One story multiplied by 12

All the stories sound similar. Is it just the authors of this compilation, or is it the new 'in thing' to first confuse lust for something more meaningful? The stories are so repetetive, it felt like written by one person, using 12 different names. Something like one answer sheet, being copied by 11 other students to pass. Unoriginal and monotonous. This book encourages the policy -- f*ck first, know later. After you know, fall immediately. I understand this is plain erotica,
Iike mindless comedy or kneejerker horror; even then, it would be nice to read some meat.

Skip this overall

Some of the first stories are good! But the one about sex trafficking, incest and rape came out of nowhere and killed the rest of the book for me. Disturbing and not in a good way. Many of the stories were part 1 too, need to pay for part 2, the ending. No thank you!

Good read

I 'really enjoyed the characters of the stories I've read. They were great but out of the twelve only about three are full length. I was upset that not all of them were. Nothing worse than reading the first book and realizing you have to pay five dollars for the next two in the series. So I read the full ones and they were wonderful. At least I got to enjoy a few thanks to those authors.

I won't comment on all 12.

Just the frustrating ones or exceptionally good. 1st story: Overture. Ends on a cliffhanger! There are 2 more books in order to get the full story. She's 17 and on her 18th birthday, celebrates with her guardian who is 32. He's conflicted, abused as a child and a hard mercenary who is fighting his love for her. She's an old soul and a child prodigy. She plays the violin with such passion. She stops fighting her love for Liam. He is what she wants. There are three intimacy scenes and non are steamy passionate. Great story and would have liked to see a happy ever after. 2nd. Story Negotiator is Avery Flynn's story. I read it when first released separately. She was hand picked by his brother as a side project to help him work less, where his mother had a different agenda to get him to the alter. She is smart, quick witted where their journey is filled with fun adventure to a very happy ever after. The 3rd and 4th stories weren't my cup of tea. You'll need to decide for yourself. The 5th story, The Proposition, ends on a cliffhanger!! Good story, Aiden and Emma give off mixed vibes so hard to say I love them or not. The intimacy scenes are vanilla, and can't say no cheating, because Aiden was going to but started to change his mind when Emma walks in. So.....I won't be seeing what happens. At nearly 1/2 through the 12 stories, only one I was happy with. Stories 6, 7 & 8 also not a story I wish to read based on the prologue. Story 9, Honey, although a good story on a ranch, ENDS ON A CLIFFHANGER!! WTH ok...I simply can't attempt another story with the last three because of another possible cliffhanger! So disappointing 😔

This boxed set is so frustrating! Too many of the books are just Book 1 of a series. In addition, some of the books (like Begin With Me) are not well written. It's a way for authors to snag folks into buying and reading more of their work but there's nothing to let you know before you buy this set.

Review for Overture by Skye Warren

When I went into this book, reading only the blurb, I thought it was going to be very similar to another book I read (age gap, classical music, guardian/ward), but I was SO. WRONG. Skye Warren managed to bring together something that seem impossible and make it possible.

Our main couple have gone through quite a bit together. Liam North gains custody of Samantha Brookes after her father dies. Unbeknownst to her, her life isn't as simple as it seems and Liam is a lot more involved with the death of her father than she expects. Once she turns 18, as a young and talented violinist, she is about to embark on her first tour with a professional orchestra, but something is holding her back--her feelings for Liam. The two take their first steps on what will most definitely be a path full of judgement and danger.

I did not realize the series title when I got this book. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Liam and his brothers were in this team (seemingly of ex-military men and women) and they had their own /secret/ mission and goal. This addition changed the whole story line from where I thought the book was going to go, and took it to a whole other level that left me breathless. Samantha and Liam are believable, which is one of the most important things I look for in a good book. They went through internal and external turmoil about their feelings and what steps to take. Although, thinking back on it, the book is a slow burn, it didn't feel like a slow burn! I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. Skye Warren captivated me with their love story and I've never been happier that this book is only the first in a series.

Can't wait to see what's to come!

What a wonderful collection of steamy romance by 12 very talented authors! I can't wait to read them all!

~ Begin with Me (Chaotic Love #1) by Claudia Y. Burgoa
The title, Begin with Me, doesn't begin to reveal how raw, heartrending, and seductive this romance will be! I thought I knew what to expect from Ms Burgoa, but she left me stunned and speechless with this one! Abby has suffered a traumatic experience, and is now placed in a foster home. She is welcomed by a loving family, including Wes Ahern. They connect right from the start, because he experienced some of the same things that Abby did, before being adopted by The Aherns. As Abby grows to love and trust her new family, she and Wes grow more dependant on each other, keeping each other focused and grounded. But Abby keeps deep, dark, secrets she can't reveal, if she wants to keep herself and those she loves safe. Ms. Burgoa keeps us on the edge of our seats, trying to figure out the truth of what happened in Abby's past. She makes us yearn for these broken souls, to find healing, peace and love. This story is a rollercoaster of emotion with twists and turns that will keep you totally engaged and rooting for their HEA. I was totally stunned at the end of this book, and can't wait for the conclusion in the second book of this duet!

Overture by Skye Warren


This novel is a perfect execution of combining classical musicians with a suspenseful and thrilling forbidden romance!
I wish I didn’t have to wait until May to read Concerto!

I've never read a book by Skye that I did not enjoy and get lost in, but Overture is by far my favorite of hers to date! The suspense in her stories, the emotion the characters feel for each other, and the secrets they hold is all the power needed draw me in. This is a very compelling story told by both Sam and Liam, which I appreciate. I love reading into the minds of all characters so that I can take in all perspectives.

The age gap between Liam and Samantha holds a different aspect than most of her other work. All in all, I enjoyed this telling from a girl growing into her woman-hood and the feelings she develops for her guardian. It just so happens this guardian has noticed all the qualifying details of her personality and has fallen just as hard for her. Nothing sexier than catching the attention of an older man. in my mind, Samantha's character is very mature for her age and her need for affection is what she craves from this man. The beauty of this story that caught my attention is the passion these two have for Samantha's talent of playing classical violin. Music is my heart and soul, that's all I needed to hear to have me one-clicking on my purchase.

Not standalone...

Most of the books in this boxed set are not standalone. I’m not sure I’d call them cliffhangers but to be concluded you’d need to go searching for book two.

I read Overture by Skye Warren -
Samantha is a violinist, who is an orphan who is taken in by an older gentleman named Liam. Liam and his two brothers own a security company. Who also happens to have several secrets that pertain to Sam. All she knows is that Liam has always looked out for her. I am curious to see what happens with these two in the next book Concerto.

I read Sweet by Skye Warren - This was a cute little story.
