He slept with his f-buddy and even moved her in whilst heroine was living there so he wouldn’t give in to the temptation. He slept with ow the whole time whilst not only did heroine hear them she also saw them having sex. Pathetic heroine pines for him and still pursued him because they were bonded. So what if other woman was living in the same house as her and having sex with the H. Pathetic heroine knows that H is only pushing her away to spare her but she still wants him regardless of how evident it is that he is enjoying sex with the ow. Another fated mate book spoilt by blatant cheating and a weak pathetic heroine who has no pride or self respect!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
〰 It started out so well and I thought this would be a 5 star read because I absolutely adore the fated/mated trope. However, it went in a direction that I absolutely did not like to be honest. I usually don’t mind the OW/OM drama if the main couple is not officially together. The only time I mind it is when its the “mates” trope. That said, I hated the whole thing with Sam and Camden. The FMC had absolutely no spine and the MMC was so incredibly disgusting and hypocritical that I honestly did not want them to end up together. I also did not like the club scene tbh and the plot fell flat for me at the end. I don’t know if I’ll be reading the second book.
〰 If you have any recommendations for the “we’re mates/ destined” trope please let me know! It can be with angels, werewolves or any other supernatural creatures lol.
I am not a fantasy reader but believe me when I tell you Luna and Elijah stole my little contemporary romance heart and turned that shit an unknown color.
Luna isn't by any means whole while living in NYC as a barista trying to get through each day. Rejected her whole life she doesn't find a safe haven when her trouble past haunted every corner. She remains an angel above her demons.
Elijah is direct, cruel, handsome and not exactly of this world. He's fighting a secret battle no one sees, privy to information no one knows and rightfully denied his true right as a king. He's an angel posing a demon with a scowl plastered to his face.
These two are drawn to each other in so many ways. My heart hurt the entire book for them to just be together and live their happily ever after. I haven't felt this strongly about two characters being fate since Dean and Rosie in Ruckus. Every part of them in connected and severing their bond will only result in ripping their soul in two, forced to live half empty the rest of their lives.
This one gave me physical pain..and not even the good kind.
So cheating is a trigger for me. But if the lead characters have never gotten together, I don't really categorise that as cheating. But when you bring in words like "fated beings", "bonding" and "mates"..and you have characters with OW drama (not OM drama because let's face it, authors are more likely to have OW drama because apparently, only men should fuck around🤦🏾♀️) then yeah I'm gonna call that shit cheating.
So I wouldn't have cared if the OW drama happened if the heroine didn't really care/if her relationship with the hero hasn't been built. But OH MY GOD..the amount of times I've read how the heroine *suffers* through the hurt and jealousy caused by the hero, who I may add has a sexual relationship with his fuck buddy right under the heroine's nose, is ridiculous. Since the hero and heroine are bonded, she feels emotional and physical pain when she isn't with her bonded or in this case WHEN HER BONDED IS FUCKING AROUND.
And through all this, the heroine never fails to add how "hot" and "wet" and "throbbing" she is for the same douche-bag who keeps her at a distance. He has his reasons for not getting close to her but him going about this whole thing the wrong way, literally hurt me. I had this heavy ache in my chest whenever I read about how he kept rejecting the heroine and how he kept having sex with the OW and throwing it in the heroine's face.
