Tom Greer Thrillers #2

Blood of My Kin

"A swank resort in North Carolina. A shanty in South Africa. A ritzy condo in Cabo. What do all these places have in common? They're the latest locales where I feel the raw end of destiny's spear... Sorry. That sounded melodramatic. My bad. I get excited. I'll save the soliloquies for my next Shakespeare ensemble. What I was trying to say is: Are you ready for Round Two?" - Tom Greer

C. G. Cooper is the USA TODAY and AMAZON BESTSELLING author of the CORPS JUSTICE novels, several spinoffs and a growing number of stand-alone novels.

One of his novels, CHAIN OF COMMAND, won the 2020 James Webb Award presented by the Marine Heritage Foundation for its portrayal of the United States Marine Corps in fiction. Cooper doesn't chase awards, but this one was special.

Cooper grew up on a steady diet of Dungeons & Dragons and the travels of a Navy family.

Upon graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Foreign Affairs, Cooper was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps and went on to serve six years as an infantry officer. C. G. Cooper's final Marine duty station was in Nashville, Tennessee, where he fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle of Music City.

His first published novel, BACK TO WAR, came out of a desire to link back to his time in the Marine Corps. That novel, written as a side project, spawned many follow-on novels, several exciting spinoffs, and catapulted Cooper's career.

Cooper lives just south of Nashville with his wife, three children, and their German shorthaired pointer, Liberty, who's become a popular character in the Corps Justice novels.

Blood of My Kin is the second book in the Tom Greer Thrillers series. This can be read as a standalone, though I would not recommend that as it is a continuation of the first book. There is a lot of violence. This is not your typical C.G. Cooper series, but is consistent with his outstanding writing. This book does end on a cliffhanger setting the stage for the next book in the series. This book (and series) is definitely worth reading and I can't wait for the next book to be released!

I think this is Cooper's best book so far. Full of totally unexpected twists and turns from the first page to the last. It is a can't-put-it-down page turner.

Ever wonder how pretzel dough feels? This book will give you some insight. Tom Greer is a cross between James Bond and Travis McGee. A real man who wants to do what is right but seems to be star-crossed into doing things a little wrong - even if with the best intentions. "Blood" will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions as Tom gets closer and closer to the people who stole his kids and you get a picture of the whole story.

Now is a good time to start this book since you can't go out. You might not be able to put it down until you reach the final chapter!

If this is your first C.G. Cooper book, you absolutely must write to him and tell him how you liked this book, before you get started on his others. You will want to start on the others!

An exciting look through the eyes of Jim Greer

A great follow up to the Greer story. Looking for his children who he had been told were dead, but now knows that they are alive. Greer will do whatever it takes to get them back. His journey involves Cal Stokes and Daniel Briggs help and that of Daniel's Golf pro friend from South Africa. The twists and turns will keep you guessing and when the Admiral gets involved and talking, the plot just goes on to more twists. The story of Caleb and Ella, his children deepens and gives even more twists. Really looking forward to the next book. I recommend this book, you won't be able to put it down!

Blood of my Kin. C. G. Cooper

Tom Greer is trying to find his two children. Kidnapped at an early age. Then he was told they were dead. The bodies of unrecognizable remains are buried in the family cemetery. It was a lie. He is now hunting down and systemically killing the people who took part in this abduction. He now knows his two children are alive and well. Now he has discovered that his own father was behind it all. A retired Colonel. Was it for the children's safety. Three former presidents have knowledge of this incident and it's implications. This is a mystery and action thriller of mega proportions!! Can't wait for book three in this series!!

It started off pretty good, and then I quickly got confused as to what’s the story here, where are we going? The plot wasn’t coming through. Chapter Ten was a waste of time reading. I am now20% into it and it appears to be going nowhere. Now over 30% and I quit. The characters he has in this book do not interest me. The character Tom Greer is no Mitch Rapp, he is a nobody. Sorry Cooper, this one didn’t do it and I no longer continue unless I
Am involved and interested. I won’t kill it with a one but a mediocre 3 at best.

I finished this directly after Tom Greer Thriller #1 so I could keep the flow of his story going. I was not disappointed! There are so many emotions swirling around in this man you find you start feeling the same outrage, anger and determination he is feeling. How does one come back from so much betrayal and lies? Could I have made some of the decisions he made? No. Don't believe I am that brave, but found myself hoping he would find a way to succeed in spite of his choices. The ending? Did not see that coming!!

