Max is sweet MC romance. The story is relatively short. 6 hours of audiobook. Miss Day packed it with the right combination of MC and romance.
The steamy scenes are not very graphic but enjoyed it anyway. The chemistry is insta but I can feel the connection of the characters. Max is certainly a sassy hero.

Max comes back to his hometown as he has unfinished business to attend to. He wants to avenge the death of his father. He walks into Regina’s bar. She flirts a little but isn’t looking for a hookup or a man. She is very independent.
Max’s family friend Ray wants him to get back with his daughter Mary. Max explains he has a girlfriend and requires Regina’s help to play the part. She does it perfectly.
Are these two acting it out or are they coming together and can Regina stop the revenge?
Loved this read as the author does an excellent job with the characters and plot. I like how Regina is so independent and knows what she wants. I like how Max and his dad left the gang. A great read all around.

This is the first book I have read by Jolie and I really enjoyed it. Regina owns and runs a small bar and inn. She inherited it from her parents when they died. She is a girl who knows how to take care of herself and knows what she wants. Then one-night Max walks into her bar and wants a room. She tells him no that he is too late. He is beyond late but after some discussion Regina caves. Regina is attracted to Max and he likes her too but he is here for a reason. Max wants revenge for the death of his father and that is all. He doesn’t have time for a girl in one like Regina. Regina knows that there is something different about Max but she can’t help herself. A one-night stand and a favor turn into so much more. But, Max still wants his revenge. Then there is Max’s sister and mother. They all want him to just be happy and let his need for revenge go. What if something happens to him while he is getting his revenge. I really liked this book and can’t wait to read more books by Jolie in the future. Max is a great character. He has two sides. His super tough need to protect those he loves side. And the side he shows to Regina and his sister. Regina made me laugh so much and at the same time I felt for her. She is alone and wants to have a special someone. She doesn’t want to take the chance of getting hurt though. While this is an MC book there isn’t a ton of focus on the MC.

This was a great book that was well written with a strong story line and great characters. Max appears at Regina's bar demanding a room for several days. He said their father's were friends and he's in town to get revenge for his father's death. After Max's friend wants him to get back with his daughter Mary, he convinces Regina to be his fake girlfriend. The chemistry between them is explosive. Lots of drama and suspense as Max works through his revenge. No spoiler here, just will say that it's a fun easy read that you will enjoy. I received an arc of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

I feel like I have read a different book than everyone else. This book has very little to do with an MC; like 5%. The MC is mintioned a few times, but no talk of brothers, rules, clubs, cuts or anything resembling an MC. The story is about a man looking for revenge for his father's death and the cute bar owner he starts a relationship with. I have had to skim at lease 50% of the story as it is boring. At 65% in, nothing has happened! So frustrated, I finished the book but will not read another by this author or in this series. This should not have been advertised as an MC book, it is not one. Bummer.

This probably isn’t what most people would expect from a MC romance since it’s not told from within the club. This is the story of one man’s revenge for everything that happened after being released from the club. I loved Regina’s strength and Max’s determination. They're such complex characters, it was easy to get caught up in their world and in their push-me/pull-you drama. The sparks between them arc off the page from the first moment we see them together. I couldn’t help but cheer for them to get their happily ever after.

This is a well written book with strong characters and an intriguing story line. The author brings tons of drama and danger as well as a steamy romance. She pulled me in with all the suspense as well as all the twists and turns along the way. The chemistry is hot and their passions sizzle as they work toward their HEA. I enjoyed and would recommend this book.

Max has returned home to get revenge for his father's murder. He is the only one that knows that right now though. When he shows up at Carlisle's at 3 in the morning, Regina turns him away. Needless to say, he is a bit stubborn and offers to pay double so she lets him. There is an attraction between the two of them but they don't act on it right away. When Max runs into an old friend of the family, he's invited to dinner and tells them that he has a girlfriends named Regina. He talks Regina into helping him with this and one thing leads to another and they end up in bed. The feelings they end up having for each other are very real but then Regina finds out he's looking for revenge and she doesn't like it. Can they make a relastionship work between the two of them? Will Max get his revenge or will he let it go? This book is a good read with a good storyline. The characters are well written and very complex. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

I love this bad tattoo guy and just loved his demeanour Tyler. He rolled into town after being away for so many years seeking revenge on the leader if the MC gang he used to belong too and who he believed was the one responsible for the death of his father. What he didn’t expect was find the woman of his dreams.
Regina had to be a strong woman to run a bar in her own after her parents died and she had no time for a man in her life or so she thought until Tyler walked into her bar and rented a room from her. He proceeded to be every where and the attraction they had for each other was so crazy they could not ignore it and gave in and that was just he start of them building a relationship.
When Tyler finally comes face to face with the person he believed killed his father, only to learn truth.
This story keeps you guessing and in the end I was surprised but was happy that Tyler was able to start to live his life without guilt and found a woman to stand by him. Love this couple!

