I picked this book up because I have been working using Duolingo to learn Italian, and I did not feel that the explanations there were enough for me on how the grammar worked. As someone who has learned multiple foreign languages I like a little formal instruction in learning a language in addition to lots of practice (which is a plus with Duolingo). I did not use it systematically as the editors of the book suggested, but rather dipped into it when I hit a particular question with the Duolingo topics. I did find it helpful, and I think when I get around to going at it with more discipline it will be even better.
