All’s fair in love and blogging...or is it?

Bookshop owner, Georgie Jensen, is done with shallow jerks. Her Own the Eights blog dishes out advice on how to steer clear of egotistical creeps only concerned with looks and status. Her focus is finding one’s true soulmate—not the superficial ten but the solid, reliable eight.

Jordan Marks is the city’s top fitness trainer who won’t settle for anything less than the best. His blog promotes working hard, playing harder, and striving to always be—you guessed it—a ten.

When these two opposites are forced to team-up for an online competition, opinions clash and mouse pads fly.

The twist? There can only be one winner, and if Georgie wants to keep her shop open, that winner needs to be her.

But the more time this eight and this ten spend together, the more they learn that, when it comes to love, a number might not be what matters the most.

Georgie and Jordan’s story begins with Own the Eights, the first book in the Own the Eights Series. While this book can be read as a standalone, the series follows Jordan and Georgie as they navigate the ups and downs of love with sizzling chemistry and witty banter.

Own the Eights is such a fun, sweet, hot enemies to lovers romance. I loved every single moment of this book!

After being told she was only an eight that started something for Georgie, aka a blog to show that eights are perfect. Jordan is a ten, he thinks he can help everyone be a ten from his blog. However, when him and Georgie are in a competition that would help them both out, they are forced to work together. Can an eight and a ten work together?

I loved Georgie. She was real, she was fun, she was living her best life. Plus, the woman owns a bookstore, how can you not love that?! She took everything in stride and had a great mentality that she would relay to everyone who follows her blog. Jordan took some time to get used to. He first comes across as a major jerk, the stereotypical ten, but the more you got to know him and his story the more he steals your heart. The chemistry between Georgie and Jordan was great. They started out as enemies, as competitors both trying to win, but things quickly progressed and they both realized there was more to each of them that meets the eye.

Own the Eights is another great addition to all the previous books that Krista has written and a MUST READ! If you’re looking for a fun, enemies to lovers rom com this is definitely one to check out!

This isn’t your typical meet cute, guy meets girl and they fall hopelessly in love! No this is sooo much more than that! This is an angsty story of guy meets girl, girl yells at guy, guy yells at girl and the universe thinks it funny to stick them together to win a competition! They’re complete opposites in every way and they clash instantly! There’s a thin line between love and hate and these two love skipping over that line time and time again!!

Georgiana and Jordan have processed the pains of their past differently! Though both are successful and thriving as much as one can they find themselves discovering new things about themselves together! Each time a part of them is revealed they both realize that they aren’t as opposite as they once thought! They are the perfect mix for one another but when Jordan’s “truths” are revealed can Georgie stick around? Will Jordan be able to show her who he really is and love her as she deserves?

I enjoyed this book from start to finish. With a trifecta like the one Georgie has rooting her on how can you not love this big hearted quirky woman! She loves her life as her own and makes no apologies! I laughed so hard and this is one book I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The heat factor of off the charts! I was fanning myself almost each chapter! Especially because Jordan is WOW all caps because the man can melt just about anything with his positive personality and swoon worthy smile! Plus just when you think he’s as shallow as they come he shocks you with his heart of gold and wins you over with each act of chivalry!

Prepare to laugh, like hold-your-belly-and-spew-your-drink laugh, and have your heartstrings manipulated as if they’re in the hands of a harpist virtuoso. I’ve been lucky enough to find several authors to trust with my romantic heart, and this is one who never fails to deliver. I can 1-Click her books with confidence, knowing that that my reading experience will be a wonderful, euphoric ride.

When a superficial, spoiled little rich boy who Georgiana Jensen thought liked her told Georgie she was an eight, at best, it was a wake-up call. It spurred the indie bookstore owner to start a blog, Own the Eights, that has helped numerous readers focus on the attributes that really matter in finding a soulmate. Now the wildly popular CityBeat website wants Georgie in their contest to find a new paid contributor. Georgie is up against the perfectly plastic lifestyle blogger twins, Danny and Danielle, and Mr. Ten Fitness Trainer himself, of Mark's Perfect Ten Mindset blog, Jordan Marks. What’s an eight to do against all that perfection? Well, Georgie owns her eight-ness, of course.

Georgie is a complicated lady. Sure, she's kind and intelligent, and happy with her bookstore and blog, but there's so much more to her than seen at first glance. Her mother is a piece of work, with a capital W, and her inner dialog is channeled through three admirable fictional heroines, likely a product of her late father's love of books which he passed on to her. But if she can win this contest, she’ll be able to pay her bills and expand her bookstore.

