Is he after her heart or her planet?

Evelyn Chambers is a nerdgirl and proud of it. When she finds out that her drop-dead gorgeous best friend is an alien general with only three days left on Earth, she has to wrap her head around too much at once. Aliens are real, and if she wants to keep hanging out with one, she'll have to marry him!

Adam Smith has never seen a planet as beautiful as Earth or a woman as enticing as Evelyn. His government wants him to re-enlist, but when Evelyn suggests marriage to help him stay, Adam realizes that what he really wants is her—and he'll sacrifice everything to be with her.

Can he convince his government—and Evelyn—that he's looking for more than a Gray card?

Fun, short read with an alien general who just wants to get away from it all with a geeky earth girl. Of course the galactic bureaucrats hate that idea.

Evelyn and Adam are best friends but they both really like each other. So when Evelyn realizes that Adam is sad about something she asks what and when he tells her that he has to go back home in three days, she's shocked. But the bigger shock is she proposes to him not realizing he's an alien. But Adam loves her and she loves him and doesn't want him to leave. Evelyn has a lot of come to terms with in a short amount of time. When Adam tells the liaison that he doesn't plan on going back to their planet with him, he tries to break Adam and Evelyn up by telling her exactly who Adam is.

When she confronts Adam about it, it's not the way he wanted her to find out but she takes it pretty well. But the liaison doesn't stop there, making things worst for them. But Adam isn't going to give up and enlists the help of others to put a stop to whatever nefarious things the liaison seems to be doing.

All in all this was a fun, quick read. I really liked Adam and Evelyn and hope that more aliens show up on Earth.

This was a cute and quirky story of two people who don't belong together - they come from different places. VERY different places. Given the novella length, there was a solid story with only the bad-guy being a bit thinly developed. Sex was hot but not sizzling, with the angst of "we can't be together" hovering over much of it.

But hey - HEA!

I'll read the next one.

Adam is an alien military officer whose tour is done and he wanted to see Earth. Evelyn loves all things space. She and Adam are in love. We are not really told how they meet, but dropped in the middle of their relationship (and story).
Anyway, things work out just fine, the end.

This was a cute story, but very short. The characters said their “I love you”s very quickly, and we don’t get to see much of the build up to that point, though we are told that they’ve spent quite a bit of time together. I liked how spunky Evelyn was, and how resourceful as well when confronted with a dangerous situation. I would have loved this to be a longer story, and am interested in looking for the author’s other works!

cute quick read that I would have enjoyed more had I been able to watch the romance grow instead of being checked into the story right at confession time.

A cute, but short story. I would have liked to have seen a bunch of scenes of their friendship. The book barely starts and they jump into bed together. The stuff about him investigating his liaison and about looking into getting a gray card could have taken more of the book. It was free and a novella, though well written, so I can't really complain.

Our H/h already know each other, so basically, we get smut and our H’s meeting up with his crew and taking out a corrupt liaison. Kinda like reading the last 50 pages of a book. I *hope* this was a freebie, because it was very short.

I definitely went into this expecting a bit more world building (I didn't realize how short it was). Evelyn was cute and Adam was ok, but the description made it seem like Evelyn was in in the fact Adam was an alien?

It made the drama part fall more into the miscommunication category then the "we need to discuss the ramifications of being together" category. Which was taken care of REAL QUICK by the way.

That's what this book lacked - suspense. Tension. Even in fluffy reads there has to be anticipation of some kind, something that engages the reader to keep reading despite knowing how it ends (in a general romance way).

Yet there was none here. Evelyn wants who she wants, Adam wants who he wants, and they're both so self-sacrificing they'll make it work. Our antagonist was an interesting digression, but other then menacing Evelyn (not really she doesn't trust him at all) and threatening Adam, he's ALSO taken care of quickly while being given a one note "friends in high places" excuse as to why he was so corrupt.

I was annoyed - I wanted to see more development and less telling about that development.

A cute and quick inter species read and great set up for the series. Evelyn and Adam have something going on until he realizes he will not be allowed to stay on Earth and she doesn’t know he is an alien.

This book is recommended for readers 18+ due to sexual content.

This was a very quick, cute read. The puns are terrible but help establish Evelyn's character. She is so quirky and cute. This is the perfect woman to fall for an alien. Adam is, likewise, adorable. Other than the sex scenes this is a very light, sweet paranormal romance

Wonderful...

This is the phenomenal beginning to a series by a new to me, author. If the rest of the stories are as well written as this one they have to be amazing also! It is also one of the few books I have read in awhile without any typos! Unfortunately, I am on a limited income and unable to read the rest.😭

Quick read and boy did I feel like I was thrown into the middle of it. This short novella sorely needed some kind of introduction to the world the writer created. Having said that, Gray Card is a fun read worth the lunch hour it took to read.

