bit too much. But Trevor plans to leave as soon as his obligation to his parents will is over. And Lacey is forced to make a choice.

Keep things with Trevor strictly business? Or give in to their attraction, knowing she’s just setting herself up for heartache…

Well this book wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't good. For me it was boring. I kept stopping because the story wasn't holding my interest. I did finish but it took awhile. I'll admit there's enough going on in this read to keep you mildly interested, but there's nothing special, unique or earth-shattering going on. I was glad I got it from KU and didn't spend any money on it.

This was a good read. Trevor and his brother's inherit the family ranch. While the two others are off getting there things in order Trevor is left to handle the ranch. On top of this their cousin decides to drop off her 4 year old daughter and then takes off. Thanks to the help of Lacey he is able to keep things under control. However, their feelings seem to complicate things. Thankfully in the end it all works out with them.

This is another wonderful novel by Leslie North! Her writing style, as always, draws the reader into the emotions of the characters, allowing them to share in the happiness and the turmoil as Trevor & Lacey struggle to find their place both in their new situation and in eachother's lives. The characters display personality, dedication, determination, emotion, heart, chemistry, passion and a strong sense of family.

Trevor had to return to his family ranch following the death of his father. With both of his parents now gone, he must stay there for at least 1 year in order to keep the ranch. Not that he intended to stay longer, that was just not his plan. Raising his 4 year old cousin, Jade, wasn't either, but plans change!

Lacey, the McCall's housekeeper for years, was finally leaving to start her own B&B. She had loved Trevor longer than she cared to admit, and knowing nothing could come of it, she just could not stay there with him. Yet, him offering to help her with the rehab on her B&B, and helping with Jade was bringing out more of those feelings.

As Trevor & Lacey acknowledge the feelings and chemistry between them, Trevor's plans for the future shift. What happens to the future plans that Trevor & Lacey had (leaving the ranch/opening B&B)? Does Trevor leave at the end of the year as planned, breaking 3 hearts in the process? Get your copy of this fabulous novel and read for yourself!

Instalove: No

H: 2/5⭐ Trevor McCall.

OW/OM Drama: No

Sexo seguro con otr@s: Mmmm

Engaños/Traición: No

Separación: Si

Detonantes:

Cierre: No hay epílogo, pero el último capítulo da como una especie de HEA

Wow this book was different from what I expected. I could not understand the feeling that one was facing until the end, which tells you that it was a great book. When the book is predictable from the beginning it is not worth reading. This story is about Trevor, Lacey and Jade. Trevor and his brothers are all going to their family home where the will is being read to them. In the will they are all asked to spend a year there before they can inherit the place well Trevor is not very happy about this as he has his own life back home. Well the other thing is that he realizes that while in high school he stop smiling as he did not feel like he was truly part of this family. The black sheep is always set aside, but surprisingly he was not in the will. Well as the other two brothers had to readjust their lives, Trevor decides that he can stay there while the other two take the time they need to readjust their live back in their home.

Lacey and her family have always served Trevors family and Lacey was asked to help while they are able to find someone to take her place. Of course Lacey always had a crush on Trevor and even though they had an encounter on the road the day before, she knew he would not recognize her and would not look at her in that way. During a few days when she started to help Trevor out with a woman who she thought would be great for the help the men would need during the year, so she could focus on her B&B, Trevor received a surprise visit from his cousin Penny. This is where Jade comes in, she is a four year old that was left in Trevors care and Trevor made a deal with Lacey to help him out with Jade and he would help her fix her B&B.

This was a great read. It is heartwarming and surprisingly funny as the banter between the brothers themselves is like they were teens instead of grown men. Jade is a sweetheart in this all and she tugs on your heart when reading her words.

I love Leslie North, and she has become a must read author for this reader. Trevor McCall and his brothers have returned to the family ranch for the reading of the will after their father's death. The brothers are shocked to learn all 3 must live and work on the ranch for one year to get their inheritance. Trevor offers to stay at the ranch knowing his foreman can run his business for him while his brother's complete their business before they move back. Trevor is also surprised when he sees his cousin after so many years away. Trevor is even more shocked when she leaves her daughter, Jade, behind. Lacey Cameron has been the long time housekeeper for the McCall's but is now leaving the ranch to open up her own B & B. Trevor makes Lacey a deal; stay and help with Jade, and he will help her fix up the B & B. As Lacey and Trevor work alongside of each other, Lacey finds herself falling more in love with Trevor, and Trevor finds himself becoming more attracted to Lacey and wondering how she has made cracks in his hardened heart. What happens when Trevor decides he wants to adopt Jade? Will Lacey accept Trevor's offer of marriage for the sake of Jade or walk away? Will Trevor convince Lacey he loves her and wants her to be part of a forever family with him and Jade? How will Trevor react when he learns the truth about himself, and what he always believed about his father's feelings toward him? I absolutely loved The Rancher's Inherited Family by Leslie North. The Rancher's Inherited Family is a sweet story full of chemistry, family, and love. I would definitely recommend getting The Rancher's Inherited Family by Leslie North.