And the douche-bag finally experiences the pain she went through when the heroine let's another guy finger her and he's actually torn about this! When the heroine questions how hypocritical he is because he's literally climaxed each time with OW and suddenly he's pissed because he could feel the entire interaction she had with OM. So whenever the hero had sex with OW, he was drunk. He does this because alcohol weakens his bond with the heroine, thereby not making her feel the full force of him dicking around. But since she wasn't drunk during her time with OM, the hero felt the entire thing and it hurts him tremendously. *Let's be real... I celebrated.* But also, what in the ever loving fuckeroo is this shit?! 1. How about the pain the heroine felt eventhough she couldn't feel the full extent of it?! The heroine actually hears the hero having sex with OW and even sees him getting a bj from OW (which he purposely does to piss heroine off..talk about toxic huh?!) 2. She didn't even have sex with the OM and her getting fingered actually hurt the hero?! Like give me a fucking break please. 3. All of this fucking pain could have been eliminated if the hero had kept the OW out of his house rather than moving her in. So major points for the asshole hero! 😑 4. The heroine actually APOLOGISES to the hero when he felt the pain after she climaxed with OM. Bitch please. This boy has literally had sex with another woman for weeks in the same house as you and never apologised for that! 5. I get the hero is a fallen angel but like he was in a "very" sexual relationship with OW soooo are we not going to address possible STDs since the hero and heroine decided to fuck without condoms? What? Angels can have STDs too. If they can act like dick-hole humans, I'm pretty sure that viruses and bacteria infect them as much as they infect humans.🙄 6. Them finally getting together DID NOTHING for me because I was already done with all the cheating and the hurting between the two.
Barring all that shit, the story had a pretty interesting concept. It gave me Will Smith's Hancock vibes with the fallen angels and fated beings similar to the fated immortals that were killed for being too strong as they paired together as couples in the movie. Unfortunately, the shitty relationship between the leads took up more of the story!
I'm ending this by saying I fucking hated the hero and the heroine. There's no love here. The constant need to fuck the shit out of each other does not equate to "sudden love". The heroine is literally controlled by her vagina and had no backbone. She kept wanting the hero to touch and kiss her irrespective of him being with OW. Tbh I was so emotionally drained by the cheating that I just wanted, a) the hero to keep rejecting her because the heroine's "I don't want him but I can't help wanting him" emotions kept giving me a headache. b) I wanted someone to kill the heroine. Yes, that's how much I hated being in her head. Since none of those scenarios happened, I'm happy to say that this is the end of the road for me with this author. Thank you Liza James for writing this book and fucking with my head. Thank you so fucking much.🤨
3.5 Stars This paranormal romance has Angel…Demons…soul-bonds, and fated mates. I thought the plot was interesting, and I enjoyed the book. Our H, Elijah is a broody jackass who fights against the bond for much of the first 2/3rd of the book (some of which he uses an OW as a distraction) so if you have zero tolerance for “sort of” cheating pricks than I would suggest skipping this one.
Elijah is a 547 yr-old, tattooed, fallen angel, bad boy lugging around a full set of emotional baggage due to a soul splitting breakup…like literally… He stumbles upon a dying Luna, and reluctantly soul-bonds with her to save her life. Luna is a feisty orphan who only has her sister Stella to lean on. She’s a fighter, and pushes back as Elijah repeatedly pushes her away. The whole soul-bond concept is similar to the one in Significance, where the mate is physically ill when away, but this is a much more grown-up paranormal romance with plenty of sexy-time.
Bottom line- Not perfect, but pretty good. I would have liked a little more world building, but got the gist. Although this doesn’t end in a cliffy, but there’s definitely loose ends, so I suspect this will turn into a series. Or at least have one more book with Stella and Nathaniel. If you’re like me, and LOVE drama, and a reformed asshole… give it a shot... It's free with KU.
Even though I ended up taking like over two weeks to read this book (I was busy with ARCs and not in the mood to read so I didn’t force it!) I freakin loved it! Luna and Elijah were just so push and pull and bursting with chemistry I freaking loved theM! And I can’t wait to dive into Stella and Nathanial’s story!
okay i DNF this book at 55%. i just can’t read anymore. the hero spent the entire first half of the book sleeping with another woman while the heroine was IN THE SAME HOUSE. she heard them multiple times and saw them at least once. THAT IS NOT OKAY. it’s basically cheating!!!! they have a blood bond that was initiated by the hero!! and he could feel/sense how the heroine feels, but yet he still slept with this other woman????? no thank you. i don’t care if it was all for “her own good,” still not okay. and the heroine is so pathetic. there were always instance of her “body betraying her” and ugghhhhh, i hated it. this book had so much potential, but it just wasn’t for me and i would not recommend it.
