Countless books have been written about planning for retirement. This one is about managing your wealth during retirement. The shift from work to retirement changes things. Maximizing the impact of your money―for yourself, your family, and the causes you care about―requires thoughtful, strategic management. This book shares strategies I apply every day in serving retired clients with at least $1 million to invest―strategies I carefully tailor to each client’s goals. I’ve developed the ability to create such strategies across more than thirty years in the industry. This book shares • the wealth management strategies I use with my high-net-worth clients’ portfolios; • the lessons I have learned advising clients on their investments over thirty years of bull and bear markets; • important questions to ask yourself before and after retiring; and • advice for those seeking a more fulfilled retirement. *Securities and advisory services offered through Commonwealth Financial Network®, FINRA / SIPC, a Registered Investment Adviser. The author correctly states that, countless books have been written about PLANNING for retirement. However, this book is about MANAGING your wealth during retirement.

The author Debera Brede with uses real examples to makes us see and understand the reality of the commitment we need to be able to generate or how not to lose income during retirement. She teaches us strategies to avoid making financial mistakes. Perhaps it is a book for a specific segment of the population since it targets people who have a certain purchasing power and are financially calm, but it also adapts in a correct way to anyone who wants to generate income during retirement. I recommend reading this book, especially to all those who are close to retirement or if retirement is a topic that worries you in your future.
This is a great book to read and pay attention to every detail. “You´re Retired…Now What?: Discovering & Funding your Purpose-driven Retirement” was written by Debra Brede. It is an inspirational and helpful book because it will help you manage your money when that moment comes. What is interesting about it, is that the writer tells her own experiences. Throughout her life she has undergone tough situations that helped her to keep on growing and achieving her goals. I would like to quote some of her words: “Looking back on these hard times in my life, I know they made me who I am today”. I think that this gives people an important message: determination and resilience. Besides, you will find lots of examples and useful pieces of advice to bear in mind. All in all, it is well-written and fully developed. It certainly answers many questions that people who are about to retire ask themselves. I thoroughly recommend this reading to anyone who is on the verge of retirement. It is a must-read book!
“You're Retired...Now What?” is a useful guide written by Debra Brede. Even though, I’m not a retired person, my mum is about to become one, so after reading it, I gave this book to her as a gift and I must say that it was the perfect birthday present for her; she was delightful with it.
The book relates tells how to manage your money now when you are retired. It gives you really useful pieces of advice, strategies, lessons and ideas on how to invest your income. I was impressed by the way the author teaches you to control your savings; it is full of examples and it is easy to read. It includes the changes in the financial services industry and how you can take advantage of that. Each chapter is better than the last one, so I can’t choose one. All of the parts, will leave the reader with a great deal to think about.
After reading this book, you will feel more secured and encouraged. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Don’t miss it and give it a try now!
This book is a must! I have bought it to help my mother during her retirement age. I consider it as a guide with useful tips and strategies to manage wealth and to experience a successful retirement from many different aspects. It would help readers to open up their minds and ask themselves questions. I advise this book to those who are about to retire or are already enjoying this period of life. Readers can rely on the information present here since it has been provided by the founder and president of D.K. Brede Investment Management Company, Inc and author of this masterpiece, Debra K. Brede. Besides, the book is written in the first person and some real cases of the author’s clients are outlined to serve as evidence that backs up what she wants to convey. The main theme of You’re Retired...Now what? is revealing key experiences that have shaped the author’s approach to preserving and growing her clients’ wealth during retiremen.
“You’re Retired… Now What?: Discovering & Funding Your Purpose-driven Retirement” is a book written by Debra Brede, financial advisor. It shows how much knowledge the author has on the topic because the concepts are very well and clearly explained. This is a short book that has less than two hundred pages but contains a lot of useful information. The strategies shared by the author are all proven to be successful. Moreover, all these strategies were created over many years of experience, so the author is certain about them. I liked Brede’s writing style very much because she goes to the point and is clear. I think this book contains very useful information for those who are about to retire but also for those people like me that are in the search of ways to help our parents to be prepared for their future. All in all, I liked this book very much because I found it easy to read and understand apart from containing very useful information.
Sadly I’m not anywhere close to retirement but it is important to prepare always. It’s hard to know what is important for retirement and what it will look like. This book was eye opening. It’s for people who are already in the processes but I could imagine myself being retired. It has good tips for saving and funding the rest of your life. I was writing down certain tactics and ideas to make a plan, this is a really good guide to know what it entails. I really recommend this book for everyone especially those who are already coming up on retirement. I am going to mention this book to everyone I know. Really good book, well written, and easy to understand. These type of topics can get tricky and complicated but with book like these, it can be easier and manageable.
Managing your wealth during your retirement may seem like an easy task, but it can depend on so many factors. The author of this book Debra Brede gives us a comprehensive list of lessons that details successful strategies and advice for those who want to live a better life during their retirement years. Utilizing her vast experience as a Financial Advisor, Mrs. Brede gives solid financial advice to those who are close to retirement age or have already surpassed it. Main points in the book highlight the importance of budgets to avoid running out of money, as well as the importance of leaving some wealth for your children. This is not a book to plan for your retirement. This book assumes you have reached that age, have made your plans, and now need advice on managing your wealth during retirement (just as the title states). A no-nonsense book with solid advice that is easy to grasp.
This book offers a nice mix of a biography and lessons on learning how to retire without having to worry about making ends meet. I really enjoyed the bits about the author's life as they were entertaining and much of it was quite relatable. When it comes to the money and investment part of the book, I had to read it slower, in order to not miss anything. There is plenty to learn and you might be better off taking notes. Not all of the info made sense to me but I hope to refer to it more in the future and it will possibly make more sense. However, my favorite part was the question and answer section near the end of the book. This was just a random and fun addition to this one. Check this one out to learn more on how to retire and what you'll need to know before you do.
There are a million and one books about retirement and wealth management. This is the one you should read. It is a concise, helpful, grounded book from someone who understands retirement, finances, and how to live meaningfully after retirement.
This books is for anyone who has ever considered retirement or has already retired. Retirement is a new phase of life that takes as much purpose-driven planning as any other phase of life such as moving away from home, getting married, getting divorced, or having children.
This book can guide you in a way that I have never seen another retirement book attempt.
You're Retired...Now What?: Discovering & Funding Your Purpose-driven Retirement by Debra Brede
This 200-page book is selling well in the Wealth Management and Retirement Planning genres and with good reason. It's not so much about planning your retirement as managing your wealth during retirement and that's a key difference from so many other books on the same reading lists. The author is a graduate of Harvard Business School and founder of DK Brede Investment Management Company, so she's definitely got the chops for the subject matter at hand. She gives clear and concise advice on making sure your money lasts as long as you do. She also makes suggestions for making any philanthropic aspirations you might have a safe and smart choice. I might have a way to go before retirement but the earlier you get your financial ducks in a row, well, the richer you'll be. And that's the goal, right?
Hmmm. Interesting story of personal triumph over very rough start but her deals with God are annoying. She gets points for being philanthropic. Quick read.