This is a sweet quick read, the ending is predictable but who cares, it is the story getting there that counts.
Trevor McCall and his two brothers returned to the family ranch after their fathers death for the reading of the will. The will stated that to keep the farm they must all live there for a stated time, because his brothers were finishing their studies and Trevor had a good foreman that he could leave in charge of his construction business he volunteered to run the ranch on his own for a while.
Trevor is horrified when he finds his cousins four year old daughter has been left with him to raise and his cousin has disappeared.
Lacey Cameron is the beautiful housekeeper, she has lived on the ranch all her life but has been saving so that she can leave and set up a b&b, she has trouble with the loan on the b&b, Trevor has no idea about raising children so he makes a deal with Lacey, he will help with repairs on the b&b in return for Lacey looking after the house and Jade.
As the story continues Trevor was falling for Lacey but he was not the marrying kind, Lacey had been in love with Trevor since she was a little girl but she was afraid of getting her heart broken, both of them adored Jade.
The will they wont they scenario continues, if you are looking for a book with edge of your seat suspense then this probably isn't the book for you but if you want a quick sweet romantic story you will enjoy this book

Trevor and his brothers inherit a ranch from their parents but at least one of the must stay on the ranch for a year or they forfeit the property. Trevor has plans to continue to run his construction company and doesn’t want to take the time with the ranch. Besides, he learned when he was in his teens that he was adopted and feels he does not deserve the ranch. Lacey is the daughter and granddaughter of the housekeepers and has taken over since they have moved to Florida. She wants to start a bed and breakfast. She has even secured the property and is setting up for repairs and remodels needed to the property. But Trevor’s brothers can’t get away from their work right now, Lacey’s contractor takes her money and runs off, and Trevor’s cousin stops at the house long enough to drop off her four year old daughter before she leaves. Trevor has to decide how to run the ranch, care for the child he doesn’t really want and who won’t speak to him, and get through the months his brothers are going to be gone. He makes a deal with Lacey to help with the bed and breakfast if she will help with his niece, Jade.
How are Trevor and Lacey going to work out all their differences? Trevor doesn’t want children and has sworn off marriage. Lacey has to get out of the house with Trevor before her feelings for him break her. A quick read with lots of heart.

ONE EMOTIONAL WHIRLWIND!!!
Exceptional! Leslie boasts one spectacular spin that's so touching and heartwarming with passion, finesse and style that blows this baby wide open. A churning vortex of daunting events, blasts this baby into a tailspin with shocking results. Traversing the trials and tribulations, sharp twists, sleek turns and thin lines, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. Yielding incredible, well rounded scenario's, that punch dead center with such exuberance and grace, grounding in it's strength and awe inspiring in it's depth. The chemistry builds as each layer is peeled back exposing an undeniable bond and amplifying affections, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters and scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Remarkable job Leslie, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.

I enjoyed this book. The story was good, and the characters were likable. The story moved along quickly, and it was hot and steamy. It was a good start to a new series. This is the first book in the McCall Ranch Brothers series.

Travis is the eldest McCall brother and he’s home for the reading of his late parents will. He doesn’t want to be a rancher or raise a family. His goal is to get back to Helena where he owns his own construction company. After the reading of the will Travis volunteers to stay be the first one to stay on the ranch since the will stipulates that at least one of the brothers must stay on the ranch to run things while so that the others can get their affairs in order.

Lacey Cameron’s family has always been there to help the McCall family, but she wants to work for herself not the McCall family. She finds herself helping Travis out when his cousin shows up one day leaving behind her four-year-old daughter for Travis to raise.

Lacey helps Travis out with his niece and Travis helps her out with getting her bed and breakfast up and running. They’re attracted to each other, but Travis knows Lacey is the marrying kind and doesn’t believe he’s cut out for the married life. Can Travis work through his issues before he loses Lacey forever.

