Untouchable #3

Keys and Kisses

Rate this book
When the year started, I had one goal—make my AP classes count and keep my grades up. Both my focus and my grades started wobbling. Dating my best friends came with perks like hugs, kisses, and invitations to dances, but it also came with cons in the form of vindictive posts, hate mail, and vandalism of my car.
I asked if it could get any worse, and I guess I got my answer.
My college essays suck.
My mother and I are racing toward a collision.
My secret admirer might turn out to be a real friend.
My dance partner wants to walk away to preserve our friendship.
My best friend demanded I keep no more secrets.
My first offered to move in with me.
My second… he’s got my back.
They all do.
But what brought us together seems to be tearing us apart and I can’t jeopardize those friendships.
I won’t.
I thought losing them was the worst thing, but losing even one… it might be the change we can’t survive.
The real key here isn’t what do I want… it’s am I willing to fight for it?

P.S. I still need to get a damn dress.

I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.

I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.

After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.

Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.

Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.

One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.

I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!

Read other books by this author in the future: yes

Keys and Kisses is an okay read. In this book things are about Ian, who doubts that he should be more than a friend to Frankie even though he loves her. And because Frankies life hasn’t been s***** enough so far, more s*** goes down, like her mum abandoning her completely in times of need.
I will read the next book, hoping it will be conclusion to the series, but who knows?

I'm just going to say it. This book was a sad attempt to RH, it was more of a YA mess. First of all, none of theese characters except Frankie has their own voice. Unless you could tell who was talking it was confusing. You had two football players (Jake and Ian), a rich boy (Archie) and her boy next store best friend (Coop). Past that, nothing. I'm just summarizing the first three in one go because this review pertains to the series as a whole. Let's talk about the story line. We have super smart but clueless with relationships Frankie, has a crappy mom but 4 best friends. The first book starts off with them talking about college and what not, than it takes a 360. By book three we have, crazy ex girlfriends, new best friend (Rachel, will touch on this later), her mom lying about dating someone for a year, being stocked and harrassed. It's a laundry list of things that happen over a school year, and not even a year at that. We're not even at homecoming by book number 3.

The timeline drags....so much. You'd think with everything that is going on, the timeline would go along faster but it doesn't. To add to that, how does one senior in high school juggle, 5 AP classes, a TA job, a waitressing job (working 4 days a week), and she dates 4 men. It doesn't add up to me. Yes it's a book but it's very unrealistic and it's hard to grasp the story when it's this busy. You can't focus on anything because it's to much to follow.

Coop is a nice guy, but he is so bland that you forget about him. Jake is nice too, a little more aggressive than coop but still a nice bland football player. Ian was more complex than the other two, like the music aspect and the way he and Frankie clicked. Archer was probably my favorite only because he had a personality and a back story.

What do all 4 have in common? A friendship with Frankie and a missing backstory. It's so bland, and thus adding nothing to the book, because with no voice it feels like it's not a RH.

Speaking of this book being a #WhyChoose Reverse Harem. It was not, this was a book about one girl dating 4 guys and exploring in high school. They have zero relationship besides being friends beforehand. There is no love between them, the author never wrote any good dialogue stating she loved them or that they love her. The closest we got, was Archie giving her a bracelet. Past that all of theese characters lacked this wonderful thing called, emotion. If this book had an emotion it was be blah face. Nothing upset Frankie, she let them do whatever. It was just Blah.

Also, foreign exchange student Mathieu. What was the point of him? We heard about him some in the first book and now he is this ghost of a character. Why write a character to have him fall into the sidelines, even after Frankie wanted to be his friend.

Speaking of friends, the whole Rachel plot line just added more to the plate of crazy that made this book way more irritating than it needed to be.

I'm going to end this with a big DNF, because quite frankly, I don't care about the ending. There is a book 4, maybe I will come back and finish and read book 4 but probably not. This was just a mess of a book and not worth finishing the last 250 pages I have left in it.

Really Good

This book sees things getting more intense for Frankie, Coop, Archie, Jake and Ian.

Frankie is definitely still experiencing ups and downs, but she seems to be coming back out of her shell. She stands up for herself more and finally puts the not annoying of the exes in her place. That moment was beautiful.

