Fate offers no mercy. Especially not to those who betray her.

Lethal Guardian Aric's loyalty never falters. Not even when Fate exiled him and his brothers from the Heavens, separating Aric from his soulmate. He'll do anything to reunite with her. But when Willow suddenly appears in the mortal realm, Aric's greatest fear comes true—she's no longer the angel he left behind.

Since Aric abandoned her, the Heavens have become Willow's personal Hell. Centuries of bitterness and hurt is a toxic combination. It even affects her angelic powers. When a Fallen offers Willow a chance to escape, she accepts. But shunning her connection to the Heavens comes at a cost.

In a twisted battle of loyalty, trust and hope, what price will two soulmates pay for a second chance at love?

This is Aric's story and it runs the gamet of emotions. Willow is a complex character that I wavered back and forth about until about halfway through. There is a lot of tension in this one. The romance is steamy and sweet. We get more about Blaine and Fate. There is still much to happen ahead and I can't wait for the next book! It's so easy to fall for these characters and become invested in the world this author has created.

I received a copy of Unforgotten from Netgalley for an honest review. Unforgotten is the second book of The Fallen Guardians. I was not aware of that before requesting the book, but I was still able to follow the plot line of the book without reading the first one. The book itself is very well written. The author makes you feel for the characters. I love the fact that the story is about a couple that was already together before, and got to see their struggles. The book was full of suspense, humor, action, and of course falling in love again. If you are into paranormal romance with an interesting spin, this is the book for you!

Blaine spent his time trying to syphon the heavenly powers from angels since he fell from heaven. Once he had enough he could challenge Zath for the throne. Then he could get back to the angel he loved.

Aric, Raven and the other Guardians had been sent to save Blaine but Aric had left his soulmate in heaven and he planned to return to her at some point. Willow got tired of waiting and Blaine talked her into becoming a Fallen as well. Blaine said he would be at the gates of Hell to bring her back to the mortal realm before Zath could get to her but when she got there, Blaine never showed up and Zath got a hold of her. Zath found Willow and tortured her, taking her wings.

This is the second book in the Fallen Guardians series and maybe I should have read the first book before this one because I was lost. But I don't know if it was because I hadn't read the first book, there are so many characters and so many things have already happened that weren't thoroughly explained. So I did feel a little lost but I liked the story so I kept reading and hoped that things would become more clear, which they did a little.

Something was clearly wrong with Willow after she became a Fallen. When Aric and Blaine figure out what the problem is and how to fix it, this story picks up pace and became a lot more interesting.

This was an interesting read about angels, fate, guardians and the fallen. The romance was sweet and the storyline was an interesting one but the pacing was a little slow. It might have been better had I read the first book so I recommend reading this series in order.

I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for a review but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Unforgotten by Cassie Laelyn is the second book in ‘The Fallen Guardians’ series. This story focuses on the characters Aric and Willow. Aric is a Guardian who has been exiled from Heaven with his brothers by Fate. But he isn’t going to let that stop him when it comes to the woman he left behind, his soulmate who is now in human form.

Willow has had a long time to become bitter and hurt, all which affects her angelic powers. When a offer arises which means that she can leave the angelic plain she takes it but it will come at a cost bigger than she feared. Here we have a couple whose relationship is already cemented but changed due to so much time apart. One of the biggest issues that both Willow and Arik face is lack of communication which leads to misunderstandings on both their parts.

What I really enjoyed about this story is the relationship between the promise one has made to duty and the promise that one has made to those you love. This is kind of the theme throughout the story that comes across from both characters. It is an emotional, roller-coaster ride of a book and you feel for both characters and the situations they find themselves in.

This is a new author for me and it looks like this series is going to be in one of my go to lists when it comes to paranormal romance which is a little bit different. A really good read!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review 😊

Aric is a delightful mix of old pain and secrets, with a tough guy exterior he uses as armour. Willow has a depth of emotion that makes her truly relatable, and her suffering comes through on a visceral level to the reader. Great characters, amazing tension and an excellent next installment in the series as a whole. I particularly enjoyed getting a better glimpse of Blaine and how his mind works!

