After her father’s accident, Corrie Lancaster moves back to the family farm just in time to help with the harvest. With a bumper crop of wheat waiting, the farm’s only hired hand quits, leaving Corrie with no choice but to accept the help of her old boyfriend’s older brother, Aaron Tuttle. It seems like the perfect plan until Corrie realizes ex-flame Luke isn’t over her. But even with Luke’s apologies and attempts to rekindle their romance, Corrie can’t forget his past betrayal.

Between harvesting, keeping tabs on her younger siblings, and watching her parents’ marriage crumble, Corrie leans on Aaron for emotional support. Wading through jealousy was never on Corrie’s to-do list, but as she navigates the choppy waters, she finds herself falling for Aaron’s good looks and charming wit.

Just when Corrie thinks she has everything under control, a stranger seeking shelter comes to the farm, and an old nemesis returns for revenge. As destructive forces align against her, Corrie must decide which man’s love will bring her back to life and restore her faith in herself, her family, and her purpose.

Book Reviewed on www.whisperingstories.com

Farm life is hard, but for Corrie Lancaster it was even harder after her father had an accident and she had to come home to run the farm when it was at its busiest time of the year – harvest.

I just loved this heartwarming book of a family who’s bond and faith were strong enough to endure whatever life had to throw at it, and they certainly had lots of ups and downs. It felt so relatable to real life.

I adored the characters, my favourites were Corrie with her unending resolve to keep going no-matter-what and Aaron who just comes across as such a dear man. They came across as so realistic that I felt I knew them.

The story took us through a lot of challenging times along with some lovely tender moments. My interest was kept all the way through and I loved the times when everything seemed at its worst as there was always a glimmer of light.

Amber Waves of Grace is a very emotional tale that had me in tears and in deep joy too. It was certainly a page-turner which meant I never wanted to put it down, it’s always good to be left wanting more.

I love that the author Jessica Berg has taken everyday life and turned it into an epic beautiful story. Life is a roller coaster and this shows us just that. It’s well written with very expressive language and I would highly recommend this romantic story to everyone.

Corrie moves back home to make life easier for her family. In the process she complicates her own life. Her family own a farm and they need a hand. Corrie may have left home but old feelings are still ripe. Her ex boyfriend older brother is now working on the land but he might not be the only one interested.

There is quite a lot going on with this book. Family, potential love matches and a future back at home.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

So, even though I'm a Christian, I oftentimes have a difficult time with books written as "religious fiction". The can seem contrived and forced, even to me. So I always start them with a little bit of trepidation.

Let me just say right from the start that Amber Waves of Grace is not one of those kinds of books. I could sense the Christian elements of this without it dictating how I was supposed to feel or relate to the characters.

Corrie, the main character, comes home to help her injured father with the farm. Needless to say she is a bit overwhelmed when she gets there. Enter her ex and his brother who are more than happy to help her.

That's all I'm going to say for the plot. But, I'll say that this was a refreshing story of confusing romantic entanglements, a very intriguing side plot, and very strong characters all around.

I'm extremely satisfied after reading Amber Waves of Grace. I hope to read more from Ms. Berg.

This really was a beautifully written heart-warming story and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. From the beginning to the end I felt like I was right there with the wonderful characters in this story, especially Corrie, she was just an amazing person. The author took me on an emotional roller-coaster with Corrie’s story, there were certainly some ups and downs and definitely some very emotional moments. It truly was a lovely story to read and one that I would highly recommend. This was also my first time reading a book by this author and will absolutely not be the last!

First off- Happy Book Birthday to Jessica Berg! This book comes out today and the lovely author sent me a review copy to read ahead of it's release. Initially I was unsure whether or not I was the right audience for this story. Let me explain... I could tell from the title and synopsis that this book would have some religious ties. This was confirmed when I started reading. I happen to be an athiest and I'm always aware how my personal biases might influence not just how I read a book, but how I review it. Still, I chose to read and review Amber Waves of Grace because a good story is a good story regardless, and reading a book from a different perspective then your own should help open your mind and understand the other side better, I'm happy to report that this one did! While it was certainly out of my normal wheel house, I really enjoyed the stories and the relationships that Berg presented in this story.