Frankie's mom pulls another stunt and I hate her even more now. I didn't think it was possible, but there you go. Luckily, Archie is Mr. Fix It and takes care of some things Frankie has no clue about, but other important things he helps her with. He really was amazing.

Cool and Frankie had a wonderful time for Coop's birthday. It was sweet and it was hot.

Everyone as a group of friends were pretty amazing, too. Ian really messed up in this book, too. He lets his jealousy get the better of him. That and his dad diagnosing Frankie as a child abuse victim. It may be true, but it doesn't make him completely correct about whether or not the guys should be in a romantic relationship with her. Frankie knows her own mind and can make her own decisions. Now is a great guy, but that was annoying me a bit. Ian's antics created a bit of a rift and made Frankie uncomfortable on more than one occasion. We also learned why the exes were so angry with the guys. What they did was wrong even if they were not intentionally hurting those girls and no one was supposed to know. At least there shouldn't be anymore of their sins to uncover.

On a positive note, Jake, Coop and Archie seem to be more into seeing Frankie getting down with more or one of the others than they expected to be. Some seriously hot moments happen because of it. I want to see those moments go further, though.

Homecoming finally happens and Frankie has a blast until something truly awful happens. Maria had given her a heads up and the two girls had a nice moment because of Maria's revelation, but unfortunately, Frankie still became a victim. She fought back hard and Ian stopped it before things got too far, but that's some serious new trauma for Frankie. Her guys are supporting her all the way, but I hope she actually decided to do therapy. She's been needing it awhile, but this just makes it worse.

Still, she's not a quitter that Frankie and with the two pieces of great academics she's gotten recently, I hope she'll be even stronger. Even when she can't be, she's got a great group at her back.

This is the third book in the Untouchable series by Heather Long and if you haven't read the first two then do not read this review. This book picks up right where book two left off. Frankie is in a relationship with her four best friends but Ian is being stupid. Homecoming is coming up, her mom is a worthless biscuit and highschool girls are mean.

Y'all, this series has quickly become one of my all time favorites. I haven't been this invested in characters since Ghost Bird. This is the kind of series that the characters stay with you long after you've finished reading them. When they hurt, you hurt. This book, man I hurt. There were some good and fun loving times. I laughed a lot. Coop is such a goof, I love his laid back personality. We also had some hard times. The dreaded summer is still causing problems as more secrets come out. There were sad times. While we do learn why, it's hard to watch Ian struggle through his pushing Frankie away. All of the emotions come up at some point in this book and you feel every one of them with Frankie and the guys.

While a lot of time doesn't pass in this book, a lot of stuff happens. There's more bad meatloaf. That woman is something else. There's more bad summer. If those boys only knew. Then there's stuff happening, both good and bad, that come out of nowhere. There is one part that could be triggering so if you have triggers, feel free to message me and see if this will be one for you.

I feel like we get to know the characters on another level. We all know that at that age, our parents are influential in how we live our lives. It's interesting to see the different family dynamics we have here and how they have shaped all of these kids. It shows again how close this group has always been.

At the end of this book, I'm a little broken. Our Frankie, she's a tough cookie and she will prevail but she's got a road ahead of her. I'm so glad she has those boys in her corner. She's going to need them. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens next.

Keys and Kisses (Untouchable Book 3) Kindle Edition
by Heather Long

Thanks to Heather Long for the complimentary eARC. I'm choosing to leave a fair and honest review.

We rejoin Frankie and her men in the week before Homecoming and Ian(Bubba) has pushed her away and we don't know why. She is also in search of a dress and is about to hear some distressing news about what her boys were up to last summer.

The story unfolds, but there isn't much tension for most of the book as we know why Bubba pulled away and the real reveal buried a little past the middle comes a bit too late. The layers of problems that our Herione.

The steam scenes while hot are very well done and realistic for seniors in high school. There is a certain fumbling sexiness in it. The boys still have that cocky confidence that comes with being a senior in high school – 18 but still young enough to live at home.

I do love Ms. Long's characters. The boys are sexy, smart and terribly flawed like people in real life instead of people in a book. Frankie is strong enough to be weak when she needs to. And the other girls live! There are shunned Queen Bees, feisty friends and wounded birds, and maybe a devious brat!

