At His Will

Rate this book
She was caught. Now she will be punished.

Alyson Hart thought nothing could be more embarrassing than being caught stealing by her boss.

She was wrong. Terribly, terribly wrong.

Bare and on display with her bottom burning and tears running down her blushing cheeks, Alyson will learn what shame really means one humiliating lesson at a time. But with every painful punishment and every disgraceful new way her quivering, naked body is used for his enjoyment, it becomes ever more difficult for her to hide the truth from him... or from herself.

She isn't getting what she deserves. She is getting what she needs.

Publisher's Note: At His Will includes spankings, rough sexual scenes, intense and humiliating punishments, and strong D/s themes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

Trigger Warning: This book's blurb is accurate: it contains extreme mental, physical, and emotional humiliation (for example, the H calls the h a "whore" and a "bitch," and no, it's not something she likes).

Sigh. This is a losing battle, but whether or not you like BDSM has nothing to do with whether or not you'll enjoy this book. NOTHING here is BDSM since it's not consensual. It's amazing to me how few people understand this.

Short Version: First, I want to commend SNP for finally writing more specific blurbs. Realizing that the now-overused "dark" and its synonym, the soon-to-be-overused "rough," are simply too vague, they've written a description that actually mentions that the punishments include humiliation. Since this is not everyone's kink, I'm glad they did. I am sorry that they continue to use words associated with the kink community -- such as D/s -- since without consent, there is no D/s; rather, there is illegal, unethical, and immoral abuse as anyone in the lifestyle will tell you. But, hey, baby steps...

Second, this book is well-described, well-written and -edited literary porn (though it is repetitious -- we hear over and over again in their internal monologues that Will wants his revenge and that Alyson is conflicted). There's minimal plot (little more than a collection of scenes), character development, or plausibility (including that anyone would enjoy such treatment). Now, certainly, there's a readership for pure erotica -- sometimes that's all you want for a relaxing evening -- if so and you're not bothered by the above trigger warning (and this story is really heavy on woman as object), you will enjoy this book. But, for those readers who prefer more depth, this will probably not be for you.

For me, however, the H, Will, lives out what I guess is a straight man's wet dream that he'll find a woman who'll take anything he does to her -- slut-shaming her while he does it -- without asking anything of him in return (she's even a D-cup: wow; he's hit the jackpot!). While the h, Alyson, is portrayed as simultaneously a complete victim and the human version of a blow-up sex doll. The prose reads, as other readers have said about this author, like a man describing women, and manages to include nearly every pejorative gendered slur available -- and, no, this isn't part of the humiliation kink ("big tits," "bitch," and "crone" -- since this last is a slur for an older woman, I really, really, really don't understand what sexual fantasy is being played out with that since all it's doing is displaying ageism). Since none of this is my fantasy, this was a hard pass for me. YMMV.

If you're not interested in more detail, you needn't read further.

Long Version: My low rating, however, is not due to the "roughness" since the warning for once was adequate and we all like at least some erotica. It's due to the fact that with three salient plot points, Mr. Evans takes us out of the realm of kink and into the land of ideology. Now, this not only undermines SNP's assertion that the "Spanking and other sexual activities represented in this book are fantasies only," but also takes me out of my enjoyment since I don't like to read about misogyny and classism in my erotica (and, no, this isn't the genre or the sexual practices or the power exchange or whatever, there is actual sexism and classism in this book). Once you preach -- as this book does -- that women and the working-class are there for rich, powerful men to "play with" and benefit from then you don't have "kink" or "fantasy." And that's when you lose this reader.

Here's why:

1) Blame the victim: While I hesitate to say that we're supposed to believe the h's "deserve" their punishments, we're certainly not supposed to feel that they don't since that makes them not erotic, but unfair. In this case, yes, Alyson is guilty of embezzlement, but her reasons as we later find are good (in fact, we realize she had no choice, so I'm not sure what "lesson" Will was supposed to be teaching her). Even though Will doesn't know the full story until nearly the end, there are enough hints that she isn't a typical thief to give him pause -- such as her very low standard of living. Does Will care? No. Does he wonder why she's done what she's done or why she doesn't have the money? Not until far later than anyone else with a half a brain would have. For someone who prides himself on his intelligence, he was awfully incurious about her motivations. Simply asking her about anything didn't cross his mind until it was almost too late.