At it's heart this is a story about people trying to figure out who they are and what they want, which could get boring, however Berg sprinkles in just the right amount of mystery and intrigue to keep the story moving. The main character Corrie is a girl after my own heart, my grandparents owned a farm and I worked training horses for several years, and Corrie is definitely a farm girl right down to her "I can do it myself" attitude and penchant for a hard working farm boy to spend spend her time with. Without giving anything away, Corrie also comes with some baggage from years before and is forced to confront her past and her future when she has to take over the family farm and accept help from the one family she's tried to seperate herself from. Watching Corrie try to figure out what she wants and how to get it is a great story.

The b plot to this book revolves around a young lady, Violet, who ends up at the farm quite by accident, but who brings with her baggage of her own, namely a pregnancy and an ex-fiance that's bent on revenge. At points it was hard to follow the timeline, but ultimately the story of Violet also figuring out what she wants in life brings in a storyline that both parallels Corrie's and helps Corrie figure out what is really important in life.

In the end what I really appreciated about this story is what it has to say about family and what you can endure if you have family by your side. For Corrie it provides an anchor to build a life around, and for Violet, a second chance at happiness. Yes, there is also romance, but for me the heart of the story was about who you choose to make a family with and how that can help you become who you are truly meant to be.

.
Thankyou so much BookSirens for the review copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.
.
This book follows our main character Corrie who comes back to her hometown to help with her father's farm after his terrible accident. How she deals with her past and how she finds happiness again is the main story.
.
First, I loved all the characters and what they represented. Corrie is strong, determined and goal oriented who wants to help her family no matter what. Aaron is really kind, hardworking and has a way of making Corrie relax and happy. It was really great to read about them as characters. The family dynamic and the friendships formed during the course of the story was really done well. Nikki is one of my favorites and I would love to have her as my sister !
.
Second, I really liked the setting of the story. I am a huge fan of cowboy style and farming background for a character. The fact that Corrie was both really made me happy. There were a lot of farming and harvesting terms used and I must say I learnt a lot !
.
The writing style was really simple and delivered what the character wanted to get through. But sometimes the scenes unfolding felt really unnecessary and rushed. Violet is a grest character, but we never get to experience what and who she is as a character. When you are half way into the book, there was a lot that happened already, and you just get agitated and want the story to move forward and not drag. Maybe I am used to fast paced books or extreme plot twists or emotionally expressive characters, but I felt the build-up for few plotlines were overdone. Other than that, the story as a whole was really good and wholesome.
.
Overall, I really loved the setting of the storyline, loved the characters introduced, simple writing style, the subtle, slow paced yet strong romance and the family dynamic. If you are a fan of any of the above, give this book a go !

"Amber Waves of Grace" by Jessica Berg

My Speculation:

A beautiful story of one powerful and inspirational read that will keep you turning the pages to see how it will all go down for Corrie Lancaster. When it seems like all is going against her help from her old boyfriend's brother, but at the same time, it looks like there will be problems with her ex-flame as it seems like he wants to rekindle their romance.

With it seeming like all is on Corrie from 'harvesting, keeping tabs on her younger siblings, seeing her parents' marriage crumble, who will be there for her emotional support?' And then what will happen when another person arrives at their farm that needs help and an 'old nemesis returns for revenge?'

What a story this will be as this author delivers quite a well-written script to the reader where Corrie will have a lot of decisions to make as to 'bring her back to life and restore her faith in herself, her family, and her life's purpose.'

Thank you to the author for the read of your novel and my giving an honest opinion of the read.

Corrie Lancaster has come home to run the family farm after her father’s accident. And while she never really saw herself as a farmer -it runs in her blood- so she has this sense of pride that may keep her going, but also prevents her from asking for help when she desperately needs it. Her main hired man who has helped run things on the farm for years has quit - right on the cusp of harvesting season. Enter Aaron Tuttle. He is more than willing to help the Lancaster family. And even with things take a dangerous turn, he still does all he can to help Corrie and her family. Add in a mysterious pregnant woman showing up and some disastrous events on the farm - and the author has written a book that was fun, quick, and intriguing. I didn’t want to put it down once I started reading it.

I must say, even though the I don’t usually head towards faith based books, one of the things I enjoyed the most was that during everything that went wrong, and all the curveballs that were thrown her way, Corrie still kept her faith. I have always had difficulty bonding to characters that have that perfect faith - the kind that never gets rattled no matter what life throws at them; but the author really showed the internal struggle that Corrie was going through, at times, and it made her character much more relatable. Corrie’s faith & religion play an important part in her life, and her family’s life. There is some romance to this book, yes (sweet and cute love blooming between neighbors) but it is not the main plot. More so, this book tells the story of family, faith, and perseverance. Even when she wasn’t sure she could continue on, Corrie remained strong for her family and fought through the pain - so to speak. She realized that it was ok to accept help from others and that leaning on a friend wasn’t a bad thing.