The story is told mostly from Frankie's first person view, giving us both more information and less information. Thankfully, we do have the boys first person POV every once in a while. Also, Ms. Long makes use of the convention of text conversations.

This is a great book with a timely message.

Trigger warning: some sexual violence

Frankie and the boys are back! It's almost Homecoming but Ian(Bubba) is struggling with the way he thinks the boys are putting pressure on Frankie. He doesn't mind sharing her with them but he just doesn't want her to think they are her only choice.

Frankie's trying to find a dress for the dance (which she's not sure she even still has a date for). There are more wild disclosures over the boys antics during the summer whilst she was in hiding and her world is about to come crashing down around her once more.

The sexier scenes are very age appropriate for high schoolers and very sweet too. Think cocky teenage boys arrogance and bumbling performance, LOL.

All the boys have a "talent" and relate to a facet of Frankie. But Frankie has other serious problems coming and I must admit I thought to myself "This girl cannot catch a break!" Cheryl and Rachel provide some much needed female perspectives and give her a wider circle of friends.

I love the text conversations sprinkled throughout! Very now and very teeenage!

I don't want to ruin the story but if you have issues with Sexual Assault you may want to skip a few pages.

So, Heather is my favorite author now. She is hands down one of the most talented and versatile authors. Frankies story is one of the best. I’m so happy to have finally made the plunge and join this fantastic world. Heather has written another phenomenal book with keys and kisses. The topics were very raw and real. If you have not experienced this first hand you probably know someone who has. It was addressed as beautifully as it could for such a devastating and life altering situation. I applaud her on the way she went about it.

Frankie and her boys are trying to get through their senior year. With Maddy being MIA, Coops 18th birthday, and homecoming there is a lot going on. Somehow, Frankie manages to keep her head up and focus on the prize; college. There are definitely obstacles in place that hinder Frankie and the boys’ growth but maybe it helps them see things a bit clearer and puts it into perspective. I absolutely love Frankie’s journey. It is so detailed and descriptive I can see it in my mind as if I’m doing it and there. This is quite possibly one of my top 3 all time favorite series. I can not wait recommend this enough. Everyone needs Frankie Curtis in their life (the boys don’t suck too much either ;) )

As I’ve said with previous parts of this story, you really need to read all of them, in order, to “get” these characters. Also, I can’t give away any spoilers or plot points because you really need to read and understand for yourself. Once again, we have Coop, Jake, Ian, Archie and Frankie only this time (to me) they are finally working on understanding their new ‘dynamic’ and relationship(s). They were all best friends but now? They have a four-sided relationship that I believe would be hard for seasoned adults to handle, let alone 17- and 18-year-old’s. I will also add that sometimes your heart will hurt for them.

What I took away from Keys and Kisses: each of these young people are finally understanding what a relationship between the five of them really, and truly, means. In the last book, they thought things would be easy however, as life is never that simple… I thought Frankie was a bit too much and in her own head but hey! She’s young and feels she has a right to be greedy, for lack of a better word. The guys are also going thru some tough decisions and each one has their own story and set of “issues” to work thru in order to be with Frankie. Sometimes it is easy for them; other times? It almost broke me.

The adults in the story made me, once again, kinda crazy. Even when they were trying to be helpful, I think they could have made better choices. Then again, the story wouldn’t have been the same. Lots of angst, lots of choices and decisions for all of them as they go thru their senior year of high school. I’m looking forward to reading how their lives all work out...or not. Good read!

I just absolutely love these characters! Ian may be being a jerk but you still have to love him! And the rest of the boys...dreamy sigh. I love them all seriously! Coop being there with his calming personality, Jake and his protectiveness, Arch and his fixer ways, and Ian in his uncertainty just make these characters lovable. Frankie’s mom though is the absolute worst. And everything that happened before the ending?!? Holy cow!!! I just need more.

An addictive series

I've been seriously enjoying this series. It has a fantastic level of drama, but keeps enough realism that it doesn't feel like I'm reading a soap opera. This time we start off dealing with the results of Ian's confession and how that's affecting the group.