2) False Choices: This is one of my pet peeves in this genre. Will gives Alyson a "choice:" accept his punishment or go to prison. He tells her this after he learns that she is the sole support of a young son. The "choices" he gives her are actually false choices. They are laid out by him – with no input from her – and both were extreme (either be punished or your son will end up in foster care). What kind of real choice is that? He blackmailed her into all the subsequent sexual acts and the word for that isn't "dark" or "rough" or "humiliating" or whatever, it's rape. Mr. Evans tries to make this palatable by depicting Alyson as attracted to Will, but A) there's no way he could have known how she would react; and B) he was so cold and cruel to her in manner, tone, and language that it was impossible for this reader to buy it. Tip to authors: if you're spending as much of your book as this one does wondering whether or not the acts are rape, then they probably are.

3) Classism: Will is yet another rich, white, male, powerful, entitled a**hole who takes advantage of a powerless single mother whose had left her nearly penniless and who shows no concern for the fact that had he prosecuted her, her son would have gone into foster care. I'm not sure what kink this is supposed to satisfy, but it wasn't mine. If he had at any moment realized that the power imbalance between them was both gendered and socio-economic, I wouldn't have thought this. But Will was so oblivious to any social responsibility (unless it suited him personally) that I never felt this was addressed. I particularly didn't care for the way that he exploited her labor since her accounting skills ended up benefiting him. (I found myself wishing at this point that Alyson would ditch him and open her own accounting practice.) I know, he's "hot;" I guess that excuses everything.

Personally, I hated Will: he was a cold, judgmental, abusive, narrow-minded, misogynistic, snobbish, pompous, cruel, and conceited jerk who profits from gendered, class-based labor both professionally (her accounting skills) and personally (her sensual "skills"). Given how much he used her for his own ends and given how large a pound of flesh he extracted, I saw no difference between him and the . He really does treat her like "a five dollar whore," as she says. And, no, none of this need be typical of the genre. In the 21st century, Me-Too moment no less, he sexually harasses and endangers the professional reputation of one of his employees (but, hey, Harvey Weinstein is really hot, isn't he?). (Side note: It was pretty unbelievable that none of her co-workers said anything.) He also didn't care that he often kept her from her son until it interfered with his pleasure (and the author never bothered to explain until very late in the story where he was while his mother was with Will). I saw nothing interesting, compelling, sexy, or, even at the end, much that was redeeming about him (his volte face was unbelievable; I know other readers may disagree). I guess we were supposed to believe that his treating Alyson as a glorified sex toy was somehow empowering, but given that she never once stood up for herself or even realized how good an accountant she really was, I saw no evidence of any growing self-worth. And, indeed, how could anyone gain any self-respect when they are with someone who fundamentally cares only about his own needs? I know, I know, he . Finally, it was impossible to understand how a concerned mother like Alyson would ever let her son near someone like that. YMMV.

He also demands that she tan herself, thereby risking her health. But, hey, why should a little thing like skin cancer get in the way of sexual pleasure?

1 star. I get that this is fantasy; for me, however, I'm over the entitled rich white male character who would feel at home at a Red Pill convention and the masochistic (and not in a good way) women who enable them.

The ending is odd since it doesn't contain the .

ETA: If you liked this book, that's entirely your prerogative. For me, however, I don't feel comfortable saying anything goes in fantasy/fiction/erotica since it's entirely possible that I may read a book that contains homophobia, transphobia, racism, abelism, antisemitism, islamophobia, xeonophobia, and/or misogyny that I find unpalatable. (Note: I, JD, am NOT saying that any of these -- other than misogyny and classism -- are present in this particular book.) I have read books in this genre that I've considered racist and abled, and I've included those criticisms in my reviews. To not acknowledge that such a possibility exists leads to a slippery slope. Please note that I'm entirely conscious of my own privilege as I say this.

And this, by the way, is the definition of politically correct: "Avoiding language or behavior that any particular group of people might feel is unkind or offensive" (see https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/d...). If you're going to use it, please understand exactly what you're saying.

I'm also not sure what the point of any review is (even a positive one) -- or even if it's possible to review at all -- if it doesn't contain some amount of "judgment."

