A lifelong resident of northern New Jersey, Dawn Altieri has been scribbling stories practically since birth. After reaching a milestone birthday (she won’t say which one), she figured it was about time she took a shot at writing professionally.
With an overactive imagination and a slightly twisted mind, she enjoys reading dark and dangerous tales almost as much as writing them. When she’s not curled up on the sofa with her laptop, her latest story, a box of chocolates and a cup of tea (or a glass of wine, depending on the time of day), she can be found volunteering in the world of animal rescue. To keep a roof over her head, she works in the printing industry as a graphic production artist. She shares her home with her husband and daughter, and a menagerie of rescued fur-babies.
Love the story with some suspense, a hottie, and some sweet lovin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There’s just something about a hot cop that makes me have to read a story. And when you add in some suspense and romance then I’m definitely in my happy place.
Jake is just a sweetheart and has always had a soft spot for Emma. I love the way that he was so protective and sweet with her. I just wish he would have broke the rules and got a little bit sexier early on in the story.
The suspense was not over the top for this type of book. There wasn’t a whole lot of drama even though she is being stalked. It almost seemed like there could’ve been a little bit more suspense added to this story.
I love the way the two interacted but Emma seemed a little bit slow to understand that Jake truly was all in with her. I wanted a little bit more heat in the story to really cement their connection earlier on.
The author did a great job with the story overall. Dangerous Desires is easy to read with a beautifully written unique story theme.
I think we could have used a little bit more on the suspense end. I downgraded a little bit on my reading because I knew who did it. I think if another twist or two was added it would’ve made it a little bit more difficult for me to have figured it out.
Excellent story with real characters you connect to and feel for. Sweet romance with that sexy hottie made this a pleasure to read.

This is a great forbidden romance with a mystery as a side dish. I really would have liked it if the mystery/suspense had been punched up more. As a forbidden romance, the H/h did a fair job of holding their passions in check, but where is the fun in that? Great characters, good plot and an enjoyable read.
Emma Sloane has let her friend enroll her on a dating app. Three years after losing her fiancé in a terrible hit and run accident, Emma really still has no real drive to start dating again. She has a secure job she doesn't really like and really wants to move on. When she is attacked outside her home, in one of the safest areas of New York City, her life is turned upside down by the event and the hot Detective who has tied her attack to a murder case.
Hottie Jake Quinn was the detective on Emma's fiancé's case and it is the only case he never solved. Seeing Emma again is a jolt as he has never forgotten that case, or her. Coincidence? Maybe not when the murdered women all look remarkably like Emma. For Jake, getting involved with Emma is career suicide, especially in this high profile case. But neither of them can control the passion that blazes out of control or the emotions that threaten to overwhelm them. For Jake the choice is simple, solve the case and claim Emma.
Emma Sloane is finally ready to get her life back on track after the death of her fiance three years ago. Finally, when she is ready to step out of her comfort zone and fulfill her dreams, Emma is randomly attacked outside of her apartment building. But, was it random after all? When women resembling Emma start turning up dead, Homicide Detective Jake Quinn is determined to keep Emma safe. He has never forgiven himself for not being able to solve the case of Emma’s murdered fiance. But, he is determined to find out who is stalking Emma before she becomes the next victim. With a building passion heating up between them, can Jake protect Emma before it is too late?
I just love a romantic suspense story and it is probably one of my favorite genres in romance. You get a steamy romance and an intense supercharged suspense that keeps me flipping the pages. Not every author can pull off a correct balance between the two, but Dawn Altieri weaves a fine line between the two. I often find some stories to be more romance than suspense or the other way around, but that is not the case here. The storyline kept me interested while I tried to figure out who was stalking Emma. Altieri throws a few suspects into the sociopath pool and I was left wondering which one it could be, although, I did have my suspicions. I did go back and forth trying to figure it all out and often wondered if I was wrong. Altieri really did such a great job at keeping me guessing and making me doubt who was behind it all.
The romance between Jake and Emma is really sweet. Jake feels like he failed Emma the first time around when he couldn’t close the case of her murdered fiance and since then he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about her. Lo and behold they meet again once more under dire circumstances. Both Emma and Jake feel this immediate chemistry, although they both try to fight it and when they finally do come together it is..well...quite explosive. I was really rooting for Emma and Jake and hoped they found their happily ever after.
