They’re the ones in power, so why are they are so afraid of me?
Newly minted magic user? Check. Hot-as-hell boyfriends who want only me? Check. A fresh start after surviving a murderous attack? Yeah, about that…
They said choosing a life at Stormwood Academy wouldn’t be easy. But nobody mentioned it would make me a target. Another thing they forgot to mention—the secret faction that wants me dead. I thought the class system died an appropriate death, but it’s alive and well and those in power would like it to stay that way, thank you.
But I opted-in to this life, and in the process chose four incredible men who have also chosen me. I’ll be damned if I’ll let anyone take away what my men and I found. There’s a sinister underside to this magic world, and its sights are set on me.
So even though I am happier than I’ve ever been in many ways, the powers that be are turning a blind eye to those who want to exterminate me and destroy the bonds I have created. I might have a thing or two to say about that.
**Reverse Harem fans will want to one-click the exciting sequel in this steamy paranormal academy romance series.**
Upcoming release dates: Hidden Power: January 23, 2020 Forbidden Bond: February 27, 2020 Shadow Promise: March 31, 2020
Publisher’s note: Academy of Elemental Magic is a reverse harem supernatural fantasy academy series with magic and steam meant for mature readers.
Fiona Starr is a USA Today Bestselling Author of Paranormal Romance. She writes everything from Reverse Harem to M/F, as long as it has magic, shifters, and other creatures! She loves fated mates and enemies to lovers romance, even better when it's set in a gripping mystery. Actually, most tropes are fair game, as long as we get to the HEA (which we always do!). She lives her happily ever after in the mountains of Colorado with her hunky husband and their fleet of fur babies.
so like the first one, i found this one kind of bland. like every character felt kind of boring. it was a quick read and it's good if u want to forget the chaotic life we are all living right now. but don't expect a grand novel. also the ending was kind of anticlimactic, was ready for something more. let's see the last one of the trilogy, i guess.
So im super pumped for the next book which is out March 31st which feels like forever away lol.
Seriously though im so happy 😍😍😍
I will say that it did finish rather quickly.
I wished thered have been a scene with blake and her like hugging and bestie moments and thanking her etc
Also a scene with stolken who im hoping just got stuck or went into hiding as a cat and will be back and like avas no1 cheerleader and order of five stuff with the vox etc
Defs needed some siren wrap up or closure bonding outcome of that situation with dear old dbag case.
Gabby and holly and some more class stuff besides the self defense one wouldve been fun too.
I know the mean ex bitch showed up once shortly just to remind readers that they indeed did hate her guts lol i mean who blames the other woman you dont habe to like em but its the dudes fault the chick didnt cheat on you he did! Even if it was done in a way were you dont consider him so much a cheater as a too nice slash cowardly slash idiot rather than ya know betrayal butyeah anyway wouldve been interesting to see her comment on her blind friend or the sasha end of 'relationship' talk at the very least something besides the typical insults if we have to see her let it be new at least although i guess it waa good to show us control of powers.
I wouldve liked to see a little more hanging out at lunch etc banter like the sunrise thing or more guys/family bonding before the end i mean it was right and raffs place defs had future potential as their home base slash hangout bonding war cabinet type deal.
Also just her general use of powers for mediocre things like its cool she can kick arse but like healing maybe growing some plants idk more chill casual stuff like stirring a drink with a wave of the hand or using wind or whatever to push the last cookie to her haha. Electricity lightning she used in book one to have sprakly fingers or jump start a car if she was allowed off campus or for some reason it was bad joo joo their and they had to run and hide or go get the other vox oooo so many ideas haha.
OH and we defs need her to be doing some granny prison break stuff legal or not!!!
But yeah loved it love the series world characters fucking romance is amazeballs i mean for real. Thank fuck the mean girl shit is minimal too. 😍😍😍
We have some mystery and love triangle. Ava does not have to wear the collar anymore to control her magic. Now Raff's father is at the academy, but why? Raff and his sister Blake are confused and Blake is scared. Ava still sees her and Whitt doing things when they touch. Will it ever happen? her other mates are so good to her too. But what has got Blake upset? What will the boys do to protect her? Can they accept each other?