Jordan is a ‘roid infused version of complicated. Through the help of his mentor and idol, he's come a long way, making himself into a perfect ten in every aspect of his life, but his past insecurities are always lurking around the corner. If he wins this contest (which he WILL win, because a ten never loses), he can open his own fitness gym, but he has to figure out how to work together with Georgie in the meantime.

I adore these two characters! Every minute of their journey is heartfelt and hysterical with a nice dose of steam added in. Their push and pull is delicious and put my emotions through the wringer. They're both so much more than they seem, and I loved watching them become better versions of themselves. The secondary characters are quirky and colorful, and I can’t wait for the chance to return to this book world. In a sea of decent and okay romance novels, this one is easily more than any number, so don’t pass up the chance to fall in love with the endlessly endearing and oh-so memorable Georgie and Jordan!

So adorably sweet and sexy! I love that when I start a book by Krista Sandor, I know exactly what I'm going to get - a light, fun, and steamy story with characters who might take a little while to grow on me. And that is exactly the case here. When I first started reading Own the Eights, it wasn't particularly easy to connect to either of the leads... but that's all intentional. These are two people who have let past hurts dictate their current actions, leading to some misguided philosophies about life. As the story moves forward, these two learn and grow, making them much easier to love.

The story follows Georgie and Jordan, two bloggers who are finalists in a competition. They both write about life and love, though they do it in very different ways. Once told that she's an 8 at best by a guy who seemed too good to be true, low-maintenance Georgie preaches that women should seek out an 8 because the 10s will only disappoint you. As a teen, Jordan was picked on because of his scrawny frame, so he's changed his whole lifestyle in order to strive to be the perfect 10. Georgie and Jordan don't see eye to eye, but they're paired up anyways, and all of their bickering/bantering leads to a connection neither one saw coming.

If you're looking for a light and sexy read with the tension you get from an enemies to lovers romance (without all of the heaviness), that's exactly what you'll find with Own the Eights. These characters grow and change along the way, but Sandor doesn't linger on the angst. I loved that there was a definite enemies to lovers vibe in what is very much a rom com - that definitely helped build the chemistry. It's sexy and a little steamy, and though you might not love Jordan at the start, he'll win you over by the end. I considered rating this 4 stars because the characters were slow to grow on me, but then I realized that was the intention all along. Looking forward to seeing what's next from this series! I received an ARC via Give Me Books and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sexy rom com.

I was granted an ARC for a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I tried so hard to read this book as slow as I could, but Krista has a way of sucking you in a making you savior her books as if it were your last sip of water or wine! This book was so good, it was funny, sad, someone conquered their fear while someone else took the stage in a PG-13 rated Flashdance Maniac scene.

“I should probably use my supreme asshat status to let you know that seventeen BC is calling, and they’d like their sandals back.”

Georgiana Jensen aka Georgie decides to start about a blog after being told she is only an 8 and should aim for an 8 as well. Own the Eights, why date a ten when you should marry eight was born overnight. However, she has to run against another two blogs to get $10,000 and an even bigger platform for her blog.

“Why does everything seem so possible when I look into those damn beautiful eyes of yours?”

Jordan Marks has been working for his mentor for the past 10 years. After starting his blog and gaining a ton of followers, he is hoping to win the money and the bigger platform. The Marks Perfect Ten Mindset was Jordan’s pride and joy. After being informed of having to complete challenges with Georgie, Jordan is determined to win at all cost, because a ten always finishes.

“This hippie skirt-wearing, Birkenstocks loving, cardigan donning bookseller beauty queen has peeled back the layers he’s constructed to shield his heart from his past.”

I am trying so hard to tell you what happens in the book without giving out all the good stuff, but it is so damn hard. Georgie is a freaking hoot, I love how honest she was written. As much as most women claim we are tough and don’t care what others say, the truth is we do care. Georgie was tough and didn’t care what Jordan thought of her Jesus sandals. Side note….I didn’t know vegan cookie dough was produced at all. Jordan…I didn’t realize until reading this book I kind of dig the not so nice guys. I mean he isn’t the worst guy I have ever read. I love how Krista wrote as an alpha vulnerable man. I mean this is a first for me. He experienced a lot in the short time they were together. Seriously Krista is the only author I have read that have written such good animal scenes that I laugh-cry with every one I read!

I seriously can’t wait for the rest of this series to come out. I love a good enemies to lovers romance. I highly recommend this book.

“Nothing is worth winning if it means losing you.”

**Synopsis:**
Georgie has a blog called “Own the Eights”, which helps people weed out the superficial aspects of dating to ensure they have a deeper level of connection.
~ ”Her plan boiled down to this, write out the ten qualities you’d want in your ideal mate, then cross off the two that had anything to do with physical perfection. Now, you had your eight substantive qualities to seek out in a significant other.”