Dangerous desires blends a suspenseful story with a supercharged romance that will be sure to burn your fingers. Yes, it is that hot! I am definitely looking forward to more from Dawn Altieri.
Emma's finally decided she's ready to move on from her fiancé's death three years ago when she's attacked. Enter Detective Jake Quinn, the detective who worked her fiancé's case and is on her new case. She didn't count on the attraction to flare, and when she is in such close proximity to him after he moves her in to protect her, she's finally starting to see how good her life can be. But Jake's hiding things from her, he's told her he can't give her what she needs, and there's still the matter of the killer stalking her. Will Emma and Jake be able to make a relationship work, or will the killer have his way and take her away from Jake?
If you like good old fashioned romantic suspense, this is the story for you. It's fast paced, it's steamy and the emotional connection between Jake and Emma is as deep and intense as the physical one.
It is interesting to read a story that is mixed suspense and romance. The story itself is enjoyable, the plot was nice, characters well built. I'm not going to write about the details because I tend to write spoilers, so I will stop here so there is no way of ruining the pleasure of the other readers The suspenseful part of the story kept me awake while reading, and the steamy romance part made me turn the pages faster. I was trying to find out who is the killer but I had to guess until the time when the author revealed it to us. I'm looking forward of reading another book written by Dawn Altieri

3.25 stars
This was an enjoyable story that hit a little more on the mark for me with the romance as opposed to the suspense part of the story.
I really enjoyed the two main characters and their romance. Having said that, I don't love that the author felt the need to have the female lead express that she was never really in love with her fiancee who died. I don't think we need to 'cheapen' a previous relationship in order to show that the current romance is 'the one'.
While overall enjoyable, I did find the outcome of the 'mystery' to be very predictable.
Three years ago, Emma Sloane lost her fiancé in a hit-and-run accident. Now, she's finally able to move on, or so her friend thinks and opens an online dating profile for her. Soon, Emma is attacked on her apartment building doorstep, but luckily a neighbor intervenes...An hour later, a girl who closely resembles her, is murdered nearby.
Homicide detective Jake Quinn, primary on the murder investigation, and the one to interview Emma, isn't a stranger to her. Her fiancé’s murder is the only case he couldn’t solve. Now, as the killer is obviously targeting Emma, settling for substitutes as he cannot get to her, Jake is determined to keep his cold case counter to one. The killer will not get Emma. Not on Jake's watch.
Nice. Very nice. It was a rather good combo of romance and suspense, though I rather missed the suspense elements once the romance picked up. Instead the suspense was only sprinkled throughout the second half of the story as (relationship) drama and angst took over. If it were shorter, more concentrated on the stronger points, instead of focusing on the heroine and her inability to make a stand for herself and the hero and his woes about not deserving her and not being able to give her the future she deserved, it would've gotten all the stars.
Still, the whole relationship drama didn't slow the pacing, thankfully, and I actually liked both Jake and Emma. They weren't cookie cutter romance novel characters, they both had flaws and inner scars, which made for a rather compelling reading.
I also appreciated the long winding procedural aspects of the story. It was a complicated and complex serial killer case with multiple dead ends and red herrings, with the case almost going cold at a few points. I'm glad the author didn't gloss over those details, the frustration of the authorities when the leads led nowhere and the investigation almost stalling. And though the killer was rather obvious (once the secondary option was ruled out), it was still intriguing to read just how they'd show their hand and how the whole thing would play out.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Dangerous Desires was a great read! I loved how I couldn't figure out who the killer was until it was revealed. I had my suspicions, but Ms. Altieri kept me guessing, especially with all the red herrings thrown out along the way.
I enjoyed Jake as a hero. He's the whole package. Handsome, humorous, and of course, drop dead gorgeous. I liked that his past had some things in it that he wasn't proud of; I don't enjoy perfect characters, so it was refreshing to read about his doubts.
Ditto with Emma. First off, I love her name. It's an old-fashioned name that I have always liked. I'm glad to see it on a character. While I prefer tougher female characters than how Emma was portrayed, I enjoyed her growth throughout the novel. She was a layered person who I would like getting to know in the real world.
The action was well-thought out, with lots of suspense. The sex scenes were HOT, and plentiful. And I really like the short chapter set-up; it made it easy to keep reading.