Sexy Biker + Stubborn Bar Owner = Great Story
I enjoyed this book. Jolie Day’s storyline was engaging and interesting. I liked Max’s and Regina’s characters. Max is a great mix of sexy bad boy and loving protector. Regina is a stubborn head strong business woman hiding a need for companionship with the right person. Max isn’t put off by her bristly exterior. He doesn’t think he’s interested in the long term. He’s just in town to settle some personal business and some short-term fun. Well neither of them expected what would happen! Of course there’s some sexy fun times between Max and Regina. The book kept me engaged until the end. I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book for my honest review.

So Max (ex biker?) ends up renting a room above Regina's bar. Max is in town trying to find the person that caused his parents accident. He uses Regina as his fake fiancé while he meets for dinner with his ex-girlfriend and her parents (whom he's friends with). Issue is that he really loved his ex and says he still has feelings for her and unresolved things he might want to explore. Meh.... I don't like my MMC to have feelings for any other woman other than the FMC.
Max and Regina do have some hot sex, and I was so happy it happened early in the story. I might go back to this later, but for now I didn't like the ex drama and it was moving too slow.

Max'speed parents were involved in a car accident that killed his dad and permanently damaged his mother and he wants to take care of who is responsible before they target any more of this loved ones.
While they both terry to fight it, their attractions it to strong for them to ignore and it becomes clear to others.
This was my first book by Jolie Day and look forward to the rest of the series as it comes out.

Loved this book. Jolie Day is a newer to me author.
I really loved how Regina told Max when they went to dinner at Ray and Grace's that there would be no touching and definitely no kissing but after she was told what happened to his parents they end up kissing in the bathroom. Then when they get back to his room they end up in bed together. They think it is just sex but they both are feeling things they shouldn't for it being just sex.
Is Max able to get revenge for his parents death like he wants? Where does that leave him and Regina if he does?

Wow, what a ride! Max is all kinds of sexy alpha biker and once he sets his sights on Regina it's game over! Not that she makes it easy for him, that's for sure, nor does he make it easy on himself, either. His focus is on revenge first, as he tries to convince himself a relationship won't work. Lots of action-packed scenes and plenty of smoking-hot action scenes make this an exciting and captivating love story. The characters were written with great deal of emotional depth. This is the best book yet by Jolie Day. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Regina is a no nonsense bar owner. Max is a bad ass biker and former member of the deadly Hells Seven motorcycle club. He talks his way into renting one of Regina's rooms over the bar and sparks start to fly. Max is back in town to get vengeance for his father's murder and the decline of his mother. Regina just wants a good time with no strings. Boy, did they both get more than they were looking for. I thought it was a really good story. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I received an Exclusive advanced copy of this book to read. The characters in this book are really well thought out. One turn of events turns the wheels to lead to an adventure of a lifetime for Max, with nothing but revenge on his mind. He strolls into a bar and finds Regina and well, I really do not want to give any spoilers, so I will just say this. Revenge is always best left in the past, because sometimes the past can catch up to you without you even knowing it. Hot, suspenseful, action packed story and I look forward to reading more.

Why is Max back in town? Can Regina protect her heart while saving the man she loves from himself? This was a great book... Regina and Max's story is a sweet tale about regrets and that baggage you just can't seem to forget... I recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18...

This was an amazing story. I loved Regina and her feisty personality. She is strong, independent, caring, intelligent, and so loving. Max is this super strong and protective alpha male. They have incredible chemistry with great banter together. This story has so many twists and turns throughout it. There is drama, suspense, mystery, and of course hot romance. The writing is fantastic and the story will not disappoint. It is most definitely worth reading. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.

Amazing Series!
I started with Tyler and then Boss: The Wolf but knew I had to backtrack to Max. I was not disappointed! This is a great series, and before I read Jolie Day's MC books, I never held an interest in the subject. Now, after reading this third book from her, I can't get enough of her writing. The stories are interesting and draw you in as if your a close and personal friend to the main protagonist, both male and female. And it never hurts that the love scenes are hot & steamy. Highly recommended!

Book was Ok. It took me a while to complete this book and I’m not entirely sure why. I read several other books in between this one. I think it’s because I never really formed a connection to the characters in this one.
The book wasn’t too long. We had the broody biker Max coming into town seeking revenge on a biker gang. And then we had Regina who was a sensible bar owner /nightly room rentals etc.
I don’t really feel like we had enough time to build a relationship between these two before they were in a fake relationship, and then forming a real one.
The narrator was ok too.

While the story was an interesting concept I found it really hard to connect with these characters
at times why reading it Max seemed to be still in love with his ex and finding it hard to walk away from her then all of a sudden he is in love with Regina. it didn't seem to flow and tie in properly for me. I'm all for insta love but this didn't feel like that
