Rate this book
This 78-card tarot deck and guidebook is a healing tool and guide to explore both the light and shadow sides of our nature.

By reimagining the traditional tarot archetypes and symbols in a contemporary, boho, and intuitive style, The Light Seer's Tarot expresses the light and shadow sides of our natures and explores the lessons that can be learned from both.

The expressive characters who live within the landscapes of the cards tell stories, ask questions, and provide guidance. This deck is an ideal companion as you seek to uncover the places in your life-and in yourself-that are most in need of illumination.

Got this a few weeks ago and it is my new favourite deck!
The artwork is nothing but amazing. I was a bit skeptical from what I had seen in pictures (photos don't do this deck justice) but then I actually had the box in front of me and I don't regret getting it. The artist went out of their way to make each card beautiful, peaceful and (unlike the Rider Waite) I don't feel intimated at all.
The back of the cards also have a pattern on the back that prevents you from figuring out whether it is reversed or not.
In the small booklet there is a picture of the card with its name next to it. Below it are the details of the card explained through a quick "light seer" point of view, a quick "Shadow Seer" point of view, the explanation of both, and an affirmation.

I really love this deck! It's nothing but positive, always accurate in telling things like it is, and has encouraged me to go back into tarots.

Thank you Chris-Anne! It's AMAZING! Can't wait for your next deck!

Favorite deck ❤️
The art is both beautiful and expressive and helps you recall what the cards mean. The art is not an exact copy of the RWS traditional deck, but it doesn’t stray too far either. The book that accompanies the deck is very positive in its tone, as is the extra advice she includes for each card. I love the vibe of these cards and keep going back to them even when I get new decks.

The art work is stunning but card cut not accurate. Half of the deck has little different size than the rest.

This lovely full color deck comes in a compact, portable (and permanent) storage box measuring 2 ¾ inches x 4 ¾ inches x 2 inches. Previously some of the original decks sold had poor quality paper stock and printing. That problem is now solved. The cards are finished with a matte lamination designed to keep the cards flexible and light for shuffling, while maintaining durability. The cards and 192-page guidebook are just slightly smaller than the box, so that they fit snugly.

The guidebook features detailed keywords, meanings, and a mantra for each card. Also each card has a “Light Seer” meaning and a “Shadow Seer” meaning, which might represent the extremes in interpretation of the card, or the upright versus the reversed interpretations of the card. The guidebook also includes a brief intro to tarot for beginners, five new tarot spreads, and an exercise for finding your light seer and shadow seer card. The deck is Rider-Waite-Smith in style but modernized. The cards are borderless, something where tarot readers have different opinions about the merits of border versus no border.

The cards themselves, though following the R-W-S tradition, have different details and lack some of the traditional symbolism. Again, this is a matter in which readers will differ as to whether that is a positive or negative.

For anyone open to a modern interpretation of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, this deck is for you.

This is becoming one of my favorite tarot decks to use to date. The booklet is informative and gives both an upright (light seer) and reverse (shadow sheer) understanding of the cards. The art is beautiful and inclusive and I enjoy this modern twist on the traditional tarot. Cannot recommend this deck enough.

The Light Seer's Tarot was designed and created to provide a light, gentle, up to date tarot, one that can embody the spirit of the cards without being forced to use the occasionally scary imagery of the traditional RWS. This deck uses RWS images as a starting point, the cards are close enough to be familiar, but puts an all new spin on them. It's a deck I hear many people talk about and use.

The first print run had some issues with cards being cut slightly off kilter, but I'm glad to say that the current run seems to be fine.

The cards are standard Tarot size and fit exactly into the box provided. The guidebook sits neatly on top, as shown above. The whole package is very compact and could easily travel with you with no risk to the cards.

The stunning back is fully reversible, meaning there's no hints about whether the card is upright or not. There's a very faint shimmer when you tilt the card and it catches the light.

Let me tell you, spreading this deck out and looking at it for the first time is amazing. The cards are borderless and the images just seem to draw you in.

