TW// mention of death (father), mentions of car accidents
If you have any interest in reading this book, don’t read the synopsis. It spoils the entirety of this book. I read the synopsis after I read the book and was surprised to find that all the major plot points, including the cliffhanger, were mentioned in the synopsis.
Synopsis problem aside, I really did not vibe with this book.
The first part of this book was painfully bad to read. I was hospitalized at three different hospitals in 2020 and temporarily lost the ability to perform every day functions by myself, so I understood the situation Linda was in. Because I understood her situation, I also understood how many glaring inaccuracies there were about how the healthcare system works. The emphasis on showering often was especially odd because showering is last priority when someone is incapable of taking care of themselves.
This book contains instalove, but the instalove is extremely unbelieveable. When Jason first saw Linda, she was cut up and injured to the point he wasn’t sure if she’d survive. After being assigned to be Linda’s at-home doctor, the story emphasizes Linda having a really unflattering shaved head due to the accident. Despite this we’re supposed to believe that Jason thought Linda was really pretty and felt an instant attraction to her? I don’t buy that.
I wish The Accident had worked for me, but unfortunately it was a massive miss.
Discovered the book in a "sweet and wholesome romance" promo. Didn't think it looked like a fit, but gave it a read out of curiosity and in the interest in keeping an open mind. It indeed does not belong in a "sweet and wholesome" promotion. But more concerning is the book's lack of editing.
If you're easily distracted by excessive editing mistakes, then spare yourself from this one.
My issue with it, and reason for the 1-star rating is this: cranking out content without any professionalism is literally what gives the entire indie industry its negative reputation. Please stop feeding this stereotype.
#I received an eBook copy in exchange of a honest review.
(My 1st from Evelyn white & I'm definitely going for more!)
A doctor-Patient relationship that you've never seen before!
#1st day with Jason❤ Linda, after 3 days in hospital due to a near fatal accident, just wants the comfort of home. But as of her broken bones, she'll need constant care (if she wants to go home..) Cue, Hot Blond Doc-Jason🔥
They're both stubborn as hell, & their banters are worth to read😍
As he succeeds bringing her walls down & they talk, we get details on the accident..Deer in the headlights, Literally.. & a previous accident that changed her life.
Their attraction being evident... Soon, the usual bath has turned seductive, with sex in the air😏
But, her mom interrupts at the best part😅 And? Cue the cliffhanger😁
Not well written, not a good story, choppy, boring, and kind of icky. Reads like someone’s internal fantasy without any editing and just rushing to the “good” parts, not really even a book.
Warning: This is just the first of three parts and it does end in a cliffhanger. This is a hot, dreamy, angsty read and I was so into it that I didn't realize that it was about to end. The heroine gets involved in an accident and cannot go home alone but in no way does she want to involve her mother. Enter a handsome doctor who agrees to be her live-in caretaker for awhile. What could possibly go wrong? I am definitely want to read all three books to find out if there is an HEA and see how they get there. I have a feeling it is going to be a bumpy ride.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This story was very interesting. I want to know more about Linda and why she is the way she is and what happens next.
After being in an accident and having to rely on someone, Linda is not sure how to feel about it all! She starts off as an ice queen but soon melts around her steamy doctor.
Jason knew from the moment he laid eyes on her that there was more than meets the eye. He was determined to win Linda over no matter the consequences.
Just when all was going well, the unthinkable happened!
To find out what, I suggest you pick up this book! Great read, on to the next one for me!
The author has given us characters that we can connect with. Linda is in a terrible accident and needs full time medical care when she get out of the hospital. Jason Gerald, the doctor assigned to care for her, takes her home and they have an instant attraction. After they act on the attraction, her mother arrives to spend a few days. The problem is that Linda's mother could cause major problems for Jason.
This is a well developed story of an accident victim and her doctor/caretaker. As a caretaker for my own wife, I particularly followed the way that Dr. Hottie was asking her about what she thought she needed and how he gave her time and privacy to do those things she thought she could (which was not a lot). I look forward to the next book in this sequence. I received my copy from a free offering in Ms. White's email, and was only encouraged to read and write an honest review.
Pushy mother alert!! Linda not only has to deal with injuries from her accident but also her pushy mother. This was a quick read about realizing when help is needed and allowing it. Jason pushed thru Linda’s stubbornness which allowed them to push other boundaries. Staying tuned for the next episode... I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This story has a lot of potential, and certainly sparks the imagination! It was a fun and fast novella with a cliffhanger ending... more like the first bit of a story rather than a book in its own right. It read like a rough draft, but the author has a lot of potential with some practice and editing.
Another one where a copy editor might have picked up the spelling/grammar blips.
Dubious story where Linda is in an accident, can't take care of herself at home, so DOCTOR Jason volunteers (?) to be her carer. Obvious plot move just to get them in bed together - and another example of unprotected sex!!
Again, something like 40 pages - to be continued in 2 further books. I don't think so.
Weird story. Linda was in a car accident. Dr. Jason stayed at her house to help her with her recovery, broken leg and arm and stitches in her head. They did the dirty on her first night home and her mom showed up at 3am that same night. Bad relationship with her mom. Just ended. Like more to come…??? TBC
Love the story. They were really getting to know each other before mom decided to arrive at 3am (now who does that). Mom sure is a trip....can't wait to find out what happens in the next book. (Can't come quick enough) I've read other books by Evelyn and never been disappointed
Very short on the romance, speedy on the action. Well written and descriptive enough. I prefer a little more than a few hours from woh to go on the sex side of things. Pet dislike: hole.
Wow! It may only be short but it was hot but also shows an emotional side of Linda when telling him about her Dad. I can't wait to see how she's going to keep seeing Jason whilst her mum is around. or the next book 😍
This was definitely an over the top and a bit ridiculous story. A doctor is not normally the one that would go home to live and provide in home care to someone who has been in an accident. That was just the beginning of the preposterous story. Not worth the time to read.
I discovered this book in the sweet free romance promotion .... big mistake !! Caretaking volunteering, unprotected sex (great move doctor!), Unrealistic characters' attitudes ... this is the first book of a series and ends with a cliffhanger
Good looking doctor takes care of patient at home because she's too stubborn to stay at the hospital. Their attraction for each other is too much for either one of them to ignore. Then her mother shows up. I need to find out what happens next!
Linda is a very stubborn fierce accident victim, forced to have a live-in doctor for a while. Jason is handsome and kind but doesn't let her push him around. Chemistry is evident and things escalate! This is a short read, ends with a cliff hanger.
I hate when authors do this, STOP IT. If you can't write the whole story in 1 book than I won't read your books. It is just not worth it. I do not call 5 chapters a book anyway.
Linda was in an awful accident and Jason was sent home to look after her. This book has drama, twists and turns, romance, and hot, steamy, sizzling, chemistry.
