When she was seventeen, Alex Mackenzie fell madly in love with a white knight, who turned out to be the devil in a Versace suit.

Through years of torture, she lies awake at night dreaming of an escape. Her heart is painted black and blue, battered and barely surviving her destructive marriage.

Until one fateful night, when she meets an unlikely ally on a rooftop in Manhattan. A dark prince, glazed with ink and dripping in sin, hiding behind an easy smile and classic Ray Bans. Noah Richards has a reputation. His bedroom is a revolving door of one-night-stands, heart remaining forever off-limits… Until this twisted fairy.

Bruised and flighty, Alex captivates him, and despite his aversion to feelings, he wants more. But his fairy needs a friend, so a friend he aims to be.

Brushing over wrong places and wrong times, their hearts never stop seeking solace in one another.

Happily ever after isn’t usually granted to friends with benefits…

But this fairy tale has only just begun.

Author of Flipping Hot Fiction. I write big books and I cannot lie, *insert smirky face*. Specializing in LGBTQ+ representation.

First of all, let me say bravo to Nyla for donating a portion of her presale royalties to a charity benefitting victims of domestic abuse.

Being a survivor myself, I did find this book extremely emotional at times but I think that just goes to show you what an amazing writer Nyla K. Is. She was able to evoke grief, anger, love, and lust, all while moving effortlessly from one emotion to another.

I am also extremely grateful for the humor written into the story as it helped balance out the very heavy subject of abuse. So if you love being sucked into a story and feeling the rollercoaster of emotions right along with the main characters, then you have to give this book a shot.

Throughout the book you got to experience the development of Alex’s character and how she was able to overcome the damage her previous relationship caused her. I must admit, there were times I really wanted to shake some sense into her, but just like in real life, these were lessons she had to learn on her own.

Now as for Noah, if I weren’t already married, I would totally hunt him down and propose. If he were real of course.

He truly is the perfect book boyfriend and Alex couldn’t of been written a better partner. He helped her navigate through her metamorphosis into a happy and whole woman without being overbearing.

All in all, Nyla K. Writes another amazing romance novel, leaving me excited to read whatever she publishes next.

“All the pain of my past led me to my true forever. And that’s pretty damn badass.”
————————————————————————-
This was my first read by Nyla and it was beautiful... and angsty as hell. There was so many good moments within this novel. Some had me laughing with Alex and Noah’s banter and others had my anxiety spiked because of what could happen. Nyla does an amazing job of showing and telling while writing, I was able to vision everything that was going on. Including the sex scenes because those were HOT!😍
————————————————————————-
Getting to know Alex Mackenzie was admirable. She was a character that dealt with domestic abuse and definitely had growth. Her growth was realistic too, not dramatic enough that it wasn’t believable. I really admired her character and who she became as Alex. As for Noah, I adored how different his character was from the typical bachelor we are typically given in the romance world. It was refreshing having his bachelor attitude, but super down to earth, funny, and lovable traits as well. He was the best of friends with Alex for a short time and it grew into something beautiful. It truly was a Friends-to-Lovers novel with depth, emotion, and love. Watching the back and forth between these two characters was amazing, as a reader I didn’t actually know what was going to happen, especially since I knew it was angsty👀❤️
————————————————————————-
While reading this novel, I did have some struggle. There were major jumps in time, multiple times. I have always been iffy with major time jumps even if there is a purpose for them. Even though I knew why there were jumps, I found something missing.
————————————————————————-
I would rate this novel 4-Toad Awesomeness-Stars😉

I am so here for a story that has a heroine who learns how to get out of a bad situation & come out stronger on the other side. Alex learned how to love herself & that was my favorite part of this story. Noah was DELICIOUS. The ultimate ladies’ man who has a huge heart underneath the bad boy image. Both characters needed a good smack on the backs of their heads while they tried navigating their relationship, but that’s what makes for that yummy angst we love to read. An awesome story that I highly recommend!

3.5/4 stars - I’m really struggling with my rating. The first half of this book was explosive in the best way to be. I couldn’t put it down.
Noah and Alex had chemistry that I’m not sure I’m ever read about in such a in depth way that I felt it to my core. Their love and friendship was undeniable. Like some of the hottest spicy scenes I’ve ever read.

However, all of their issues would of been solved with communicating and staying instead of running. I had serious whiplash from all the push and pull. Don’t even get me started on Noah’s “whore-ish” ways when Alex was away.

With that being said, I really loved Noah as a hero. He was so genuine and kind - loyal to a fault to Alex - especially in the midst of her destructive marriage. He was the best friend she never knew she needed.

⚠️TW: domestic abuse

We're fighting fear with fear, a war that will always end before it even starts.