I really like Ian's arc through this book. A lot of the time in RH novels, even in the contemporary genres, the guys just seem fine with the whole sharing thing and they don't get much of a focus as individuals. In this series, each guy gets a great amount of personal attention, and this book in particular is Ian's struggle with what they've all gotten themselves into. Through this, there are more revelations about what happened the previous summer and all the friendships in the group are put to the test.

We also had some shocking moments with Frankie's mother, and other parents starting to get more involved in the plot. I love the variety of adult presence in the series. Especially Marsha. She's my favourite person ever. She's exactly the adult Frankie needs in her life. We also get more detail on Jake's anger issues, Archie's family situation, and Coop's hidden emotions. Seriously these guys are so wonderfully well-written.

Unlike the previous books, this book had a time-skip of a couple of weeks. This genuinely surprised me as I'd gotten used to the insane level of detail in each day of Frankie's life. But it was done in an organic way, showing the passage of time through one of the guys' texts chapters, so it felt right for the book.

It ends with a level of drama that had me in years for everyone involved which weirdly feels right for the series. With every good event, there's a bad. And though I wish this hadn't happened, I was captivated through reading it. I'm trying not to binge this series, but I'm quickly catching up on the latest release and soon I'll have to wait between books. Sad times. But they're so good.

I read this an an ARC and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

You need to have read the first two books of this series before you read this book. Frankie’s change and acceptance of her situation throughout this book is both amazing and sad. Frankie May have four friends and currently 3 boyfriends but she gains so much more. This is a fantastic continuation of this series so much so I didn’t put it down until i had finished by the end of the day. I read it one day that how amazing I feel it is. This book covers issues that may be triggering but it is done with the utmost respect for those that have experienced it and can relate to it.

The end of this book... I was left speechless. Why did Frankie have to go through that? Hasn't she suffered enough? After her abusive mother left, not she also has this trauma to deal with. And what about her four guys? Bubba (Ian) has messed up really bad, and now he has to work extra hard to get back into her grace. Coop, Archie and Jake though have been going strong with Frankie, but now the four of them have to deal with this trauma too.

I have to dive into the next book ASAP.

I just read this for the second time and realized I never wrote a review for it! Being caught up on the series, I do really love these characters, but I’ve also become really sensitive to other girl drama so reading this again made me sad at certain points lol.

The author has a really solid writing style that immerses you in the story. It doesn’t cover a big time span but a lot does happen.

I hadn’t remembered certain aspects of the beginning of their relationships so it was nice to read it again. Frankie has been through so much, and I understand why she is the way she is and it’s addressed in the book. That being said, I still wish she would ask the guys more questions or hold them more accountable for things they did to the other girls. The guys are lovable but god they were so dumb lol. I wish at least one of them hadn’t been a total man hoe pre-Frankie.

It’s still an enjoyable series and I know most people aren’t as sensitive as me!

Frankie is just trying to make it through her time in high school and get out the outside alive. She has her best friends turned boyfriends to protect her and a secret admirer turned best friend having her six, but that doesn't stop the sharks from circling. Frankie is on the radar of all the girls her guys dumped after their sketchy summer without her around. Those girls, especially Sharon and Patty, seem to be willing to slander Frankie anyway they can to try to garner favor with the guys and make her the laughing stock of the school.

However, it's not just the girls at school trying to make her life hell. Frankie's mother who has been in and out of the picture has decided she will be marrying her married boyfriend who happens to be one of the guy's fathers and they are moving in together. Frankie is pushed to move with them but refuses which causes a rift the size of the Grand Canyon between her and her abusive and neglectful mother. Now Frankie must find the strength to stand up to the girls at her school and her own mother if she ever hopes to be her own person. But they're not the only ones bent on Frankie's destruction and things can always get worse.

Frankie is still a crowd favorite for me. She is very docile and meek until she gets this fire in her that makes her snap back with a sharpness you wouldn't expect. She is pampered and coddled despite wanting to be independent and it has caused a myriad of issues with her fellas. I keep my fingers crossed through every book I read in this series hoping that Frankie can find a way through all the bullshit and be able to be happy with her guys.

