I like the characters and the story. With the current state of affairs the need to be more self sufficient becomes more apparent. I just hope people learn to take care of themselves.
I liked that this series didn't have all the gang related activities. I'm really tired of so much of this. I loved the pioneer ways and descriptions of it. It was one of the best apocalypse books I've read
I downloaded each title the day they became available! I loved following the ups and downs of the Chapman/Boone family as they negotiated life after the Geostorm. The author has a way of weaving scientific information and the effects on people and their lives that had me cheering for their success. Very good and enjoyable series.
I love this series! The entire Boone family are great characters that have a place in my heart. I was especially happy about Chapman’s Christmas gift in this final book. At least it is the last one currently. I have high hopes that Mr. Akart can be pressured into writing another installment of Geostorm.
If you are like me when you read a good book you feel what’s going on in the book. But with the Geo Series by Bobby Akart it more than feeling like you are there... you are part of the Boone Family, you feel their losses, their pain, their love for each other. You can’t wait to read the next sentence, the next page... but you don’t want to get to end because it will be over. I will definitely read again!! I love how Akart intertwines history and current information... you are not only reading a great series but you are being educated as well.
I enjoy Mr Akarts books so much. The science behind the fiction makes them page turners you can't put down. It's waiting on the next one that's hard. Can't wait on the next series!
So far the series has been good. A little slow at times compared to Akart's other book series but still a good one. I am one and a half book away from completing.
At the end of every journey is the end of the road and at the end of the road for the Boone family was their new home. The Boone family faced much adversity in their travels to reach a safe haven for themselves. The journey was never easy and the trials...death defying. Be it their upbringing, their fortitude, their genetic makeup or just their reliance on each other that got them through, they did make it! Where many men would have given up, the Boone’s gritted their teeth and pushed forward and kept on pushing with every ounce of their being. They knew if one of them gave up, it would be the end of them all, and that was not an option! This has been one wild ride of a series with the culmination Geostorm Pioneers and.I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending to this fantastic journey of hardship, death, destruction, loss, love, Mother Nature at her worst and finally peace. The Boone family came through each and every obstacle like the true pioneers they are.Their ancestor, Daniel Boone would have been so proud as would be the late Squire Boone, husband and father and the patriarch of the family. Thank you Bobby Akart for once again taking your readers on one helluva trip through a scenario that could one day affect the world. Giving hope that even though it may happen one day, there is a way to survive..if only you believe. To anyone who is looking for that next great read to add to your library, this is it. This series will have you binge reading all the way through until the last page and is turned and you have wiped your sweaty hands on your pants! It has now become my favorite series which I know without a doubt, you will love.
I usually don't review every individual book in a series like this, so this is my take on the whole series. Well written, very well researched and easy reading. Not sure how I would change it but this last book in the series does not seem up to par with the others. Akart has a great storytelling mind, I've read all but a couple of his books and enjoy the action and suspense of his novels. He goes very in depth in much of his info which is over my head but its interesting reading. As always......I wish you would cut out the profanity. It adds nothing to your stories but it distracts my reading.....especially the profanity from the women in the books. I have known some women that had potty mouths, but not as much as is portrayed in this series..........maybe I'm the only one that the profanity bothers but I doubt it. Your stories are GREAT, profanity not needed. Occasionally I come across a serious mistake when I'm reading......so it was for this book..........the author states that God gave Noah one week to build the Ark. Certainly there are many miracles in the Bible, but not this. It took over 50 years for Noah and his sons to build the Ark. I think the author wrongly read the verse where God told Noah that he had one week for him to get his family and the animals into the Ark before the flooding began. Then God Himself closed the huge door to the Ark. I do enjoy your books, so much imagination. Looking forward to more in the future.
This is the second series I've read by Bobby Akart, but it won't be the last.
The story of the Boone family, nieces, grand nephews, etc., of Daniel Boone just prior to and the during a pole shift from north and south to eight, split, magnetic poles is very well written. In addition to the adventures of the Boone family, the story follows the attempts of a President to assist as many Americans as possible. Unfortunately, it was estimated 70%of the nation had perished after three months and it was projected 90%would be dead by the end of the year.
This author writes the most detailed book of an apocalypse I have ever read, going back as far as the 1960's with the classic, "Alas, Babylon".
First I have to say that I really like the statement "every adventure requires a first step." I found this last book interested as to how people would survive with just what they had managed to bring. I also liked that the FEMA camp was bad not because of FEMA (which is a usual bad guy in the genre) but because of nefarious locals that took control. I also like the positive spirit of the ending but was a bit puzzled that at about 80% through the book, time was spent on a recap of what had gone on during the series. This gave this final book a little weaker feel but I would otherwise give this series a five star!
Just in the past few days, I have finished the GEOSTORM series. Fully absorbing, never boring, and just a big WOW! I finished book 4, 5, and 6 in just three days...they read so easily. They each were un-put-downable. Bobby Akart's novels are amazing! Combining scenarios, knowledge, and mixing in catastrophes with human instinct and the will to survive leads the whole series to conclusion. I don't like to write synopsis of a book/series as these are found quite easily elsewhere. My comments are my own personal feelings toward the same. Again, this series is a MUST READ if you are into great reads. ENJOY!
Bobby Akart is officially one of my favorite authors!