This is the second book of Ms. Altieri's that I have read, and I truly enjoyed it as much as her first book, Burn. She has become one of my must-read authors. I'm sure you'll agree once you read Dangerous Desires.
Love romantic suspense stories and this one was great! Emma Sloane is still trying to get her life back together after the death of her fiance 3 years prior. He was killed in a hit and run and the person responsible was never found. Emma is attacked outside her home and who shows up while she's at the station to report then Homicide Detective Jake Quinn. The very person who worked the unsolved case of her fiance. Jake felt an attraction to Emma while working on that case and it's all still there. Working on the new case - women similar to Emma being murdered - puts him right back into Emma's life. While more women are killed and the culprit makes contact with Emma, Jake will do everything in his power to protect her. Their growing attraction to each other only makes him want to find the murderer even more. I was constantly trying to figure out 'who' throughout the book. It had me hooked from the beginning. I loved how both Emma and Jake learned that it was ok to love again, to go for what you want despite the obstacles. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. I received an advance reader copy for an honest review.
Three years ago Emma Sloane's life was turned upside down when she lost her fiance, and it has taken every bit of those three years for her to move passed it. She is just now started to feel comfortable in her own skin again, and has even considered to start dating again. But there is someone in her life who doesn't want her to move on, they want to settle a score, and they have their sights set on her.
Good thing she has a strong, determined, caring and oh so handsome detective watching out for her... and perfectly equipped to keep her safe!
Within the pages of Dangerous Desires readers will find a suspenseful, steamy, and highly mesmerizing story line certain to keep them on the edge of their seat from start to finish. This first time read had me sitting up and taking notice within minutes, the words grabbed a hold of me and I couldn't let them go. There was a perfect balance or romance and suspense, and the writing style made it really easy for me to just fall right in and get lost in the pages. I adored the characters too, they had amazing chemistry, and you could tell the author put a lot of time and care into their development, making sure their backgrounds were accurate and believable. If you like steamy romance with a touch of thrilling suspense, then this is the perfect read for you!! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Dangerous Desires from Dawn A I receive this book from the author for an honest review. I saw an author I love sharing the sign up for an ARC copy of this book. I looked the blurb over and thought this looked like a great read. I knew the author who was sharing the sign up writes amazing stories, so I jumped. I was super excited Dawn shared a copy and jumped right in when I had the opportunity to read it. This story is all about Emma and the cray circumstances of her life the last 3 years. She was supposed to be married to Justin, but he was killed and the detective on the case was unable to solve his murder. She felt a bit embarrassed about noticing how hot the detective was given her fiancée has just been killed but…hey he is hawt. Detective Jake Quinn never stopped thinking about Emma. She was so sweet, innocent, and kind but also beautiful. He always felt terrible he couldn’t solve her fiancés murder, but the leads all dried up. Now 3 years later this beautiful woman shows up again in his path but this time someone is trying to kill HER!! The chemistry starts to brew immediately even though they both are trying to deny what is THERE for everyone else to see and comment on. Jake is trying to do everything he can to keep her safe even when the attacker is still trying to get her attention and killing others due to his rage at not having HER!! The story of who done it was constantly keeping me on my toes. Every time you thought you knew who, boom you were wrong and then WHAMO we discover who it was, and I was shook!! I mean WHAT!!! I enjoyed the story of the couple and watching their love story play out. I wonder if Lauren and Kevin will get a story because they sure so seem like a good book in the making. This was the first book from this author according to her final acknowledgements and I would love to read another story when its releases. The book flow was great. There were a couple times it started to be more TELLING the story then SHOWING the story. These scenes would kind of drag but all in all I did enjoy the story.

Neither expects the sparks of attraction between them. But the killer escalates, clearly targeting Emma, and Jake's job is on the line. Can he solve this case before it's too late for both of them?
Favorite Quote(s)/Excerpt(s): "I'm telling you," Jake said as they rode the elevator to Emma's apartment, "if I'd known there'd be women grabbing my ass like that, I would have tried yoga years ago."
"Stare all you want. Then I won't feel bad when you catch me doing the same."
Thoughts: Dangerous Desires was a new and engaging book. I really enjoyed the characters and the story itself. Romantic suspense books can be a bit hit or miss for me, but this one held my attention more than usual. I like when the author manages to keep me on pins and needles and even better if they manage to totally surprise me on 'who did it'. It faltered a little in that area which is why I didn't give it 5 stars....I was easily able to guess the villain of the piece. Makes for an entertaining read though!