So this book left me feeling a couple of different emotions. I like the story line but I was uncomfortable reading about the many guys she was having relations with. I understand yo each their own and that people have bonds but it was just strange to me. On the other side though I found myself wanting to know what happend next. Overall it was okay, some of the writing was a bit bland but the plot showed promise.
I really enjoyed this more than the first book. The antagonist is no some person who hides behind the scenes, but up close and in their face. Good mystery, well paced, and has a nice payoff at the end.
I need more! Wow I cannot wait to start the next book! So far this series has been nothing but amazing! I love how free and easy these books ate to read. Yes, there is a bit of drama but for the most part it's a light kind of drama if that makes since. A quick fun read!
This is the second book in the Academy of Elemental Magic series. We find our heroine settling in to academy life, with her guys. The three of them; Sasha, Raff and Jamey all know about each other and have accepted it. The conflict in this book is Raff’s dad. He the equivalent of the POTUS but for the magic community. So a pretty powerful position. He has decided to act as an adjunct professor at the academy. We find it’s really not about teaching for him. He wants Ava, or more specifically, he wants her power.
I like this book better than the first book. The first book was all Ava’s POV. This book is told from all the main character’s POV. I like that so much better. Our Ava does move fast with men, in that the fourth member of her harem has shown up and he’s the from her vision in the first book. He’s a new associate professor, and he’s a mage (earth elemental) and fae. While she jumped in bed with him fast, just like the others, I admit that for some reason I found their scene to be pretty hot, beginning with their conversation in the infirmary to her waking up amongst a bed of flowers the next morning. I’m still solid Team Jamey though.
One thing I appreciated about Ava’s character, is she is the first one I’ve read, in these academy series, that understands that she’s in no position to demand exclusivity from her men - since she’s not exclusive. She says she would understand if one of her men wanted to have a relationship with someone outside their group. I wish the author would have gone with something there. I think it would have set this series apart from the rest. I’m just conflicted as to what I would want her response to be . . . Jealousy? To admit that she can’t handle it afterall and ask to be exclusive? Or truly go with the flow and accept it.
In any event, I hope we see more of Whitt in the next book, cuz I freely admit that one of the stars in my rating is all due to him . . . And the opening scene of Ava in bed with my Jamey. That was some way to open a book!

Ava is still learning how to use her magic properly, the threat of it being taken is serious. She wants to everyone to see she can do it. Ava is also enjoying her relationships with her men. Ava finds out that finds out that Rafferty's father is going to be at the school now. She has barely seen him since. Ava is also worried about Blake, she is not doing well since the announcement. When the headmaster comes up to her in secret with a package and cryptic message, she doesn't know what to do about it. She goes to meet Sasha for their meeting. Sasha is a no show, she decides to go back to her room. When Sasha finally shows up, he is not himself. He is not making sense at all. When he collapse, he is taken to the clinic for help. They find out that someone tried magic on him. With him being so strong, didn't work properly. They will do everything to help him. Ava finally speak to Whit about what they feel when they touch and how they seem to know each other. She wonders about the flashes she has of him. He has answers to some of his questions.
Who is after Ava now? Will her guys be able to help her through this or will they fall in trying to save her. What about the headmaster. There is a lot going on with this story, you will see what Ava , her magic, her men will be to keep her and others safe.

This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.