I have mixed feelings about this. I'm not sure where to stand with my rating and review of this one. I really loved the premise of the book and the fallen angel storyline but the whole fated bonds was not what i expected it to be. Now don't get me wrong i've read both types of story where the couple either accept the bond and get to know each other and fall in love throughout the story or they fight it for specific personal reasons that have nothing to do with the other one but eventually accept the bond after overcoming their own baggages. And I loved both equally when well written. But what i 𝐇𝐀𝐓𝐄 is 𝐎𝐖/𝐎𝐌 𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐀 and pretty much 70% of the book was about him rejecting the bond and 𝐏𝐔𝐑𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐘 hurting her by dangling fu#king dim-witted sam in front of her. ]|I{•---------⋘⋙---------------•⪼⦕࿅⦖⪻•---------------⋘⋙---------•}I|[ Like I do get that he wanted her to 𝑵𝑶𝑻 succumb to the bond between them, because of his own past trauma and the only fu#king way he thought to do it was to make her hate him. And i 𝐃𝐎 get that but honestly 𝑾𝑨𝑲𝑬 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑭𝑼#𝑲 𝑼𝑷 𝑬𝑳𝑰𝑱𝑨𝑯 this is not how you do it. There was literally a multitude of ways he could've done it and the fact that he chose to do it that way 𝐅#𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 pissed me off. Because I really did feel for him. He 𝑾𝑨𝑺 hurting as much as her but what started as him trying to protect himself and her ended up with him full on sadistically torturing her because the author kept it 𝑮𝑶𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑾𝑨𝒀 𝑻𝑶𝑶 𝑳𝑶𝑵𝑮. And it wasn't about keeping her at bay anymore but plain on hurting and rejecting her over and over again. I mean How many fu#king times do you need to stab someone in the fu#king heart by telling them they are not wanted, before you move on with the 𝐆𝐎𝐃𝐃𝐀𝐌𝐍 story to him accepting the 𝐅#𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 Bond and focus on the real enemy. Especially when the Heroine own past traumas is rooted with being rejected and used. ]|I{•---------⋘⋙---------------•⪼⦕࿅⦖⪻•---------------⋘⋙---------•}I|[ So yeah I'm 𝑷𝑰𝑺𝑺𝑬𝑫 and slightly 𝑨𝑵𝑵𝑶𝒀𝑬𝑫 because it could've been great if the author focused 𝑳𝑬𝑺𝑺 on the whole degradation of luna's heart and soul and 𝑴𝑶𝑹𝑬 on them healing and moving forward together. Also having more of his protectiveness towards her instead of him punishing her for being his fated. I really wish the last 30% of the book came sooner because that's what this story was supposed to be like. Them fighting 𝑻𝑶𝑮𝑬𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑹 against the world and 𝑵𝑶𝑻 themselves. And I certainly wouldn't minded having more world building/lore. Yeah more of all that would have been nice.
Fated is an emotional, trauma filled, paranormal romance that left me wanting to know more. The drama, the characters, the premise, the plot... so engaging!
The FMC and MMC:
- Luna - The girl who finds herself straddling two worlds. Her past is filled with pain and darkness. - Elijah - The fallen angel who tries anything to keep himself away from her. His past overlaps with hers. To keep her away, he hurts her... again and again.
Other characters: - Stella - Luna's sister - Nathaniel - Elijah's brother - Camden - able to trace bloodlines and proficiency with scientific advances - Danner - Amelia's mate - Amelia - Danner's mate, Elijah's ex mate
The plot:
- After being abducted again, Luna struggles to grasp why she feels drawn to the guy she tries so hard to hate. He hirts her to protect himself... to try to save her. Of course, fate had other plans.
The themes:
- Darkness and light - Pleasure and pain - Control and power - Fate and new beginnings
So much potential is wrapped within the pages of this book. I am looking forward to the next book.
I’m not even on this planet anymore I’m so blown away by this gem.