This was a good, solid romantic suspense novel. Emma and Jake are both enjoyable characters, as are many of the half dozen or so peripheral players. The mystery evolves at a reasonable pace, but doesn't manage to at all keep up with the relationship developing between these two. Even with repeated warnings from themselves and others, they pretty much just proceed full-speed ahead into things, both physical and emotional. It definitely seems to compromise the judgment of both on several key items, not least of which is the investigation itself. There are some false starts and misdirections, along with several twists and turns to the intrigue. The ultimate resolution is not what I expected; definitely an intriguing plot twist! However, while we do get an answer to the puzzle, we do not get a lot of details; and I would have really liked more explanation. The only other negative for me was that both main characters tended to be a bit too self-deprecating, at least within the confines of their own thoughts, to which the reader is often privy. They were starting to sound like broken records at some points. But overall this was a nice romance and a good mystery; one I would certainy recommend, especially for those interested in the genre.
I received a free eBook copy of this title from Indie Sage PR via NetGalley, and have willingly provided an honest review.
Killer Instincts #1, To me the book was okay, there was nothing really wrong with it but I had a hard time keeping my attention focused on the book. I liked the characters okay and the story was interesting enough, even if it was really predictable. I do enjoy the bodyguard trope and the whole forbidden romance that goes with it but this one missed the mark with me.
Three years ago Emma lost her fiance to a hit and run accident and they never caught the person, now Emma is trying to start over with her best friend nudging her to start dating again. Emma is assaulted outside her apartment luckily her neighbor intervened and scared the guy away. Later that night a woman was murdered who looked like Emma. Detective Jake Quinn was a rookie detective on Emma's fiancee's hit and run he's never stopped thinking about her. He's lead detective on this most recent murder and when Emma reports the attack Jake doesn't think it's a coincidence. Even before he had department approval he starts protecting her. But this killer is escalating he's sending messages to Emma and calling her and views Jake as a threat. Emma hasn't felt this way about anybody since her fiance, Jake has awaken a desire in her she forgot she had and now with the threat on her head they both have to fight the desire raging between them or it could risk Jake his career and the case.
Overall, the book had its moments. It's not one of my favorites but it wasn't horrible either it was a decent read and I would read more by this author mostly because I don't judge an author by a single book.
I do believe that romantic suspense is my favorite trope, as it always provides me with a great excuse to drop f-bombs loudly, and that's truly my happy place. Dangerous Desires is the story of Emma Sloane, who lost her fiance too early in life, and his murder was never solved. It's been 3 years, and she used every minute of those years to get past the pain, which isn't gone, just actually manageable now. Life starts to get complicated when she's attacked, which she believes is totally random until other women who look a lot like her, start showing up dead. This brings Detective Jake Quinn, the man who never was able to solve her fiance's murder, back into her life. Jake has never stopped feeling guilty about his failure, so this time, he will keep her safe. While this is going on, they figure out that they have some serious chemistry, but with the death of a loved on, you already know that there will be extra bumps in the road. Now, the twists were really good, but I feel like a couple more would have kept me from being able to figure out who dun it, as this time around, I totally figured it out. I truly loved this story, so a handful more twists would have definitely made it a 5 star rating. I hope Dawn Altieri writes more romantic suspense in the near future! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is my first read by Dawn Altieri and I am always so excited to read something by a new author to me. It’s like getting a fresh perspective. This book was awesome. There is just something about a Detective being the hero in a romance book. They get me every time. I love a good romantic thriller read. Its steamy, keeps my heart pumping and keeps the pages turning. Emma Sloane is sweet, shy and just trying her best to move on from the death of her fiancé. No matter that it’s been 3 years, she wants to get out there. Jake Quinn is sexy, protective and yet can’t get over a hit and run case involving Emma Sloane’s fiancé. Early on these two have a connection whether they want to admit it or not. There is a lot of back and forth, internally, they both knew they shouldn’t have feelings for each other, but they just can’t help it. This was such a good read. Honestly, I couldn’t put this book down. It was engaging, had a great pace and at some parts kept me on my toes. This was a fun read and I really enjoyed watching Emma and Jake’s love unfold. I can’t wait to read more by this author!
Solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐ read!
