The books in the "That's not my..." series can be an interesting read for young babies as they cover a variety of subjects and offer a sensory experience. A common downside of the series is that the descriptions and textures become overly general and repetitive. In this book, fury textures are used for bat ears, tummy and wings. In reality, most bats have no fur on their wings and their noses are not "rough".

I'm surprised that there wasn't already a bat book in the That's Not My... series, but as someone who loves Halloween far more than Christmas I was excited to see that this had been released. Spookily, on the same day that I borrowed this book for my little one I managed to see a bat up close for the first time in my life - what could be more magical than that?!

Jack borrowed this book from the Canal Winchester Library. I picked it because he loves this series. But, alas, I think he may be starting to outgrow it. He let me read the book but wasn’t super interested in feeling the textures. It’s cute though. I like when the mouse gets bat wings and flies at the end.

I must admit to feeling a little daft reviewing a book designed for babies! That said, this is a great Halloween present for someone too little for sweets. The "That's Not My..." range is great for its different textures and I'm glad a Halloween version has been added.

A charming touch and feel book perfect for babies and toddlers. These series of books are a big hit with my daughter. Fun to read out loud for mom and fun for baby to feel the different textures. Very cute.

In this board book, cute little bats are shown and the reader gets to feel the different textures on them. When the right bat is found it is identified by the softness of its wings. Also, look for a curious little mouse on each two-page spread.

I was very excited to have a Halloween version of this series. The metallic purple spine is really pretty but I didn't think this one had any particularly unique uses of the texture areas compared to what we've read.

Probably my son’s favorite kind of book - touch and feel, quick story so it holds his attention, and great colors and illustrations.

The bats are cute, the textures are fuzzy, the sentences are short, and the page edges are shiny purple metallic. What more could you want? Will be looking for more in this series