Have you ever read a romance with two main characters so frustrating that you want to bang their heads together like coconuts? But you also can't stop reading their love story because you are just as addicted to them as they are with each other? Welcome to Seek Me.⁣

And let me be clear. I'm not saying that it's frustrating in a negative way, more so that I wanted these two to pull their heads out of their asses and officially get together because I'm impatient and they are so damn cute together. The fact that I was so frustrated proved to me how invested I was in Alex and Noah's relationship.⁣

Alex is so super sweet. She just wants to create, live, and breathe her art, make friends, and find her place in the world. She's a broken shell of a person when we are first introduced to her in the beginning due to her 7 year marriage to an abusive man. After she meets Noah, she begins to realize her worth, build her inner strength, and love herself again. It was a very rewarding experience reading Alex's journey.⁣

"When you look at me, I feel brilliant. Sexy and badass and cool. All the things I know I am . All the things he took from me..."

Noah is a sexy, tattooed, pierced, and funny as all hell actor. Noah is a lady's man in all ways. He loves women, he loves the company of women, and of course he loves to bed them. He never gets attached, and he likes it this way...until he meets Alex and the bruises on her arms. Noah is extremely patient and supportive of Alex while she figures out a way to leave her husband. Noah will melt your panties as well as your heart. He's the whole package.⁣

"I'm already fighting the bad stuff all the time. I don't want to fight the good anymore. I want to savor it."

⁣They are both hesistant to start a sexual relationship while Alex is still legally married, but of course they eventually give in to their desires and form a friends with benefits situation. Their friendship always comes first no matter what, even when the decisions of one hurts the other. Yes, this is where a lot of the frustration comes into play. I often found myself yelling "Come on already. Just open your mouth and tell her/him how you feel." But they don't for the longest time because they are both crazy scared to be in a commited relationship. So what we get is a love story that spans over 4 years of time. 4 years of lust, friendship, trust, resentment, anger, guilt, and some serious masochistic closeted yearning over each other. It’s just the bee’s knees. It deserves a *chef’s kiss*.⁣

"Alexandra Hope Mackenzie, I spent four years falling in love with you, which leads me to believe that I can go the rest of my life and never truly stop falling."

This is my second book by Nyla K and I've come to the conclusion that she is now an auto buy author for me and here's why:⁣

She is a mastermind at writing raw, messy, complicated, and realistic relationships. Her writing isn't overly flowerly but it's beyond beautiful. Time after time, she is able to pull emotions out of me and make me connect with and fall for the characters. Cheating used to be a hard limit, and a hated plot device/trope of mine. But Nyla K has been able to change my mind because of the way she writes it.⁣

So yes, Seek Me is a must read in my opinion. It is a 5 star read, and now I can't wait to go back and read Andrew and Tessa's story. ⁣

Overall rating: 5 stars⁣

Steaminess: 4 stars⁣

I was sent this ARC by Nyla K in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve become a huge fan of Nyla K, so when the opportunity to read her latest book presented itself, I couldn’t wait! Get ready, because she writes big, thick books, and every page is packed full of goodness.

Friends to lovers with a twist! Best friends with benefits that turns into so much more, and the so much more is going to keep you flipping pages.

I loved how Noah and Alex met and how effortless their connection was...you could tell there was something special there, but I was surprised how it played out! Alex was trapped in a life that no one should be trapped in. She just needed someone to believe in her and have her back, and that someone came in a ridiculously sexy, tattooed package. Noah wanted to help her, but knew he had to tread carefully. So friends it is, or at least that’s what they think, however they’re kidding no one but themselves. Their friendship became everything and they were so freaking cute together!

I laughed at their ridiculously funny banter, I swooned at how much Noah cared about Alex and wanted to protect her, I definitely had to fan myself when things heated way the hell up, and I was frustrated beyond belief at these two! My heart would go from soaring to breaking and back again. I was incredibly invested in these two and needed them to get their happily ever after. Their road wasn’t easy, but it was so worth it!

I received a free ARC for an honest review.

Where do we start? Geez! This book will make you laugh, cry, and wish to be Alex.

My favorite scene was the mario kart scene. No spoilers but it's cute hot!

Noah is a sweet bad boy with a heart of gold.

Alex is an artist lost in a life she created with a master manipulator.
When their worlds collide it's fireworks, drama and an emotional rollercoaster you can't help but want to puke from the angst and cheer because of the best parts. You want to ride it again and again.

My first Nyla K book was push and this by far is better than even that!

Seek Me, by Nyla K, was an astonishing read about a friends with benefits love story that just leaves you wanting more. I could not put down the book for more than a few minutes at a time! I enjoyed reading the chemistry between the two protagonists and how they developed seemed natural. The humor was well done and at times did a well job to offset the hard topic of abuse, which Nyla K also did a great job at writing. I’m glad Alex got to heal and bloom into a stronger person. Noah was there to help her through the motions and I couldn’t think of someone better to be with Alex. I throughly enjoyed this novel, and Nyla is one of my favorite authors, and I can’t wait to read more by her!