For those looking to sink their teeth into a paranormal, second-chance romance packed with tension, complex characters, high-stakes, gripping emotion and laugh-out-loud humour, then you need not look any further. The second book Cassie Laelyn’s The Fallen Guardians series, Unforgotten, is a triumph within the genre and a must read for any fans of the J. R. Ward’s Fallen Angels series.

Cassie’s narrative style, world building, character development and gripping plot create a story that is unputdownable. I was transfixed with these characters, forgoing sleep, dinner and deadlines so I could fit in the time to read about what happened next. Aric is the ultimate selfless hero, willing to sacrifice his own life for those he loves. While Willow is the ultimate broken soul, taking excessive risks to escape past pain and move forward with a life without the one she loves most.

I found Willow’s desperation, longing and heartbreak so beautifully described. I often wept along with her. Aric’s courage and complexity was equally gripping. I was cheering for their romance to ignite again, and when it happened… Well… there were happy tears too.

This a brilliant story of longing, survival, enduring love and redemption. I adored Unforsaken, the first book in the Fallen Guardians Series, and I’m so glad to say that my admiration for this series and the author continues to grow. I can’t wait to see what Cassie does next.

This was an addictive read, I loved Willow and Alaric, you really go on Willows journey with her , feeling her anger and despair at being abandoned and the writing is so good. You can’t help but need to know they’ll be ok, as i did because I read this in one sitting. Great chemistry, lovely connection and story. I hadn’t read the first book in this series but I felt you didn’t need to stood well as a lone book, no cliffhangers, just a lovely Heartwarming end.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

The Fallen Guardians series continues with Unforgotten, an action packed and compelling sequel. The Mystery surrounding Aric and his history that was hinted at in book 1 is unveiled.
When Aric was exiled from the heavens with his brothers he was separated from his soulmate. Without knowing the details of why he disappeared, Willow has spent centuries believing that he abandoned her. The toxic pool of bitterness, heartache, and pain has been affecting her angelic powers. When offered an opportunity to escape her internal hell by falling to the actual Hell the temptation to sever her connection to the heavens and Aric proves tempting.
Can Aric and the Guardians save her soul and restore her to the heavens? Can the soulmates find a way back to each-other and reinforce their bond?
Bad boy Blaine is back in this instalment. And his swagger is bigger and badder than ever. We’re not supposed to love the evil characters, but Cassie makes that impossible with the way Blaine is written. I kind of picture him like a blending of some posh British aristocrat and a bad boy biker, with a side of meddling bitter sibling. There is definitely a lot more to his story to discover. I feel like he has a hidden fiery pit of pain hiding behind that handsome smile. I am looking forward to seeing how his character progresses in future books and I hold on the hope that he can be redeemed and reunited with his brothers without all the hellfire and darkness.
I love the complexity of the backstory between Aric and Willow and the events leading up to his exile. The vivid nature of Arics “dreams” in the beginning give a sense of foreboding.. The Hell scenes are appropriately dramatic and hellish.
The sense of longing and anguish coming from Aric are heart-bruising and emotive. Poor guy.
The miscommunication between the two was an obstacle that created the perfect amount of tension in the story. I just wanted to sit them both down for a chat and get all the assumptions and false information cleared up.
The steamy scenes will definitely fog up your glasses! Aric comes across as a bit of a hot-head, quick to anger and fight but, when it comes to Willow, he is a big romantic squishy heart of a man that you can’t help but love a little. EJ and Raine are fantastic side characters. I don’t have much of an impression of River yet, but I'm sure he will become a more fleshed out character as the series continues. I still swoon a little when Gabe mists in. Can he get a book too please!
Another great addition for anyone who loves a bit of paranormal romance. Boys with wings are heavenly!

Even though Aric has been exiled from the Heavens and his soulmate, he'll do anything to be with Willow again. When she shows up on Earth, he realizes she's no longer the angel he once knew. Can Aric and Willow navigate their new existence and a second chance a love or will they be thrust into a life neither of them wants?

Unforgotten is my first book by Cassie Laelyn and even though it is book two in the series, the backstory provided filled in what I needed to know from book 1. For the most part, I enjoyed this book. The pacing is solid, the characters are fully fleshed out and the turmoil the hero/heroine face kept me turning the pages. The ending was a little disappointing. I will read more in the series because I want to see what happens next.