3 brothers who are told that they have to live on the farm of their deceased parents for 1 year in order to receive the inheritance. The eldest brother stays so that the other 2 can get their affairs in order before they go to the farm. A housekeeper belongs to the house. She is the daughter of the previous housekeeper and has been secretly in love with Trevor for years. She knows that love is not reciprocal and decides to pursue her dreams; starting a B&B.
Then cousin Penny leaves her daughter on the farm's sidewalk and flees from her responsibilities. Trevor and Lacey grow closer together in their care for Jade.

Personally I found this a less good story from Leslie North. I have already read a lot of her romances but with this story I did not feel the click that she would otherwise be able to display in her writing style. I personally found Trevor aloof and easy going. Nice to see how he grows in his care for Jade and how he learns to love her. Towards Tracey I do not feel the emotions and the love that she describes. Also from the side of Tracey I read how she feels but it does not come through. The chemistry is not there in my view.
I give this book 3,5stars

Although......still curious about the story of the brothers; Randy and Carson

The Ranchers Inherited Family introduces us to the McCall brothers. Trevor McCall and his brothers Randy and Carson are home for the reading of the will after their parents’ death. In the will it is stated that all three brothers must live on the ranch for a year or it will be auctioned off. None of them resides in Winding Creek anymore so they will have to make arrangements to meet the demands of the will. Trevor who has a construction company is the first to agree to the move. Lacey Cameron’s family has been working at the ranch for years and after the McCalls death Lacey is left some money. She buys a bed and breakfast in town and can’t wait to run it! She agrees to help Trevor find a replacement until then she is working at the ranch. Finding a replacement is not easy and to add to Trevors problems his cousin Penny has left her daughter Jade at the ranch and has taken off leaving Trevor guardian. Things really start to get interesting when Laceys contractor takes off with the money she paid him for repairs, Trevor and Jade are not bonding, a replacement for Lacey can’t be found. It’s great to watch the three of them work together! There are a lot of twists and turns in this book it will knock your socks off!

I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Booksprouts arc.

Trevor was on his way back to the ranch when he almost got into any accident the red Jeep swerved just in time. When he saw that it was a women in the Jeep and she knew who he was Mr.McCall. When he finally got to the ranch one brother had already shown up for the reading of his fathers will which could not be soon enough. Trevor never wanted to set foot back in that house. The brothers find out that all three must live at the ranch for a year otherwise it would be sold and they would lose their families legacy. The McCalls made a provision for Lacey’s to stay on the ranch for a year. Meanwhile Trevor’s cousin leaves her daughter at the ranch with Trever and pins a note to her. Lacey and Trevor struck up a deal he would help her with her BnB and she would stay in for awhile and help him with Jade. Meanwhile she sleeps with Trevor and realized it was a mistake. She had always had a crush on him but he did take her V card and he made it feel like it was a mistake. Lacey leaves the ranch to work on her BNB and realized she had to cut her losses. Trevor finds out the truth about himself when his brothers find some paper in the attic.

This is book one in the McCall Ranch series. Meet Trevor McCall, his parents have passed away and they have left him a stipulation......he needs to stay and manage the family ranch for one year before doing anything with it. Trevor is unhappy about this but willingly takes the task. He also finds himself to be the guardian to his cousin's four year old daughter, Jade and the housekeeper for the ranch, Lacey is leaving to open her own B&B. How in the world is he going to make this work? Lacey has loved her job and time at the McCall Ranch and as much as it pains her to leave, she finally has reached the financial point that she can make her own dream come true, open her B&B. She will leave a piece of her heart behind as Trevor McCall was the man she secretly loved but it never went anywhere. When Trevor is left struggling with everything that is left at his feet, will Lacey stay? After all, they say it is better to have loved and lost then never at all, right? This was a good story, has entertaining characters, a little shaky in its clarity and flow but a good start to another trilogy series. Enjoy!

This story is quite a good one. It has a good storyline, albeit a bit lacking, and the characters are really excellent. What I found missing a bit from the story was about the ranch, perhaps only trivial but non the less I felt information missing about the ranch. What kind was it? How could he just up and leave for two weeks? How could he spend so much time at the B&B and it not having an effect on the ranch? I know this is a story and as such there are really no definite rules to why and how and what in the story. But this one felt as it was supposed to be like in real life and as such I felt this info missing. Was there a foreman like at his construction company? Was it a cattle farm or vetable farm? ...? Otherwise the story is really good but as I could not stop thinking about this I felt that I could not give this story the fabulous five stars but have to stick to the wonderful four. As always this is only my opinion about this and always better if you read and judge for yourself.