Second ETA: Sigh...I know this is a losing battle. But, in the interests of the kink community:

If you like this book, that is absolutely your prerogative, but please don't call this "BDSM." I'd harp on this less if I saw that reviewers understood the difference, but many don't: I've seen many reviews for non-consensual books that say that this is the way BDSM actually is. The BDSM community prides itself on practices that are either Safe, Sane, Consensual (SSC) or Risk-Aware Consensual Kink (RACK). Note that both terms include "consensual." When there's no consent (negotiations, limits, safewords) then there's no BDSM, and to so label a book such as this only stigmatizes a lifestyle that is already very misunderstood -- particularly in this case when Will does what NO dom should ever do: punish without consent! If there's anything that you love that you would hate to see described erroneously, please keep that in mind when using the term "BDSM," either for this or other books that do not include explicit consent.

3rd ETA: So, now I know this was originally published as a short story in Take the Heat.

It’s no secret that Trent Evans is a writer of many kinks. He weaves them into each of his books so fluidly…well, it’s a thing of beauty to read each time! He’s my go-to author for books that have a ton of depth in character, worldbuilding, and titillation.

It was no surprise then that I found a plethora of kinky good times in At His Will. What did surprise me, however, is how deep into debasement and humiliation kink this went. We’re talkin’ hypoxic breathing gas is required level of depths here. And I loved every breath-stealing second of it!

Will, Will, Will…oh, how I lurved this Alpha.
...a man whose ethics and morals allowed any number of indulgences, whose worldview and personal philosophy saw nothing wrong at all with coercing her into his dark, perverse dance of dominance and submission.

And his dirty mouth and mind...wow!
"When you're being spanked or caned, you are to what?"
She almost whimpered, but recited the words she knew he demanded. "Display my whore cunt and asshole."

Now to Alyson, the poor li'l thief, caught in her own web and unable to do anything about it. From the very beginning, Will gives her one choice - obey or face the consequences. And poor naive Alyson actually believes that the two are separate choices.

I expected the dub-con element (Okay...I was a greedy slut for it!). What surprised me was how Alyson, and even Will, kept returning to the choice - both in dialogue and introspection - as the story unfolded. In most dub-con, once the acquiescence is achieved, the dubiousness of the actions gets swept under the rug. Consent becomes a non sequitur. This makes it easier as a reader to be submerged into the budding romance that typically takes the lead over the dub-con kink.

Happy to say that was not the case here. At all.

In Will's case, he continued to use Alyson's 'forced' consent to add to her humiliation and debasement. It was brilliant! And sooooo friggin' hot!!! He never let her forget that she put herself in his clutches - by her initial thievery, yes, but also by her continued willingness to abide by their agreement. Such wonderful mindfuckery :)

For Alyson, she continued to question her own reasons for her willingness. Yes, she was between a rock and a hard place, but that didn't mean she should give in and enjoy all the roughness and...hardness. And that was such wonderful mindfuckedness :)
Part of her needed it, to be used, even humilated at the hands of a strong, strict male. A male who would take from her exactly what he wanted, who knew how to use the female body for his own pleasure.

This isn't a typical dub-con turned romance. Will doesn't ever turn into a puddle of mush - Thank Fuck! - but there are tender and sweet moments too. In the end, Alyson got it, as Will knew she would (or is that trained her to? heehee)...
...though he clearly reveled in her subjugation, he'd never belittled her for it, never made her feel deviant or dirty because of it.

Now, that's the definition of romance to me :)

Oh, I almost forgot to mention...there's also a super duper hot medi-kink scene in here. I know Trent Evans has a backlog of books that includes a kinky Alpha doc - that one scene alone makes me want to dive into a whole book devoted to this kink now!

And I'm really hoping that the final scene in the book means we'll be seeing more of the other Alpha's from At His Will ;)

I usually review gladly Trent Evans' books because I'm not going to be conflicted with the rating. I love his ultra-dominant male characters and his brand of domination/submission, although it's not agreeable to current politically correct standards.
At his Will is a clear example: Alyson embezzles money from her boss, Will, and he decides to take it back from her in flesh. He's the quintessential dominant, remorselessly macho, sadistic and cruel and he gets off of humiliating Alyson, who discovers a side of herself she never knew existed. There is a build-up of sexual tension between them, that will explode in a crescendo of shameless smut that may appeal to lovers of erotica.

I found fascinating how Trent explores how some women may find forceful domination and humiliation a turn-on; society says it's degrading and against women's rights...It's actually true, but what about fantasies, and sexual predilections? It may be the way we're wired, so it's not a choice, and even when logic dictates one thing, emotions and feelings sometimes go in a different direction. So, the FMC in this book, although being constantly embarrassed and debased, gets addicted to this treatment because of how it makes her feel. Will is a sadistic bastard (although he never truly harms Alyson) and that's precisely what I loved about him, the man is sex personified.