Speechless.
Absolutely speechless.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I believe this is her debut novel but don’t quote me on it, and I can unashamedly say she now has a new stalker.
I freaking loved everything about this!!! From the first word you are just slapped in the face with suspense, intrigue and mystery. Throw in some hints at heavy and dark topics and you are swallowed whole by this book and spat out after enduring the most crazy, action filled, heavy, tense and steamy ride.
This will have you gasping, stunned, feeling like your heart is going to leap out of your chest, swoon and make you believe in fated mates and everything in between. There wasn’t a moment where I didn’t experience a whirlwind of emotions from one chapter to the next.
The world this book is plunged into is so well crafted and written I’m not ashamed to say I googled a few things especially the foreign language that by the end it was hard to pull out of. So much detail, so unique and such an original world it was so refreshing to read something that you don’t see and you cannot compare to.
The characters....they each have something or have gone through something you can’t help but either relate to or empathise with. Their journey not only individually but together also is truly a beautiful journey that you can’t help but feel invested. Their pain, their darkness, their joy is so captivating it gives life to the book that you don’t experience very often.
I often don’t read books that are “angel and demon” related but this? I’d gladly pick this up again and again.
Truly amazing work Liza James. I look forward to more works of art.
Luna has been rejected her whole life and has experienced horrific event .Which she has yet to tell anyone. She is just going through the motions of life. She is a lot stronger then she gives her self credit for.
Elijah, fallen angel, handsome, cruel, and self-destructive. Has his own secrets. At times I wanted to hate him. But deep down, he is a softy.
They are both drawn to each other and fighting it. At times my heart hurt for them. Two people who are meant to be and try and fight it. The book has some dark component. I personally like my books more in the darker side. Fated was more heavy on the Angel side VS. Demon side. I do recommend Fated if you like Demon/ Angel books. Can’t wait for book two.
We’re Angels. Fallen and forgotten by those of most importance, but never released from the constant war raging below. The demons work to pull us just a little farther under, until we’re serving and slaves once again as Aeshma—wrath demons designed for war. But for an entirely different deity
I don't understand why someone starts a career as a writer just to write this garbage that has been written thousands of times. If this is the path this "writer" is going to take, just stop and save us from this crap.
I think I’ve recovered enough after finishing Fated to just write “that was amazing” over and over again as my full review. This book is a unique melting pot of genres; romance, fantasy, thriller, & suspense. From the very first page you are pulled into an intense scene that prevents you from setting the book aside. (Spoken from the person who stayed up all night to read this book)
Liza James is an artist of words as she describes every character and situation in vivid detail. I experienced a whole mix of feelings and emotions as I hungrily devoured each page. The chemistry between each character is delicious and full of passion. We see a beautiful development of relationships from platonic, to familial and of course, blood bonds.
As an avid reader of fantasy, I didn’t feel like the romance outweighed the plot. There have been many books that I’ve read that could not balance the two which ended up in great disappointment. This book appealed to my fantasy side with the brewing tensions between the fallen angels and demons in a world hidden right in NYC. The romance side was very complementary to the progression of the plot and I think this book had a perfect balance of fantasy, romance and suspense.
I adore Luna, she is such a brave character with a fiery attitude that makes her that much more exciting when she clashes with Elijah, the delicious fallen angel who just adds fuel to her fire.
This book also successfully develops its supporting characters and antagonists. I don’t want to reveal any spoilers but let’s just say I loved all characters in this book equally; each has a fiery spirit that builds with every interaction.
As for the plot, my head is pounding with all the unexpected twists and turns that the author pulled. You can tell that she spent her time learning about the different types of angels & demons and how they can make an impact on one another.
So to sum it up from the beginning: that was amazing, that was amazing, that was amazing. Liza James was definitely Fated to write this book.
This is a SUPER TOXIC relationship. He’s dragging her through the mud and she’s always going in her knees and begging him. Doesn’t matter what he does, she would go back & again & again. I feel like the author makes that seem like she’s “strong” but hun, no. That’s toxic.