I received an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Emma fought the urge to laugh at her coworker and best friend Lauren who she met with after leaving the office of McMillion Investments. They followed their Monday night ritual: did a little shopping, a little man watching and stopped at the gourmet beverage booth where Lauren was currently harassing Emma over her non-existent love life. Lauren made the dating thing look easy. Lauren was outgoing and confident, she knew how to go after what she wanted. Emma hadn’t figured that out yet. Three years ago Emma had been engaged but her fiance had died in a hit and run accident. She was finally trying to get her life back on track. She was ready to go after her dreams. Than Emma was attacked outside her building. It was just a random attack wasn’t it? Than why were women turning up dead that resembled her. Detective Luke Quinn was determined to keep Emma safe. I really enjoyed this book. It was a romance as well as a suspense novel. I really enjoyed the plot and pace. I loved jake and Emma together and how they interacted. I wondered what sociopath was after Emma. Jake and Emma have hot chemistry even though they tried to fight it. I liked how sweet Jake was to Emma have hot chemistry. I love the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.
Talk about a hot cop! Detective Jake Quinn is everything you want in a hero – a dedicated homicide detective, albeit one with a reputation of being able to control his emotions. One emotion he has never been able to get ever is his immediate attraction to Emma – the fiancée of hit and run accident that he was not able to solve 3 years ago. A slew of murders bring Emma and Jake back together. Attacked the same night as a murder, the victim bearing an uncanny resemblance with a macabre message linking the murder to Emma brings all of Jake’s protective instincts to the fore as he struggles to remain impartial and professional when Emma is the target. This was a fantastic romantic suspense. Loved both the characters. Emma has a sweet innocence about her & is the perfect foil for the tough, rather world weary Jake who somehow is putty around her. I loved how protective Jake is of Emma & how he quickly realizes how important she is to him. There’s a bit of steam and quite a bit of suspense. Highly recommended. I'm definitely looking forward to whatever this author writes next.
This is the best suspenseful romance novel I’ve read in a long time. Jake and Emma are fully fleshed out. I can easily picture them in my head thanks to the writer’s detailed, but not too detailed writing style.
Everything has its place and time in this book. Nothing feels rushed or unfinished. The murder plot. The love story. The danger. The character development all get equal spotlight. The love story doesn’t take away from the murder mystery and vice versa. I was hooked on page 1. None of the characters in the book feel like space fillers. I really enjoyed this one and I will be reading more from Dawn Altieri.
I give this 5 out of 5 stars. Ms. Dawn has a new fan in me.
I really enjoyed this novel by Dawn Altieri. It was a great mix of suspense and romance. The writing was great. Their chemistry was great and their banter fun.
Emma Sloane lost her fiance three years in a hit and run accident. She' moving on with her life when she finds herself attacked in what she thinks is a random incident. Until other women who look just like her start turning up dead.
Jake Quinn is haunted by the one case he couldn't solve. When he is assigned to a high profile murder case the last person he excepted to see was Emma, the former fiance of his unsolved case.
They find themselves attracted to each other despite the circumstances that have brought them together. As the killer escalates his attacks Jake puts his job on the line as he does everything in his power to keep her close and safe.
I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley.
Three years after her fiance's death Emma decided to move forward until...
She was attacked at her apartment. Emma was surprised that one of the dectives that was helping her was also investigating her fiance's unsolved murder at one point.
Detective Jake Quinn couldn't believe that the woman who had haunted his dreams for the past three years was attacked. He felt as though he needed to protect her since he failed finding her fiance's murderer.
There was still that chemistry between Emma and Jake that neither knew the other felt. She was a victim. He was a detective up for a promotion. Nope. Can't go there.
Women that favored Emma were dropping like flies. It had to be someone close to her since there were intimate messages being left.
Dangerous Desires will have you on the edge of your seat guessing who the murderer is.