Blood of my Kin

Another fantastic book by C.G. Cooper, this book is fantastic and will keep you guessing all the way to the end. It will leave you wanting more and wish it would not in. The characters are so real and feel like old friends you want to welcome. So many twist and turns will keep guessing. Tom is a man haunted by his past and will do anything to make things right. Highly recommend this book and can't say enough good things about it.

Sleepless nights until you finish...

Definitely recommend the 2nd in the series - this being my favorite.
Loved all the action and insertion of Trent, Cal and Daniel. Loved the changes between father and son. Roller coaster ride for sure and it looks like we'll more Greed action and maybe Avery and Tom Masterfully written Cooper. Thanks for your kind words to readers as we experience Covid-19.

Great followup for the first in the series.

Been away too long

The problem with C.G.Coopers books is one that affects other great writers, it takes too long to write another brilliant Novell, and takes too short a time to read them.

I find that I am really looking forward to the next great novel being released, but at the same time I don't want to start it as it will go to soon.

Thank you for such a great read, it is always time well spent.

What just happened???

Where to begin? The story jumps around with crazy scenes, no answers any where. His dad has dementia for years and suddenly becomes completely lucid after taking a few pills. No no no. So much does not make sense.
Why was he double crossed on Africa? Why did his kids have to disappear? Who was Patty and why was she killed? Oh I'm just going to stop asking those questions. If there's a 3ed book to this series, I wont be reading it!!

As always, a well written "capture you" part of a series

I like long series, character development, intriguing stories, and ongoing mystery. Mr. Cooper does this very well. Leaving one to wonder what is really happening... And craving that next book in the series to find out, while speculating highly on just what might be.
Mr. Cooper has "captured" me, and I believe, so many others.

Thank you, Mr. Cooper
Another pleasant diversion from reality

Another Homerun from CG Cooper

Not going to spoil it, but if you read the first book in this series, watch out for this rollercoaster ride. It will take you through some highs, curves you can't see around, and dips which are definitely not formulaic. Make sure when you start it you have time to finish. Not sure I can wait for the next book in the series.

Ok, But not His Best.

A!though all the other books by Cooper are page turners, this one tended to slow down, especially when a chapter obscene changed, none of the gaps were ever filled in, or ever answered. Poor plot, and very confusing at times. Hopefully the next one in this series is more fluid, and not disjointed.

Imitation is....

The sincerest form of flattery. These Tom Greer novels are the best of what I like about John Lockes' Donavan Creed. Well written, plenty of short chapters, plot twists and Tom's down home philosophy. I look forward Mr. Cooper to the next installment. You cliffhanger you!

This book was not up to CG Coopers standards. The book did not flow well and was not interesting. I have read all of his books and enjoyed very one of them. I wanted to stop after the first 1/3 of the book. I finished it but was very disappointed with it. Sorry. A very slow read that could not hold my attention.

A adventure of hope

Enjoyed the reunion of Tom, Avery and new friends to help locate his lost children. The love of a child is a driving force for anyone that is a parent. You want them safe, healthy and whole so appreciated Tom’s humor and keeping his eye on what really matters family and country.

colossally stupid

From page 1 I kept hoping it would change to a Cooper Novel. Unfortunately it did not. It is like a bunch of disconnected ideas thrown against the wall and swept into a book. It has definitely killed any idea of reading another. Maybe the author took that drug.

Book one and two

This book was written somewhat differently. The main character actually talks to the reader. At the beginning of book one, you weren't sure what the main character was really about. If he was delusional or what. Both books were good reads. I'm hoping for book three.

Complex, intriguing, absorbing and extremely addictive is how I would describe this latest book from C G Cooper. It had all that a good story should have with an excellent plot and interesting characters. As for the ending well wow! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Another Cooper masterpiece

C.G. Cooper writes novels the way a master craftsman plys his trade. Intricate plot points that reveal a story too intense to put down. Having read all of his work, this novel is at the top of the list for pure enjoyment. Gread read!

Great reading

What would you do if you thought people had killed your children? That is what Tom faced as he tracked down the organization responsible but wait his children are still alive. It is hard to know who to trust and who to turn to in this fast paced story

frustrating & annoying

I found this story so annoying. It really was just so frustrating to read because
It jumped from so many different scenarios. For someone to say this a #5 rated book is to say awful is good.

Cooper Links Tom Greer With Corp Justice

Good mystery overall but the ‘back-and-forth’ of setting background for Greer and explaining his newly found relationship with the members of the amazing Corp Justice series slowed down the action Cooper is known for.

Surprised

Really worth reading! But however, it always leave you wondering about the next book and how it all falls into the other or will there be another of this series? Guess we will find out later. Enjoyed the story and you have to know it's has slot of twists and turns.