Add to that the fact that Ian is an idiot and martyrs himself thinking he's doing right by Frankie. Ian is the most frustrating character of the bunch. He is this golden retriever-esk character but Rachel's assessment of him being "shit for brains" is incredibly accurate. He wants to throw himself on his sword and distance himself from Frankie because he doesn't want to face her inevitable choice later down the road and break up all the friendships. No, more like he's afraid if she makes that choice it won't be him so he's cutting and running. Nobody is fooled, Ian. You're a coward. However, I do hope that he finds a way to fix things with Frankie because she needs all the support.

This was a great third installment in the series and I find myself not growing tired of the characters or plot like I may with other books. Every book has a new obstacle or some increase in turmoil that makes every page packed with action. The sex scenes in this series so far as a whole are not the spiciest I have ever read but they're packed with emotion which helps.

Frankie's senior year is not going as expected. She never thought her four best friends would become her boyfriends. And for a brief moment, it was perfect but now it's starting to fall apart. One of her guys wants to walk away to make sure she's okay. As if she can be okay without him! Her mom is having an affair with her other boyfriend's dad and wants to play happy family together. Mr. Thorns has become her friend. And as college deadlines approach, her grades are slipping and her essays suck! She has to find a way to concentrate, to hold it all together or her dreams are going to slip away.

At times this series frustrates me, at times I want to shake Frankie or one of the guys (Okay just Ian), and at all times I want to kick her mother to the curb. However, I also find it extremely entertaining. I am invested in these teens. I like that Frankie finally has moments with other females, both her own age and a motherly figure. She is in serious need of females in her life. I liked that her mom was largely absent and wish that this could be resolved before more damage is done to Frankie. I really, really wish that Frankie would use her brains and agree to therapy. I hate when she says that she and her mom aren't the types to go to therapy. Why would she ever follow in her mom's footsteps? Talk it out, get some perspective, get some self-esteem. She's so damaged that she accepts cyberbullying and mean girl behavior as a matter of daily life. She's smarter than this. A girl who dreams of Harvard is going to risk it by allowing jealous girls to make her look bad? Why bother to put in all that hard work if you aren't going to fight for yourself? I love three of the four guys. I hate that my first favorite has taken the cowardly path using her well-being as his excuse. He is ignoring her feelings, her words by making decisions for her. Once he took away her choice, this wasn't about her but his own fear. This has damaged his character for me and I only hope he can be repaired. Be warned, there is a sexual assault, so if you have any personal experiences that may be triggered, you may want to skip a portion towards the end. It was not gratuitous and a very realistic part of young girls' lives but it could be upsetting. It was also a wake-up call in ways and I can't wait to see how it plays out in the next book.

4.5 stars...... If you happen to follow me on my IG @ brayshaw_love you know I only post my 5 star recommendations; however, this series is the exception to that rule!!! This review summarizes my thoughts and ratings on the first 4 books in this series since I binge read all 4 this weekend.

The first 2 books, I only rated a 3.5. Books 3 & 4 were each given a 4.5. The fact that I kept reading the series after the first two speaks volumes!!! The characters really grabbed my interest. I felt a connection with them in a way that made me want to keep reading, despite my issues with the first 2 books. She did such a great job creating this cast of characters and I am hooked on this series, even with the errors!!! I enjoyed the more lighthearted teen angst storyline, after reading mostly darker romances the past few months. I was so glad to see that the 3rd and 4th book in the series didn't have as many repetitive, unnecessary parts, which meant the character interactions and conversations took more of a central role and the story seemed to flow at a faster pace while reading.

So if you decide to give this highschool reverse harem a chance, I encourage you to push thru and not give up after book 1 or 2, especially if you can read using Kindle unlimited.

Now to breakdown why I couldn't rate them with 5 stars: The first two were very bogged down with mundane, repetitive day to day activities and I honestly ended up skimming most of those 2 books (I can only read about needing to feed the cats or change their litter boxes so many times😂). Those repetitive, unnecessary parts took away from the meaningful character conversations and interactions. Add to that the high number of mistakes in the books and I just couldn't give it a 5. Unfortunately the errors in each book is one thing that has been a big issue, especially since there were some instances I had no idea what it was actually supposed to say.

I saw not many reviewers have pointed out these errors, so maybe these things won't be an issue for you while reading, but my background as an editor just makes these things stick out more to me. I can usually just correct in my head and keep reading, but it really took away from the story this time, which is why the 3rd and 4th book had 1/2 star taken off.