This book is total smut, incredibly, scorchingly erotic smut; Trent Evans writes the hottest books I've read, and I think it's very daring of him to go against social conventions, but I also appreciate it because fantasy should be free of judgement.

That's why the roughness of the scenes described may be too much for some readers, and others (like myself) will LOVE it. You either feel it or you don't.

Oh boy, so I realized that I really do not have the right preference for reading these types of books anymore. I have read my share and I just figured I don't feel it. Any of it. I'm not there and I can't connect to the characters.
it's way past my tolerance and I realized that i am absolutely not into the whole BDSM world and I just can't get into the whole spectre of it and that's okay.
Just as it is for all those who enjoy it, in or out of the books.
*wink*

to each his own, I say *wink*

so, enjoy, cause this book was very well written.

HANDS DOWN OUTSTANDING! I loooved this one! Looooved it!!! A LOT!!
Most times when choosing to read an erotic story, readers must choose between the erotic OR a well written story.
Not this time. I personally found this one by Trent Evans about Will (H) & Alyson (h) had BOTH & found it to be hands down flat out superb.
Is there heat? Oh, man, YES. The erotic encounters from their very beginning between Will (H) & Alyson (h) fairly sizzle off the Kindle's screen. Every single erotic scene made me bite my lip & breathe just a little bit faster. I was entranced through every erotic scene and the way Will was written, his dominance, the things he said to Alyson & the way he said them just gave me shivers of the BEST kind. The way Alyson was written, how she responded physically, mentally & verbally (verbal when she was able) to his dominance: GAH!!!! Loved it!!
I wasn't able to STOP once I started this book. I intended to start it & finish it the next day. NOPE. I was sucked in & read it in one sitting. I was completely enthralled by the writing, characters & plot, but most importantly the author's writing itself. His writing swirled me deep into the characters world: their situation, their thoughts & feelings, their fears & desires. And it gave me the magic of an excellent book beautifully written: I totally forgot I was reading a book.
I was wrapped up in Will & Alyson's relationship/dynamic, I experienced emotions along with Will & Alyson: excitement, worry, suspense, desire, sympathy & empathy.
I found Will to be an overwhelmingly HOT character: former Spec/Black Ops: ruthless, intelligent, driven, muscular, tall & DOMINANT with a capital D. For me, 2 things kept Will as an awesome character: I never got any feeling he wanted to 'harm' Alyson in any way. Punish? Yes. Push her limits? Yes. Enjoy his darker desires? Oh, Yes. But not at Alyson's expense harm-wise. It became more & more clear that Will WAS exposing Alyson to her own unrealized desires. And that was instrumental in helping HER become who she wanted to be & was intended to be.
I loved Will (uber dominant male that he is), I loved Alyson & felt a lot of empathy for her & feel I understood why she did what she did. I felt her terror & desperation, then her confusion as she began to experience/acknowledge her blossoming lusts for Will's dominance, control & even his humiliation. I also picked up on how Alyson realized even though Will 'humiliated & objectified' her, she found she was responding physically & mentally in an intensely positive way. And Will never disparaged or denigrated her desires or what they did together. Nor had he ever truly harmed her. And it does become very clear to the reader Will WAS giving Alyson what she needed even if she didn't know she did.
In addition to the intense erotic tensions between Will & Alyson, there is also corporate intrigue that demonstrates Alyson's intelligence as well as how much Will acknowledges & respects it. And cartel portions that provide additional nail-biting suspense & tension & helped make this story mesmerizing. And there wasn't a single portion I wanted to skip or gloss over. Not one.
So, if you love intense & sizzling erotica, some suspense & tension, all in a perfect balance of excellent writing; if you want to feel, be invested in the characters, be intrigued by the plot, FORGET you're reading a book: READ this one! I know I will be re-reading this one OFTEN.

NOTE: Please note the author's warning as this one does have intense D/s, TPE, spankings, humiliation, etc.

I'd give this 5 stars for smut and a 4 for overall romantic satisfaction.

Recommended for: Readers of smut edging to porn, BDSM, master/slave, humiliation via dirty talk, office boss and employee dynamics.