This book was not too long - about 240 pages - and the story is gripping; it’s a great read and I can’t wait to see what else the author comes out with.

*4 stars - I was offered a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Amber Waves of Grace is a heart-warming and emotional quick read. It is a story with challenging times and lurking troubles. It is a second chance romance that will bring out all the feels. Jessica’s story telling is simplistic in its narrative and it is easy to like the characters. It is a clean romance with religious overtones and messages within.

Corrie finds she may have bit off more than she can chew but along with all the unrest, challenges, danger, just to name a few, she really starts to find herself and realise she is stronger than she thought along the way.

If you love clean romance stories you will like this book.

Update: just as good the second time, even mom fell in love with it as we listened in the car

I’m speechless. Obsessed. In love. THAT ENDING. Aaron in every way has further raised my standards for men through the roof and into heaven. They say book girlies have a type- “fictional.” I have an even worse type: “fictional Christian men of God”… bonus points if they’re a country boy and well, Aaron checks all my boxes. 4.5 stars easy for this masterpiece of a novel.

Such a beautiful story that captures the heart. The characters are realistic and flawed. Choices are made, both good and bad. Consequences follow. This is not a simple I’m sorry and all is well book. Not at all. Second chances don't come easy, if at all.

This is a heartwarming and touching story of a woman who has to give up her dreams to save her family after tragedy strikes. The title of this book is so very apt. Grace abounds throughout the pages. Tough choices must be made, which often means sacrificing personal desires for the better good of family. She carries huge burdens on her shoulders. Her biggest strength also is her biggest weakness…. she’s stubborn to a fault. Her name is Corrie.

Corrie, the heroine, is hard core to the bone. She has to be. She was betrayed and abandoned by the very person she thought was her ‘forever’. She does her best to move on and start a new life with a promising career. But it all comes to a sudden halt when she has to move back home and take control of the family farm and homestead.

She also has to come face to face with the one who betrayed her, who abandoned her. Pain like she experienced doesn’t go away with a simple, ‘I’m sorry’… especially when it take seven long years for that ‘I’m sorry’ to even be mentioned. Through it all, she finds the grace to go on, to live life and maybe, just maybe, find happiness.

🎲 WISHES: ⁉️

Would have loved to read more of Luke’s thoughts. He tells his brother he lived his guilt though drinking and women. If he felt so bad about what he did, why didn’t he go to Corrie and at least try to make amends?

Kept wondering if he ever would have apologized if she hadn’t been forced come back home. And now that he is the preacher, didn’t he know he needed her forgiveness? Why did he not seek Corrie out and ask for forgiveness? Why wait all those years? She would have been easy to find.

👁 OBSERVATIONS:

💕 Aaron was wonderful, caring and kindhearted. I did wonder if he ever knew the details of Luke’s abandonment of Corrie. Did he know the loss, the pain, the despair she faced alone?

🤔 Violet seemed to be thrown into the mix to add drama and to provide Luke a second chance. This was the most unrealistic part of the storyline. Wonder if she knows she is Luke’s second choice, that he dealt Corrie unbelievable pain, and did nothing to try to make it better? He simply ‘flew the coup’ … we know nothing about those seven years except his womanizing and alcohol drinking. How did he end up a preacher? And why keep Corrie ‘out of sight, out of mind’ until she came back home …. seven years later.

There were a lot of good lessons learned and taught in the storyline. This is one I’d read again.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Amber Waves of Grace
By: Jessica Berg
5*