Keys and Kisses is the third book in the RH series Untouchables by Heather Long.

This was a troubling book to read. Initially, I had assumed the hardest parts would relate to the divide between her and Ian, and the affect it would have on their friend group. And secondly her mother’s behavior and disregard for her. I had no previous knowledge to consider the disgusting abuser that Cheryl so wrongly cherished. To later take in account that something so abhorrent was happening during the summer, and then the later attempt on Frankie? The combined turmoil and strife of all these factors definitely made this book difficult to get through in one sitting, and very upsetting even for fictitious characters.

I read the afterword, and my heart goes out towards the author. I think it’s terribly sad that it takes the foreknowledge from the viewpoint of the survivor to truly write such a trauma while taking all angles into account. And mini rant: That it’s such a prominent concept and trauma people face that someone with certain knowledge has to tackle it’s telling? It’s a concept I think both deserves notice for its prominence and assuring there are less victims each year. But wishing it wasn’t necessary in the grand scheme of things to dedicate so much conversation when it shouldn’t really be a question or a fact. Ok, sorry. Done now.

I’m hoping for happier times in the next novel. And crossing my fingers that those girls don’t use this as another toehold to attack her. In defense for their own pain from being survivors themselves, maybe? But Maria seemed to be the nicest in regards to Frankie’s relationship with the guys and she was the only one we know for sure, besides sweet Cheryl that survived this. I truly wonder whether it was Mitch being a sadistic overachiever, or he had evil buddies in on these crimes.

Shit just got very very real. Damn, I actually like the writing in this book its like we are branching out from only subjects and school to other topics. The boys show their worth completely. ALSO WE GET THEIR POVS SO YESSSSSSS!
Coop is such a sweetheart. I think I adore him a lot. He's like that one person you'd always want to have in your corner, no matter what happens you will always have a feeling of being looked after.
Jake my boy, I love me some possessive guys. And I just love how he's so passionate about protecting Frankie also even though he has this rough side to me, he is so fucking gentle with her and it makes me swoon.
Archie totally has my heart. I love how his soft side comes out in little things that he does for Frankie, for the boys. He has so much heart and is sass is next level. Love how he deals with his bad family especially his dad but honestly i want him to be protected too even though he comes off as really strong person.
Ian, Bubba. This boy well I think I am not angry with him, I can definitely understand how hard it is to just get behind the idea of sharing someone you love even if it is with the other people you love. Its not unconventional, easy to accept and the struggle is really confusing. I genuinely hope that in the next book he kinda makes peace with what he's struggling because hey I wanna see these 5 as a unit.

Frankie my girl I just wanna get inside the book and hug her. It's honestly tough to be in her position with how her family situation, Drama at the school, stress of academics, and more importantly confusion of these feelings she's feeling with her best friends or now I can say boyfriends. And fuck the ending, its gonna be hard. But I am so glad she has the boys and I am excited to see how we go from here.

I got an earc of this book and decided to leave an honest review.

Daaaamn i have to say that the story keeps getting better and better.
I so enjoyed this book!
It's true that it will take you into an emotional spiral from laughter to tears to anger to laughter to frustration and back to the beginning.
The books continue from where we were left so you have to read the first 2 books.
I love the boys and Frankie!
The author once again managed to give us an amazing book and a well written story with well developed characters and plotlines.
I really cab't wait to see what will happen to the next book.

4.5 stars

This series has really surprised me in the best way. The writing, the characters, the plot and the brilliance that is the authentic dialogue and communication is very well executed.

The authenticity in how the characters interact, the situations that develop and even the adults in the story are incredibly believable and ultimately as realistic as can be imagined. I wholeheartedly appreciate how the author was able to construct the insecurities in the characters without the clear black and white lense that other books with similar storylines tend to use when one or more characters stray from the pack. It lends a sense of credibility because while we all fantasize about how reverse harem relationships can work and thrive, there’s also a gray area - “the unknown”, where moments of hesitation, difficulty and instability are warranted. When there are more than two people be in a relationship, there will undoubtedly be times where things aren’t going smoothly but what this books highlights (and why I love it so much) is that no matter the situation, COMMUNICATION IS KEY! :) And the author does this beautifully by playing out the situations in which things come to light that, although aren’t secrets, could have been better received if they were communicated by the instigator and not a second party. The greatest lessons come when the characters grow from past instances and their actions speak louder than their words, which is just...chef’s kiss.