From the first chapter of book 1 to the end of 6th in series Bobby’s books had me hooked! It’s the 2nd series of his I’ve read(I’ll read them ALL!) and this series is informative and seems more plausible than the “global warming” you here about Man making on TV. His storyline and character development are great! My only complaint(if I MUST have one) is that it’s only 6 books long. I think he could continue series at least an additional few books. Looking forward to another Akart book set! Very good reading, and I read EVERYTHING!
After all of the trials and tribulations The Boone's had to endure, they finally found their happily ever after. I still can not imagine having to survive so many different climate changes. I have been a fan of Bobby Akart's books since the beginning. This book was entertaining to me because their destination to Kentucky has been enlightening as we are looking for property to buy there.....especially when he talked about some of the East Tennessee towns we have visited.
At the beginning I was a little concerned about all the detail employed, however as I read further it was clearly an integral part of this series. I would have to say this ranks up at the top of my reads in this genre. By the time I was well into book two I felt as if I was personally acquainted with each character almost if I’d known them a long time. Anxious to get to the next trial but wondering how they’d manage it. I’ve read other books by this author and all were well written and engaging.
I feared this would happen. For 5 books I was on the edge of my seat or grasping my chest to breathe; then the final book comes out and it's more or less flat. Yes, there was a little excitement when the wandering former FEMA couple found the Boone settlement, but it stopped there. All in all, this series was pretty good and in a way I guess it fit to calm matters down in the final book. So I say "write on Bobby Akart" I look forward to more great books! Thanks for the ride🤗
This concludes the life affirming story of the modern day Boone family. Most post-apocryphal books leave you with a feeling of doom and gloom but this one ends on a hopeful note. All despite the demise of nearly 90% of the earth population. Scientifically well thought out and well written, another Bobby Akart winner. I haven't yet read one of his books i haven't liked and I've read every one of them. Attaboy!
I am so very glad I found Bobby Akart's books. He tells it like it is, or could be. Yes, there are a lot of alarmists out there raising panic needlessly. Mr. Akart simply tells stories of what would happen IF, and creates a good, exciting tale of how people would need to react in order to survive. Hoarding toilet paper, paper towels and cases of water isn't going to cut it! We all will need to learn how to work together.
This character driven story brings this series to a satisfying conclusion. The Boones and the rest of the group while still fighting to survive the weather and all it's fury may finally have caught a break. They are lucky enough because of their background to actually be able to function and survive as pioneers. I highly recommend this series and other series by Akart as he writes compelling, chilling tales that could occur in real leaf and I pray they never do
Oh I enjoyed all of these books! For a change an author truly completed a series in a charming way and made me want to read his next series: The Virus Hunters. With Covid 19 running rampant now I’d thought I wouldn’t want to read about epidemics but this author puts a story together with optimism built in. I highly recommend the Geostorm series and most especially the conclusion!
Getting close to their goal, finding a new home base, rejecting it as "home" after more disasters, searching for and discovering a new place to recoup and rebuild, and finally, hopefully, settling down to live in the " new normal", book 6 of the series manages to be anything but boring as it brings the Geostorm series to an satisfying end. I read the entire series in a week, staying up late! Excellent job! Well worth reading.
The world will never be the same as the Earth's core scurried like a hamster caught in a broken wheel. The group may find a fair ending where they ended up, or they'll find another disaster awaiting around the corner.
Strong characters and believable scenarios captivate the curious as Mother Nature fights against the human infestation. Bring it on! They're ready. Great story, great series.
The Boone family survives amid a EMP that has devastating consequences for all. If it was one such disaster would be one thing but not knowing what will happen next with earthquakes, hurricane force winds and flooding everywhere. They know they have to leave Indiana and travel to the mountains to survive. What happens increases their faith and sense of family is stronger.
Oh my, where do I start?? This series be was a phenomenal read. I was sad there wasn't another book. Whether the book's topics were coincidental or not with the numerous problems now facing our planet made it a very real read. This book kept me up nights wondering if the planet is in fact experiencing a polar shift. I would love to see a movie made of this series, great potential. Thank you for giving me such a wonderful and timely series to get lost in.
I waited until the end to write a review. The ending was just what the series needed. I’d like to think that scattered among the populace there are good and decent people who are not so violent about getting g their own needs met. That is what this genre needs—and there are a few cropping up. These books display human violence, but the geophysical violence was the real antagonist. Well done again, Mr Akart!
Thank you Bobby for a great book. Geo storm The Pioneers could not have been released at a better time. It has been delightful company in the late night hours of this time of shelter in place. As usual you have written a book with believable characters and a plot full of useful information and knowledge. Hopefully we will not have to put it into use any time soon.
Welcome to Bobby’s Wild Ride! Like most rides you will hold your breath, laugh, be scared all the while having a great time. There is no getting off till the ride stops. Only on the good rides do you get off feeling satisfied, and this is a Great Ride! This ride has ended and it has been a most enjoyable one. Be sure not to miss this adventure!
Each book kept me interested enough to continue through the whole series but it's not something I would reread for sure. A lot of it was really prepper information. With some bouts of excitement thrown in every now and then. I would definitely read more books by this author.
Sometimes you start with one book and before you know it you finished a five book series. I did not know this author but men did he got his hooks in me. Think James A michener scenes mixed with Lee Child action. A great tale about a family trying to survive a catastrophy on a planetary scale. Looking forward to read more of this writer
