FINALLY!
Any reader who has already read this book will know what I mean by my headline...all others will have to read until the end to discover what I mean. It was delightful.
Once again Riley has been called to solve two murders but is there a connection? Is this a serial? Bill is on leave so Riley and Jen head to Philadelphia to find out. Timing is bad for Riley as the girls daughters are fighting and Jen seems off her game. Then Jen disappears leaving Riley a note saying "Riley I'm Sorry" leaving Riley to track down this killer on her own. And then the unthinkable happens and Jen resigns from the FBI. Oh and did I mention that Blaine broke it off with Riley? Lots of twists and turns in this story and as usual Blake delivers a well done mystery.

Oh my goodness! Installment 16 is filled with so many surprises, twists and turns, and the totally unexpected! I can't wait to start Number 17. Riley and Jenn are sent to Pennsylvania to investigate a possible series of murders. Someone is killing people and stealing, of all things, dining room chairs. The connection seems impossible to figure out. From the onset, Jenn is disagreeable, confrontational, and obviously just wants to wrap this up and go home. Riley's long-time partner is on mandatory leave due to a justified shooting in the previous installment so once Jenn just up and leaves, Riley is left on her own. While investigating these murders, she ends up solving a long ago cold case. There wasn't much of Riley's personal life interference in this book, which was a bit refreshing for me. Just when it totally matters, Bill is sent in to finish up this case with Riley. The last page is the cliff hanger here! I mumbled to myself "it's about time!"

This one started off with me thinking oh not again. Not another book of a whiny agent who thinks they know everything instead of just doing the work! But it did turn around! The case enough was crazy! A murderer breaks into people's homes and steals a kitchen chair from their homes! Riley reaches out to her psychologist friend to help make sense of it all. He gets her back on the right track to make sense of it all. Little does Riley know, she had become a target!
This book adds a good amount of personal life mix in to her case. It definitely ends with quite the cliff hanger. I can't wait to read the next one.

I think you can't be mad with someone that is inside a survivor's guilt loop: they are suffering and it can get really but really deep and not always the person can or want professional help.
With that this book was really god but a wished for more: Riley's instinct was not working (obvious since it was a very complex situation for the killer); her family was very quiet and love life? well... not surprising how it ended.
The end of this one? I screamed a loud "YES" :D

I recieved this in exchange for my honest opinion my opinion is completely my own
The Riley Paige series are my favorite series from Blake Pierce Riley is an amazing FBI agent along with her partners Bill and Jen everyone I have read have all had me reading every last page and this one was no different the way he writes his characters are amazing he never disappoints and this one was no different

Once again Riley is as tough as ever, even with family issues. The old charecters keep the thriller rolling along and Blake as usual has made Riley a most significant person of interest. She remains one of my two most important books to read. Thank you Blake.

Excellent AGAIN!
Gripping but emotional at the same time. I really feel I know Riley personally and worry about her decisions in life. The author portrays the conflict between professional woman and mother which will resonate with many females although thank goodness only a small minority will experience the life and death trials Riley becomes involved with. Can't get enough!

Same format which I must say is getting a little old...Riley solves crime, Riley gets in trouble with the Bureau, Riley struggles with her kids, Riley struggles with her love interest, Riley gets on a serial killer’s radar. However, for some reason it works I guess because I’ve listened to all 16 of them!

I just loved this one!
The killer was a bit different but the best part was her daughters. And Jenn's weird behavior.
The ending is one I've been waiting for since the beginning. Finally!
Better get started, from book one if you haven't already. These are so addicting. They are exciting and unputdownable!

The best series I've ever read.
The characters were extremely well developed. The plots were consistent, twisty and robust. Well worth the effort. I am anxious to read the last book!

Great story with an engrossing plot. There were a couple of twists I didn't really care for so we will just see what happens! I'm looking forward to the release of the next book in this series.

I enjoyed this installment, but it was middle-of-the-road for the series. I'm interested to see where the characters go from here, though .

Sorry, Ms. Pierce, but this book barely had a plot, and the plot it did have was tiresome--can Riley just do the job rather than always be a victim? It felt like this one just should have been left out all together.

Great book
I haven’t read a Blake Pearce book for about six months and it was such a joy to be back with my old favorite characters. Reilly page is awesome. This was one of his better ones

The case for this book was uneventful. Jenn leaving didn't add up or make any sense at all. No FBI agent would mail their gun and badge through the mail. She would have left it when she left in the middle of the case. This whole series is a roller coaster. Some books are decent. Others are not.

The writing for the parts connected to the actual murders and murderers is always great. The actions, conversations of the main/continuous characters is always just par and many times unbelievable.

Enjoyed this one, except for the long monologues of "poor, pitiful me" from Riley. Glad to see Jen and Blain exit the story line.