The Fallen Guardians series just gets better and better! Unforgotten is a wonderful love story and I had trouble putting it down. This book picks up approximately one year after book 1, Unforsaken, ended and centers around Aric and his soulmate Willow. While there is no mistaking that this is a PNR it also reads like a second-chance romance. This book had me on the edge of my seat wondering if they would reconnect and what would happen to them! They are a great couple and Aric's never ending love for Willow is incredibly sweet and heartwarming. The book is long but each chapter is short and a quick read which I liked. I'm still holding out hope that Blaine will get his own book but as of now it appears that EJ will be book 3 in the series.

Oh Willow and Aric, you just about broke me. *sigh*

I knew from the moment I finished Unforsaken that The Fallen Guardians was going to become a new favorite. If possible, I think I may have liked Unforgotten even more, and not just because of Willow and Aric.

Of course if you’ve read Unforsaken, (which you totally should before you pick up Unforgotten) you’re already met Aric. I only thought that he broke my heart in the first book. Having him know that Willow was in the mortal realm and he still couldn’t be near her was pure torture. There were things about their time apart that neither one of them knew. Willow thought that she was abandoned and Aric thought he was keeping her safe. It seemed like repairing the damage between them was impossible. And Blaine wasn’t helping any…

Speaking of Blaine, readers were treated to a lot more time with him and the more I got to know him the more curious I became. There’s a lot more to him and his “fall” than anyone knows. There’s also a lot more to him and what drives him than meets the eye. He’s one of those characters that kind of grows on you whether you want him to or not. Hmm…

I loved spending time with these characters and I can’t wait to see what happens next. 😉

I received Unforgotten in exchange for a fair and honest review.

What an epic story!! So many decisions Aric and Willow had to make all with Fate giving them forks in the road. Blaine the very temperamental bada** coerces Willow to fall. The strength between soulmates is the strongest magic. This story will constantly have your heart cracking just to stitch it back together! The Fallen Guardians series is a must read paranormal romance full of action and hot hot Angel romance.

This is the first of these books that I've read but the second book in the Fallen Guardians series. The book worked well as a standalone novel and while there was a bit of the background and world to understand, I didn't feel that I missed out at all by not having read the previous book. There is an explanation of all of the angel types and what they do at the end of the book, which was helpful. I think you could work out most of it from the story, it might have been better before the story began?
What I particularly liked about this story was that the hero and heroine were not a new couple, falling in love the moment that they met, but rather a couple that had been together for thousands of years, until they had been separated and living apart for the last three hundred years or so. Like in many romances, much of their difficulties came from a lack of communication. Although they both tried to do what they thought was best for the other, they acted without speaking to the other first and working together.
I found myself drawn into this story and couldn't put it down. It was easy to feel for Willow, who felt abandoned after having been left behind. Aric may have felt that he was doing what was for the best, but Willow has no way of knowing why he has done what he did.
The only thing that I wasn't entirely convinced by was some of the language. For saying that these are beings that have been around for thousands and thousands of years, they all talk with very modern phrases and speech patterns. That's not to say that they wouldn't pick up modern phrases and the like, but I'm not convinced that everything would be like that. It's a minor quibble in an otherwise very enjoyable read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

After reading Unforsaken, I really wanted to know what would happen to the other Fallen Guardians. So I was very happy to find Unforgotten on Netgalley. Because this was Aric's story. And just when I thought Fate could not be any more cruel than she was for Raven, I realize she was even more cruel to Aric. Because when Aric chose to go with Raven to retrieve Blaine from earth, he didn't realize Fate banned him for centuries on. So he didn't even get to say goodbye to his soulmate Willow.
Ever since Aric disappeared, Willow has been slowly withering away in The Heavens. Because of their bond, which now only works one way, Aric is slowly draining Willow of her angelic powers. So after centuries, she has turned bitter and resentful. When a Fallen offers to take her to Hell to break the bond with Aric, she agrees. But then, everything goes wrong and Willow ends up on earth. With Aric. But Willow is running out of time. Can she trust Aric enough to save her? Or will their bond dissolve?
Heartbreaking, full of suspense and laughter. A wonderful read. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series, because I can't wait to find out more about the Guardians and Fate. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I just love this author <3 The first book Unforsaken..hooked me in, but Unforgotten..locked me into this series. You’ll read in the 1st book about Aric and his longing for his Soulmate Willow. So when you read this book you’re sucked into the emotional rollercoaster of their Romance. I’m not an easy crier, but let me tell ya, I was grabbing for the tissues, a few times. What an AMAZING story and plot for this series. I can’t wait for the next book!!!!

