Rate this book
They called him the devil. And she is determined not to be the devil’s captive...

Aditi had her future planned. She would marry her sweet boyfriend, live a simple life, and slowly get over her painful past. If only she had known that her plans would be destroyed the moment she met the devil's gaze.

Known as the devil because of his ruthlessness and brutality, Anirudh Shaurya is the heir to a powerful family who are well-feared and revered in the world of business, crime and politics.

Aditi is expected to accept her marriage, her so-called destiny, but she is determined not to give in.

She would fight the devil.

No matter how much he tries to bend her to his will,

or how dangerous and cold-hearted he is,

or how hard his kisses and passion make it for her.

But the only thing harder than fighting the devil... is to stop from falling in love with him... before betraying him.

The Devil’s Kiss is a standalone contemporary romance.

The Devil's Kiss by M.V. Kasi is the latest romance from the author and it is a delicious treat! I have never enjoyed an anti-hero as much as I did in this one.

Anirudh Shaurya is feared and despite his God-like beauty, no one would ever confuse him of being anyone other than the ruthless mafia king that he is. Aditi has her life planned out. Work, love, marry and then settle down with a few kids. But her life upends for the worse when she is forced into marriage with Anirudh who hates her father and is marrying her to exact revenge on him.

A story with strong protagonists who engage in a battle of wills right from the start, I sat glued to my seat turning pages eagerly. A heroine who is loyal and willing to do just about anything for the people she loves, including getting married to a criminal. A hero who is everything dark, dangerous and ruthless, The Devil's Kiss is full of angst, suspense, scorching romance and a multi-layered story that kept stumping me.

The twists and turns keep coming, and every time the reader will think he/she knows what's going to happen, a new curveball will be thrown!

I never thought I would ever love an anti-hero but this impossibility was made possible by the powerful narration of the author who had me grudgingly fall in love with Anirudh. I swooned, fanned myself, shed tears and then laughed hysterically , so happy was I, when the end arrived.

All in all, The Devil's Kiss by M.V. Kasi is a book that is definitely one of the best reads of 2020 for me and a proud entry in "Njkinny Favourites" list. Well-crafted, professionally edited and with characters that provide not only entertainment but also the soulful satisfaction of being realistic, I give this book 5 out of 5 super shiny stars and Njkinny recommends this romance to all readers above the age of eighteen.

I am so eager to meet Anirudh and Aditi again, and hopeful of reading Shiv and Vijay's, Anirush's two best friends', stories soon.

Go read this book today and checkout all of M.V. Kasi's amazing books. Totally recommended!

My Rating: *****
Type: Standalone
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Mafia Romance, Indian- Anti-hero Romance
Narration: Limited third person
Primary Characters: Anirudh & Aditi
Source: Free in KU

Refreshing, Indianized, beautifully written, captivating story with a gripping narration.

I was looking for some Indianized Romance and picked this as I had read few other books of this author. I could tell author has come a long way in this. It’s extremely well written and wonderfully portraited anti-hero, love story.

As blurb says: Aditi had her future planned. She would marry her sweet boyfriend, live a simple life. Things change when she comes home to seek her father’s blessings to marry her boyfriend. Now she is expected to marry Anirudh Shaurya – Known as the devil because of his ruthlessness and brutality. She is not ready to accept her so-called destiny, but she is determined not to give in.

Anirudh is the heir to a powerful family who are well-feared and revered in the world of business, crime and politics. He is handsome, strong, ruthless and powerful. Aditi is strong willed, determined and adorable. Now they have entered into this marriage head-on. Will she be able to survive the Devil?

There chemistry is intense and sizzling hot. It has lots of twists, turns and enough intriguing suspense. What motives does Devil have in marrying Aditi? Will she ever be able to come out of Devil’s glitches? Is the cost of betrayal too heavy?

Plot is engaging with well-built characters and a gripping narration. Even though narration style seems limited third person, it was almost as good as Dual POV. There are very few secondary characters. Siva seems charming. Vijay as a brooding loyal friend was intriguing, hope to see more of them in some other books. Suki and Keshav were delightful.

This book is one delicious treat you don’t want to miss. Compelling and filled to the brim with mafia goodness. Pick this and enjoy Aditi and Anirudh’s world of crime and power.

Omg. This story literally stole my breath. I absolutely loved it. It’s a different kind of love story. I felt a lot of different emotions while reading it.

Spoilers.