The ending to this book is nothing new in the angsty reverse harem world but I greatly appreciate how the author dealt with the situation and didn’t gloss right over the trauma or the treatment/aftermath.

Favorite series

I have 4 very favorite series that I won't put in order because why choose but they are my very favorite in this is one of them I can't put into words how much I love this series how Next Level it is how I can get lost in this world and I could read about these characters literally doing anything and be happy to be reading it because if the characters are so well developed and I love them all and they have such great chemistry then you add the story into it and it's a whole nother ball game.

This book was extremely satisfying. I love how it showed what would happen if someone actually was struggling and with this type of relationship and didn't go into it as easily as everybody else especially when all the guys are friends I love to see every aspect of this type of relationship explored yet we still get the comfort of the other guys so it's not so worrisome and it's still extremely enjoyable this book in the series at some very powerful stuff in it and I think it was handled very well I like that it where it went and I'm really curious to see how it's handled later especially with these types of characters and the guys. Let me again say these characters have chemistry what makes this book so great is that all the characters are so great what a fantastic female main character in all fantastic eyes well I have three favorites but that's neither here nor there seriously I mean the writing in this I can't even put into words this book is just one of three others I've encountered in my life that I feel this passionate about. And I feel passionately about things I love and I feel it passionately about books that I like and I think our five star so this is what I would call a six-star series from book one it's this good I never thought 10 books wouldn't be enough but I know I like to never get tired of this world than these characters I could go on and on and rambling ramble but I won't all I will say is is the series is amazing and this book continued being amazing it's really something very special and very powerful in the series means a lot to me I really love this world and these characters I feel like no matter what your age is you can relate to things in this book The themes in this book are so well done throughout and it's just a very powerful well-written book integrate fantastic series

I <3 Rachel

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

It’s Rachel. She’s my favourite. Final decision.. for at least a few days until I read Whispers and Wishes 👀 And I know she’s barely been in it so far, but I wanna be as carefree and take no prisoners as she is.

“You should plug your ears. No seriously, because I’m about to not be nice.” - Rachel, Keys and Kisses

I was LIVING for the guys POV’s. I love knowing what’s going through everyone’s minds at different times. It just helps you get a proper feel for everyone. Not that it made me feel any better about Ian 😬

I really didn’t know where this book was going to go, it’s like watching a TV show, but reading instead. Each book is a continuation from the last and I love the flow of that. There is still so much we don’t know, especially from things that happened in Changes and Chocolates, but I guess with 12 books planned we can’t find it all out in the first few books. I’m fully invested though and I can’t wait to get caught up with what’s already out there (and then start begging for more).

I might be the only person who is this far behind on these books, but just on the off chance that someone is further behind, I don’t want to go into too much and accidentally spoil it. I’ll just say that I knew “he” was fishy, what a wanker. Ian needs to pull his head out of his bum and sort himself out. We need more Rachel. And where TF has the dodgy Mum (not to be confused with the Mum for homecoming, Mom I guess then) gone?

On to the next episode I go!

4 - frankies mom gets engaged to Eddie- archies dad. They are moving in together and want her to move in also. She tells them no and is going to stay in the apt. Eddie buys her a car also but she doesn’t accept that either.

Frankie finds out that over the summer the guys played a point ranking game on sexual activities. She’s disappointed but not too upset since it’s in the past and she’s not a part of it.

Ian - bubba decides to take a step back. He wants to be with her but He can’t deal with his jealousy. He also think the guys moved too fast in regards to having sex with her. His dad mentioned that her trauma with her mom makes her a victim to fall into bad situations with guys because she’s lonely / lacks affection etc. he regrets his decision towards the end and their relationship is strained since it’s hard to go back to being just friends.

She finds out Rachel is thorns. They become good friends and Rachel accepts she’s not into girls. Frankie also becomes somewhat friends with cheryl. She’s dating Mitch which he comes off as an asshole.