What an amazing story! Unforgotten, the second instalment in Cassie Laelyn’s Fallen Guardian series is unique, beautifully written and sizzling! Willow and Aric’s individual journeys toward their HEA are gut-wrenching and impossible to put down. The stunning and rugged beauty of the Australian high country is beautifully woven into the tale and matches the story perfectly for unique character and edgy action. I love that this story follows immediately on from Unforsaken. It felt like I was visiting old friends and I highly recommend this book as either a standalone read, or even better after reading book 1.

I don’t usually tear up or hold my breath when reading books, but this one did. Cassie’s second book in this series is a wonderful read. It took me a few hours, I just devoured it. Aric and Willow’s story is well worth reading and entering the Guardians world again is well worth it. I cannot wait for the third book in this series.

When his brother, Raven, made a deal with Fate, loyal-to-a-fault Aric hadn’t given it a second thought to join him on his quest. But he should have. At first, he thought the task would be easy enough, and he’d return to the heavens before his love was any the wiser. But he’d been wrong. So very wrong. Now he’s caught in the mortal world and his true love, his Willow, was somewhere in the heavens where he couldn’t reach. She must know he still loves her though, even after all these centuries apart.

When Willow discovered Aric’s decision to leave her behind, a wedge of bitterness and betrayal lodged in her heart. Trapped in the Heavens, her loneliness and anger swell into a resentment that attracts one of the Fallen. He’ll set her free—for a price. The last thing she expects on the way down is to see Aric. Worse to come to the realisation his soul still calls to hers. But he abandoned her, didn’t he? And now he knows she’s made her choice, there’s nothing he can do about it. Nothing except carry out his sacred duty – to slay all Fallen – no exceptions.

Battling between one’s heart and one’s duty has never been more epic.

Ms Laelyn follows on from her brilliant debut with another marvellous story set to capture the reader’s heart. Unforgotten doesn’t tug at the heartstrings; it wrenches them. Aric and Willow’s romance is emotional, raw and filled with sensual heat. A must have.

Ms. Laelyn has done it again, I loved Unforgotten. From the very first page I was hooked. I could not put it down, she sucked me back into the guardians world and kept me guessing...like she always does.
The love between Willow and Aric was perfectly captured. It was a rollercoaster ride, but it was perfect in every way possible. This is a romance that will tear at your heart but also leave you smiling because Willow and Aric are THE ultimate couple–sorry Raven and Tayla.
Fate is still a bitch. Blaine is still the anti hero you hate to love and the rest of the guardians are still as kickass as ever.
I cannot wait for more within this series or from Cassie Laelyn.

Oh wow, this book had all the feels. Separated from his soulmate for centuries, Aric has never lost faith that one day they will be reunited in the Heavens. That faith is shaken when the unthinkable happens and Willow makes a decision that could destroy their future.
I really felt for Willow, spending hundreds of years in Heaven believing that Aric had abandoned her and can understand why her pain caused her to make a choice that would set them both on a collision course with Fate.
This felt like a far darker story than the first book in the series, one coloured with so much pain and hurt that it was hard to see the way to a happy ending. This story put the bond of soulmates to the ultimate test, throwing heartache, pain and confusion at Aric and Willow at every turn.
Through the pain of their reunion and the strength of the bond that connected them, Aric and Willow's story is one that will tug at the heartstrings and leave the reader breathless.
A fantastic paranormal romance that leaves me eager for the next book in the series.

Alric is in hell - not literally but for over three centuries he’s been kept away from his soulmate as he and his Guardian brothers try to fulfill an oath. His beloved has grown bitter, weary and lost her powers and is enticed by Blaine to Fall.

