Stood Up

Welp, she’s at it again. My mother is on the hunt for grandchildren, which means I’m being set up with the friend of a friend of the man who works at the corner store (or something like that). Mother is very excited about this one because he has something that none of the others had: He’s foreign. And according to her, foreign is better than domestic. Hey, it works for suits and shoes, why not sperm?

It’s not the first time Mother has been wrong, so I’m not at all shocked that he’s stood me up. Surprise! There are other people out there who hate being set up with a stranger in the hopes that it will lead to a fairy tale happily ever after.

In a twist of fate, though, there is someone else at our random meeting spot who also got stood up today. I know, what are the chances? Too bad he’s not foreign.

Although… why can’t he be? Just for the day, I mean. And maybe for the night. At least for Mother’s sake.

After all, he’s gorgeous and funny in a nerdy sort of way. Plus, he’s single and free for the afternoon. Why not make the most of being stood up?

Astrid and Sebastian have one thing in common. Their Mothers are matchmakers. They set Astrid and Sebastian up on too many blind dates. They reluctantly do the blind date, but so far it hasn't found either Astrid or Sebastian their soulmate. The latest blind date stood Astrid up. Now what?
Very well written with plenty of humor to see you through to the end. The characters are well defined and such fun to follow through the book. If you or someone you know have a matchmaking Mom, you need to read this. I highly recommend this one. Ms. Rayna is my newest auto-buy-author.