Leslie North’s The Rancher’s Inherited Family. #1

The three McCall brothers, Trevor, Carson, and Randy have inherited their parents’ estate. There is a catch, the men have to live there for a year. Trevor, the oldest, elects to be the one to stay first, while his brothers make arrangements to move back to the family home. Trevor places his business into his foreman’s hands and moves into the home place.

Lacey Cameron receives a monetary inheritance from the McCall’s estate. She promptly sinks it, and even more money, into fixing up a bed and breakfast. Her contractor bails, leaving her in the lurch while taking most of her funds with him.

Meanwhile, Trevor’s irresponsible cousin, Penny, takes off and drops her 4-year-old daughter, Jade, at the ranch. Penny leaves a note pinned to the child’s coat that names Trevor the child’s guardian.

What is a single rancher going to do with a small child, when his housekeep/nanny quits? Maybe, just maybe, he can make a deal with Lacey.

Family is family! Trevor McCall, along with his brothers Carson and Randy, inherited their parent's ranch and assets after their deaths. The will required the borthers to live on the ranch for a year. All had lives elsewhere and had to scramble, adjust and reschedule their lives to comply. Trevor, the eldest, had an easier life to shuffle, so he moved in first. His cousin, Penny abandoned her daughter, Jade, 4 for Trevor to care for is just an unexpected complication. Lacey Cameron, was third generation cook/housekeeper on the McCall ranch. But, she had plans to open a B&B and did not plan to stay longer than to help set up. Trevor discovered a secret when he was 16 that changed his sense of self, his sense of family and his sense of place that formed who he was as a man, a worker and a family member. Do the brothers stay the year, so they can inherit? Does Lacey get her B&B? How does she get out of housekeeping for the McCall brothers? Does Trevor cousin-up and love on Jade? Nice story. I would have liked to hear more of the B&B and Carson and Randy. They sound like fun. Good story! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

An absolutely wonderful and heartwarming story. Trevor and his brothers return home for the reading of their parents will and find out in order to keep the legacy they have to live on the ranch for a year. Not what any of them wanted to do, but Trevor steps up and says he will stay until his brothers can take care of their responsibilities before they return.
Lacey, the housekeeper and the young girl who grew up with the boys, stays on until she can find someone to take her place. On top of everything else, Trevors cousin, Penny, drops off her 4 yr old daughter with a note pinned to her shirt. With all the pressures and dealing with the 4 yr old, (he has no idea how to be a parent) he convo ces Lacey to stay and he will help her get her B&B up and running after her contractor ran off with her money and never did the job. A well written storyline and wonderful characters that steal your heart. I loved how Trevor steps up to win over Jade the little girl and finally recognizes his true feelings for Lacey, A wonderful and emotional romance.

Start to another wonderful series by this very talented author Her characters are always so real that by the end of the book you always feel as of you have made new friends and this one was no exception

Trevor McCall isn't interested in been a rancher but his parents will stipulates that he has to be on the ranch for twelve months if he wants to inherit so stay he will Then to complicate things even further he becomes the guardian of his cousins four year old daughter Jade. He knows that he needs help but Lacey Cameron his housekeeper whose family have been with the McCalls for generations is about to leave and open her own B&B. When Lacey is ripped off by her contractor he sees his chance and offers to help her with the B&B if she will stay for a while and help him with Jade. The only problem is he hadn't realised the housekeeper had become such a beauty and he isn't sure if he cab stay away from her. When Trevor turned into the road to the family ranch he wanted to turn around an run back to where he came from. When he sees his brother Carson he knows Carson feels the same way but Carson chokes up .Then they go to the Ranch house an Randy the youngest is there the lawyer says lets go into your dads office. As Trevor looks at all the photos he swallow the anger he feels. Then they find out all three have to spend the next year on the Ranch or lose everything. So Trevor being the oldest says he;ll stay for them to get their things in order an get back.Lacey took every penny she had an bought a bed an breakfast then took out a,lone to fix it up.She was asked to stay an train someone to take her place.Lacey has been in love with Trevor since they were kids even if hes older There are so many twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and you can feel their emotions and their pain.I can hardly wait to see whats next by this multi talented author.

