The heroine(s):Presley - determined not to give hunter a second chance. Presley is working with Hunter on a project/treasure hunt and she is doing her best not to fall for him again. He walked away from her once, choosing a job over her and she is afraid he hasn’t changed.
The Hero(s):Hunter - a famous adventurer, he once left Presley and did his best to forget about her. Ten years later he can’t stop thinking about her and now that he is working with her, he is determined to start things up again.
The Story: Presley and Hunter are on a treasure hunt and they are getting closer with every love letter they find. The letters are romantic and bring up feelings they thought were long buried. They live and work thousands of miles apart and don’t think they can make things work, but want to try.
The narration keeps getting better, Scott Eastwood was a bit stilted in book one, getting betting in book two and in this one was even better. Of course I could be getting more used to him as I go, but I think he has improved quite a bit. Andi Arndt was brilliant as usual, she has a great voice and perfect cadence.
I really enjoyed where this story went and how the characters grew and overcame their obstacles. And the treasure turned out to be even better than they had hoped.
I came to a bit of a realisation while listening to the third instalment of P.S. It's Always Been You. I realised I shouldn't judge someone else's love story as wrong. Obviously, I know this already, but it's easy, as a reader/listener, to be judge and jury when the characters are not doing what you want them to do. I wanted these characters to put love in front of their careers. I wanted him to put Presley first. I wanted Presley to accept nothing but the best from Hunter.
With Presley and Hunter, I struggled to understand their dynamics. She was so understanding when it came to his adventurous spirit. Presley would not want him to give up his career and his travels. Now, if I was in her position, I'd be telling him to grow up and stop being so self-centred. Now with him, I struggled with his ability to walk away, jump out of planes risking his life and know that his loved one would be worried about him. Again, I'd be all...how could you leave me????
But, it obviously works for other people.
I guess what I'm trying to say in a very long-winded way, is that while this story was not my love story, it would probably be perfect for other readers. I sometimes forget that there are people in the world who don't want their loves to be in each other's pockets. So, maybe P.S. It's Always Been You could be perfect for you.
From a listening perspective...Andi Arndt does a fabulous job as per usual, but unfortunately, Scott Eastwood's narrating wasn't my favourite.
I liked this story, but I have to admit that it wasn't perfect for me.
The last installment in this little series was everything I hoped for story-wise. We continue to follow Hunter and Presley on their scavenger hunt that makes both of them realize that love is worth fighting for. I said after the first part that I hope that Hunter finally puts Presley first. And he came through in a big way, grand gesture and all.
Overall I really enjoyed their love story and it's so fitting that we send them into their happily ever after in the week of love. I adored the epilogue and I think we can expect a story about Hunter's friend Trevor which I'm really looking forward to! I do think that making this a three part story and releasing them with just enough time between parts to lose the story's dynamic did the story a disservice. The drive was taken out of it.
All the narrators did an excellent job, although I still think Scott needs some practice to make some of his narration sound a little more natural and fluid but I'm not mad that I got to listen to him. We get a little Zach Webber and Saskia Maarleveld cameo again and they do a lovely job and really add to the experience.
The story lost a little steam for me in this installment. I think part of the problem was that I listened to these installments as they were released so I had to wait a week after the second installment to get this one. They are all available at this point so readers have the option of listening to each installment immediately after each other.
This did wrap the story up nicely. It was nice to learn the history of the couple who wrote the letters and to find out what was really going on with the hunt to find the letters. Hunter and Presley are able to figure things out and I was satisfied with how everything ended.
I thought that all four narrators did a great job with this story. I really like that four narrators were used for this story and I think that each voice really suited the characters that they represented. I do think that I liked this story more because I was able to listen to the audio version.
I would recommend this series to anyone that enjoys contemporary romance. I don't feel like it was necessary to split the book up into three installments and actually feel like it was a mistake. Overall, it was a satisfying romance.
I received a copy of this audiobook from Audible Studios.