This was such a sweet read with great characters. Corrie has just moved home to her family farm after a tragic accident has left her dad unable to maintain the farm. To top it all off her only farmhand just quit. Corrie is beginning to somewhat resent returning home and taking over the farm. It will take a miracle for the family farm to stay afloat. She is too stubborn to admit she needs help.
Sometimes help comes in ways other than you asking for it. It starts with her former boyfriend the pastor in town, Luke, who she has a very rocky past with. It is followed by his brother Aaron who wants to help as well. Corrie reluctantly accepts their help and Aaron is quickly becoming a very key piece to the farm as well as maybe more to Corrie. Corrie is truly beginning to fall for Aaron and it seems that the feeling is reciprocated. However, would Aaron still like her if she knew about her past?
Meanwhile, a stranger from out of town comes crashing into Corries life. This pregnant woman becomes a large piece of her life. Violet is definitely becoming a part of the Lancaster (Corrie’s) family. As violet becomes more important to the family, there are mysterious fires being set to the farm. Is it somehow related to Violet? Or is it the work of a disgruntled farmhand who doesn’t want to see Corrie succeed?
I have to be completely honest, I loved this book. I was hesitant upon beginning to read this due to the fact that I am not generally a big fan of brothers who are vying for the same girl. However, the way that the author handles this is amazing. I truly developed feelings for the characters and found myself crying at multiple points as I was reading. This was such a heart warming book and I loved that there were many happily ever afters in it as well.

In Amber Waves of Grace, Corrie Lancaster has returned home to run her family’s farm after her father was injured in an accident, leaving him unable to run it. Under much pressure to keep the farm running and her family supported, Corrie finds help in Aaron Tuttle, a neighbor and the older brother of her high school boyfriend, Luke. As they work together to harvest the fields, feelings start to develop for both, but Corrie believes that Aaron will never be able to overlook the mistakes of her past, and Aaron believes that he is too much older than Corrie for her to be interested in him. As the two work together and their relationship continues to deepen, things start happening on the farm that both threaten Corrie’s family and lead Corrie to believe that she may not be strong enough to carry the burden of running the farm. Can Corrie and Aaron find out who is behind the threats and stop him before the Lancasters lose everything? And will Corrie and Aaron be able to overcome their fears and admit their feelings?
I really loved Amber Waves of Grace. Corrie was so easy to like and relate to, because she was flawed and real. She feared rejection because of past mistakes, and I think a lot of people can identify with that fear. She was emotional and sometimes dorky. Aaron was also a very well written character. He was emotional, too, but he tried to keep it in, as guys do. He was thoroughly confused by Corrie’s emotions, and at times was ready to give up, except that he knew deep down that he would do anything for her. The story itself was exciting, and moved along at a good pace. I don’t typically re-read books, but this is one I will go back and read again.

Corrie leaves her work life behind and goes home to help with the family farm after her father suffers traumatic brain injury from an accident. She grew up doing heavy duty farm work, but she is under a great deal of pressure to keep the farm from going under.
When Corrie comes home, she also has to face Luke who broke her heart when they were young. She has never told anyone else the true story behind their break-up. Luke has now become the pastor of a church in the small town. Despite misgivings, Corrie has to put the past aside and accept help from Luke and his older brother Aaron.
To complicate matters, a young, pregnant woman named Violet shows up at the farm. She is keeping some dark secrets and is afraid, but the family insist on taking her in.
Author Jessica Berg has crafted a lovely novel that is inspirational, but not preachy. Corrie realizes that she cannot do everything on her own and God's grace will sustain her even in the most difficult times. All the characters are well fleshed out and authentic. Even the villain in the plot unfortunately fits the usual MO of men of his type.
The story flowed well and I could visualize the farm and its surroundings. The author grew up on a farm and it shines through.
It was refreshing to have a novel without profanity. Some highly promoted recent books have started to grate on my nerves with too much unnecessary cussing and profanity.
If you want an uplifting story of family, faith and romance, the AMBER WAVES OF GRACE is one you will want to get right away.

A heartwarming contemporary romance which had me hooked from start to finish. Corrie Lancaster moves back to the family farm following her father’s accident, just in time to help with the harvest. When the farm’s hired hand quits, and with a bumper wheat crop needing harvesting, Corrie has to accept the help of Aaron Tuttle, her ex boyfriend’s older brother. Corrie soon starts to lean on Aaron for emotional support, as she’s busy with the farm and harvesting, but also looking after her younger siblings and having to watch her parents marriage crumble. Unfortunately, Corrie learns that her ex boyfriend, Luke isn’t over her, and when he apologises for the past and attempts to rekindle their romance, she must decide between the two brothers.
When everything is finally under control, a stranger arrives at the farm asking for shelter, and an old nemesis returns looking for revenge. Corrie must decide which man she loves and who’s love will restore her faith. Corrie is a likeable and relatable heroine of this novel, who brings the story together. I love the connection between her and Aaron and enjoyed seeing how their relationship developed throughout the story, especially with the complication of Luke reappearing. The storyline had me gripped and I found this book hard to put down down. It took me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading it, and I felt immersed in farm life, as the setting was brought to life by the descriptive narrative. A real page turner, which I definitely recommend reading.