I received a copy from Hidden Gems; this is my honest review.
-The flow between Chapter #1 and Chapter #2 is weird. You have a notion of time travel somehow. At one point Randy is not there, and then he was there all along. Carson and Trevor are having light conversation but it’s so much more between Randy and Carson, way before Carson speaks with Trevor, etc.
-Good job on the editing.
-Good story in general, believable situations, even the will’s expectations, but not really a romance, more like an intense mystery and day-to-day life in a western county in between. I didn’t notice any lust or warmth even less love with both Lacey and Trevor and that’s too bad.
-I would have liked more interactions with the brothers when they weren’t at the ranch yet and later when they arrived. We only see them in the first chapters, and then they disappear until the very end.
-In all the books I’ve read from this author, open door scenes should be kept closed because there’s nothing exciting about them. Au contraire, it sounds painful, first time or not, and mechanical or obligatory.

Book One Gets the Series off to a Good Start.
Wonderful storyline set in modern day Montana. Trevor, the eldest of the three McCall brothers are home for the reading of the family will. And from those pages what surprises show up and make for some great reading.
The storyline was well-written and as a result pulls at your heartstrings and tear ducts a time or two. The story reads fast and I had a hard time putting it aside when sleep came around.
The characters were skillfully written. Trevor, the eldest had his own construction company. Still on the ranch as caretaker was Lacey. She practically knew the boys her whole life and use to crush on Trevor. Jude was my favorite. She was written with the right amount of pouting and foot stomping only a child her age could perfect.
Bottom line: A pretty much perfect story for the more G-rated readers just have some tissues resting nearby, just in case.
I’m definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and satisfaction. Peace.

Trevor's parents' will says he and his brothers have to live on the ranch for a year for their inheritance. His brothers have to wrap up their lives, but Trevor's moving in immediately. Lacey's family has worked for the McCall family for years. She wants to leave her job at the ranch to follow her dream of owning a B&B in town, but the family attorney talks her into staying for a while. It's tough, because she's always had a crush on Trevor. Life gets a lot harder, though, when Trevor's cousin drops off her daughter, expecting him to take care of her. They figure out how to be a functional family, even if it's just pretend for a few months. Until the feelings become real. This is a terrific book, with a huge surprise for Trevor at the end. Trevor and Lacey are drawn to each other, even as they tell themselves that they can't be together. The book is easy to read, very enjoyable, and a terrific start to this new series.

With his father dying Trevor has to return to the family ranch to live for one year to claim his inheritance. Lacey has been dreaming of running her own B & B so when she gets an inheritance from her former employer that's what she starts making plans for. When she is asked to continue working for the family during the transition she agrees but only until a temporary person. Sparks fly between them as they work within the house together. One evening a cousin of Trevor's stops by but before he can talk to her she leaves. When he goes to go into the main house he finds a little girl wrapped in a blanket with a note. His cousin left her daughter for him to take care of. Will Trevor be able to stay the year and take care of Jade? Will he claim Lacey as his own?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book.

This book was ok. Trevor and Lacey spent most of their time getting past their awkwardness with each other. Trevor initially being hung up with Not being good enough, due to some information he had been carrying around for years. Lacey being hung up on not feeling good enough for Trevor and having a crush on him for so many years. Four year-old Jade was the high point in the book for me.

I would have enjoyed the book more if Lacey and Trevor had been able to spend more time being a couple and made an official act of adopting Jade, or, if there had been an epilogue beyond the information in the last chapter. For example, whatever happened to the bed and breakfast? Did I miss that part?

A fast paced, kind of sweet small town romance. Trevor and Lacey had some chemistry, but it felt like it never fully developed or blossomed. I just needed more from this book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received from Hidden Gems.

The Rancher’s Inherited Family is the first book in Leslie North’s brand-new series – McCall Ranch Brothers. Trevor and Lacey’s story will pull on the heart strings and drive home the emotional impact of finding where you belong while navigating the wealth of issues that come from forced responsibility and the knowledge that you are someone’s only hope at stability.

Each have their own issues, and neither wants to succumb to the expectations of others; but when feelings are involved and an attraction that can’t be denied, all bets are off! Trevor is a likeable character once he moves past his aversion to ranching life, and Lacey is enchanting with her determination to follow her dreams, but her overwhelming need to help Trevor find his way. This is another easy to read and family orientated story that will definitely resonate with many readers.

I look forward to the next exciting story of the brothers McCall.
