Rate this book
A beautiful cloth book illustrated by Coretta Scott King Award winner Javaka Steptoe, created especially for African-American babies!

My sweet baby,
My honey bun,
I love you forever,
My precious one...

With delightful text and illustrations of African-American children, this book also features six padded petals--each with its own color and texture--for babies to touch and explore. And in the back of the book is a Mylar mirror so baby can explore his or her own sweet face!

Wanted to love this. Found it way too simple and the illustrations which should be the highlight to be poor quality and blurry (at least in the board book version).

This is a sweet rhyme of reassurance for a newborn infant showing the love for him by his mother and father and introducing the new human with comforting rhythm and bright beautiful visual delights.