I'm not into flogging, clamps and all the toys, but I was hooked by this quiveringly smutty read with a dirty talking boss and his thief of an employee. I have to be honest. I had to read this bit by bit, because I would get WAY too flustered reading this :)

Alyson’s character growth is that of a slave learning to accept her slave kink. In that respect, Alyson’s character development in terms of independence isn’t needed, and her continually ceding control to Will is the point of her character growth.

This was hard for me to grapple with, as most romance heroines that I have a connection with develop and come into their independence, integrity - there is some sort of growth where they come into their full being.

And while, ok, Alyson’s character trajectory checks out from story logic, I can’t help but wish to see more from Alyson.

She has some thoughtful ruminations on what it means for herself as she comes to terms with her slave kink (what does it say about her if she enjoys it? Wait, does she enjoy it or has she just been conditioned to?), but she has no personality or life. Her big problem is solved by Will behind the scenes, and she doesn’t question it but jumps into his arms.

There is a semblance of a plot. A drug cartel thing towards the end. What I respect about this read is that although Will’s dirty talk may involve insults, he never comes across as contemptuous or hateful of Alyson. This can be hard to do when you have a character like Will. Lana Sky is the only author that I can think of right now where the hero mocks or insults the heroine to her face. Although with Lana, the hero isn't doing it to get off on a sex kink but to hurt because he's obsessed/confused. However, I bring the comparison up, because I remember feeling queasy about the mean talking hero in Lana Sky's Savage Fall Duet, particularly in Book 1, but here I didn't bat a lash. And Will is much more crude and constant, but the sexual intent behind the words was clear.

If the characters have chemistry, I usually buy in to their love pretty easily. The chemistry is smoking here but I found it difficult to believe in their love, because Alyson’s personality was non-existent. I get that slave girls are doormats but can we get a little more something out of her?? Alyson was too simpering. I have no idea who Alyson is. Alyson works, (used to) embezzle for a good cause, and has a son she loves.

Which isn’t to say that Will is a 3D character with a fascinating interior life. He’s a master, and he does some business deals that are a bit dry to read. But at least we got to see him do some dry business deals, go to the hospital, talk to his secondhand man. We get a better sense of him, he is a bit more fleshed out, even if it's a caricature.

This feels even more evident with the epilogue ending with Will discovering some minor trivia about the drug cartel thing. That was interesting but was it poignant to end the story with? No. I would have preferred an epilogue that showed Will and Alyson's deeper relationship. We know they are a good fit, sexually, but I'd like a better understanding of them outside of the bedroom.

Anyways, I think I'll read more by Trent Evans when I'm feeling in the mood for smutty.

Sadly this book just wasn't for me

In terms of editing and story flow there is nothing I can criticise, the author has writing talent that will appeal to many readers. I need to feel a connection for AND between the characters, as well as at least a modicum of emotion when I read a book. Quite simply that wasn't the case for me on this occasion.

Before I outline why I didn't enjoy this, I will say that a lot of reader friends have recommended his work and I will definitely be giving his other books a try. I have read a short story by him that I really enjoyed, so I'm really sad I didn't love this one.

So, I felt that the characters were very flat and under developed, Will is blackmailing Alyson in the most vile and despicable of ways and I couldn't even work up an active dislike of him - he just left me cold. There was also too much of them engaged in repetitive sexual acts and very little of them apart, with other characters or just being themselves. Thus I never got to 'know' either of them. The few supporting characters were even more lacking. I didn't find the sex/humiliation/kink scenes hot because their was no depth to any of the emotions involved. And it doesn't need to be romance, love and hearts, I can quite enjoy a hate f**k in a story.

Edited to add because curiosity killed the cat I skipped forward to the last few chapters of the book. Pleasingly I found that emotion I felt was missing, plus plenty of signs that Alyson remembered she had a child and how much she loved said infant. I just wish the first half of the book had included the same persuasive feelings, my review would have been very different then.

Then there were some plot holes, such as if his original intention was to have Alyson arrested why weren't the police in attendance when he called her to his office? How was she able to stay after work or go to his house at the weekend when she had a four year old son to care for (and no obvious support system/family to rely on)? Why did said son rarely enter her thoughts? Why wasn't she in utter agony since her DD bust had to remain bra-less (unless they'd sagged so much she could tuck them in her waistband?) Wasn't he also a thief if his "seed capital tranche" came from "DEA-seized Sinaloa dirty money"?

There was a lot of attention given to physical appearance but not enough to the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. I gave up at 60%, mainly because that's where I'd stopped reading and I just didn't have any motivation to pick it back up. I'd read nothing that convinced me there was anything other than lust and a possible variation of Stockholm Syndrome.