I jumped into this second book as soon as I finished the first book. Even though I found the first book to be just ok, it held my interest enough that I wanted to continue with this series. And find out where this series would take Ava and her men.
The more I think about this series and Ava, the more I realize that Ava's character is just, ehhhh. She's not really exciting and she's not really boring, she's just ehhhhh. I think the author could have really expanded on her character and made her something more. Really expanded on her Vox potential. There's moments where it's like, "Yes we get to see her powers." and than it just kinda dies off.
Again Jamey and Raff are definitely my favorites in this series as far as the guy's go. Sasha definitely improves in character in this book for me. And we have a new guy enter the picture in this book named Whitt, I'm not a big fan of Whitt's, and that's just because of a personal prefrence of mine. I'm not a big fan of when author's throw in another guy into the mix in the second or even third books. I feel like when a author does that it kind of throw's off the dynamics that the group already has going or is growing.
I will say that even though I wasn't a big fan of the new guy being thrown into the mix. I did really enjoy this book much more than the first. We finally got some action and excitement in this book.
Aww I liked this. I had a headache while reading this so I didn’t exactly have an amazing time but I could see it there. It was a little quick and I was surprised when I saw that I was already at the 89% mark on my kindle. The bad guy was pretty creepy, the buildup was alright. A little draggy in some parts but I might’ve just been impatient. The sex scenes will always throw me off because her issues and her lack of experience in this new world will always remind me of a high schooler and her racy thoughts are always like a bucket of water, reminding me that she’s a grown woman with grown guys.
The guys are fine. There’s just something make this less than perfect for me and I’m not sure what it is. Maybe that it reads like YA more than half the time, or maybe that it goes from sex to problem like we’re flipping red cups. Either way, it wasn’t perfect for me but I had some fun when things were getting naughty.
I’d read this if it was on kindle unlimited but I don’t think I’d continue otherwise. Seeing as I have kindle unlimited, I’m totally heading to the next one.
This series has a good plot to it however, it is mostly about sex and then a quick dangerous adventure towards the end. The relationship between them is to rushed and the author has not given any way for them to get to no each other. I normally read other books and think come on get serious already when it hits the second book but there is no detail in this series that makes you think that in fact all I have done is sigh and roll my eyes. The author has made the female character sound like a s&%t quiet frankly and it's getting boring. So if you want to read a series with more sex and adding people to her Harlem without getting to no their favourite colour this is the perfect story. However, if you want to read an action packed, love story look some where else. Also the author has done this book in 148 pages which is not enough to capture anything really. I'm disappointed because the foundation is there it's just been completely tarnished.
After reading the first book I was nervous to read this one because it was a bit of a mess. However, I was pleasantly surprised. This was a lot better! More put together and made much more sense. Things are becoming more serious for Ava and her guys all 4 of them. I really like Whitt he's very sweet and had an old world feel to him. Gentleman and treats her well and doesnt push her. Things are getting interesting when Rafferty and Blake's Dad comes into the picture. Bad vibes that dude. By the end it wasnt a surprise but I feel for them because he was their Dad although he's a horrible person. He was the President of the magic community and Council. Ava also learns a lot more about her kind. So, I enjoyed this 2nd book much better than the first. Going to be finishing up the series shortly.
I’m still a little peeved that Sasha didn’t have to grovel at all and the whole girlfriend situation basically just went away. I love the premise of these books I think for me personally they just feel a little like you’re on the outside looking in but not really living it with them. Like when you call a long distance friend twice a year to catch up and get updates on their life and they skim over everything and only really focus on a couple things. There also isn’t a ton of romance like your typical fated mates book, but some people might love that! The build up to the big scene we were waiting for was quick but surprisingly good, but I’m interested to see where book 3 takes us because honestly book 2 felt like the end, and even had a HFN ending.
Ava is learning more about herself and her magic getting past the fact that a couple of girls tried to use a wraith to kill her and every day she spends with Sasha, Raff and Jamey is special but something is wrong at the Academy of Elemental Magic. And when Raff and Blake dad shows up things get scary he's up to something bad someone attacks Sasha and almost drives him crazy. But it all leads up to the build up between Ava and Whitt and what they mean to each other they will all have to work together to keep Ava from being bound to Raff's dad he's pure evil.
I was allowed to receive and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
Part two in this magical series. Ava is still on the academy and she is working on learning how to use the magical powers she has. And she is learning it quickly, but she is working hard for it. But someone wants her power. Her three men become four and they want and try helping to protect her.
Hot steamy read with magic, evil and action.
I like it how Ava is a strong woman and she works hard for it. I also like how her men are trying to protect her, but not because she can’t do it herself, but because they care about her. The last chapter was the best one I think.
Wow this book has grown and grown into a more amazing mind blowing series. We see Ava and her four hot men get closer by the end of this book. While they all go through their own set of twists and turns to follow information each has gathered due to one man, trying to gain Ava to make him more powerful. The guys and Ava fight back in their own way to stop the forced bond. The end of the book will leave you so happy after the ordeal they all went through. Even though we know in the next book it's going to get so much more intense. Totally can't wait for that!!!
So this one reveals so much and you will think that its the last book but its not... There is one more to finish after this. you find out who is behind all of ava's troubles and who is the mystery man in the vision when sash tried to share his power with her so she could see how it works. She also find out that the vox elementals are not so extinct as she thought either and how dangerous it really is for them... This book makes you think about your actions and how just because someone is different doesn't mean they are bad or dangerous. It opens your eyes to how cruel people can really be.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!! I loved reading this book. Ava had were guys were great! In this book we got to know more about Whitt and somewhat why Ava has the connections with her guys. This book has so many twists and turns, suspense and steam that is was hard to put down without finishing it first! Ms. Fiona did a fantastic job and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Well danger and drama certainly seem to find Ava and her guys. But now that she’s found that she’s attracted to four men, everything seems to click into place. However, that doesn’t mean everything goes smoothly, specially when magic is involved. It seems there’s always some type of challenge or secret facing them, and Ava, Jamey, Raff, Sasha and Whitt will get through things together.
This is a fantastic and interesting story that incorporates magic in a very compelling way. This is an amazing book 2 in the series that really nicely continues the series. The suspense, steam and magic really make for a story that I cannot wait to continue in the next installment.