Jordan has a blog called “Marks Perfect Ten Mindset” which is based on the principles that failure is not an option, you always finish what you start, and in every facet of your life, always be a ten.

Both Georgie and Jordan have entered a blog contest with a grand prize of $10,000. Georgie wants to use the money to keep her bookstore open and Jordan wants to use the money to open up his own gym. When each is called to CityBeat, they are surprised to learn they haven’t actually won yet but must work together to compete against another team in the CityBeat “Battle of the Blogs” contest. Neither is happy about it, but they are willing to do whatever is necessary to achieve their goal.

** The following are my thoughts about this book: **
* * there’s nothing wrong with being an 8, so honestly I thought Georgie should’ve been flattered rather than offended. I was expecting the guy to say she was a 5 based on his level of disgust, so when he said an 8 and she got upset I was surprised. I mean, I would jump up and down with excitement if someone called me an 8. 😂 So my initial impression of Georgie kind of started off on the wrong foot just because she was offended she wasn’t viewed as a 10. An 8 still puts her high above the “average” population, so take it as a compliment and move on.

* * Jordan’s relationship with his mentor took a turn that didn’t make sense. In the beginning, Jordan went on and on about how this guy changed his life and he looked up to him and respected him. Then, wham….the guy starts being a dick. It’s like the author decided a bad guy was needed, so she changed this character to fit into the bad guy role. Jordan had known this guy for years, so if he was such a dick it seems like Jordan would have seen those signs long before now. So this just felt like an odd shift in a character that had already been established.

* * there was just a little something lacking in the connection between Jordan & Georgie. Their transition from competing against each other / not liking each other / not appreciating the value of each other‘s blogs, to their attraction just felt a little disconnected.

* * once the H/h had a little more depth (i.e. the insight into the relationship between Georgie and her mother, and the aspects of bullying that Jordan suffered through in school) it made them much more relatable and added substance to their characters. Prior to some of their history, they seemed rather shallow

* * the “eights” and “tens” references were a little much.

* * I wouldn’t really classify this as enemies to lovers, because they were on opposite sides of the fence for all of two seconds. So I didn’t really get that strong enemies feeling from this book. I would classify them more as competitors, not enemies.

* * the story was entertaining and no obvious grammatical or spelling errors

This book is the first book that I've read by this author and I thought it was awesome. It's a real opposites attract romance and the story line is great. This book is the first book in this series.

The Own The Eights Series Book #1

Georgie had a real crappy dating experience when this fella Brice insulted her and also said that she was an 8'at best. She decided to write a blog so no other woman had Then make the same mistakes that she had. This is when her blog was born ' Own the Eights ' and it takes of.

Jordan is a real 100% kind of man and he always strives to be always a ten. He's a very determined sort of man and never settles for anything less and he's not a quitter. He has also been friends with Deacon for years after he helped him. Jordan also has a blog ' The Marks Perfect Ten Mindset ' and is also hugely popular.
These two both enter a competition and whatever could go wrong ?
( NO SPOILERS )

I really enjoyed reading this book and loved everything about it from the story line, the characters and this author writing style. I loved seeing how these two characters navigated the tasks that life had set them both and how they could overcome them. Even from the moment these two met they was something between them both and they had a great connection. This was a real enemies to lovers romance that was fabulous to watch. I always love books that have both prologue and epilogue and I feel like it always adds that something extra special to the story.

I'm glad to have found another fantastic author and can't wait to read more of her books especially the next book in this series. I will definitely recommend this book to everyone when it gets released.

Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

This book is expected to be released 19th MARCH 2020.

This was such a cute and fun read that I didn’t want it to end but I loved every second of it. Georgie was a cute and quirky bookstore owner that had been hurt in the past by a guy that was an utter jerk to her. This guy told her she was an eight out of a ten and he needed someone that was a ten to be his eye candy and that just wasn’t her. This hurts her like it would anyone else but instead of feeling down and letting this define her she starts a blog that helps people look past superficial things and look deeper to find their eight. Jordan was hilarious, he is this attractive man who is an avid trainer wanting to help people reach their best potential, he is what one would call an perfect ten, but instead acting like a typical guy would that is a perfect ten he is actually a good guy but he sees that everyone has the potential to be tens. These two are thrown together in a competition where they would both benefit from winning so they are constantly at each other’s throats until they start to wok together and learn more about each other. I loved their constant banter, the funny moments they had together (goat yoga), and when they shop fighting their attraction to each other sparks fly and you realize they are meant for each other. Jordan and Georgie made me laugh and opened my eyes to see how much we as a society judge others so harshly by looks alone and that we should stop and see there is always more than what meets the eye.