Move over Andrew James, Noah Richards is the ultimate book boyfriend 😍

Like any other Nyla K book Noah & Alex's story was 🔥🔥🔥

They are such a wonderful couple and I am so glad they get their HEA despite the numerous times I wanted to reach through the book and strangle them both!

And boots 😭 my heart. I cried so hard.

My favorite quote from the book that perfectly sums up Alex & Noah:

"Alex took up roots in my heart, and now I’m surrounded by an overgrown forest of her."

Absolutely loved their story ❤️

Woah! I just know my words will not do this amazing read justice. Noah and Alex are everything! Their journey had so many bumps in the road and in the end it only made them stronger. This story brings the emotion, the passion, and is extremely sexy!

Alex is a fighter and I love that she is able to break free, and live her life the way she wants. Noah is beyond sexy and he is so caring! These two compliment each other and have extreme chemistry that sparks off the pages! Their tender moments and their intimate moments are beautifully written and put a huge smile on my face. These two denying that what they have between them is more than casual, and the way that they wouldn’t voice it to other, broke my heart.

This story elicited so many emotions and I couldn’t tear myself away. One of the things I love most about Alex and Noah’s story is no matter how long they are apart, they come back and it’s like no time has past, and their love is just as strong or stronger. A heartfelt, passionate story! Nyla put her heart into these characters, their story and it shows in the wonderful writing. I can’t wait to read Nyla’s next book!

I absolutely loved this book. There's nothing I didn't love about the story, from the first page I was hooked and couldn't stop turning the pages. I loved the chemistry between Noah and Alex and how their relationship develops. I really enjoyed the humor in the story. This story is well written, with an intriguing storyline, and has heartbreaking moments, friendship, and steamy scenes. A wonderful read and one I definitely recommend.

This is one amazing book about friends with benefits love story. Definitely leaves you wanting more and more. Seriously omg good. The sex scenes are hot. Noah and Alex are the best couple ever. They had a rocky road but pushed through it. If you haven't read this yet please do. Nyla is one of the greatest and you won't regret it.

I received this as a gift. It is the first book of miss Nyla's that I have read. It was such a delight from beginning to end. The character development was awesome. There were lots of trials that they both needed to overcome before they were ready to finally be together. Noah is the sweetest most selfless male lead that I have read about thus far. Alex impressed me with her strength and resilience. They're story wasn't rainbows and butterflies, but it was perfect for them. Now I gotta go read the first three books!

OMG Nyla killed it again. Noah’s been my book boyfriend ever since reading Midnight City and I’ve been waiting so long for his story and I am far from disappointed. As always, Nyla provides every thing from steamy sex scenes to heartbreaking moments. I seriously can’t remember the last time I cried like this over fictional characters!

I hate to be greedy but when is the next book Nyla????

WHAT Can I say about Alex and Noah?!
I really loved the story of their friendship, turned something more. Nyla knocked it out of the park with this one, y'all.
The angsty, slow burn was worth every steamy torturous moment from page one to the end. I love that I can see Nyla's growth as an author with this recent release. Her stories have always pulled me in and this one was no different.

If I gush anymore, I'll share spoilers, and I don't do thatttttt...so go read Seek Me. You won't be disappointed.

I've read all of the fabulously talented Nyla's books, and I was not dissapointed by this one either. I cried, SOBBED is the better word, FIVE times, freaking five! I'm a hopeless romantic and such a sap, but darn, this book had it all.

If you enjoyed the other three books in her The Midnight City Series, then you are going to love this one! As it follows Noah and Alex, two characters from it!! It's standalone, and can be read on it's own, no need to read the other three to get you in the story. BUT it is so perfectly interwoven with some of the events that went down in TMCS, but from the OTHER side of the tracks perspective, that I would read the other three just to see the entire thing. And plus Tess and Andrew's love story is so stinking perfect.

As this is a Nyla book, it's an 18+ recommend read, and a BIG BABY. Be ready to dedicate a day to read it through, you aren't going to want to put it down.

Ryan Harper passes the best book boyfriend title over to Noah Richards, and boy does he earn that!! A story that frustrates you, but in all the good ways, and makes you want to smack Alex and Noah in the head and just scream "JUST TALK ALREADY!!!"

Alex is a sweet, battered woman exiting a bad marriage and learning to stand on her own two feet. Noah is a dark prince, who hides his unhappiness behind lots of ink, an easy smile, and more bed partners than you may find socially acceptable. That is until that fated meeting in Manhattan.

Follow their love story full of; wrong times, missed opportunities, heated reunions, a million tears, just as many smiles and two people being put through the ringer and forced to walk to hell and back, but not as alone as they both think. Alex and Noah are my new OTP. Another FLAWLESS victory from my Jess! The easiest 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 review I've ever given. I'll definitely be reading this again...and again.