Contemporary Romance and So Much More

If you look at the cover and read the book description, you might be tempted to think this is your standard contemporary romance with perhaps something a little extra thrown in. But I'm happy to say the book is so much more than that. Our heroine has returned to her family home to help her family pull together on their farm. Her father suffered a traumatic brain injury and has been changed forever by it; he cannot communicate directly with the family and no longer is able to work the farm that has been his life. She is doing so much to try to hold it all together for everyone and the business, working hard on the farm while trying to help her younger siblings as they say all watch their parents' marriage falter. I love books that explore complex family dynamics as this one does. The story also has a romance element, of course, but it is more complex than we usually see. It is no simple love triangle with the backstory between our heroine and one of the men that is filled with such betrayal and pain. There is also a bit of suspense and menace in this book, making for a very complex and compelling tale. It certainly had touching and heart-rending moments. If you like complex stories of family, resilience, and romance, you may very well enjoy this book.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Corrie has her work cut out for her. After an accident leaves her father unable to carry on the daily duties of caring for and running a farm, Corrie leaves her reporter job and comes back home. She's out on the combine daily bringing in the harvest and when it's planting season, she's back planting in the fields. Tragedy seems to come naturally to Corrie though, not that she's asking for it! Whether it's firing her farmhand, running into an old love, the drama that comes with running a business, Corrie has her fair share of excitement, and it's not all good. However, there are several facets of this story that do bring about good. Tragedy brings good to those who look for it!! Corrie has a beautiful heart and the love she has for people is the kind of love this world needs more of!!

I LOVED this book!!!! It is definitely in my top three reads so far this year and I'm pretty sure it's number one! What Northern raised farm girl wouldn't love a book about a girl running a huge farm!?!?! This book was so refreshing and different from the romances I've been reading lately. There are so many elements of this book....love, grace, peace, forgiveness along with tragedy, shame, and pain. This book seemed so real to me and the author weaves this story so beautifully. There are "christian" elements in this book but it's not the sole focus of the story. I will be looking for more books by this author as I really enjoyed her storytelling and the style in which she writes!

It's the last straw for Corrie, struggling to keep the family farm running after her dad had an accident, when the hired hand George quits - but it may turn out to be a blessing in disguise when both of the neighbouring Tuttle 'boys' offer to help. Luke and she have a painful past, so he's far from welcome, but newly-home Adam, the older brother she never really noticed when she was younger, is suddenly all she can notice. But can she overcome the past to learn to trust his love? And when it becomes clear that someone is targetting the farm, can they catch the arsonist before they lose the farm - and maybe more?

This was my first book by this author, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. While not 'unputdownable', it definitely kept me reading (and enjoying doing so). The mystery side of things was handled well and added a good touch of suspense. Watching Corrie's dad gradually work through the effects of his traumatic brain injury was quite emotional at times, and seeing Violet dealing with her struggles was also quite touching. Best of all, though, was watching Adam and Corrie's relationship change from 'no way he/she could be interested' to confidence in each other's love - particularly Adam's patience with Corrie. And there are some interesting themes of forgiveness along the way. All in all, a good read.

This book really had the heart-warming aurora going on. And that small town feel. I loved the characters and their development they had as I read through! I was swept away, and felt I was transported to the beautiful farm. The book had a lot of heart and was a wonderful sweet read all the way through!

Corrie was a wonderful character; she was strong and did what she must to make it in this thing we call life. She thought she had everything she needed. But perhaps life had other plans. Meeting someone out of the blue, a person she helped in a time of need. The chemistry between them was undeniable but soft and sweet and the same time. Aaron was a sweetie as well, and you could care he generally cared. The book was not easy flow like using a plow all the way through, there were bumps, and I mean some bumps were the type to make you question everything and knock you down. Sometimes faith and a helping hand can make you see and feel otherwise. I loved the power of the heart that was shown in this book, as well as love and trust. All goes hand in hand! And the power of family! Loved it!

Such good read, it was a quick read for me as well. I was very much in touch with the story and the characters as I read. For sure, a high recommendation from myself, and this book is for sure a must read!