The hero- Anirudh Shaurya aka the devil. Anirudh is bold, handsome, ruthless to his enemies, oozes power In his every move. He is feared by all as he is the mafia head but he also has a totally different side, which you need to read to find out. Lol

Aditi is beautiful , caring and believes in doing the right thing. Aditi is forced to marry the devil when she is love with a different man. Aditi loves her dad but has no idea about his true character and to what extend he will go to save his own life, even if it means killing a loved one.

I found the story to be a roller coaster ride. It has lots of twist and turns and when you think you have figured the story and the ending, it takes a totally different turn. The chemistry between Anirudh and aditi is sizzling hot. Even though aditi hates the devil with all her heart for forcefully marring her, her body has a totally different reaction to his gaze and touch. It’s love and war between them and while anirudh might be the devil to the world, aditi gets to see a totally different side of him at times which confuses her as she can’t figure him out. Aditi wants to bring the mafia king down but what will it cost her?She is dead set to do the right thing, but when her feelings for the devil changes, will she go ahead with it or back out?

A MUST READ BOOK. IF YOU LOVE MAFIA ROMANCE MAKE SURE YOU START IT WHEN YOU HAVE A FEW HOURS TO READ COS ONES YOU START, YOU WONT BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN.

Thank you MV Kasi

I did not like it. I have zero tolerance these days for literally everything and when the MMC’s grandfather insulted the FMC in front of 20 other men and MMC did nothing, I was ready to throw this book out the window.
Still I continued and wished I didn’t because Aditi was a dumb character, the relationship between Aditi and Anirudh was way too underdeveloped, and this is the part I hated the most - Turning the Villain into a good ol’ hero.
Aditi was just blinded with lust and daddy issues. The scene where she shoots him and stuff is plain stupid because if she used a little bit brain of hers, she would’ve realized what the consequences would be of stripping the power of a man with so many enemies. This bitch was like get arrested and basically die and then we’ll live our HEA.
Their relationship was basically him terrorizing her at every moment he got and them having sex. No deep meaning talks no nothing. I got to 70% mark and I was like is this a duet or something because everything was underdeveloped.
I hated how the author turned Anirudh from a most powerful Villain of the country to a hero who wants to end the crime in the country by helping the government. He should’ve stayed dead and Aditi should’ve died after getting consumed by guilt

It is an Indian Mafia Romance. We follow our main female protagonist Aditi Somaraj who lives in London with her maternal Uncle and Aunty and has come to visit her father Mohan Somaraj to India and her visit's agenda is to introduce Rahul to him as her life partner. Her plan was to spend a simple, beautiful life with Rahul in London. But all plans go to waste when she comes to know on the day of the party after her father announces her engagement 💍 to none other than the Devil Anirudh Shaurya.
She met him before the party in a club which is owned by the 3 Devil's. Anirudh had decided that he will marry her when he sees her first. Aditi is not ready for this marriage but her father kind of emotionally manipulates her stating that their lives are in danger as he is a wanted man in the criminal world.
Aditi reluctantly agrees to the marriage and dreads her future with the Devil. She thinks that he will torture her on her first night as her mother is the cause of death of Anirudh's parents. But nothing of that sort happens. Nothing happens in the following days as well. It seems like his strategy of torture will be inflicted when she least expects it. Many days goes by but nothing happens.
Instead she sees a different side of Anirudh which steals her heart, body and soul.
The plot has lot of twists and turns and suspense as well. How the two people get together in face of all odds against them is depicted.
A one time read for all romance lovers.

ADITI. I totally did NOT search for this book by asking chat gpt 'dark romance novels with the fmc as Aditi'. And imagine my surprise when I came around this book- dark, mafia romance, marriage-of-convenience, anti-hero trope! And Aditi already had a boyfriend. Everything I was looking for wrapped in one book. Thank god Anirudh did not take her name while sex, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to proceed with the book. I became strangely defensive about little darkness touching Aditi. When he ripped off her wedding dress, I was horrified.
The major plot-twist was nerve wracking and very unpredictable. Definitely received more than what I had pegged an Indian author to write. Though she never went into explicit details. I kind of wanted to take over and describe it myself, lol. My favourite scene was the last one, in the epilogue- when Anirudh came as Arjun- very naughty.
Aditi reflected me in multiple ways- being curious, bold, courageous, and of course, beautiful. She even wanted three children like me. Though I want a cat and a dog too. And I want much more than a simple life. I want a lavish life.
Overall, the book was nice. But it never addressed the whereabouts of the Home Minister's daughter Sunaina. Nevermind, the author must have forgotten... weird.