“Alex took up roots in my heart, and now I’m surrounded by an overgrown forest of her”

I finally gathered the courage to read this book and man it was a ride. Seek me is a friends with benefits story between an actor named Noah and an artist in an abusive marriage named Alex. These two have an instant attractions towards each other and an instant friendship. As a way to escape her horrible home life, Alex turns to Noah for friendship which quickly turns into a friends with benefits type situation. Their relationship spans years of love and heartache and blooms an intense of committing to each other fully.

These two were SO FRUSTRATING. I have never wanted to throw my kindle against the way like I did while I was reading this book. These two needed to get their act together and admit their love for one another but they just wouldn't do it and I was going insane!!!! While it drove me nuts, I still enjoyed the angst and the push and pull between these two. Alex and Noah were such a cute couple and they had the best banter. Noah was such a goofy guy while also being incredibly hot and loving. Alex was fierce and strong and stubborn as all heck.

The story is beautifully written and takes you on a journey of angst while also being FULL of steamy scenes. I enjoyed this book a lot, however I think I would have liked it better if it was a bit shorter!

I love Noah & Alex!
It was clear in the start with her husband Alex was just a niave young girl who wanted to be loved but it was clear to the reader Roger was a bit creepy.
To start with I thought Noah was so fun because he was young but we find out Noah is only 3 years younger than Roger. It just was that Noah was much more made for Alex than Roger was. Alex and Noah have such fun and banter, you can’t help but love them.
While I do love them as a couple they both needed a bit of a boot to get their shit together. When Alex kept leaving and they didn’t speak for months this broke my heart. Thankfully in the end they both wised up and realised they should be together. The chemistry between them is so strong I think they have to be one of my favourite book couples.
This book was a long one!! Sometimes the chapters were a bit too long and I did sometimes get a bit urghh just wanting them to get it together but that’s the only bad point I have on this book. It is a fantastic piece of writing.

Well, I just spent the last four days reading this wonderful story.
I knew it was friends to lovers but had no idea what I was getting myself into.
To say this story is delightful is an understatement. I laughed my ass off for 580 pages (minus the ones where I cried like my cat had died).
Noah is now a member of my exclusive book boyfriend club. He is kind, selfless, absolutely hysterical, not to mention hot AF.
Alex was strong, talented, and bold. I admire her so much.
Nyla K's writing hit me in the face many times, making me highlight a lot of her down-to-earth, unapologetic poetry. The level of humor warmed my heart and earned me quite a few stares from my family, who thought I looked like a lunatic laughing by myself while staring at my phone.
This story isn't taboo like Nyla's previous book Push, which is maybe why this is her most underrated story, something that needs to be rectified immediately because this is her best book to date, hands down.
Smart, hilarious, angsty, erotic, and completely heartwarming, this book now belongs on my shelf of favorite reads of 2020.
Way to go Nyla K!
I can't wait to get sloshed on more of your words!

MY RATING: 3*
TITLE: Seek Me
AUTHOR: Nyla K
SERIES:Midnight City #4
RELEASE DATE: 01 March 2020
CLIFFHANGER: No

I gave this book a three because while its absolutely my type of jam, the morally questionable type of romances. My gripe was the back and forth between Noah and Alex, over and over and over fucken again over the same shit. Did my fucken head in.

Good!

I'm new to this author, and my first venture was "To Burn In Brutal Rapture" which was amazing. I then found this one, after discounting the others in this series as the male protagonist was an actor. Little pet hate of mine as my perception is—true or not—that actors are less prone to fidelity, narcissistic, and shallow, this then affects my enjoyment going in...So I don't even start. But I started this only to find the male protagonist was...an actor. I persevered anyway as I now know how brilliant this author is, but it didn't resonate for me. Had I read this as my first book by this author, would I have thought more of it? I'm not sure.

I think I found my new favourite author. This is the second book I’ve read from Nyla K. I love how it’s not a quick and easy path to the HEA. That’s something I’ve noticed from both of the books I’ve read.
There were many times while reading this book I just wanted to bang my head on something and shake both Noah and Alex for how clueless they were about each other.

I absolutely LOVE this series! I always knew there was a lot more to Noah than what we saw in the 1st 3 books. They were definitely made for each other! Such a good book! I didn't want this series to end. So would love to read about William and Brandon and Fi and Johnny, while still getting more of Andrew, Tessa, Noah, and Alex!

Based on vibes alone, this was good, but it was also a bunch of nothing? The middle 50% was so repetitive. I was over it very quickly and sped read the rest of the way through

Also, that cover is fucking terrible. Why does it look like she has an untreated bacterial infection on her wrist? Get the girls some antibiotics or find a new illustrator.