A big shout out and thank you to the publisher and Books and Moods PR for including me in the blog tour and providing me with a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
The synopsis, in my opinion, remains very true to the story. The story is gritty, passionate, difficult, angsty, frustrating. It is also very gripping. You race through the book faster than you’d think possible. The pace does not let up, and even if it did you wouldn’t notice because the emotions of the protagonists keep you enthralled.
They push, pull, struggle and fight against themselves and each other. They face their own nightmares and at the same time pit themselves against their fate, both for the same reason: fear. The book has a lot more pain than love, so be prepared to bleed. There are some interesting plot lines that start to reveal themselves and tie together rather nicely and add to the connection between the characters.
I didn’t think I’d fall in love with another potential couple already, nor did I think I’d be surprised by the antagonist. But I was and I was. I’m utterly invested in knowing what’s going to happen next and curious as to where the author will lead us with her next book.
Four stars! Definitely recommend. There may be some triggers to watch out for, so do check those before reading. Kindle Unlimited users, this book is absolutely free for you. Happy reading!
I’m a huge fan of books where fallen angels are the main characters, and this book was incredible! The tension between Elijah and Luna just kept building and building until it basically exploded. It was epic! Elijah...he was something else! I actually felt he was pretty cruel and brutal at first and it took a bit for him to grow on me. Then suddenly he was EVERYTHING! Even after the intense moment between them, the story just kept building with suspense and a bit of mystery, not to mention some surprises! This is definitely going on my favorites list destined to be read again! I can’t wait for Stella’s story! I have some suspicions and I’m dying to see if I’m right! *I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I'm just going to be honest here, I wasn't expecting this book to be so damn powerful, and so amazingly beautiful. I'm shooketh to the bloody CORE!!
Just everything about this book had me hooked. The scary beginning, the rocky middle, and that fucking ending my WOW. I honestly can't even right now.
I loved every single character in this book. I loved Luna and her sweet and gentle nature. Even after all of the pain and suffering she has endured in her life, she doesn't let that define who she is.
And Elijah?? Gosh I didn't know whether I wanted to steal him from Luna (I mean. He's got tattoos. He sounds like every women's wet dream I mean COME ON!) or slap the shiznit out of him. He made me mad so many times in this book. But I still love him, he made up in the end.
Okay I think I've said enough now, so I'm just going to stop before I spoil even more...
I received an ARC for an honest review. This book was SOOO worth it.
Reread 1/2022 Better the second time around, raised it a star to 4 stars. I think I’ve read enough PNR (fated mate) since this book to discover some truly awful writing/plotting. I reread it in prep for book 2.
5/30/20
DNF 70%
Angels and demons mashed with X-men powers.
3 stars might be generous. This read in the beginning as fanfic. Such a shame. It did get better as the story progressed. The plot was interesting. Loved the angst ;) I’ll check back with this author in a few more books. I’d love to read Stella and Nathaniel’s book.
Not normally into fantasy books but this one had me gripped from the get go dark gritty luna and Elijah literally stole a peace of my heart. Both these characters have been through turmoil and heartache, maybe they can help rebuild them selves together you just cant help but feel captivated by there journeys apart and together. This is the first book I've read of liza james and certainly wont be the last loved it
No words would be adequate to describe how much I loved this book! This story was thick with tension, push and pull, mystery and deep intrigue. Every word I read pulled me in, brought me deeper into the story like I was a living breathing entity within the world that Liza James so beautifully created.
This story was original, unique and brilliantly written. It had everything you could want in a uniquely crafted storyline. Each character was compelling and captivating in their own special way. Each contributing a special piece to the puzzle that was this book. I fell hard and deep for Luna and Elijah. Their chemistry was so incredible to witness as I watched their bond unfold. Liza James truly made you feel like their relationship, their bond, was one in a million. Like there was nothing that could compare. The strength and resiliency they gave to one another, even when at times they tried to deny their soul deep connection, was truly astonishing to behold.