Initial Thoughts I have to say that I think it was a mistake to break this book into 3 parts. It was unnecessary and having to wait a week to pick up the story again took away all of the book's momentum. Now that all three parts are out in the world, readers will not be forced to wait as I was but it still felt like the only reason to split the book up like they did was money.
The story picks up right where the last part left off. The characters were good and I liked getting to know more about the couple in the letters. I am glad that the story came to a nice conclusion.
The final instalment of this story has Hunter and Presley reaching the end of their treasure hunt. I think this was my favourite part of the story.
They also realise their love for each other again. Theirs is not a heart pounding, soul searing love but one that is right for them.
Hunter eventually realises that he has to make sacrifices if he wants to be the woman he loves and I think it was about damn time he put Presley first.
I just loved this three part audio. Sizzling couple, an old love story re-discovered, a new one allowing an old one to finish. Three part hunt through history and old letters, finishing with a Valentine's Day ending, which was hidden at the center of the story.
Yes. The cutest conclusion to this series. Honestly I loved both the aspect of the mysteries of the treasures they were looking for as well as Presley and Hunter also finding their own love. It was perfect and I loved how they both intertwined. This series was seriously adorable and I loved it a lot.
The story had so much potential but felt flat in so many ways. Both of the main characters were annoying and hard to connect with, and the chemistry was just not there. The Scott Eastwood narration is plain bad. Overall a fast listen but not that great.
Yes it was perfect, I needed this so much. All the conversations, discoveries and secrets come out like they had to. Pleasant and enjoyable listening to chear you up. The fairly tail concluded just perfect. It is so nice to look also to your love onces. And no one can disctruct you like you true love.
The conclusion was good, and had a bit of fun surprises to it. And not just that, I liked that it was pretty realistic in how the two dealt with challenges that came up in their relationship. Not overly dramatic, although there may have been a first thought for each, but both quickly realized that being together was important not how they did it. I loved the way that Hunter came to his realization, and that he was able to be there for Presley and put her first. Once again though, Scott Eastwood’s narration left a lot to be wanted for this audiobook. His voice, great, his performance still bad. Like when I’d have middle school boys read aloud. Yeah, that bad.
Ahh ok, this mini series was off to a rocky start for me, but Lauren always brings it home. I enjoyed this last installment of Hunter and Presley's love story. It really did come full circle and second chances are my all time favorite kind of stories.
I love the way the treasure hunt brought them back to each other. That it wasn't just one thing but it was a combination of people and things that showed them the right path.
I adored the ending it was prefect.
Now I know I gave Scott a little bit of a heard time with the narration in the first two books but that is just because I like him so, and his voice is lush. Yes I did have to speed him up a little but still very enjoyable and I hope he continues reading us romance. Andi was great as always.
For the conclusion of the mini series of “P.S. It’s Always Been You,”, I found myself more invested in the secondary story than the main plot. What truly brought everything together for me were the love letters between the Silver Blade and the Pink Ribbon Girl. This storyline was like the string that finally held those scattered pearls together. Even if I didn't care for some of the other plot points, the overarching message of this mini-series resonated deeply: "Accept the one you love, and don't try to change them." True change, for a relationship to work, must come from within that person, driven by their own desire to want to make the relationship.
Greta, a circus performer known by her stage name, the Pink Ribbon Girl, is at the heart of this. Her love interest, Edward, raced through college, graduating in a mere 18 months, driven by his desire to rescue Greta from the circus life. He's set to become a banker. The circus itself is run by an unscrupulous owner who withholds wages and manipulates his performers. He weeds out all but those desperate for money, knowing they'll be easier to control. Greta, for her part, is working tirelessly to put her sister through nursing school.
I was genuinely captivated by the lengths Edward went to for Greta. He could have easily walked away after college and never looked back. Instead, she accepted Edward, believed in their love, and in the end, it all worked out, beyond expectations. This profoundly impacted both Hunter and Presley, prompting them to re-evaluate their own relationship and what might be possible for them.