I think this book is well written, but to be honest I didn't enjoy it that much. The writing is very description, which many will find beautiful. Sometimes for me it was a bit too much and calling the grass crunchy seemed silly. I really didn't care for Corrie that much - I found her inconsistent, she did some stupid things, and I just couldn't relate to her (except for wondering if the guy she liked felt the same way about her. I had trouble relating to all the farming information, too. It was barely mentioned that she had left the farm to be a reporter, with her never seeming to miss that and to have been born to farm, but I wondered why she left then. It was surprising how accepting the family was of Violet arriving and living with them, without them even questioning her about her life. The drama with the person out to get the family seemed a bit far fetched. One thing that bothered me was that the families seemed to be nominal, cultural Christians, as they went to church weekly, and prayed occasionally, but didn't seem to have a real relationship with Jesus. This book doesn't have any sex scenes or bad language (other than saying the characters swore). I also felt it was too long. Even though it wasn't for me, I am sure some people will really enjoy this book.

Amber Waves of Grace definitely caught me off guard. It starts in the middle of Corrie harvesting wheat when her hired man, George, starts causing a ruckus and quits. She ends up receiving some help from Luke and Aaron Tuttle, her neighbors who are also brothers. Corrie has a complicated and painful past with Luke and becomes attracted to Aaron even though she thinks he won’t even cast a passing glance her way.
Even though I believe EVERYONE will find this story relatable, I felt a kinship with Corrie as I am both a country girl and as stubborn as the day is long. She still has a soft spot in her heart for friends and family. There is nothing Corrie wouldn’t do to keep them safe and as a woman who tries to do it all herself, she finds that is a much bigger task than she anticipated especially upon bringing in a stranger into her home and under her wing.
I laughed, yelled, and cried reading this book and fell in love with all the characters. It hits on so many different levels of emotion that feel so raw and real. There is a good amount of drama and mystery in this book without feeling like the author is relying on it to carry the story and make it interesting. It may start out a tiny bit slower than some books, but it picks up fast and tells a beautiful story!

This is a really heartwarming and beautifully written romance. I loved the authors writing style and the characters. Corrie is such a strong and determined character who's love for her family and her faith in things being the way the should be keeps her moving forwards no matter the odds against her.

When she returns back to the family farm to help after her father's accident it's not somewhere Corrie saw herself returning too. But farming runs in her blood and even though she is overwhelmed she fits back into farm life as if she never left.
When she is left needed help the brother of her ex flame offers her help. This bring her old flame Luke back into her life, wanting to rekindle things, however with his past betrayals this isn't possible for Corrie.

When things start to get worse with her parents marriage, the stress of the farm and the younger siblings and someone from their past out for revenge she turns to Lukes brother Aaron. But when feelings of friendship turns into attraction it just adds another complicated situation to an already complicated life.

You will fall in love with this story and characters and you will be inspired by Corrie's determined nature to make sure she does what is right by everyone she cares for, even when things are against her.

I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of this book & how much I enjoyed it. I wasn’t sure how well I would be able to relate to the farm life, however the emphasis on family loyalty, struck a chord with me and I was instantly hooked. This book had it all—sweet romance, compelling mystery, & insight to the hard choices we make when family is involved! Great read! Highly recommend. 5 stars!

Corrie Lancaster leaves the life she had built for herself and returns to the family farm after a tragic accident leaves her dad with a brain injury and unable to man the farm. It’s harvest time when Corrie returns, however she is short staffed—that is until the Tuttle brothers step up & offer to help run the farm. Luke Tuttle, was “the one” in Corrie’s mind, until he left her broken-hearted. Corrie is still angry & hurt and the way Luke ended the relationship and is having a hard time putting the past behind her. Luke’s older brother Aaron, is a rock and seems to be there every step of the way for Corrie, regardless of the circumstances. While there is no denying the attraction between the two, Corrie isn’t sure if she can put her heart in the hands of another Tuttle and trust that she won’t end up devastated once again. Excellent read! Highly recommend.

This reminded me a bit of "A California Christmas" from Netflix because the setting is on a farm, and the heroine is in charge of the farm. The similarities end there.

The characters were well developed, especially Corrie since she's not perfect and she showed it. There was a time when strayed from God due to grief and she has a tragic history in her teens.

I'd just like to note that I didn't read the description because I don't want any preconceived notions. I want to be surprised and so I initially thought this was a second-chance romance. It was, in a way.

I like how the romance part was presented, there were secondary characters, and I felt the closeness of family and their love for each other.