Eve(lyn) and Adam, human and alien, respectively, are friends, but Evelyn wants it to be more. Adam secretly wishes the same. Evelyn is a plain Jane, while Adam is a gorgeous alien Adonis. Adam's time on earth is drawing to an end, but he's not ready to leave Evelyn. The only way Adam can stay is to marry Evelyn and give up his position as general and never return to Sadr-4, his homeworld.

One afternoon in the park, Evelyn and Adam profess their feeling are more potent than friendship and share their first kiss, which quickly gets out of hand, according to "Karen" the park monitor who warns them that kids come to the park. Evelyn surprises Adam by proposing to him after he tells her he is leaving. Adam and Evelyn take things back to her place, and after the deed between the sheets is complete, Adam agrees to marry Evelyn. Not because he wants to stay on earth or the hot sex, but because he loves her. Evelyn tells Adam she loves him, and off they are for their HEA. UntilTodd Simms, an alien liaison, tries to steal Adam and Evelyn's happiness.

On my Were Scale of Hotness, 3 stars.

Light, Fun Science Fiction Romance

Nerd girl finds the perfect man for her. Evelyn has dreamt of space and sf her whole life. She meets Adam, awkward and quiet and gorgeous. Dreams of him join the mix. She didn't know he could make all her dreams come true.

Well-written, fun, with nary a typo in sight, this story waltzes through danger, risk and sacrifices we make for love. Evelyn is a different type of strong heroine. She's witty and badass but also soft and girly. Adam is alpha and beta simultaneously. They make an excellent couple. This is an excellent story.

Maybe 3.5 stars. A bit better than average, but not quite a 4 star read. This was fun, but I would have liked more. The story started on the day that Evelyn decides to try to shift their friendship to a romance, and Adam finds out that he has to leave the planet. It definitely plunges the reader into the story with both feet, but we miss them getting to know each other initially and a lot of what could have been fun, fish out of water stuff with Adam.

Cute story

Adam is told he only has three days left on Earth and then he has to go back to being a General in space. Evelyn doesn't know he's an alien, she thinks he's from another country. She loves him though and suggests they get married so he can stay. Only there is another alien that is a bit crazy and he won't stop until everything is ruined. Quick read.

Superficial characters and limited plot make this a one-star read. There’s more sex than story.

This story was different than the usual alien and human story. It was so cute and totally adorable. I am excited to read the next book in the series.

A fun light SIFI Romance

General Adam Serath, has fallen in with both the protected planet he is visiting on shore leave and with Evelyn. A quirky head student who befriended her. She is cute, with a quick wit and open personally. Adam dreads having to leave and never see her again.
When Evelyn learns her best friend and secrets crush will soon have to return home, she proposes. A few losses later and Adam can't his live without Evelyn in it.
Earth planetary liaison isn't happy and he tries to break them up. Evelyn isn't giving up with out a fight. If it's not safe on Earth she will just have to go home with Adam.
A ligjt, fun, fast paced and steamy, SIFI romance.

I think that Cassandra Chandler, Susan Grant and Lowell Cunningham need to have a talk about setting up a proper authority for immigration, border security and customs entry to Earth. They all seem to have some great ideas of what needs to be done and who should handle it. My question is: should the family sponsorship process work this way? Maybe, maybe not - but it did result in a romance that is literally changing their world (whether we all know about it or not).

Moving homes to an extreme

Taking a well earned vacation on earth, finding the love of his life is a surprise...but until he is due to leave he holds himself back. Finally admitting their feeling open a whole new adventure..and enemies...can they find their HEA mmm. A nice mix of romance, sassy attitude, adventure and what-if...A book you can't put down!!

DNF - quit @ 20%
This was really weird. There’s really no real back story or build up to get to know the characters, to give a reader direction of where this is possibly going to go. This is a novella, but what part I read was worse than most novellas. The blurb was so misleading I lost interest really fast on this one. Thankfully this was free on Amazon, & I’m deleting this from my Kindle.

At my age (61), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

Delightful Short Story

A lightweight read and really enjoyable. Easily turned into a longer novel with endless possibilities, but that is the promise of any well crafted story. Loved it.

A fun romp

An alien general on “shore leave”...what could go wrong? A corrupt government liaison gets in the way of true love. Big mistake! Enjoyed it!

Cute short alien romance. I would have liked a longer story that allowed us to learn more about the Coalition, Adam's crew and how Adam & Evelyn dealt with the fall-out of what they uncovered.