Scott Eastwood's narration greatly improved once his character, Hunter, realized what he truly wanted and finally admitted it to himself.

Meh. This was just ok. I know that these were supposed to be short and just light and fun, but it just didn't live up to it's full potential. I did like the fact that these letters are protected by a secret society that decide on it's next recipients. I wish there were more endearing qualities like that sprinkled throughout the story.
If you are looking for a really good, real adventure type story, I HIGHLY recommend looking into East of Redemption by Molly E. Lee. I adored it. Go give that a try if this has your adventure juices flowing.
3.5! it was sweet and fun but i hate that it was split into 3 parts/3 different books. it continued on with the chapters and it was just frustrating to listen to. the narrators were great but i hated having to download the next book instead of just going on. my attention wasnt hanging on as strongly.
A great finish to a trilogy that completes the story of a man and women who were pulled apart by life decisions when they were young and thrown back together a decade later with a second chance. I really enjoyed how each book in the trilogy just picked up where the last one left off. Great narration to bring the characters to life and add that punch of fun to an already good plot! Kudos! Well worth the listen and definitely listen to all 3 in order!
Free in the Audible Plus Catalog! Number 3 out of 3 parts. Mystery treasure hunt. Second chance romance. An old love story to inspire a new one. Choosing one another in the face of dreams. It was adorable. Fun short reads!
If I start saying what I loved about this part, I would give away too many spoilers. I love that they ended up together. Even though at the start I was thinking, "Girl, why are you doing this?" I'm really happy for them. I loved the whole mystery about the love letters, the story behind them, and their resolution, as well as the ending. I would love to be part of something like that.
Overall 3.5 stars Performance 4 stars Story 3 stars
This was a sweet conclusion to Hunter and Presley's story. I loved how it brought all the players together to solve the mystery. The story had a lot of promise overall, but being broken into parts made it a little too choppy for me. I love second chance romances, but never really felt the fire re-ignite between Hunter and Presley. There was a lot going on in the story in order to solve the mystery, and even though it centered around love, I felt like Hunter and Presley's love story got a bit overshadowed. This was still an entertaining story though and of the 3 parts, this was my favorite.
The narration was good, but not my favorite. Scott Eastwood seemed to be better in this installment, but it was still difficult at times to distinguish who was speaking since he didn't have a lot of variety between characters. I do believe that he could one day be a great narrator though since he does have a pleasant voice. The cameos by Saskia Maarleveld and Zachary Webber were a fun treat as well. Andi Arndt definitely carried this audiobook though and I continue to be impressed by her range and versatility.
This is a 3 part free audiobook with audible subscription.
m/f 2nd chance romance. I actually really liked this! 🥰
She’s an art historian trying to make it in her career, he is an adventurer turned celebrity - think Bear Grylls but sans the drinking your own urine, eating bear shit and sleeping in animal carcasses 🤣
One time lovers who knew their time together had an expiry date are unexpectedly thrown into an unlikely work project together 10 years later. They are doing a documentary cataloging the estate of a long dead adventurer that was rumoured to have a hidden treasure. They end up finding a trail of hidden love letters, and embark on a hunt with clues that the adventurer and his wife left for their children to find…
I thought I’d wait and finish all three parts before writing this reviews.
I absolutely loved this second chance romance series.
Hunter and Presley (having previously dated) are now assigned to work together, Hunter; for his TV programme and Presley to help her with her writing career.
This second chance romance is Hunter and Presley needing to work together, learn about a past love story and work on what’s happening in the present as well as the future.
This #3 of the series is probably the cutest of the 3. It’s pretty sweet how all of the secrets are revealed, and how the romance takes a more sincere path to committed love. Some of the dialogue was still cringey, but I always like the part of the happily ever after. The Secret Society of the Valentine’s Night Love Letters was actually a charming twist on the mystery that unfolded. By the end I was more enamored with the characters and the story, so I got the ebook to be able to catch some parts that I had missed on audio. I think maybe I’d recommend the book over the audio. But the audio definitely made it easy to get through the story quickly.