Emma Sloane is still trying to get her life back after the death of her fiancé three years ago. Justin was killed by a hit and run driver with no arrest made in his death. Emma is attacked outside her home and luckily her neighbor scares the attacker away. When women who look like Emma are murdered, the police believe that she was the original target. Homicide Detective Jake Quinn assisted with the investigation in to Justin’s death and is now in charge of Emma’s case. He has been attracted to Emma since they met and knows that he can’t compromise the investigation and his career by giving in to his feelings for her. The murderer seems to be someone close to Emma, but if so, why would he want her dead? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
I have not read many suspense romance books. It never sparked my interest but this book has changed all that. These characters were well written and the mystery held my attention like a fine Sherlock Holmes whodunit. There was a sweet romance wrapped up behind all this secrecy. Jake was the detective when Emma's husband was killed and he knew after meeting her that there was something drawing him to her. Unfortunately, it was the wrong moment. Time has passed and yet again Jake is drawn back to Emma when she is involved once more in drama. Emma feels the connection too but is it really love or just Jake doing his job? And who is the dark figure stalking Emma and what is his game plan? This was such a good second chance romance and I am glad to find not only an amazing author but a new genre of books to read.
I really liked this romantic suspense, and it kept me reading late into the night. Emma has escaped an attack and is re-introduced to Jake, a detective who had worked her fiancé’s murder several years earlier. This time it seems that there have been a number of murders, and Jake is afraid that Emma may be the killer’s next target. Jake is worried about crossing a line with Emma, but cant seem to stop himself from doing everything he can to protect her. Emma, meanwhile, is thankfully not one of those characters that is in danger but refuses to take precautions. She understands the peril and accepts help. I liked the two main characters, though I thought Jake gave in way too quickly to their attraction despite all his internal dialogue cautioning against it. I also pretty quickly figures out who the “bad guy” was, but it was still and entertaining read. Recommended.
Outstanding. Simply everything I love in a great romantic suspense. This book grabbed me from the first page and kept me turning pages until I finished. By the end I was actually standing near an outlet because my reader needed charged and I still wouldn't put it down. I have a new must read author. Holy smokes, A++ and 10 stars. So the action takes off immediately, I love that. The characters are introduced in such a natural way that there is no having to go back or confusion as to who is who. In fact by the time there is a hint of any crime, several suspects have been established. The plot is really well formulated, the pace of the story is absolutely perfect, and the romance is strong and believable. Just enough of the main characters back stories is provided. Pick this one up, you won't be disappointed!
Emma Sloane wanted to move on with her life after the death of her fiancé in a hit and run accident that was never solved after three years. Emma’s plan to move on was stopped when she was attacked in front of her apartment building and was the first attack on women that looked like Emma. Detective Jake Quinn had always kept the hit and run in his mind but when Emma reappeared in his life in a new possible serial murder case, he wanted to protect her at all cost.
Dangerous Desires is a romantic suspense with equal romance between Emma and Jake and some gritty suspense finding out who is the murderer.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wow! Talk about an intense ride! The story between Emma and Jake is crazy and tied together for several years. The questioning of who done it leads you to a handful of people throughout the story. But the shocking truth hits you hard. The journey to get there is a bumpy one filled with beginning to live again, find your true self and what you want, along with finding the one you want to have that life with. I loved how Jake was all for Emma start to finish. They were so magnetic and meshed perfectly. It was great how even though their coming together went against the job he had to do, he could not help himself. And Emma was just as bad - she needed him. What a great story!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.
Emma was attacked just outside her apartment. To her surprise, one of the detectives assigned to her case is Jake, who she met three years ago when her fiancé was the victim of a hit and run. The police never solved the case so Emma does not have much trust in Jake. Jake was also taken by surprise as he had never forgotten the previous case which he had not solved and he felt awful. But sparks start to fly between Emma and Jake and I just loved watching the chemistry between them get stronger. Emma is fiercely independent and finds it hard to accept the help Jake keeps offering. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Jake Quinn has always been haunted by the one case that he was unable to solve. When he reconnects with Emma Sloane, the victim's former fiancee, sparks fly galore. However, someone else has plans for Emma, and they don't include Jake getting close to Emma.
I liked the suspense, though I felt it could have been more, given the length of the book. However, I did enjoy the book. I felt it was a pretty good read that I could solidly recommend to romantic suspense fans.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book, which I received via NetGalley & Entangled Publishing.
Emma's finally decided she's ready to move on from her fiance's death three years ago when she's attacked outside of her apartment building randomly or it wasn't? Jake Quinn has always been haunted by the one case that he was unable to solve. When women resembling Emma start turning up dead, Homicide Detective Jake Quinn is determined to keep Emma safe. I really enjoyed this novel by Dawn Altieri, i haven't read her work before. Great story with mystery and romance. I also loved the cover of the book!! Big thank you to Negalley and Dawn Altieri!! Definitely recommended
