It’s January 2021. A cataclysmic domestic terrorism attack has obliterated the federal government, and FBI agent George Moore and General Alexander Marius Taylor step into the void to prevent chaos. But both men have a dark secret that propels them on a collision course with history, and each other.
In the wake of the attack, General Taylor declares martial law, and a captivated public embraces him as their “American Caesar”. Moore is handpicked to investigate the case, which appears to be a slam dunk. But he uncovers startling information that pits him against his bosses and threatens to shatter his FBI career. Moore then learns of his link to a top-secret government project that forces him to question everything about himself and his country. What Moore discovers makes him the “Indispensable Man” destined to lead the opposition force against General Taylor, who has no intentions of surrendering power. This final epic confrontation will determine the fate of the United States.
This was not what I was expecting. First of all I loved the book. I was not only entertained but it was also thought provoking. One thing the author didn't address was the 3%rs. Where was the civilian militia in the scenario? Did he think that everyone is like many in large cities who will just go along with what the government wanted so they don't lose their government allotment? I was expecting George to recruit Nesha's group of merry men to help him. Or Virginia Dare's redneck friends in Kentucky.....there are too many Constitutionalist out there that won't be sitting at home allowing this to happen.
So. The liberal finally understands the 2nd Amendments. Fav quote: "But as he slouched back into his chair, nose split and dignity lost, all he wanted was a gun. For the first time in his life, Levin wanted a gun in his hand. No—needed a gun in his hand. And he knew he would have used it. To protect his family. Aah, sweet irony."
Loved the beginning and the plot twist with Agent Moore loosing his job and all. Even the cloning bit seemed well incorporated. But, if Taylor character can come to power as easily as it seemed in only 6 weeks...dunno, seemed like a bad movie script. Verity project involved a lot of killings for a new world order idea, love story with Grace is too lame, George could be her father with the age difference. Anyways, didn't feel the end was as exciting...almost thought Falgang dude is gonna be a dictator of another kind as well.

Let's get this out of the way: most author's first books are labors of love and mean a lot to them. I get that so my criticism here is with that in mind.
I did not enjoy this book. It partly owes to my lack of empathy for the characters and partly to what I felt was a political bias that infects the story. So why does it still get four stars? Because, as much as I did not enjoy it, the characters are well designed and the plot is executed quite well. It might appeal to others and I don't want to dissuade based on my perception.
Power, greed for power and ultimate power, all these things will lead to destruction. FBI agent with failed marriage and a plot to destroy him, if he does not toe the line. Plus couple of friends to give a helping hand, when he was down and out make it all very interesting. You cannot ask for more. The story moves at rapid speed and the end bowls you over completely. A very good book to read.
The problem is with the premise stated by Taylor - That a newly elected Speaker of the House can replace a president who succeeded to the presidency when all others in the line of succession died.
Once someone is sworn in, they ARE the president. Not acting.
This book starts out as a great action piece in which a terrorist act followed by a power grab completely change the America we know. The characters are interesting and well described, and there is plenty of action. The protagonist has a unique history that thrusts him into a whirlpool of action in which the fix is as bad as the problem.
Very good book just when you thought it was over it kept on going, sounds like something someone on power would do today take over the United States and destroy it.
My past hours has been spent reading this interesting tale, that was not anything I expected.. The author, Rick Bosworth , introduced a few very interesting perspectives on how our nation might be improved in this captivating story...
The book is well written, but I can’t handle a political situation similar to what we are going through right now. I could not finish it. If it were during different times, I’m sure I would finish it and like it more.
Great book, kept me wanting to turn the page to figure out what was coming next. A lot of imagination was needed to twist the plot into the final outcome.