Corrie has too much pride to ask for help and it took someone to take care of her.

Aaron, the older brother of Corrie's ex developed feelings for her and it was reciprocated. There were trying moments but he didn't give up and he showed his love through his actions. He's 10 years her senior and always made fun of his age but their chemistry was perfect.

It was a light read.

Fantastic book!!! I am so glad I picked up this book to read and I was hooked from page 1. This contemporary romance had such a great story and message, clean, enjoyable and I can totally relate to the characters, especially Corrie.

Corrie is hard working daughter on the Lancaster Family farm. Sun up to sun down, harvesting what she can to help save her family farm. She has past hurts...a broken heart from long ago that she is trying to forget and the heart break it ensued. When one of her farming hands quits, she is desperate to find some help. The help offered is none other than Aaron, Tuttle, who happens to the other brother of a boy Corrie dated long ago, Luke Tuttle. Sparks fly between Aaron and Corrie but with caution. While Corrie is trying to keep her family together, help out someone in need who also need and someone from the past also revenge. Will Corrie be able to manage everything on her plate and also choose between Luke, her past love or Aaron, who is there when she needs him the most?

This story is all about past hurts, new love, and forgiveness....and flowed so easily. I couldn't put the book down. What a great read!!

I'll start off by saying that the amount of faith, despite all the things that Corrie, Aaron, Luke, Violet, and all the other amazing folks in this novel go through, is really incredible. I have never been one to really look to the higher ups, whomever they may be, to get me through the tough times, but after reading this, I can certainly see the mentality behind doing so. Truly, the writing in this novel was very well done, had a great touch of mystery, romance, and family.

I really enjoyed the character building, and found it fairly easy to relate to Corrie and her need to keep the farm afloat, as well as the struggles she went through in the past. The only thing I found difficulties with, is that the past seemed to stick right where it was, and decisions were being made based on such over and over again, which seemed a bit overdone. That being said, everything else was phenomenal, and it just proves that if you have the right people by your side, you can get through anything! I do recommend giving this a read, it will give you the tingles and make you feel as though you can overcome anything!

With her family falling apart, Corrie comes home to run the farm. Her father was in a car accident, her mother's not dealing well with him, and the farm has been in some trouble due to drought and falling grain prices. Luke, her former boyfriend, the one who broke her heart, is now the pastor at the church in this small, close-knit community. Luke's brother, Aaron, comes home to help on his family farm when their brother is killed in Afghanistan. When her farm hand quits, Aaron starts helping her out with the harvest, and she quickly realizes which brother she's in love with. The book is a beautiful story of family, faith and community, healing and forgiveness, and new beginnings. This is such a giving family, taking in Violet when she's pregnant with no where to go, giving her a home, making sure that she feels like she's part of them. This is my first read from this author, and I'm looking forward to more.

While I'm a Christian, I sometimes have a hard time with religious fiction. The books often feel forced or contrived to me so I'm always a little hesitant when I begin reading one. Well, let me reassure you that Amber Waves of Grace is nothing like that. Christian elements? Yes, but it was all left up to me as to how I felt. Well done Jessica!

As far as the story goes, it is a heartwarming and beautifully touching story of a woman who gives up her dreams to save her family when tragedy strikes. It truly captured my heart. I loved that the characters were so well written and even allowed to be realistic and flawed.

As far as worldbuilding goes, Jessica has an amazing gift for the use of descriptive narrative. Mixing up things such as love, insecurities, faith, mistakes, forgiveness, birth, death, hard work and a dollop of laughter, she has truly created a masterpiece - an incredibly emotional, raw, heart-wrenching yet delightful story that I adored.

This is the first book that I have read from this author. I love a good slow burn love story but this book exceeded all my expectations. I fell in love with these characters right from the start. I could not put this book down until the end and it only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story.

Corrie Lancaster was loving her life in South Dakota. She has her dream job as an amazing newspaper reporter. Corrie was feeling like she was on top of the world until she found out that her father was in a serious accident. She rushes back to her hometown to help her dad. Corrie now has a lot of work to do because the only person who knows what to do quits on her. She doesn’t want to take any help from her ex’s brother but she has no choice. Corrie is getting the hang of things but life throws another curve ball. She gets an unexpected visitor that needs a place to stay so she lets him. Corrie is getting to know the men and then trouble starts to happen. Will Corrie find out who is causing the trouble and why? Or will the damage be already done?