Another winner from Trent Evans well worth the wait. I couldn’t stop reading the book until the last page and then when it was finished I wanted to go back to page 1 and read it all over again, fabulous entertaining, hot, dark and erotic read. Alyson Hart is a forensic accountant who has embezzled several thousand dollars from her employer. Although Alyson is very clever thinking she has covered her tracks nothing escapes her CEO the formidable and dominant Will Ellsworth. We first meet Alyson when she is summoned to Will’s office to be confronted with her crime. Will gives Alyson an ultimatum, arrest and most likely prison or pay back. Alyson has very little choice, being a single parent of a 4 year old little boy she of course vows to Will to ‘do anything’ to pay the piper. It will take seven months for Alyson to repay Will. From this point Alyson is his, subjected to increasingly harsh punishments, objectification, subjugation and rough and deeply embarrassing sexual encounters. This was a really dark story and some of the cruelties Will visited upon Alyson made me wince, it felt like cruelty for cruelty’s sake. There is no doubt Will is a sadist but Alyson’s body is definitely with the programme even if her brain isn’t. Taking all of above into account, this was a seriously raunchy read and at time’s I felt myself squirming in my seat, I absolutely LOVED it. Great read Trent keep them coming.

Grabs you by the throat and never lets go! This book is everything I’ve come to expect from this author and more. Usually tension ebbs and flows through stories, but this one starts high and continues to tighten the noose on your imagination until you are afraid and unable to take a breath. Couple this with eroticism that overwhelms the senses in a way that leaves the reader squirming in equal parts dread and desire, and you have a book that will draw you back again and again as nothing else will suffice as you become a slave to the feeling this author drags from you. Fabulous read!

Trent Evans is back! And he brings us a story that is painfully delicious, one that has his signature power exchange and is SO HOT!

Alyson Hart has been caught stealing from her boss,Will Ellsworth and if she was sorry before, she will be very sorry now.
Even if she did have a very good reason to do it.....
She will be at his mercy for 7 months, forced to do exactly what he demands.
And he demands a LOT.
Moving her closer to his office,he starts with a dress-code that makes her cringe.
If only it stopped there...

But even though his demands are difficult to obey, she dóes obey.
Because if she doesn’t she’ll go to prison, and what will happen to her sweet son Noah?
To her confusion, she starts to enjoy his demands, and his punishments.
He takes pleasure in showing her the way her body reacts to his manipulations.
Dragging her deeper and deeper down the rabbithole.

Will was angry when he heard about the deceit, about the gall one of his employees had to steal from him.
But when he saw Alyson, her beauty struck a cord somewhere deep within him.
Forcing her to agree to his arrangement will give him the pleasure to take his anger out on her lush body.
Only,somewhere along the way,something changes....
And when he finds out why she had to steal, all bets are off.

I admired the quiet strenght of Alyson in dealing with every bad thing life throws at her, only wanting to keep her son happy and safe.
The way she slowly changed, exposing the passionate submissive she really was.
And the way she slowly changed Will from the man that merely enjoyed punishing her as rough and humiliating as possible to a man that started to feel something more...

I really enjoyed this dark beauty!

Alyson finds herself in big trouble and must decide to either go to jail, or submit to the every demand of her boss Will Ellsworth. She can't face jail and leaving her 4 year old son Noah. Decision made, she must face one month of torture, shame, humiliation, pain and debasement for every thousand dollars she embezzled from her boss. One big problem still hangs over her head, Will isn't the only problem that Alyson has to deal with. Will is a hard taskmaster and demands much from Alyson, who must submit, or the deal is off. The punishments and sex are hot and her embarrassment never ends as Will pushed all her boundaries and confuses Alyson each time she is confronted with a new kink to her punishment. I have read and loved almost all Trent Evans' books but I think this is his most thoughtful, hot story of them all. FIVE STARS and I highly recommend!

Holy crap. This is filthy, dirty and oh so hold onto your panties good. Being made to confront your deepest desires and bend to the will of someone stronger and darker than you? Ahhhh.....so good.

I read and reviewed a copy of this book.

Her Baaaad Naaaasty Boss🐺🍆⛲👋

ADULT XXX BDSM👋👋 Erotica and Romance💕

Stealing from her company was a Really bad idea. Accountant and single mother, Alyson Hart💃, was skimming but She got caught. The owner of the large company, Will Ellsworth🐺🍆⛲👋, is former Delta Force🔪🔫, and somewhat of a s*xual sadist..