I just have one word for it - "Wow". I am not generally a fan of mafia romance. I find it gruesome. But this book was different. Don't get me wrong - this was gruesome but the edge of the seat tension that emanated from each page in this love story was impressive. I spent most of the day in a haze having made the mistake of starting the book in the morning. I finished by the night. I couldn't put it down.
I loved the plot, the intricate details that were sewn in all through.
Anirudh was terrifying and hot at the same time. My feelings alternated between slapping and hugging him and trust me when I say I was exhausted by that whiplash. :D
Aditi was a strong heroine and I largely loved how she didn't succumb to the victim-mentality. She was admirable in her need to do the right thing. It really brought in a twist to the whole story.
Overall, a must read for mafia romance lovers. This was my first book by M.V.Kasi. I now look forward to catching up on all the other books that she wrote. :D My year is booked, I think!

Okay, I was actually surprised how good this book was. Don't get me wrong, but Indian author's, I've found, have a hard time competing with the quality of foreign authors when it comes to writing English novels (Duh, it's not our native language)
But this author made me feel like I was reading a foreign author's book. I'm not saying that's the standard we should be looking for, just that, an English novel should feel like an English one. If that made sense. Whatever.
It was good okay?
Sure, there were some scenes that needed better execution (Like the last showdown between the H and h) And sometimes the characters made stupid mistakes. However I do think the characterisation was pretty good. The story writing was also on par. You could relate to the characters and best of all, a great heroine. Not the weepy, weak, dependant tstl types. And thank God for that.
And the plot too was actually good.
Seriously, this author has great potential. Kudos!

Narrated in a Dual POV and is a Standalone without any cliffhanger.

I didn't liked it as much as I expected.

Before reading this, I read The Devil's Desire (which I liked really much) and when I got glimpses of Anirudha and Aditi I badly wanted to read their story. They intrigued me so much.

But I didn't liked the characters & their story as much I thought I was going too. Also throughout the book reading Anirudha's full name in every sentence and paragraph was annoying. And most importantly, I didn't feel connected to it.

I only enjoyed last 2-3 chapters of the book and that's it.

Maybe it could be just me but still.

I liked the book. She has portrayed the characters in a beautiful way, one being the ruthless mafia drug king where as the other a free spirited, simple, elegant and yet a competitor to the former. Basically the book revolves around th love angle of two people which seems accidental at first but turns out to be pre-planned. As the story goes on old secrets and roots are dug out.
Spoiler alert: The author will make sure your heartbeat stops at chapter 34 and then again out of blue resumes at 35.
Happy Reading

It’s difficult to drop the book in between. The plot is beautifully weaved & writer has done full justice to the lead characters. When u start reading the story, it’s difficult to understand the depth of Anirudh’s character. Aditi is like an angel with high moral standards. Despite loving Anirudh, she didn’t compromise on what was morally right. No body could have ever thought of emotions which Anirudh held for her & the way writer has depicted them in the last few chapters is enchanting. Kudos to the writer.

* Fascinating Twists
* Crazy Chemistry
* Gripping Narration
* Not dark and No Cliffhanger
* Must Read

My first read of an Indian author and a mafia genre! So first post credit here is also to the author!

"She had her future planned but ended up kissing the 'DEVIL'.
He was captivated at first sight even though she was a BAIT.
He bullied her into marriage and she was going to betray the Devil.
Finally, Destiny took control!
She was the devil’s willing victim. He fell for the angel".

What should I tell about this story Anirudh Shaurya is a perfect devil ... with heart to do right things for the society .
Aditi Somraj is perfect Optima for righteousness.
The grey shades of male protagonist and white shades of female protagonist pure heart makes them feel attracted towards each other and love in a particular form of passion..
Love the story..
❤❤❤❤❤
Especially when Anirudh tries to prove her ..

This book has been on my TBR for the longest while, and I just neglected picking it up. I'm so happy i chose this to be my 1st read of 2025 because I'm in love with this book & both the MMC/FMC. They are absolutely so cute. The plot was the typical mafia type storyline, but there was a plot twist that I loved, and of course, there was the enemies to lovers plot between the main characters 🤌🏼😘

I ate this book up and wish it wouldn't have ended !

Would recommend!

After so many love stories revolving around dark leads and mafia and what not, the Devil's Kiss was a breath of fresh air ! Be it the storyline, the character sketch - you can't help feeling that attraction towards Aniruddh Shaurya..
Totally unputdownable. Loved reading this one.

Passionate

The ending twist was unexpected, but climax was expected, but good. You typically follow indian rule of age difference in hero and heroine, why? The hot passion you depict is so, so palpable. I love your way of writing.
