A teenage boy is forced to lead a centuries-old band of shadowy warriors, as he struggles with his own meta abilities. The struggle to save Los Angeles (and all of Earth) sprawls across two series, the four-book Outlaw saga and the three-book Carmine series.
The number one best-selling Amazon super hero series. Winner of the National Indie Excellence Award for Science Fiction.
The Outlaw High school junior Chase Jackson is the infamous Outlaw, a celebrated midnight crimefighter caught in an ancient clash between order and corruption. The world only sees the mask, not the young man balancing his secret identity against love.
Rumors surface of a growing evil within Los Angeles, and powerful strangers are searching for the reclusive vigilante, whispering truths about his illness. Despite his desperate attempts for peace, the Outlaw is being drawn into war with the dangerous Infected.
Carmine Series The fight continues, as Chase Jackson is forced to battle those he loves.
Was really enjoying the first book. Right up until the end when the writer seemed to be doing something with the story I couldn't stomach. I started the second because maybe someone the circumstances were effecting things just then. Then the first few lines of the second book decided it. Screw this series.
Funny, smart, action packed, and a great love story too!
This book has great vocabulary words to strengthen your use of the English language. Kindle has a Dictionary built in, so there's no excuse to be frustrated or uneducated when there's a new word thrown in, and I'd bet there's over 20 for even the biggest smarty-pants reader!
The characters are all complex, both visually and internally. Even the usually glossed over cheerleader. The love story isn't easy, the kids don't hop into bed the first chance they get. There are real life obstacles and some fictional ones to help keep things interesting, and a little frustrating too.
The 'sidekicks' are vital, very knowledgeable in terminology especially helicopters (although I am no expert), and guns. It's easy to see that research, or previous knowledge went into several technical areas of the series.
The location was very well described, and visually rendered into words. Never been to LA, but I might be able to navigate the general area after reading this series, the author is so good.
All in all, there are zero reasons to avoid this series. If you like action, with some romance, with a little science, dystopia, mayhem, superheros, and side-kicks who aren't second rate, grab this series. It's worth your time, and then some!
I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt like this series earned it. For starters it wasn’t the kind of story I was looking for. This pandemic and protests had me needing an escape. I picked this series based on the reviews and had no clue what it was about. Not gonna lie when I realized I was reading about a virus and race riots in the here and now my shoulders dropped. But the characters were so well written I had to stick with them and I am glad I did! When is this series going to be turned into a tv series? No really who do we call to make that happen? I’d also like to add that there is one review that mentions the “religious” leanings and I almost passed but didn’t since it was only mentioned in one review that I saw a gave it a chance. I’m not religious and often overly religious things make me uncomfortable. This one didn’t... at all... so if your like me don’t worry about that.
Considering this book is the entire series, theres no way to sum up everything in this book but I'd be comfortable saying that this is a series that I truly couldn't put down, and dreaded finishing, because it was just that good. I'm extremely sad to think that this is the last we hear about these amazing characters but the story ended on a high note, and who knows, maybe someday the author will write more about them.
A world was created within this series that will be hard to forget, and other stories will be held up to the bar that it set, well done, and thank you.
This series ... this series. It has it all. Adventure. Romance. Nail biting action. So much humor that my wife kept asking me what I was laughing at. By the tenth page you'll be grabbed and it won't let you go until the very last word! I can only hope we'll see the "maybe" continuation of this story in the not to distant future
This series was very entertaining and I enjoyed it immensely. It has everything you want it a book. Action danger romance and thrills galore. Plot twists aplenty you will never see this one coming. I can not wait to read more from Janney.
Love the characters. Getting to know them and watching them grow. Great storyline from start to finish. Wondering if we are going to meet the Investors in the future. Looking forward to it. Awesome!
I fell in love with the story and it's characters from the beginning. Chase and Katie travel across the years but never without love and friendship. Five stars really isn't high enough!
The Outlaw was a fantastic saga with elements of military sci-fi, political intrigue and a little innocent romance. I recommend this series to teens to seasoned adults (old people). It's a fun read.
Such a tale of death and destruction and also love and laughter. Really good characters and sad at the loss of many. Great read for anyone looking for an adventurous read you will not be disappointed, just save time to eat and drink.
This Author has done a fabulous job in penning this series. Man and his desire to control, redefine and craft An existence for civilization will drive not only human but all life to total distribution.