Instead of having Alyson💃💋 arrested, he blackmails her! He makes her dress provocatively, and submit to mostly humiliating strippings, canings👋 and spankings👋👋, both in his office and in his home.
Will🐺🍆⛲👋 realizes Alyson💃💋 is a very good accountant, so he changes her job to be the one to ferret out customer cheating. Will🐺🍆⛲👋 finds out she is saving him far more than she ever stole.

He has his security man try to find out what she spent the embezzled 💰money on. It seems she spent it paying hospital bills for her four year old son👱. Her son Noah👱, is her 🌎world, her reason for being. How can Will🐺🍆⛲👋 compete with that?

ARC Provided by Author Trent Evans📚.
I also got this ebook with KU.

Mr. Hard Guy🐺🍆⛲👋 on the outside is really a Teddy Bear🐻 on the inside. His constant pushing to completely control and dominate Alyson💃💋 stems from his need for acceptance. He needs her more than she needs him...

Interesting.....
I've read most of male author📚 Trent Evans' books, and this is a great example of his dark romance novels that feature dominating men or aliens, that while they are thinking they are teaching their woman💃💋 about BDSM and D/s, are also learning something about themselves. Recommend for lovers 💕of XXX 📚 books.
C' mon! Take a walk on the Wild Side🐺🍆⛲👋...

★ Deal with a lust-driven Devil ★

—>>> Caught skimming off the company's accounts, Alyson Hart is called into the boss' office at for a reckoning and finds herself saddled with a new obligation: to be personally accountable to him...in every way. It is either that or go to jail and lose her son, whom she was trying so desperately to support with the extra income she had so sneakily netted.

What's a little blackmail to make up for her embezzling? The price, will be, however, her body, now that he has had a sampling of her sinful curves, and he will make her pay for her crime by helping himself to every delectable square inch she has.

“You… you can’t do this. You don’t own me. Who do you… who do you think you are?”

“On the contrary, my deeply misguided employee, you are seriously wrong about that. For all intents and purposes, until your debt to me is worked off, you belong to me.”

CEO Will Ellsworth is unapologetically intense, domineering and merciless in his demands, humiliation, degradation, objectification over the next seven months both at work and out of it, to extract what he deemed she owed him for even daring to steal from him. But once Will receives the gift of Alyson’s vulnerability, submission and trust, he realizes that he wants and needs more than to just command her as his personal plaything, he wants to command her heart. The journey of their romance along with the mafia elements made for another riveting, white-hot read!

There are so many reasons why I love Trent Evans' books, but if pressed to name just three reasons, I would say it's the inextricable combination of scorching hot and edgy kink scenes, characters you genuinely care for engaged in loving but uncompromisingly strict D/s relationships, and plots that pull me through the story. Few authors weave these elements so successfully, every single time, and At His Will is another perfect encapsulation of all those magical ingredients.

In At His Will, the intimacy between Alyson and Will, the glimpses of caring and love, are a perfect undercurrent to balance Will's cruel and unfair dominance that Alyson submits to. And I don't want to give too much away, but one highlight is surely Alyson being subjected to one of the most humiliating medical inspections I've ever read.

Sincerely hoping that the author offers us another interlude featuring these two characters and their relationship further down the line!

Trash

I cared nothing about either character. This woman was a mother that NEVER spent time with her son. She went to work all day and he was where?? She was required to stay late or go to this man’s house on the weekend and where was the son?
Just ... ugh...

I have to admit when I was reading this that there were times when I bounced between 2 stars and 4 stars. The erotica element of it could get dark, and at times it felt like it was pushing my limits as to how dark but the author manages to walk that line very carefully and never pushed me into DNFing because it was too dark. And every time that thought entered my mind Evans manged to drop just a little snippet of plot that kept me completely engaged. Finally, by the end of this extremely steamy read everything had started to come together masterfully to the point where I was extremely satisfied with the ending.

This is a challenging read and one that I would not recommend if you are into light touch BDSM, but if you are willing to have your limits tested, it is overall a very satisfying read.

