The main idea of this book is the festivals of Madagascar. The genre is nonfiction because real festivals are being discussed.

As always with this series, I would help the children to focus on the cultural differences of Madagascar. I would teach them pronounce words like Hira Gasy and Zoma which are festivals in Madagascar.

The author did a tremendous job in providing details about the festivals as well as an abundance of visual aids through photographs and illustrations. This series never fails and this is just another example of that in how much detail and care is given to description of the festivals of Madagascar.