The twists and turns. The turbulent ride as both Elijah and Luna came to grasp the full understanding of their fated bond. Came to grasp that even without the blood bond there was something soul deep connecting them in the most intimate and genuine way possible. This story constantly kept me on my toes and wanting more. Wanting to see what would happen next, feeling the emotions that both Elijah and Luna felt as they navigated these new feelings, emotions, and ultimately fate that brought them together.
This story had it all! I genuinely cannot wait to see where this storyline goes as other characters take a prominent role, front and center.
This is a first read by this author for me but won’t be my last as I am obsessed with all the angels and demons in this world Liza has created! I am not that big into fantasy romance but when it comes to Greek Gods or Angels and Demons, I am loving it. They are growing on me and I am pleased with that. Just another trope to add to my long list of fave tropes to read.
So I was hooked from the beginning, even with it kinda of a little slow to begin with but it needed to be to set up what was going to happen, but nonetheless I was hooked. I needed to know what was happening to Luna and why to her. What happened in her past 7 years ago. I loved Luna though. Everything she has been through in her life and she still came out strong and was still so sassy. Loved that she didn’t hold her tongue.
Now Elijah had to grow on me. He started out good and I loved how he felt the need to protect Luna as soon as he saw her. He didn’t understand that need but I loved it. But then I didn’t like him for a little while lol. He was pushing Luna away with Sam, I mean I get it he didn’t want to have those feelings again but I don’t have to like it lol. I am happy to say that he did win me over again and I loved him.
I loved everything about this book. I couldn’t put it down. I need Stella’s book!
There is something about Fallen Angel books that draws me in. This book is designed to be read in one sitting, there is absolutely no way you can leave this book halfway through a chapter. I sat and read this in a day, I just could not put it down. The start is a little darker than I would have imagined, but this is what drew me in. Then we have the introduction of the mysterious yet delicious Elijah and the curiously sweet Luna, and from this point I couldn't have guessed what happens in this book. I could not predict ANYTHING!
Elijah does the unimaginable to help Luna, but appears to struggle with the decision and so we are faced with a little enemies to lovers situation which just perfected this book even more for me. The passion between the two main characters, and also lusty Stella and Nathaniel😍, was so hot, I had to fan myself!! The ending of this book made me very impatient for book 2, and I truly recommend this for any reader. It's not overwhelmingly strange so easy to keep to the plot. Bravo Liza!
Are you guys ready? Fated is a wonderful story, that will hook you and you won't be able to stop reading!
“I hate you,” I whisper the words, and this time I open my eyes to watch him as I say it. His hands stop moving against my skin as he looks up to meet my gaze. “Liar,” he states. “I wish I hated you,” I say, my voice cracking just the tiniest bit and betraying me. “That I believe.”
It's been a while since a book intrigued me so much like this one. This was the first book I've read from the author and I know, it'll be the first of many. Liza's writing hooks you from the very first page, the way she writes and describes all the situations and scenes it's incredible and engaging. I'm not a huge fan of books mix with fantasy but this story simply did it for me. The way the characters met, the action and thrilling moments always leave you wanting for more. I LOVED the interaction between Elijah and Luna, it was hot, pure fire and the denial they both tried to prove at all costs made the situation even more interesting; they both are strong and stubborn af, what one lacks the other has and together they overcome everything. It is very interesting to see the way they met and the whole journey of accepting the relationship they now have.
I'm a huge fan of Luna! She's so strong, I love her attitude and bravery, even in the shittiest moments she had to go through, she never steps back from a challenge and if you provoke her, she'll react and boy, be ready for that! Her huge heart and how she takes care of others had my heart swooning through the whole story. She's definitely one of my fave heroines.
Elijah, oh, Elijah this guy True love or a sweet, touching moment reveals what a big softy he really is under all that hard muscle, he's super protective of Luna and he'll do anything for her. It was also a huge discovery to know all the information about Angels and Demons, the stories, legends, and languages. You really can tell that the author did a great job with research and those little details are what's makes the difference for me when I read a book. You can see that she cared about showing us this new world of the Fated.