At the homecoming dance all the guys take her since the Ian situation is messy. She gets ruffied by Mitch and then he try’s to rape her. Ian found her in time. All the guys are there to help support her in this hard time. Her mom was out of the country when it all happened.

This series is great

There's a lot of great things about this book. The writing is spectacular and the characters are great, even if those boys sometimes make me want to virtually punch them. I loved the messages in it about how neglect and emotional/psychological abuse is still abuse and how victims growing up in that environment don't even really think they're being abused. I like that the boys' families and teachers are involved and have concern over her, when in reality many people would just brush it off as a not-my-problem kind of thing. Although getting CPS involved in this particular situation would've only been detrimental and painful, as an almost 18 year old, already self-sufficient girl with a real shot at the most prestigious universities in the country.
*possible Small spoiler involved :
The whole roofy situation was a sad but great warning for anyone. You don't have to be in a bar or club or drinking to have it happen. An innocuous bottle of water at a school event can be just as dangerous. Everyone needs to be mindful of what they consume. If you're out always crack open a fresh bottle or can yourself, pour your own drink or watch while the bartender does it. Never accept drinks from anyone you don't trust.
That said, can we please give some kudos to our bada** girl Frankie for fighting tooth and nail!!

This book broke my heart a little bit. Frankie has become one of those characters that I would want to protect from anything bad that could happen to her and in the end how she got really hurt hurt hurt me.

The love interests are so sweet and protective of her (except Ian in this book, who I really wanted to kick) that I could really enjoy their relationship, not only friendship but also as her boyfriends, the dynamic between them is great, full of understanding, affection and tenderness, the relationship in the harem is very well worked out and that's what attracted me the most.

On the other hand the bullying, the toxic and jealous ex-girlfriends really bothered me, especially Sharon, but there are others who seem not to want to hurt Frankie on purpose, just hurt the guys who hurt them and Frankie unfortunately ended up getting caught in the crossfire, but the author tried to give them a purpose for them to be like that, they are not the typical Mean Girls that are usually in some books that are only mean to the protagonist because they are and also tried to make them human, so that was also a point in their favor.

And I really hate Maddy. She's the worst mother on the planet, I hate that Frankie is insecure sometimes because of that woman. I just hope she can stay away from her forever.

This book starts right where we left off in the last one, so if you haven't read the others yet, stop now and go read them in order.

Shopping with Cheryl was definitely an experience for Frankie and Coop. I'm pretty sure he was wondering what the hell he had gotten himself into by the time they hit the changing rooms with 27 dresses...The whole first chapter was my favorite and had me giggling.

There's a lot going on on this book as the situation with Ian changes to the point where Frankie makes some decisions. Lots of fighting among the guys and the reasons become clear eventually.

I Love Rachel! She is becoming the best friend ever. Her snark brings lots of laughter and her wisdom some peace.

Sharon's at it again but Frankie isn't taking it anymore, I can't say more about this except it's awesome.

Coop's birthday has more than one surprise.

Homecoming is in this book and I absolutely loved the girls, Cheryl and even Marie have some things to share with Frankie.

The guys made me laugh, cry, laugh and cry some more.

But Frankie she has my heart, her mother doesn't deserve to have a daughter like her. She goes through many different things in this book and the emotions fly up and down like a roller-coaster.

I really can't wait for the next book in this series!

I can't get enough of this series!

This series is one I stumbled upon accidentally but I was immediately sucked in to frankies world. I'm already counting down the days for the next one. The author is brilliant, I love the storyline and the characters. Dear bubba annoyed me and have me so much angst. I just wanted to hang his head off a wall and say wake up! My heart broke towards the end. It's real life, it happens and people go through things like that alone all the time. I was so glad in a time she didn't have her mum or a lady friend that she had such a lovely nurse by her side who was so kind. My heart broke for her, I have a daughter and it's one of those situations that as a parent you hope your child never has to experience such a horrific thing. Thank God for the boys especially coop. He's my fave it was bubba but he's a numpty in this one so coop got moved up. Big shout out to the author for getting this book out earlier then planned and for writing such an amazing story. Also for making each character so different, a rich one with absent parents, one that's got a mom and a bratty sister but totally a unit who love each other, another who has both parents etc they are diverse and I love it.