In a race against time Alric tries to woo Willow back. It’s heart wrenching watching these two soulmates suffer because of circumstances out of their control and misunderstandings and miscommunication.

Their pain leaps of the page. As does the shining light of their love. Each loves the other but must make tough choices as sacrifices are needed.

Blaine continues to be a bastard with charm and a rage for Fate. We don’t know why he Fell but it’s important enough for Fate to send the Guardians to bring him back. But saving him has not been and will not be easy.

Thoroughly enjoyed delving further into this world with soulmates who have been apart for too long. Their love does indeed goes to their souls and there’s an all encompassing sweetness to their love - as well as great sex.

Disclaimer: while I know the author personally, this doesn’t affect the star rating.

A binge-worthy successor to Unforasken

I loved Unforsaken, so it was a pretty big ask for Laelyn to top that, but she certainly delivered! Holy moly!

Aric and Willow are raw, and real, and my heart bled all over the place a dozen times reading this. Ultimately though, it was the fact that each of the characters spoke to me in a different voice, that even the side characters had a message to give, that was what made this book brilliant.

For those who haven’t read Unforsaken, I’d suggest you read that first. This book is much better if you have, as the the back-story of the brotherhood is explored more there.

So, if angel soulmates separated by Fate who need to fight both the forces of hell and their own hearts to find their happily-ever-after sounds appealing to you, pick this book up.

I guarantee you won’t regret it.

Just like with Raven, you left me happy and gooey inside. I loved this book and the fact that no matter how bad Willow thought she was by falling from Heaven, Aric never gave up on winning her back. Le Sigh if only the world were filled with more guys like him...

I think Fate has a plan for all of them, its the whole reason she let them fall in the first place. In order to deliver her ultimate gift to them, their soul mates, they had to be banished to Earth for it to happen.

Thank you Netgalley for the digital ARC. I had been waiting for the second book in the series. I had waited quite some time and therefore i had forgotten half of the characters. The Quick and Dirty: Guardian angel finds out his soulmate is planning to make the transition to Fallen angel. He attempts to save her.

Aric is a guardian angel who has been exiled from the heavens by Fate, the female deity in charge, until he completes his mission of saving his former brother Blaine, now a Fallen. It’s been three centuries and his soulmate Willow has mistakenly believed that he chose to leave over staying in the heavens with her. As her powers begin to fade in her grief and anger, she decides to align herself with Blaine and make the fall, with his promise that she’ll regain her powers.  Things don’t go as smoothly as she hopes. When Aric finds her in the mortal realm, mid-transition, he has to convince Willow of the truth and his love for her before she completes the fall and cuts their soul ties forever.

I went into this book enjoying the premise, but as the story moved along I unfortunately found myself falling out of love with Willow and Aric. There were moments I wanted to shake Willow because her priorities were skewed and she came across as irrational and whiny. With Aric, I found myself annoyed that for how close the brothers are supposed to be, I didn’t feel it. He lashed out and disregarded opinions like it was easy instead of turning to them. I also had trouble with the pacing at certain points. A lot of time was spent trying to convince Willow not to fall and not as much time on the action that would have moved the story along. Overall, I think like a house, this book has good bones, but it needs a little bit more to make it really shine.

Unforgotten is book 2 in The Fallen Guardians series and tells the story of Aric and Willow. After being exiled from Heaven by Fate, Aric is forced to live on earth for centuries without his soulmate Willow. Aric is able to hold onto his faith in one day reuniting with Willow, but overtime Willow starts growing more and more bitter and resentful. After a Fallen convinces Willow to fall to earth so she can start over without her soulmate connection to Aric, they finally cross paths and are reunited. However, Willow is not the same angel that Aric left behind.

At times, I was frustrated with Willow and I honestly didn’t really start to like her until about halfway through the book. There is a lot of pain and feelings of betrayal in this book that Aric and Willow have to work through together. Willow feels like Aric chose his duty to his fellow guardians over his love for her and feels like Aric abandoned her in Heaven. Even with all of the pain and hurt, this is still a sweet, second chance romance and you can’t help but root for Aric and Willow’s happily ever after. They both have to make some hard choices and decide what is the most important thing to them. This is such a unique world that Cassie Laelyn has built and I can’t wait to read EJ’s story next!!