At His Will by Trent Evans was an extremely kinky and erotic romance. Alyson is caught stealing money from her work, and her boss Will decides he won't have her arrested if she agrees to pay back her debt on his terms. This means she does everything he tells her to. Alyson agrees, as she has a son she has to protect and doesn't want to go to jail. Will makes her do humiliating things and has her dress in inappropriate ways at work. He is her Master and she submits to him. As Alyson and Will spend more and more time together, Alyson learns that she is naturally submissive and may actually like what Will does to her. Will begins to feel things for Alyson as well. They wrestle with the idea that their relationship can be something more and Alyson has a threat to her life. This was such a kinky book, which I loved. I loved seeing Will and Alyson fall in love with each other. I liked the writing and the characters. Alyson seemed to be able to just go to Will when he commanded her to (not during work hours) at the beginning, but no one was watching her son (until Marya is introduced) which was slightly problematic. I also had an issue with the epilogue, which was supposed to be shocking, but I have no idea what it actually meant and who Will was talking about. The pacing of the novel was good and I was liked seeing their relationship progress. It didn't feel too rushed and Alyson questioned if her feelings for Will were real, which was good because it could have been Stockholm Syndrome. It didn't feel like that and how the author showed that they had an actual connection and she enjoyed their relationship was well done. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I thought it was a great read.

This was an interesting story with harsh insight and little softener. The kink was flowing, tantalising and exciting and left enough room for What? and Don't Go! to Stop! But no matter when, everything was understandable, comprehensible and fortunately comes together harmoniously for a happy ending.

People are different and everyone has or finds their place and that's a good thing.

After a nasty divorce, Alyson needed more money than she could earn. Taking a huge chance, she carefully embezzled from her employer, Will. What happens when she is caught? Will she be sent to prison? What will her boss demand of her? His idea of reparation might be quite a bit different than what she had envisioned.

This story slowly, but surely takes Alyson from a small sexual humiliation into deeper and deeper eroticism. At first she finds herself compelled to cooperate, even though she is left feeling embarrassed and degraded. As time goes on and her discipline increases, Alyson finds her body reacting to the power exchange with her pain turning into submissive pleasure. Will is intentionally and salaciously leading her on a path of pleasure/pain into an erotic satisfaction gratifying both of them in different ways.

This story is full of HOT kinks and strong domination. I love the way Will is able to use his own dark urges to compel Alyson to slowly accept her own desires. This was an amazing book that I highly recommend.

I got 33% of the way through this book before I couldn’t take any more. It has real promise, which makes it all the more disappointing.

The book has several oversight errors, even only a third of the way in. She’s told never to wear panties except when she’s menstruating, then later he’s surprised she isn’t wearing panties. She’s told never to wear a bra, then she is wearing a bra. She is told to go to his house a couple times but then when he takes her there to have sex, they act like it’s the first time she’s been there. She told him how many men she’s been with (7) and later he’s talking about how she’s probably spread herself for dozens of men.

I don’t understand why the author can’t keep details like these straight when otherwise it seems very well written.

2 and half stars difficult to review

This is a dark romance with some dubious consent. Lots of degradation but with a slow build up (or escalation) in the "relationship". I don't think the H really redeemed himself in the end. And the ending was very abrupt; to clean and neat. Very little of the emotional side was addressed in the ending. That the h was a single mother was important for the book, and I would have liked to see more interaction between the H and Noah. In all a good read if light on true connections.

3.75 stars

I liked it, a lot. While this was close to a 4 star read for me, I'm rounding down simply because I've been giving out too many 4 stars lately. Sorry Trent ;)

I highly recommend this to fulfill the secretary/boss fantasy, especially if you like the kinks described in the blurb. The sex was smokin' hot, intense. Loved the airplane scene.

I always like Trent's FMC's POV - Trent's FMC's are always very capable & skilled - never TSTL. Will was so incredibly harsh at times, yet I could tell from the beginning he cared for Allyson, in his own way.

Hated the book

I don't mind power play but it needs to be an even playing field. The woman was degraded for 70 percent of this book and finally the main male character decided that she need pleasure to. This guy was a grade A bleep, bleep, bleep. Nope not my cup of tea. Horrible!

Same old trope of low level female employee who steals from CEO boss for family or protecting family and is forced into a sex slave role.

No Chemistry between our MCs. Sex scenes were HIGHLY DUBCON bordering on rape at times for those with a sensitive pallet. But even those scenes were written in more monologue style because of lack of heat and chemistry

Blackmail for embezzlement

I tire of these stories. It’s so unrealistic. How fast does one need to record one of these encounters and take it to the cops. That’s literally the solution to this. And you get away with embezzlement smh. Easy.