The secondary characters, one word: A M A Z I N G. I won't say anything else 'cause of spoilers (duh!) but what I can tell you is that YOU ALL NEED TO READ THIS BOOK!
You. Are. Not. Ready. For. Elijah! The brooding, sex on a stick, fallen who's covered in tattoos. Luna who's thrust into a war she knows nothing about. A war with the fallen Angel's for the throne. This story is scorching hot! I was stuck between being pissed at Elijah and commending his cause. This world Liza has written is impeccably told. She shapes this world and doesnt leave anything out. I recieved an ARC in exchange for a honest review
I devoured this book. Angel/Demon is my favorite PNR and honestly, once I started, I couldn’t stop. There were so many facets to this story, so much more than just our main characters, and way more than just a love story.
Elijah- I do not have the words for how much I wanted someone to throat punch him, for a good portion of this book. Did he have his reasons for his behavior? Absolutely. Things to overcome? Also yes. Did I still want him punched? Uh, yep. But good golly, when he did get it together, I just wanted to melt into a puddle of goo.
Luna- Yep. I’m in love. Let’s go ahead and stick her in my pile of FMC that I adore. Brave, even when she didn’t want to be, vulnerable when she needed to be, and so not cowed down by Elijah’s treatment. I love it. She is exactly what the people around her needed, even if they didn’t realize it.
The trailing of this book into the next is for sure going to keep me hooked, and impatient, because I’m ready to find out more about Stella and everyone else.
I highly recommend this, even to my non PNR readers, simply because it wasn’t so overwhelmingly immersed in the weird. Just enough.
Can I just start off with saying wow oh wow! What a pleasant surprise this book was and one that I am going to say I fucking loved from the beginning.
Now this is take two on writing my review and let’s just pray I don’t sprout any word vomit. From the very first page, the very first word I was pulled into the unknown, into the world of the unknown that truth be told I didn’t know if I was going to enjoy.
This book had been sitting on my kindle going on months and months. A couple days ago was the day I took the plunge and said you know what fuck it, I am going in. If I don’t like, I don’t like it but you know what I gave it a real hard crack.
I am not a PNR girl at all, don’t get me wrong I can watch paranormal tv shows but for the life of me I just can’t read them but this book was different. This author was different and this world that was created was made for me. I was living, and breathing for it. This world was so realistic that you could just see yourself connecting but it of course had its paranormal elements that just gave this world a whole new meaning and just turned the wow factor dial all the way up.
Now I suppose, I should get onto the story itself. This book we are introduced to so many characters but this is Elijah and Luna’s Story. Have you ever met two people that when they first meet each other it’s like they already knew each other? This is what it was like for these two. They just had this tension that just kept brewing and growing each time they were in the same close proximity to one another. It was a tension that could be cut with a knife but the plot twist in saying that is that the knife isn’t sharp enough to break what they have.
You know what they say about having unexpected things turn up, sometimes they could be the best things to ever happen to someone. I truly believe this statement resonates with Luna and Elijah. These two were unexpected but they were bound to happen, they were fated to happen. They are like two souls connecting to each other.
Elijah and Luna never asked or wanted this connection, but the force was too strong that it was only before long before it was gonna happen anyway. They have consumed each other and made a home deep inside one another that in the end they have become so lost in one another that the question they will have to ask themselves is that now that they have lost themselves, will they want to find their way out.
As their story progresses, you have no clue where this author is going to take you. Nothing could prepare you for the ride that you get taken on. It’s full of angst and mind blowing moments. There is so much to be said about this book, that I am still reeling from this book and these characters story. My head is spinning with all the twist and turns that this author took us on but also through the characters journey.
So moral of this review, I couldn’t recommend you read this book enough. It exceeded anything that I could have anticipated. Prepare your hearts to fall so deep in love with not only Elijah and Luna but with the secondary characters as well who will hold a dear piece of your heart as well.