In book two of the Academy of Elemental Magic Ava's learning more about her magic and the guys do everything they can to protect her. This is an action packed read filled with suspense, magic, steam, unexpected twists and an ending that left me ready for the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I enjoyed this series. I love when a book starts out and I'm already hooked. I also love when a book keeps my attention from beginning to end. I gave it four stars because while I found this series interesting, it didn't keep me interested enough for me to go on to the next book.
Forbidden Bond (Academy of Elemental Magic #2) by Fiona Starr is an awesome story to read. This is book number two in this awesome series and I can not wait to read book number three in this awesome series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about reverse harem and paranormal romance.

My only complaint is that is was difficult to remember who is who and what kind of took place from the 1st book. But other then that it was an awesome book. I love Ava and her misfortunes. I cant wait to read the third book.

THIS IS BOOK 2 OF THE ACADEMY OF ELEMENTAL MAGIC SERIES. I LOVE THIS SERIES. BOOK 2 IS WELL WRITTEN AND THE CHARACTERS ARE AS WELL. I LOVE AVA AND HER GUYS. THE STORY GRABS YOU FROM THE START AND YOU WANT TO KEEP READING. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND READING.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The whole build up to find out the bad guy was done throughout this next book, but the resolution was too quick and almost anti-climactic. I mean, bad guy found out and then BAM that’s it? I know there’s another book after this and this is probably just the “tip of the iceberg” so hopefully there’s a more fulfilling ending.
I am enjoying this serie of Elemental Magic. The author does not over describe the scenes on overlong shpeels. She gives her readers the opportunity to follow the characters sans distractions. I enjoyed reading this 2nd installment as I had enjoyed reading the first.
This series grew on me. I just wanted to see where she was going. I read all three books so far and I feel there is are many more stories and adventures to be had in this series. This fight is not going to end so easy. But I really want to see what the originals can accomplish for the good of their people. Look forward to the next phase!