Own the Eights de Krista Sandor Serie libro 1

Argumento:

More than just a number

I ALWAYS look forward to reading ANYTHING and EVERYTHING written by Krista. I have NEVER been disappointed, and I certainly am not now either!

This was a great story about Georgiana and Jordan, and about eights and tens… These two wonderfully entertaining and incredibly likeable characters are at constant loggerheads with each other, as they have opposing views on compatability and finding true love. They also have a really intense chemistry and attraction to each other, which they act upon in such an organic way. And then they get back to the disagreeing and arguing. It’s very passionate and loads of fun!

There are some twists and turns, and other interesting characters that add to the depth and entertainment of this story. For the most part, everyone just believes in love, regardless of how they find it, and who they find it with. It’s all very accepting and romantic in it’s ideas.

There’s so much going on, but I don’t want to spoil it for the readers. I do recommend it though, and I am now excitedly waiting for the next book in the series! And the one after that… though I’m sure I won’t want it to end!

Great enemies to lovers story! Georgie owns a book store and is a blogger. Her philosophy is to go for eights rather than a ten, when it comes to a significant other. There is more to it, but basically she is saying perfect is not really perfect. Jordan is also a blogger and the right hand man for his boss at a cross fit center. His philosophy is a perfect ten mindset. These two both need money and enter a competition where they are teamed up against another pair. Through challenges big and small these two develop a relationship. They both have pasts that have made them who they are today, but now they have to let go of some of those ingrained thoughts in order to grow together. As always with Krista Sandor, the writing was great, the story was original, and I loved the characters (not Deacon)! The thing with enemies to lovers is that most of them make me crazy. I don't generally like them. This one did not make me want bang my head against the wall. In fact I had a big smile on my face while reading it. I loved that a relationship developed early on and we were able to see it progress, I loved that the characters were not being contrary for the sake of being contrary. Great read with a wonderful HEA! I was given the opportunity to read a copy of this book.

Sandor has a gift for speaking to the most vulnerable part of a person. Whether with laughter or deep emotion, her stories take aim at involving readers heartfirst before appealing to anything else. Georgie is a character that sets out to make you laugh to cover up the insecurities that hide underneath her smile. Jordan uses realism to shield his own inner feelings of doubt. Own the Eights is more than just a light-hearted romp for laughs. It's a deeply moving pathway of finding truth and living life at it's best. Humor that tackles real emotion is great storytelling.

I think I am still laughing. This book is that funny, which I was not expecting at all. I read the blurb and thought it sounded cute. It is cute and charming and laugh out loud funny. Georgia is such an amazing character. She is an ex beauty queen turned nerdie book worm convinced she is only an eight and determined that's all she needs in life, to find her other eight. Jordan is an equally fantastic character who is an ex nerd comic book lover turned giant brick house of a man who is a personal trainer at a cross fit gym and convinced you should always strive to be a ten. What do you get when you put these two together? Absolute perfection, with off the chart chemistry, some great heat, and a whole lot of laughs. This book will make you laugh, you will read it with a smile on your face and you will absolutely fall in love with Jordan and Georgie. I am so excited this is a series and I do hope we get to see more of the awesome duo!

OMGoodness! I absolutely loved this opposites attract, enemies-to-lovers story! It was adorable, it was charming, and so sweet and sexy!

Georgie was the perfect quirky heroine. Not caring what anyone thinks of her, she dresses and acts how she wants. She’s determined, she’s strong...and more than an eight.

I was smitten with Jordan. Even though he pushes for everyone to be a ten, deep down he has a big, caring heart and he’s not as shallow as some might think.

With so many laugh out loud moments and tons of heart-warming scenes, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Not only was this story fun, it has plenty of sexy times. Georgie and Jordan together were sizzling hot. Their chemistry was strong and I loved how they couldn’t resist each other.

Krista Sandor was a new-to-me author and I look forward to reading more from her!

I couldn't put this book down! If you need a book with a sweet story about opposites/enemies to lovers that will have you laughing out loud and have people around you staring at you like you've totally lost it - LOL then this is the book for you.

Georgie and Jordan kept me glued to the pages and I couldn't wait to see what happened next.

Both run lifestyle/relationship blogs and are paired together to compete for a spot as a contributor to a local online newspaper.

These two on the outside look like complete opposites but as they take challenge after challenge they come to find out that they have a lot more in common than they ever thought.

