A new take on wolf-shifter lore, mystery, danger, and a steamy “Why Choose?” romance awaits in “The Binding Eye”, the first Book of the Havenacht Chronicles.
Brecht Adelwulf is running out of time. Havenacht holds painful memories and forbidden secrets, not to mention Wulfvinderen, families dedicated to keeping wulven kinships like his own in line. But, it will take more than his usual stoic resolve to uncover why he was called back to the town of his birth. He must put trust in a foreign researcher and a sworn enemy if he hopes to make it through the next full moon with his sanity, and family, intact.
When mythology and folklore researcher Carina Silver takes a temporary research position in the coastal Dutch town of Havenacht, she finds herself playing a role in a centuries old worth of old secret that comes to life as the moon grows full.

I loved the unique werewolf mythology in THE BINDING EYE! When folklore researcher Carina Silver travels to the small Dutch town of Havenacht the last thing she expects is to find herself pulled into a centuries old secret and the possibility that werewolves are real. Complicating matters are her growing feelings for the sweet Alexander Roedelvolger and the mysterious Brecht Adelwulf -- two men at odds with each other.
I was pulled into this story right away and swept up in the fast pace and the building suspense. The werewolf origins and mythology that Morrison has created were so interesting and new; and while I sometimes was a little bit confused I can't deny how captivated I was.
Carina, Alexander, and Brecht were all really likable characters and I enjoyed the way they came together to solve this mystery and forge a new path forward for their different groups. Alexander becomes a gentle and safe place for Carina while Brecht is more wild but also weighed down by his responsibilities. Carina herself was fearless, noble, and smart and I loved that she goes after what she wants and doesn't let anyone tell her she doesn't deserve it.
By the end of the book I felt like Carina's relationship with Alexander was a bit stronger so I'm curious to see if the relationship with Brecht grows more in book 2. And since the mystery isn't completely resolved I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.
I couldn’t put this book down. I finished it in 2 days! Steamy romances, hidden worlds, and mysterious characters kept me up way past my bedtime. The world building was fantastic and the intrigue the author wove into her story left me yearning for more. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
I'm not an avid reader of romance novels, however I couldn't put this story down. Dani Morrison's descriptions of bucolic scenery are so lively, I almost felt that I was in Havenacht. I most enjoyed how this author was able to signal a shift in time and perspective without confusing the reader. It added to the intrigue of the story.
...and for the record, Ms. Morrison *knows* how to construct a graphic love scene. You will not be left wanting after you read this book. I can't wait to read what Dani Morrison comes out with next.
