The civil war is over. The battle for the crown is about to begin.Three years ago, Rohen Velis was on the losing side of a long and brutal war for the White Throne. An orphan without a silver to his name, he had nothing—except the forbidden love of Delaryn Whitefeather, the beautiful daughter of the Usurper King. Rohen joined her father’s army and fought valiantly in her defense, but the fate of the revolution had already been written. The Usurper was executed, Delaryn was taken as a prize by her conqueror, and Rohen was offered a bitter hang in the gallows with the rest of the traitors or seek redemption in service of the Templar, the hallowed guardians of the realm. Either way, he would never see Delaryn again. But now, as the kingdom licks its wounds from the last war, a new threat has emerged in the north. A horde of Godcursed monsters called the Chol are flooding out of the mountains in greater numbers than ever before, and the Templar are the only ones capable of fighting back the dark tide. When Rohen rides to the front lines to join the rightful king’s army, he learns that Delaryn is still alive—and that she has been forced to wed the very man who slaughtered her family and stole her away. Caught between his duty to the Templar and his love of the queen, Rohen must sacrifice everything to defend her one last time.Queen of the Pale is a dark fantasy epic filled with courtly intrigue, pulse-pounding action, and desperate, forbidden sex (58,000 words)

Sarah Hawke is a prolific writer of science fiction and fantasy in multiple genres, including erotica, harem, and bondage. Her books are known for their intricate world-building, twisting plots, and fleshed-out characters—and of course their many intense, steamy sex scenes.

If you are interested in "pure" traditional harem stories, The Lost Fleet is the perfect place to start! Wings of the Seraph is a shorter, older series but also hits most of the traditional harem notes. Shadow of the Seraph features a rotating male and female pov with some F-F scenes involving temporary futanari, so avoid that unless it is your jam!

Her fantasy universe features many types of erotica stories involving bondage (Elf Slave, all the Spider Queen books) and non-traditional harems (The Amazon's Pledge, The Amazon's Vengeance). She also has two ongoing fantasy erotica series with intense action and multiple points of view, War of the White Throne and The Blade of Highwind.

High fantasy in a rich and complex setting. Nobles, elves, priests, sorcerors, dark elves, demonic incursions, and more - I found it quite hard work to follow everything that was going on.
It's only when I came to write this I found the setting had previously been introduced in another series. It's not always a bad thing when that happens - it's very much one of those cases where the fact that a lot has already happened that you don't know all about makes the setting feel much more real and complete. Real life is always like that, after all.

The story is pretty good though, and I think it is worth the effort to understand.

Wonderful Start to a New Series

Sarah Hawke has started a new series based on her previous Highwind novels. The world is detailed, the scenes are well thought out and exciting, and the story holds the reader’s attention. I like the way this author writes stories. Thankfully there are three books in the series already written.

A great start to a new series

This series has a lot of potential and seeing as it's in the same world as TAV is extremely exciting!

Im interested in learning more about this kingdom, the Chol, and of course the erotica! The combat is intense and the erotic scenes are amazing!

Good start

First book I have read by this author and after I got part way into it, really enjoyed the story and will immediately start on book two. A few grammar errors or missing words but much better than other books I normally read.

Sarah Hawke is an exceptional story teller and I just finished Queen of the Pale which will not disappoint. Her characters are always interesting, fun, and a lot of romance mixed into the story. Not to mention more than a few surprises!

Really good!

This is a slight departure from the usual for her, but I think it show cases her growth as an author.

I crushed this book then got sad the series was still being written. I force myself to slow down to avoid whiplash. I love the character depth of the MCs.