This book melted me as we see the two turn from enemies to friends then lovers. Such a great book and can't wait for more in the series!

Absolutely loved this book! The characters were fantastic and I easily immersed myself into this story. Lots of laugh out loud moments in this book. When I was dating I actually made a list of qualities I was looking for so I could readily relate to Georgie. Jordan came to realize that “8’s” are really the “10’s” of the world and Georgie came to realize that not all “10’s” are asshats. This book was the perfect 10!

It isn’t often that I IMMEDIATELY despise a main character in a book, only to find that I fell into the author’s masterful trap of judging based on a first impression. And this was indeed a masterful trap. Jordan and Georgie are forced to work together in a competition that they both thought they’d already won, and Jordan definitely appears to be the Emperor that Georgie thinks he is at first. And Jordan does himself no favors by continuing to act like the shallow, vapid, stereotypical deebasaurus that we’re all so afraid he is! But then, he lets the charade drop and we see just what a great, though misguided, person soul lies behind the jerk exterior. I was enthralled with Jordan and Georgie and their fall for each other and couldn’t get enough of either of them. Even when Jordan acts like a typical dumb man, I couldn’t hate him. And that made way for a clever, beautiful HEA.

I continue to be impressed by this author’s ability to create complex characters that I can’t help but love. She blends humor, embarrassment, and romance perfectly and always leaves me hoping that her next release is in the near future. And that’s definitely a good thing.

I have no words good enough to describe how much I loved this book. That’s not cool when I’m trying to convince you to get this book and devote your time to it for a while. I can guarantee you will never be bored reading this.

Georgie has been told rather blunt that she’s an eight at best. It’s hurtful to be considered not dateable even if it’s a perfect prick telling you. To get it out of her system she starts blogging about how to own the eights.

Jordan has been working hard to become a ten. In his early years he was maybe a four, tall, skinny, bullied and insecure. But on the way he has made his own philosophy of how to be the best version of yourself. He’s a winner.

They both think they have won a blog contest but instead they will have to work together to try to beat another team. Then sparks fly and you’ll have a hard time putting the book down to get anything done.

This author is writing sweet and spicy, laugh out loud romance with a twist, a great story, wonderful characters. Sassy heroines and book boyfriends you would love to marry.

This is a delightfully funny and hot romcom. Georgia Jensen is a book store owner and writer of Own the Eights blog. She started this blog after being told by an obnoxious ahole she was an 8 and he only dated 10’s. Jordan Marks is a CrossFit trainer working for his mentor (another obnoxious ahole). He writes a blog Marks Perfect Ten Mindset. These two are contestants to win $10,000 and be a paid contributor to the CityBeat. These two total opposites and are forced to be team members against another team. The sparks fly and so does the attraction factor. Their assignments put them in some funny and very revealing situations. Can these two overcome their differences and realize love is not about the numbers?

First book that I have read from this author and I loved it. Great enemies to lovers story which is one of my favorite tropes. Georgie and Jordan were a great couple. I really enjoyed watching them get together. Great characters and a great storyline that will keep you laughing.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Own the Eights is one of those books that I had a difficult time deciding upon a rating for. This is a solid three-point-five-star rating, where the occasional four-star moments that appeared weren’t quite enough for me to round this one up.

Although Own the Eight hooked me from the start, easily sucking me into the story, I didn’t quite feel the connection between the characters that I had hoped for. It was an entertaining storyline, one that had me giggling a few times, but things were a bit too instalove for me. This, however, is simply a reflection of my personal preference. I favour slow burns over the quick love, and this felt a bit too quick for me.

Even though this wasn’t quite to my taste, I had fun powering through this story.

A light, hilarious book that sneaks feels in on you. It definitely falls into the Rom-Com genre, and will have you literally laughing out loud. It also has an underlying story of self confidence and not getting wrapped up in what everyone else thinks. Be true to yourself. Only you can decide what path is best for you. Georgie owns a bookstore and from the outside may look a little better than average. Jordan is a CrossFit trainer and from the outside looks perfect. There’s so much more to each person. Everyone has a backstory. So don’t judge a book by its cover. Also Georgie has the same exercise mentality that I do so that was awesome. So read the book and go for a meandering walk.

Krista Sandor - this is like RomCom at its best!! I started out laughing (really throughout the entire book) and then the heat level started rising and then moved to swooning over Jordan and Georgie. I can not even express how much of a fun read this book is. The sarcastic banter between these two was epic. Loved it. I always know i will get a fantastic story when reading a Krista Sandor book! Snatch this book up but beware if you are drinking anything that it doesn’t come spewing out your mouth because the laughing is guaranteed.