Here's a look at some of the joyful colours and images used in this deck. The Sword Minors tend to be represented by birds or feathers; the Wands are wands, but incorporated into the picture rather than laid above it (You'll see there's eight rods in that fence, and the young lady is leaning on the ninth.) Pentacles are often Pentacles but can be anything round; they're represented by the moon in the 8 card. Cups are bowls, rather than the usual goblet. Look at the colours in that rainbow, and behind the moons in the Pentacles card. Look at the openness in the Ten of Swords and the blues behind the Nine of Wands.

The Court cards match up beautifully with their areas of expertise; the Page is young, the Knight a little older, the Queen mature and the King elderly. There's an ease about these figures; they embody their suits perfectly.

The book has a small image of each card, upright and reversed keywords, and a more indepth meaning. The spine is good and stiff, which is good in one way and bad in another ... sometimes it's hard to keep the book open to read! But it's really well put together, a gorgeous package. I love that like some decks and unlike others, it talks about the Court cards as situations and not just as people.

I also really love that the people in these cards are all colours, all ages, all races. It's beautifully done and adds wonderfully to the art and the feel of the deck.

I encourage you to check out the Light Seer's website where you can look at each card and read the short story piece written for each. I love these as they really help me understand the card. This is a wonderful deck and I can't see myself ever setting it aside.

Particularly good for anyone looking for multicultural decks that aren't 100% white people on all the cards. Some of the imagery strays from the Rider Waite traditions, but the explanations are rich. So I wouldn't call this a perfect learner deck. But I can def recommend it for beginners who are ok with slightly unconventional imagery and who plan to own more than one deck. That way they can compare and contrast with traditional imagery and standard interpretations. It would be especially great for professionals who have diverse clients that don't care if it's not the exact Rider Waite Smith imagery they see all the time in scary movies.

I'm glad to join the community of fans who celebrate this inspiring collection of rendered art and insight. As a novelist, Chris-Anne's lucid take on ancient archetypes rewards my imagination and leads me on evolving tangents that fuel my writing. This deck is an absolute gem.

Important note: Apparently, in previous years people received sub-standard card-stock and returned their purchases accordingly. Please be assured the card-stock issue had been fixed. This deck excels in the quality of the art AND the quality of the printed deck.

I adore this deck and the card interpretations - very uplifting and inspirational, which is a very welcome and refreshing change from the drab dry interpretations that I have in another deck and the artwork on the cards is stunning. I use this deck mostly for yearly and monthly spreads. It's a great deck for any occasion, I highly recommend.

This is a very contemporary Tarot card deck rather than the traditional style, and it is so refreshing because of this. Delightful in its imagery, I was very drawn to it. As with all Tarot, it's an esoteric activity that you have your own beliefs about. For me, this is a most intuitive meditation tool.

When I started getting excited about tarot, this deck spoke to me. It was everywhere I looked. It's such a fun deck. I love the images. My sis even ended up gifting me the same deck months later. I ended up gifting one to a client cause I didn't need two of the same deck.

Really great modern tarot deck. I have been able to connect intuitively to the images in this deck with ease.

A downside to the deck is that it lacks in race and body size diversity.

C'est mon tarot préféré. J'aime le fait qu'il inclut beaucoup de diversités (de corps, d'orientation sexuelle, etc.) Les couleurs sont vibrantes, les cartes se brassent bien.

This is for the Pocket edition of the cards. The cards are beautiful BUT the pocket size is way small. 2" x 3.5" makes it difficult to shuffle and the guidebook printing is so small, I need a magnifying glass to read it.

This is by far my favorite tarot deck (and I have over 25 different decks and themes). The artwork is breathtaking and I feel it helps cast the meaning and nature of the cards’ story (as Raider Wait told it). No exaggeration, my cards are well worn and loved with every shuffle and pull. The story is never lost. It is a staple in my purse and there is so much energy and pull to them. There are firm instructions to bury me with this deck.

These are some of the most beautiful cards that I have seen in some time. I love working with them and the book that comes with them is one of the best that I have seen. Normally you get a small paragraph for readings but this one wasn't like that. You received full in depth readings.

I just got my deck and it is perfect. I personally love the cardstock. I had an immediate connection to the images. They resonate with my interpretation of traditional tarot decks that do not spark my intuition the way this deck does. Could not be happier.
